After the cadets' recent encounter with dark Spyro, they kept an eye out for the cruel dragon. Cynder was flying around, being careful of her surroundings; roller brawl searched the more sinister sides of Skylands, such as the falling forest, hex looked in villages, and food fight searched in woodlands while the rest of the core team searched everywhere else, knowing what he could do. But little did they know that dark Spyro has made a new friend, one that cynder and hex should be familiar with. The Skylanders even made an alert. But this only made dark Spyro get even more enjoyment out of this. He mocked the idea of the Skylanders defeating him. even more so due to Spyro and master eon not being there. Dark Spyro thought of this like a game. The sun soon set with the Skylanders and cadets' assignment not being finished; none of them found any traces of him. Cynder flies to the meeting point hoping that her teammates found something, anything! That could lead his direction. "guys…did you find anything regarding him?" cynder asks roller brawl, hex, food fight, jet vac, stealth elf, erupter, pop fizz, and kaossandra.
"I thought you had better luck. I didn't even find a scale. " hex sighed as she tiredly sits down." oh. How about you guys?" cynder looks at food fight and roller brawl, who had bags under their eyes from a long day of searching. "nope. I even asked the trees if they saw him, and none of them said they did." food fight responds and soon yawns right after. "yeah, same here. I've only found greebles." roller brawl said. Food fight sighs and sits down on the grass. " heh…I guess we're lucky in a strange way…" the rest of the group looks at hex, curious about what she just said. "Strykore could have stolen all of our lights, which would be way worse…" hex continued. "Yes, we are. Strykore could easily ordered dark spyro to kidnap one of you." kaossandra agreed. "But hey, at least kaos and his, for some reason, familiar troll servant. Arent causing trouble, Right?" food fight says, meanwhile, in cloud cracker prison. Kaos and glumshank's cell was empty, and the guards and snap shot were looking for them and were about to alert kaossondra when suddenly a colossal blast happened, knocking out most of the guards. Snap shot fell to the ground only inches away from a button.
A wicked laugh was heard Just as snap shot's vision blurred, he saw none other than kaos, but behind him were the doom raiders and two blurred figures due to his vision getting worse, but before he completely got knocked out, he slapped a button behind him using his tail, and that alerts the Skylanders, and he completely goes unconscious. Meanwhile, chill was in the library reading when an alarm went off. Remembering professor's jet vac classes, she realizes what it was for and quickly gets hugo and sprocket, "hugo, sprocket! The emergency prison break alarm is going off!" she says in the courtyard. They both run into the library with her and calls kaossondra and the Skylanders. Meanwhile, Kaossandra's phone starts rigging. She answers the call. "What is it, hugo!?" she asks. "There was a massive jailbreak!" hugo shouted, freaking out." what!?" she responded, shocked." yeah, the doom raiders, kaos, and a lot more villains got out!" sprocket said. "We'll be there immediately!" kaossandra said, hanging up. "Skylanders! And cadets! We need to go to cloud cracker prison right away! There was jailbreak!" she says. Everyone sighs angrily as well as tiredly. " OH! Come on! What is this bad luck!?" pop fizz yells on his knees dramatically. " are you kidding me!? I thought we at least had a mouth!" erupter says, trying to control his urge to lose his temper and erupt and spew lava. "Don't we all think that!? It's like expecting weeds to not harm your flowers in a garden!" Food fight says, shooting off the ground like a rocket. Cynder notices everyone's anger and tries to calm them down. "Alright, guys, calm down. Everything will be alright," she says. After a few seconds, they all take a deep breath. "Now, let's see if any of the villains are still there." kaossandra orders. When they get there.
The place is littered with knocked-out guards, but no villains are seen… except for broccoli guy, who is still sadly floating around in his cell. Every other cell gate is on the ground with dark magic scorch marks. "Woah, they fully cleared the place…!" stealth elf gasped. "Except for broccoli guy, for obvious reasons." skull said, noticing him. "I can't BELEIVE they REPLACED ME! *crying*" broccoli guy cried from inside his cell. "I can." food fight said with a smug smirk on his face. "Normally, I would feel bad. This is the most annoying bad guy here and probably in the entire Skylands, so yeah, we all can!" roller brawl mocked. The cadets then look over to two cells they don't recognize." which villains are supposed to be in those two?" hex said, pointing to them." oh, those. Dear, that one with all the slime in it belongs to Skylands maddest mad scientist. Doctor krankcase and the one next to it belongs to that blue blob of stupidity, the gulper." jet vac responds. "Why do they call him the gulper?" food fight asks, walking up to the gulper's cell to look closer. " because he literally grows bigger and greedier with every soda he drinks!" jet vac answered. Food fight froze. He couldn't believe that was the gulper's ability.
