Good morning/Afternoon/Evening! Been A while the last time being here. Sorry about that. Personal issues and school caused me to put a few things on hold, including writing and being on this site. Now that I'm in a much better state where I am a few years ago and I'm ready to get back into writing again.
I always wanted to
write a continuation of Clarence for a while, but I had to put it on hold as mentioned above. But now, the wait is finally over! Here's the first chapter of Clarence Season4! Hope you enjoy it!

*Beep Beep Beep Beep*

"Ugh…" A very chubby kid mumbled tiredly, slamming the clock down, turning it off.

"Clarence…" A female voice called out. "It's time to get up."

"Clarence, wake up sweetie. It's time for school."

"Five more minutes mom…" Clarence groggily replied.

"No, no, Clarence, you have to get up now," the voice spoke calmly but firmly. "You don't want to be late for school."

After what felt like an eternity, Clarence finally opened his eyes, as he let out a yawn before facing his mother, Mary; she was a curvy woman with a similar skin tone like her son, blonde hair and had a pink bathroom robe on.

"Morning mom," Clarence grunted, rubbing his eyes.

"Morning sweetie," Mary said with a smile I made breakfast for you."

Almost immediately, Clarence bolted out from his bed and headed straight down to the kitchen, much to Mary's amusement.

"Works every time."

In a matter of a few seconds, Clarence arrived at his destination, with breakfast laid out on the table in the dining room, as Chad was already at the seat, chowing down on his sandwich; he practically resembled a modern-day caveman, had shoulder-length brown hair, stubbles on his face and a rather tanned complexation, with big, hairy arms and legs, as well as wearing his usual outfit: a white t-shirt, torn blue shorts and socks.

"Morning Chad!" Clarence greeted his stepdad, as he was eating his oatmeal.

"Good morning, little buddy!" Chad greeted back. "Ready for school?"

"Yep! I can't wait to see all of my friends again!" Clarence enthusiastically answered. "It's going to be just like last year, greeting everyone, making new friends, getting wacky hiking and stuff and…"

Before Clarence was rambling on of what he was looking forward to, with Chad merely nodding to everything his stepson was saying, just as Mary showed up to join them at the table, before she noticed the time at the clock.

"Oh no! Clarence, go get dressed! You don't want to be late on your first day!"

"Okay Mom!" Clarence immediately turned around and head back to his bedroom to get dressed, before Mary looked at her boyfriend.

"Chad, I'm going to the store later. Need anything?"

"Oh, can you get me some cola? The cherry kind?"

Mary giggled and kissed her boyfriend on the cheek.

"Of course."

A few minutes go by, before Clarence went downstairs once again, this time wearing his usual outfit: a neon green T-shirt with short purple sleeves, blue shorts, and dark blue boots, as he picked up his green backpack that was resting near a glass coffee table.

"Are you ready Clarence?" Mary called out to her son, having put on her usual outfit: a pale-yellow t-shirt and tight pink pants with dark brown boots and her iconic red lipstick.

"Ready, mom!" Clarence replied, before the and his mom headed out to the front door.

"Chad, we're leaving!"

"Okay! You have a good day at school little buddy!"

"I will Chad!"

With that, Clarence waved his goodbye to his stepdad, before he and his mom closed the door behind, leaving Chad alone in the house, as he took his sandwich in the living room, sat on the couch and turned on the TV.

"Time to watch some monster trucks."

"Alright, you have a good day at school, sweetie!" Mary leaned towards her son and kissed his cheek, causing Clarence to giggle.

"Love you mom! Bye!"

After giving his mother a kiss on the check, Clarence hopped out the car and slammed the door close and watched his mother drive away waving at her. He turned around and made his way inside Aberdale Elementary School. Everything about the place, from the hallways to the open field, to the flag that stands proudly at the entrance, it was exactly as it was when he first moved to Aberdale and today's weather was the perfect balance of being warmth and cool, matched by the sun shining brightly down at the town.

As he continued to walk down the hallway, he couldn't help but notice how big the crowd was. Sure, it was nothing, but today seemed like an exception, as there were more people he can count.

