A/N: Been playing too much Baldur's Gate recently instead of writing my novel. I won't lie by saying that this Fanfic will also have some of by book lore in here, without going too much into it. It will probably make sense in time. I'm so hoping that someday when I finish this my novel, that I will have it under a section on FanFiction somewhere so I can offically make this a crossover haha. For now though, I will have to refrain.
My novel has in no way any connections to Baldur's Gate, nor will have any Baldur's Gate lore when it's officially done, this is just a one off if one of my characters were to join this universe.
Eternally Evangeline x Baldur's Gate 3 crossover (my dream)
As consciousness surged through her body, she was met with an overwhelming sense of unease that permeated every fiber of her being. Gradually, her eyes fluttered open, squinting against the intense brightness that surrounded her. She struggled to comprehend her surroundings, blinking repeatedly to bring clarity to the blurred outline of the cocoon-like pod that enveloped her, its suffocating embrace almost tangible.
Panic gripped her as the realization dawned that her memory had been erased, leaving her clueless about how she had arrived in this bewildering place or even who she was.
Disorientation washed over her, and she shook her head, attempting to dispel the fog that enshrouded her. The coldness seeped into her bones, and the constricting pod left its mark on every inch of her skin. She strained to shift her body, only to be met with a jolt of excruciating pain, a stark reminder of her immobilized state within the confines of her claustrophobic prison.
Desperately, her fingers grasped at the soft, cushioned surface of her enclosure, confirming that the pod was her sole lifeline. Despite its grip, it provided the warmth she desperately needed; without it, she would have been lost in the frigid air. Her vision gradually adjusted to the blinding light, and she surveyed her unfamiliar surroundings, overwhelmed by an indescribable sense of foreboding.
Where am I?
As she lay there, lost in her own thoughts, a sudden hiss of air shattered the silence. It was as if something had pierced the thick, gelatinous walls of her prison, and a cool gust of air rushed in, bringing with it a sense of unease and confusion. As she gazed at the creature that had entered the room, her mind struggled to comprehend what she was witnessing.
Her initial impression was that it possessed a humanoid form, but as it stepped into the dim light, she realized that its visage was grotesque beyond imagination. Her body tensed, heart racing, as she observed the mind flayer slowly advancing towards the center of the chamber. Its movements were purposeful, every step calculated and deliberate.
Approaching the object positioned at the room's core, the mind flayer extended its hand, and the object responded, obedient to its command. A brilliant light emanated from within, illuminating the darkness. Her mind reeled as the creature extracted something from the object, a sense of dread settling deep within her chest.
With horror, she watched as it began to stalk towards one of the pods that it had passed on its way in. Frozen in place, she was unable to move or utter a word.
As he approached the pod, she noticed an occupant inside. With a gesture, the mind flayer revealed the serpentine tendrils of the pod, unfurling them to expose what lay within. They delved into the pod, his elongated fingers encircling the helpless captive.
She observed as the person inside the pod writhed, desperately attempting to evade the creature's grasp, but their efforts were in vain. With its hands, the mind flayer brought the wriggling worm-like entity closer to the person's face, eliciting guttural cries of distress. Uncertain of the unfolding events, she was certain, however, that they bode no good, given the anguished outcries from the victim.
Returning to the center of the room, the mind flayer retrieved yet another writhing, squirming mass within its long hands. As they slowly approached her, the alien's four tentacles encircled its grotesque mouth, surrounded by a bulbous, pulsating head that seemed to shimmer in the chamber's dim illumination.
her eyes widened with fear and revulsion as she beheld the horrifying visage of the mind flayer up close. The creature's pallid skin appeared to be coated in a slimy film, pulsating with an eerie green glow. Its elongated fingers were tipped with razor-sharp claws that dripped with a viscous, luminescent fluid - still wet from the substance it had extracted from the small wriggling creature held in its grasp.
With a calculated movement, the mind flayer extended its elongated fingers towards her enclosure, its eyes radiating malevolence with an ancient and sinister intelligence. Its grotesque form seemed to contort and writhe with an otherworldly energy, as if drawing power from the very fabric of the universe.
With deliberate precision, the mind flayer began to unravel the entangled vines that ensnared her face. Its fingers moved with a fluid grace, deftly manipulating the twisted tendrils with surgical precision. As the last of the vines fell away, the mind flayer raised its long hands to reveal the worm it had been holding.
The creature appeared slimy, slithering from its palm to the tips of its fingers, until it caught sight of her.
It knew its purpose.
Its mouth opened wide.
The small creature's mouth brimmed with rows of sharp teeth, its tentacles springing outward from its contorted body as it latched onto her face. Startled by the sensation, she recoiled, but the worm lunged towards her eye.