" w-what…? Did I hear that right?" "yup, and he hates anything else." jet vac responds. Food fight's eyes widen, not expecting that answer." so what does this doctor krankcase guy do?" roller brawl asks. "He makes wood come alive using this special green goo." pop fizz explains. "Well, that's interesting…." roller brawl trailed off. Stealth elf then looks over to kaos's cell, which has bite marks on it. "...ether kaos's strange teeth issue got worse, or he has a new power on his hands!" stealth elf announced. Everyone else then looks at it. " well, that's definitely new." pop fizz says. Erupter then used his analyzing ability and noticed something even more strange about the bite marks. "Hmm…these appear to be shark bite marks…and they have this blue tint to the bite mark area," he said. "But shark bites don't usually do that!" jet vac added. Kaossandra then realized that kaos's powers had gotten more robust. "I-i thought I stopped him from getting more powerful!" she said. " well, we can't just stay here and pity ourselves over kaos's and the prisoners' sudden escape. We need to go after them! Of course, after we check on snap shot and the rest of the guards, that its." jet vac says. "Yeah, professor jet vac's right! We need to help them immediately." hex added. The group then headed to snap shot's office to still see him lying on the ground unconscious. Stealth elf and roller brawl quickly come to his aid. "We must use the portal to take him back to the academy! One of you call ka-boom or someone there to put them on that couch in the library! We should really build a medic room." kaossandra ordered. "On it, headmistress!" food fight said quickly, grabbing his phone out of his leaves and frantically dialing ka-boom's phone number. Ka-boom then answered. "Hello!? Why are you calling food fight!?" he asks. "We need you and sprocket to help snap shot out. We're going to use the portals to teleport him to you and her." food fight responded. "Okay. Let me guess, kaos and those other clowns escaped while I was on my lunch break!?" ka-boom asked. "Yeah, but his powers somehow got stronger!" food fight answers. "It's one thing after another with him!" ka-boom said, annoyed. He then hangs up. Stealth elf and roller brawl, then drag snap shot to the nearest portal and put him on it to be teleported back to the academy. Meanwhile.
"My plan worked glummy!" kaos shrieked excitedly. "All the villains are out!" glumshanks was still startled by kaos's newfound ability. "Kaos, are you sure you can control that shark ability? I mean, what if you hurt yourself?" he said, not even trying to make a sarcastic remark due to fear. "I'm sure you, fool!" kaos responded rudely, as usual. "Hehe! While I would love to watch you two bicker don't you guys have any concerns about the Skylanders finding you two!?" someone said from the distance. The shadowy figure walked closer to reveal itself to be none other than dark spyro. He observed them from afar during the jailbreak." you again!? Get lost, edgy mcdragon! You're not scaring anybody, especially me!" kaos hissed. "Im not?"
Dark spyro tilted his head in mockery as he slashed a nearby rock clean in half with his claws. This especially made glumshanks wince in fear as his ears pointed down and his eyes widened. "Lord kaos…! I think you should leave him alone..! Look at what he did to that rock!" glumshanks meekly advised hiding behind kaos. Kaos felt a sense of fear. Dark Spyro's eyes showed zero remorse, only darkness." I would listen to the troll~ after all, I just sharpened these claws, and it would be a shame if I had to tell your mother that I destroyed you~" dark spyro claimed in a bloodcurdling way as his red eyes beamed into the dark portal master's eyes.
After huffing, kaos used his magic and hovered away, grabbing glumshanks by his ears with him. " smart decision for once, huh?~" dark spyro joked to himself as he walked over to the doom raiders. Golden queen was talking to her group when she noticed the sinister young dragon. "You? What do you want?" she inquired. "Oh, nothing. I just need dream catcher to tell me all she knows about those pathetic skylanders. I heard she had quite the encounter with them over the years." dark spyro responded, grinning mischievously. " and what happens if I say no?" dreamcatcher asked with an attitude. "Well…." dark spyro charges up his horns with purple fire as his red eyes illuminate, and he grins. He then burns down everything at their camp. Their food, tents, everything! "You will be alongside the ashes~!" dark spyro snarled. Dream catcher and the rest of the doom raiders trembled. "O-our food…!" golden queen winced. she could barely get the words out of her mouth." so do we have a deal or not~," dark spyro asked with his horns still smoking. "Yes, we have a deal…." dream catcher sighed and told dark spyro everything she knew. She didn't want to, but she feared for her safety if she didn't. After she finished, dark spyro let out a chuckle and soon grinned. "Malefor will be sure to put this info to use," he said. All the doom raiders gasped. "Y-your working with malefor?!" golden queen stuttered. "Yup. the guy really is worth working for. After all, he provides a home, food, advice. I hear him rant about his daughter and eat an infinite amount of tacos! And who wouldn't want that!?" dark spyro explained. Dark spyro then flies away.
Meanwhile.