'This never happen before. This hallway has always been more spacious,' as Clarence pondered about this, he noticed his two best friends standing in front of the bulletin board, with many of their peers presented as well.

"Jeff! Sumo!" Clarence called out, prompting one of them, a kid with nothing but several strands of hair on his head, wearing a black t-shirt, cut-off jean shorts, and dark red boots, to turn around and smiled in response.

"What's up, buddy!" The streets smart kid happily greeted his chubby friend. Although circumstances beyond their control forced Sumo to attend West Aberdale Elementary, Sumo was able to return to Aberdale Elementary once more, courtesy of said school having been recently destroyed by a bizarre freak accident.

"Doing good as usual," Clarence answered. "Say, how's Jeff?"

"Why don't you ask him?"

Clarence turned to his other friend, a very skinny kid with a square-shaped head and brown hair, wearing a pair of a bright cyan t-shirt, tan-yellow shorts, white knee socks and dark blue sandals, who was currently being preoccupied with the school board.

"Jeff!" Clarence shouted, attempting to get his friend's attention. "Earth to Jeff! It's me, Clarence!"

"I got this." Sumo inserted his right index finger into his mouth and immediately insert it into Jeff's ear.

"AAH!" Jeff yelped, as he recoils in shock for a few seconds, before quickly turning around in anger and disgust. "Sumo, what was that for?!"

"Clarence was calling you!" Sumo nonchalantly replied, prompting Jeff to roll his eyes, before turning his attention to Clarence.

"Hello Jeff and why didn't you hear me sooner?"

"Morning Clarence," Jeff greeted back. "Sorry for not responding so soon, but I've been looking at the bulletin board to see what classroom we're all in."

"Wait, what?" Clarence was rather dumbfounded upon hearing this.

"Every year, we have a different classroom and teacher. That's just how it is," Jeff explained, as Clarence's smile faded with concern and worrisome looks.

"Oh no! We won't be able to be in the same class together at all?!"

"I'm…afraid so," Jeff reluctantly admitted, causing Clarence to heavily breathe in and out.

"Calm down, Clarence. Everything's going to be alright," Sumo did his best to comfort his friend, much to Jeff's relief, before facing the bulletin board.

'Oh boy, this is going to be it! Last year may have been a letdown, but this year, I'll finally be part of an advance class! I just know it!'

He scrolled through the list very attentively, double, even tripling, his effort, making sure his name was among the list. It may have felt like eons, but he finally manages to spot his name…under Ms. Baker.

"I'm…in Ms. Baker's class?" Jeff couldn't believe he was seeing. This wasn't the outcome he was expecting. "This…This has to be a mistake!"

Once more, he looked at the list very carefully, but there was no doubt, his name was under Ms. Baker. He sighed in disappointment but shook his head and looked at the list again, before he noticed two other names on the list.

"Hey guys, your names are also under Ms. Baker's," as soon as said this, Jeff's eyes widen upon this realization "Oh no, that means-"

"All three of us are in the same class this year!" Clarence rejoiced.

"Awesome!" Sumo added.

"Hang on, you guys. Looks like we got some new students in Ms. Baker's class," Jeff looked at the list and saw a few new names on the list. "Haru Walker, Morgan Arthur, Robin Chase, And Saphira Adol."

"New people to meet!" Clarence couldn't help but giggled with glee.

"At where though?" Sumo asked with curiosity.

"Let's see…" Jeff looked at the list and found what he was looking for "Looks like it'll be at Room 11 and right near the library."

"Well, what are we waiting for? New friends await us!" Clarence shouted, before the trio headed off to their new classroom, as well as the beginning of the new school year.

With only a few minutes to spare, Clarence, Jeff and Sumo managed to arrive at Room 11 as quickly as possible, taking the time to look at their new setting: aside from a slightly larger space, a similar layout, five rows of desks and blue walls, it was not much different from their previous classroom last year. Even if it was the new year, it was starting to feel very familiar with them already.

"I called dibs on the back row!" Clarence shouted.

