The dictator's child.
(Being rewritten)
So, this story just popped out of my mind, what if Clementine was found by Carver after the end credits of season 1 and took her to the Howe's hardware community, and what if Carver adopts her and start raising her as the "New Generation", basically Clem will become Carver nº2.
(Added comment for the Rewrite) I know I haven't touched this story in a while, but recently it has sparked my interest in the Tell Tale Walking Dead series again, and I decided to rewrite the chapter of my first "successful" story and one that I regret not finishing it, because when I read it I noticed some of the mistakes and some of the more amateurs writing I did, after all I was 16 when I began this story.
But enough talk let's go right into the story.
Chapter 1- The people on the hill.
A little girl was walking out of an overrun Savannah, tears in her eyes, a dress with a red Brooklyn hoodie covered in walker guts and blood and a gun, this girl was no other than Clementine Marsh, a girl who lost her parents, lost her group, but the worst part was… she lost her guardian.
Lee was his name, a UGA teacher turned to a convicted killer, but possibly the best person Clem had ever met, He took care of her, he taught her how to use a gun, he shorten her hair in case walkers tried to grab her, but the best thing Lee had ever done was giving his life in order to rescue Clem from a Stranger.
That stranger was someone her group had taken supplies from a car they had found abandoned with the keys still on, her group was starving and chose to take the supplies, even if Clementine took none of them, and consequently, this meant that another family had to starve.
Lee´s strength and sacrifice were represented on Clem's blue cap, which now had Lee's blood stain on the side, Clem blamed herself for it, but she knows Lee would have never blamed her.
His last request was for her, for her to find Christa and Omid by the train, to keep her hair short, to stay out of cities
And that he would miss her.
Lee's was the result of a walker bite on his right arm (his wrist to be exact), Clementine had been taken by the mysterious Stranger because he tricked her into thinking that he had her parents.
In an attempt to slow down the bite, Lee chose to cut his own arm; he had Christa do it. While Clementine had been taken, Ben had fallen off a window and got impaled by a metal spike, Kenny stayed back and disappeared in a walker horde, but not before taking Ben out.
Lee doesn't give up, he goes against a horde of walkers just to get to the Marsh House, he talks to the stranger, and in the end, Clementine is the one who shoots the man who had kidnapped her, the reunion with her guardian was quick, covering themselves with walker guts they managed to camouflage themselves into the herd, they did not noticed them when they were covered, it seemed that things could work out, that they would be safe…
But in the end, it didn't matter, Clementine found her parents… as walkers. Lee passed out on the street, Clementine managed to drag him to a jewelry store, but by that point, Lee was too weakened, he couldn't even walk anymore.
Lee finally dies in a jewelry store, cuffed on a pipe with a bullet through his head, and the one who delivered the final blow was no other than Clementine, she killed Lee in order to prevent him from turning.
But now Clem was sitting on a fallen Oak tree, in the middle of an open field, all alone.
She just sits there for a few seconds, until she finds something in her hoodie pocket, it is a teared-up piece of the photo of Lee.
Her mind wandered off to the events of these last few months; the death of her babysitter, her first meeting with Lee, meeting Kenny and his family at the farm, Shawn Green's Death, encountering Lilly, Larry, and Carley at the pharmacy, and Doug's death. She remembered her time at the Motor Inn, meeting Ben, and the Dairy farm and its horrors with the cannibal farmers, Larry died and they killed Mark chopped off his legs, and tried to feed him to them (clementine didn't eat anything, Lee had stopped her), she remembers the bandit attacks, her talks with the stranger on her walkie talkie, their escape from the motor inn, the arguments and the death of Carly shoot by Lilly which later she stole the RV, Duck was bitten, Katjaa killed herself and Lee took Duck out of his misery. Things got bad to the worst, once they got to Savannah by train, they met up with Christa and Omid, got held up in a mansion and they managed to find themselves a boat… then Clem got Kidnapped, Lee got bitten, the boat got stolen and now Clementine was all alone, waiting for someone to come and rescue her.
Tears immediately formed in her eyes and landed on the photo.
"I'm sorry Lee… I'm so sorry." Clementine sobbed.
Clementine lifted her head and saw something unexpected, up on the hill he saw shadowy figures, she was hopeful that it was Christa and Omid, her hope was crushed when she saw not two, but five figures and worst yet they were looking straight at her, Clementine gets up and points the gun at them, she's breathing heavily and her hands were shaky, without thinking, she ran and hid behind a tree.
Minutes passed, and all she could hear was the wind and her breathing, she wouldn't dare to look, she was scared and didn't know what to do.
"What do I do Lee?" Clementine whispered to herself.
"Who's Lee darling ?" Asked a man with a deep raspy voice.