The group arrived at the academy, worn out from the failed search. Ka-boom and sprocket were in the library, tending to snap shot's wounds. The rest of the cadets were already back at their dorms, and hugo was putting wanted signs for dark spyro while keeping a spray bottle of sheep repellent just in case a sheep got too close to him. Once cynder arrived in the library, she instantly fell to the ground due to being exhausted. She wished that she could close her eyes to rest for at least a minute, but she knew that she couldn't and that she still had work she had to do. She tries to get up, but she exhausted herself to the point that even it was wanting to rest. But she wasn't the only one who was finding it difficult to finish their duties as cadets and skylanders. Stealth elf tiredly limped to the stairs to sit down; erupter and roller brawl was up against the wall, standing and getting ready to fall asleep standing up, pop fizz was on jet vac's shoulder asleep as he too was about to fall to the ground, and pass out, hex was tripping on her own footsteps, skull would sometimes fall close to ground due to going into an inactive state randomly, food fight was bumping into things, and people and kaossandra was close to collapsing onto the ground. Cynder then got flashbacks of her and spyro. She then forced herself back up. "Come guys, we're almost there. We only have a few more steps to go..." cynder cheered tiredly as she smiled weakly, helping her friends into the library. Hex tripped on the stairs, but cynder caught her using her neck, getting her back up. "T-thinks…I didn't hurt your neck, did I?" hex thanked. "No, it's fine. It handled more than this…" cynder responded as her neck now felt sore. The others then entirely went into the library, aka master eon's old bedroom. It has a bittersweet feel to it now due to what happened. Kaossondra personally had trouble sleeping in there after his death. The room just brought back so many memories. Good and bad. It felt like her returning to him was yesterday to her. His strong, kind, heroic voice still echoed throughout her mind haunting her memories. She felt a tear form in her eye but stopped it. She didn't want to weep in front of everyone. She rather be alone to do so. Kaossandra cleared her throat and snapped back into reality "that's enough for today. You are all dismissed to get some rest." she announced. The rest of the skylanders and cadets then leave. Kaossondra pulls down her bed that previously belonged to master eon and lies down. A memory of her and kaos passes her memory. Kaos was a kid at his first little league. He was nervous. Kaosondra had her hair down and wore a short red dress. It was kaos's turn to hit the ball. His heart was pounding upon hearing all the voices. The pitcher then throws the ball first kaos misses. He looks over to glumshanks, who's next to kaossondra enjoying himself to the food. Kaos then gulps and misses the ball the second time and then the third time. He was out. Kaos sadly sat down back on the bench as all the other kids laughed at him and called him names. After the game, he and his mother, as well as glumshanks, went back home, but he was disappointed with himself. He wanted to make her proud, but he only screwed up. Glumshanks offered his hot dog to him, but kaos's anger caused him to lash out at him and throw it in his face. The memory then ends. Kaossondra feels regret knowing that kaos needed her as a kid and that she's the reason he is the way he is now. All he wanted was to make her proud, but yet he was never enough for her, and it drove him to where he is now. She wishes she could go back in time to fix her mistakes but knows she can't because it's too dangerous. So she tries her hardest to give stealth elf the kind of support she needs, the support she never had a chance to provide kaos as a small child. Kaossondra was too tired to shed a tear, so she just fell asleep.
Meanwhile.
The cadets made it back to their dorm. Everyone else was asleep except cynder. She was far too worried about spyro to sleep, even with how draining her search was today. "I miss you….I wish you were here to tell me a joke to cheer all of us up…" she said to herself sadly. Cynder looked up at the moon in the window next to her bed. She looked at the stars as well. The night sky helped her calm down. She looked at photos of her friends hanging up the wall, cynder couldn't help but feel concerned about them, too, especially with what happened on their camping trip and how she missed so much. From dark spyro being a thing to kaossondra being brainwashed by a cursed bracelet to food fight knocking out master eon by accident. She just wondered what else she could have possibly also missed. She still remembers when she returned back to the academy after being held against her will in the cadaverous crypts by her own father. She remembers when hex,chill, bad breath, roller brawl, wind up, and food fight hugged her as soon as they saw her. They were worried sick about her since her kidnapping and sometimes would have trouble sleeping and would be extra aggressive to enemies because they were furious at malefor. She even heard from stealth elf and jet vac that their friendships and grades were questionable while she was gone. Stealth elf said they often would sneak out at night to try to rescue her and were more focused on her than their actual grades.
Jet vac even told her that food fight, hex, and roller brawl specifically got detention over their argument about wanting to save her. Still, they couldn't because they would only also get kidnaped and possibly either get corrupted, zombified, or become servants for him while, of course, that second to last one really wasn't a concern for hex. It was for food fight and roller brawl. After all, malefor does have a voluminous hatred for skylanders. If cynder didn't return the time she did, they would have taken things into their own hands. Cynder suddenly got chills from just thinking about that. She only wanted her friend's best interest at heart. The last thing she would want is for something terrible to happen to them. Cynder then looked at the clock and realized it was now two in the morning. She thought about this for two hours. Cynder then lays her head down and tries to fall asleep, and after a few minutes, she finally does. To be continued.