"Me too! Sumo added.

"Guys, you don't have to take the same spot be-" but Clarence and Sumo took their seats in the back row right away, with Jeff shaking his head in response, before he took a seat in the second row. Soon, more of their classmates were showing up in the new classroom, each taking their own spots and finally, their teacher for the rest of the school year.

Even though it had been a few months since the last time the kids saw their teacher, her appearance remained the same: tall, thin and had thick brown hair that almost reached her elbows, as well as wearing large round glasses, a purple jacket over a white shirt, a yellow pencil skirt, high white socks and pink heels. She smiled upon seeing her old students again as well as excited to see some new faces.

"Good morning, students. I hope you had a great summer."

"Good morning, Ms. Baker," The students greeted back with much enthusiasm, much to her delight.

"I know you guys know my name since we're all familiar with one another, but today, we have a few new students that will be joining us."

The students murmured with one another upon hearing this, as Ms. Baker motioned a few unfamiliar faces to walk over to the front of the classroom.

One was a girl with a tanned complexion, goldenrod brown eyes and shoulder length rosy-brown hair and wore a short sleeve frost white colored butterfly themed dress, ebony black socks and midnight sky black themed shoes, as she smiled and waved nervously at everyone.

Another was a boy with a light tanned complexion, peacock blue eyes and short obsidian black curly hair and wore a teal blue and macaroon cream white cap with a pine green tree symbol in the middle, arctic blue tattered jeans, an onyx black T-shirt, an maya blue linen jacket and jade black colored shoes. The moment he took noticed of his female classmates, he gave some of them a few winks at them, causing some to merely rolled their eyes at his flirtations.

The last two students, though, stood out in quite a big way, mainly due to their androgynous appearances: one had regal features, lapis blue eyes, medium length curly auburn hair and a natural complexion, as well as wearing Persian blue blazer and trousers, oatmeal white shirt, jam red tie and polished cannonball grey shoes, while the other had sea-foam green eyes, a pale complexion and long strawberry blonde hair tied into a ponytail, held up by a cobalt blue ribbon and wore a pair of denim blue jeans, a grass green short sleeve t-shirt, an armband on her right wrist and umber brown tennis shoes.

"We will go around and introduce them" said Ms. Baker, clapping her hands.

"Robin Chase."

"Morgan Arthur."

"Saphia Adol."

"Haru Walker."

Clarence couldn't help but to give a glance towards the new students. Since there were only four new students this school year, it made it easier for him to remember their names well enough.

"Okay, now that's out of the way, let's begin the day," Ms. Baker happily clapped her hands, as she wasted no time to have her students go to work. Throughout the early morning, schoolwork was all they did, with a few breaks then and there, having to learn about arithmetic and social studies. Fortunately for everyone, Ms. Baker had her students be in groups of four for the latter subject, so Clarence, Jeff and Sumo grouped up together, just like they always have before. Just as the trio were about to get ready, a student nearby spoke to them.

"Hey, hope you don't mind me joining."

The trio turned around to see Haru Walker right beside them, her calm facial expression and refined stance gave off an aura of maturity towards the boys.

"Sure, we don't mind at all," Jeff was the first to spoke up.

"Welcome aboard, uhh…." Clarence trailed off, trying to recall her name, as Jeff shook his head upon seeing this.

"It's Haru, Clarence," Jeff calmly but firmly corrected him, before he faced the new student. "I'm so sorry about that. Clarence can be a bit-"

"Absentminded?" Haru finished for Jeff.

"I was going to say easily distracted but that works too," Jeff accepted her answer.

Haru nodded, before taking her seat and right away, the trio were greeted with a pleasant perfume scent, a mixture of pumpkin, pecan and nutmeg, all combined together.

"So…" Haru began. "Ms. Baker told us to share a story that was the most interesting to you during summer break. Who would want to start first?"

"Ohh! Ohh! Ohh! I want to start!" Clarence raised his hand.

"Sure, Clarence. Go ahead."

Clarence let out a deep breath before starting his story.

