Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back for another story, this one about Spider-Man. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Spider-Man, Disney, and Marvel do.
Another web line impacted a building next to her as she swung down the street. She stared for only a second at the people on the street. Her eyes darkened as she stared down at them.
She knew what had been done. She had just moved here and was still struggling. She still decided to become the hero and take a stand.
"And recent drug busts have uncovered yet another crate of the drug known as 'overclock'." She heard as she rested against the wall with annoyance.
Overclock… The drug which she had decided to start looking into. She had little to no information on it, not any leads which helped her. She was so annoyed by this as she crossed up the building and flipped onto a new wall before she stared down at the city.
"I thought this city would be different." She stated before she shook her head and threw herself into the air.
They stared, gawked, and some fished their phones from their pockets. She didn't wait for them to dial 911 or report her to some 'real' superhero. It had become a harder thing to keep her head on at the moment. She wanted to get somewhere safe and get her head together for more than 5 seconds at the moment.
She flipped and released the web line in the process, firing a new one as she did so. She swung down the street, only letting go to flip over a sign and flip through part of a bundle of letters. She landed at the crux of one such letter and perched there as she started to question what to say or do at the moment. It had become so hard to question what to do next at the moment. This had been harder to handle each moment she stayed here. This place felt off. She felt as if there was a criminal in each alley, each street, each dock.
Probably because it was.
"Ok, Gwen. Pick up the pace. You know Overclock isn't going to shut itself down. You're going to need to get creative." She stated before she seemed to tap her fingers on the edge of the building.
A small habit she seemed to keep from long ago. Well, long as 2 weeks in her book, but who was counting? This seemed to bring back memories she wished stayed buried, memories which were more unpleasant than she had expected them to be.
"Ok, Gwen. Just got to go handle stopping a drug raid, then finding out who the guy in charge is, stop them from making more of it, and then shut it all down." Gwen stated before she looked down at the city once more at the time.
Still? She seemed to question what to do when she found whomever this was. There were a lot more people at the second. She seemed to invest some more details at the moment. She had become when it came down to it. The longer the plan came into her mind at the second, the more flaws she saw in it.
There were a few details in her mind she wished to change at the second. She was a few more questions when it came down to it. Gwen was happy to simply slog through the rest of the town at the time, but she seemed to point out mentally to herself how out of her league she was.
Still? She couldn't back down. She had to be a hero, and had to protect the rest of the people who counted on her, backing down wasn't simply an option at the time. Gwen had a lot on her mind and something to take over her brain? It had become when it came down to it. She had been pushed to her limits and she couldn't afford to back down now.
Gwen fired another web line and swung down the street as she failed to notice another small creature, an 8-legged creature that scuttled down the letter.
There was another spider that was to come. One which would rise sooner or later. There was to be a reckoning coming sooner or later. She hummed as she considered her options.
Author Notes
Phew. The first chapter is done! I want to point out that the next chapter will be delayed. The next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show both Gwen looking into the drug and set up Arachny showing up sooner or such. The next chapter will be 900-6500 words when it comes down to it. Until then, Lighting Wolf is out!
P.S: Next chapter will be delayed. And it will be my final Spider-Gwen story.
