Chapter 01: Prologue
A young man was watching the news in his unkempt and littered apartment, munching away on snacks while atop his futon, seemingly without a care in the world. His blue eyes stared at the TV, bored. He was dressed casually, with a cooler on. It was July and the weather had hit records in all of Japan, making it almost unbearable to be outside.
"The dispute with the city's Tokyo Manji Gang continues to intensify and has finally incurred civilian casualties."
"Wait, seriously? Scary…" The man muttered, eyes widening, eating a bag of potato chips as his snack.
"There were several victims. Three of them have died. The first was Tachibana Naoto-san, aged 25, from Shibuya, Tokyo."
He paused in his eating, repeating the name, wondering why it felt so familiar. At the same time, he raised the volume, suddenly wanting to know more about the news.
"The second, also from Shibuya, is Tachibana-san's older sister, Tachibana Hinata-san, 26."
Hanagaki Takemichi's heart skipped a beat. "Tachibana Hi...Hinata -" A chip fell from his fingers.
"And finally, from Shibuya as well, but someone who was reportedly heavily involved with the Tokyo Manji Gang. Hanagaki Sumire-san, 27. The MPD is on high alert."
Takemichi's blood ran cold as he sat up, completely frozen as he stared at the news. "M-M-Mi-Mire-nee."