Clementine nearly jumped from her stop, she turned and pointed the gun at the man (The man had a fur coat and a mustache, his hair was gray), but the man wasn't alone, there were three more people, one was another male probably on his mid 30's he was wearing camouflage type army clothes dirty blonde hair, armed with an AK-47, he was skinny and he had a mean look on his face, the other was another was a bald man with a big lumberjack beard, he was wearing a soldier's uniform an army vet cap, he had dog tags and an AK-47 in hand, his body was muscular and he was tall.
The final person was an Afro-American woman, she had Afro hair, a green coat, and some jeans (plus she was kinda fat), She and one of the men were pointing an AK-47 directly at Clementine.
"Hey, missy put the fucking gun down!" Yelled the skinny guy.
Clementine was terrified of those weapons, which were visible by her shaking gun.
However, the other man glared at the other, and snatched the weapon from his hands "Hey, why the fuck did you-"
The man hit him with the butt of the gun knocking him to the ground "Don't you ever point that gun at a little girl again, you filthy fucking creep!"
The man with the coat noticed that and before things could escalate he intervened "That's enough George, Troy don't point that riffle up, that's no way to treat a little girl." He was amused at the sight of a little girl pointing a gun at them.
Troy got up and George threw his gun back at him, both men glared at each other, but they kept their rifles lowered, and the man (Clearly the leader) started to slowly approach Clementine.
"Stay back!" She said terrified with her hands shaking.
"Calm down darling ain't gonna hurt ya, if I wanted to, you would have been hurt." The Leader said, "I just couldn't encounter a little girl with a weapon and covered in blood, and just ignore it, that ain't gonna happen'."
Clementine understood but she didn't stop pointing the gun "But where are my manners, my name Is William Carver, I'm the leader of a community a few miles from here, but you can call me Bill if it suits your fancy," The man named Carver said "These are some of my people Troy, Tavia and George"
Tavia gave a quick wave, Troy gave her a mean look, but George smiled at her and crouched down to her level "Hey sweetie, don't be scared, we ain't here to harm ya, could you please put the gun down?"
Clementine looked at the man, he seemed kind and there was no deceit in his eyes, he reminded her of Kenny, she slowly put her gun down.
Carver smiled and nodded at George "Now that's much better, can you tell me, what's your name darling?" Carver asked.
"Clem… Clementine." She said nervous.
"Well, you look like a Clementine." Carver commented.
Clementine answered that comment by frowning her brows together and giving him the 'not funny' look.
Carver chuckled at her look "Where's your parents darling or your group?" Carver asked.
This made Clementine frown and lower her head "They're gone… just gone." she said on the verge of tears.
Carver took note of this "George how's the city?"
"It's completely overrun Bill, walkers around every corner, I tried to make contact with that Crawford group, but I couldn't get any response." George explained, "They must be all dead, that train that we found must have attracted them all, I'm surprised that she was able to get out." She commented.
"Girl's tougher than she looks." Carver said, "Listen, Clementine, why don't you come to our community, we have food, beds, water, warm showers, and electricity, and there you can tell me your story, what do you say?" Carver asked.
"I…I'm supposed to wait for Christa and Omid, Lee said they would be here." Clementine tried to explain.
Carver understood, but he couldn't just give up on the girl, he could see it in her eyes, she had the potential to become a pinnacle possibly a leader of the community, he wasn't that willing to wait for two people who were most likely dead.
"I understand your concern darlin', but you gotta understand that we can't just leave you here, You heard George the city's overrun, no way in or out, I don't even know how you managed to get out," Carver explained.
"I covered myself in walker guts… they can't see me like that." Clementine revealed.
The group looked a bit shocked and disgusted at what she had revealed, George looked at her with sympathy.
But Carver looked impressed "I take it was that Lee that came out with that idea?"
Clementine sadly nodded.
"And I´m sure that he would want you to keep moving forward, take the path that best suits you, to ensure your survival, I don't know if Christa and Omid are alive, but I'm sure they would want you to survive" Carver puts his hand on Clem's shoulder "If you come with us, we can teach you how to survive, how to become independent and how to lead."
Clem thought about that for a moment, on one way she didn't know if she could trust these people, what if they were like the cannibals at the dairy or the save lots bandits, but in another way, she knew that she didn't have anywhere to go, Christa and Omid were nowhere to be seen and Clem looked into the eyes of the leader and saw something that piqued her curiosity, she wanted to have a place where she could be safe, she just had lost everything, so has much gambling this decision might of looked like, she nodded her head.
"Wise choice, Clementine, but first I'm gonna need your gun." Carver said.
Clementine slowly handed over her gun to Carver, "Now let's get going, if we wanna make it there before the dawn." Carver said before they all started walking out of that open field.
Clem took a glance one last time at Savannah, the place where she lost her parents.
The place where she lost… everyone.
That completes the first chapter of my new story, Leave a review and suggestions.
The rewrite of the next chapters will be happening within this month, and after that, I'll write the next chapter.