"It all started when I was at the saloon with my mom and Chad…"

"Clarence, go help Chad out in the front, sweetie," Mary informed her son.

"Aye Aye, Mom!" Clarence happily obliged, as he stopped playing with his brown t-rex and beige and black color stripe velociraptor toys, jumped off from his chair and exited Hip Clips, the scent of water and shampoo were replaced with the car gasoline that filled the humid air.

Standing on the right was Chad sitting on a chair, hunching back sweating nonstop wearing a statue of liberty costume.

"Hey Chad!" Clarence greeted him, as he walked over to his spot

"Oh, hey buddy!" Chad greeted Clarence back with a smile. "What brings you over here?"

"Mom wanted me to help you out," Clarence explained. "So you can take your break and I can take over!"

Immediately, Chad took off the costume he was wearing and handed it over to Clarence.

"Go get 'em, tiger!" With that, Chad fell asleep right under the shades.

Clarence put on the costume and began holding up the sign, staying vigilant on the same spot, but occasionally walking around a bit. With sky being clear and with no cloud in sight, it didn't take long for the scorching heat slowly draining the boy's energy. Clarence tried his best to ignore this, but before long, he was starting to set like mad from the heat. Just as he was about to stumble on the ground and pass out, though, something caught his eye that stopped him dead in his tracks, as Clarence ran up towards the object and gasped.

"Hey there, buddy! What are you doing out here?"

The object in question was nothing more than a turtle, seemingly wandering around without a care in the world, seemingly not acknowledging the chubby boy's presence. Clarence didn't care, though, for he was captivated, as he got down onto his knees, continuing to focus his attention to the creature.

"Where are you heading?" Clarence asked, but again, the turtle barely noticed him. "Oh, I get it. You must be shy."

Before he knew it, the turtle retreated into its shell in response causing the optimistic boy to rub on its shell.

"Aww come on, I don't bite."

The turtle still didn't come out of its shell, though, much to Clarence's disappointment, as he pondered what to do next. Then, an idea came right to him.

"I know what I can do!" Clarence grabbed the turtled and sprinted off, completely forgetting the job he was supposed to do.

The first place Clarence and the turtle went to was the laundry mat, as the scent of linen and detergent lingered throughout the whole building. Clarence noticed the arcade machine nearby and ran towards it, setting the turtle down and began digging his pockets. Unfortunately for him, though, he couldn't find a single change.

"Aw!" Clarence pouted, before he began to look for some quarters, searching far and wide for quarters; luckily, he came across a bag of quarters sitting next to one of the washer machines. Clarence gasped with surprise, grabbing the bag and rushed back to the arcade cabinet. When he came back, he saw the turtle slowly coming out of its shell.

"You came out of your shell!" Clarence became ecstatic. "Alright buddy, let's do this."

Clarence inserted a few quarters in the machine, but then stopped himself at the last second.

"Huh, I never thought of a name for you." Clarence pondered for a moment to think of a name, before it came to him. "I know! How about Adam?"

The turtle merely looked at Clarence, his head still in his shell and blinking a few times, which the chubby boy smiled and shrugged.

"Adam it is, then."

For the next half hour, Clarence was enjoying the arcade game without a care in the world, while Adam the turtle sat still and watched his new friend playing the game nonstop. After running out of the last few quarters, Clarence took Adam to the ice cream parlor, getting double scoops on a cone, followed by a repair shop, a book shore and a furniture place. Before Clarence knew it, the sun was starting to set.

"The sun is setting, and you still didn't come out of your shell the whole time Adam!" Clarence rapidly shook Adam so much, the turtle fully got his head out of his shell. "Oh my gosh, you finally came out of your shell!"

Filled with enthusiasm, Clarence rushed back to the saloon, with Chad still resting in the waiting area, as he saw his mother finishing up her business up.

"Mom! Mom!" Clarence ran up to his mother. "Look! Adam came out of his shell."

"Not now, sweetie…" Mary was busy drying off a young girl's raven black long and silky hair. "…And there!"

She grabbed a mirror and showed her customer her reflection, as the young girl gasped in amazement. "It's perfect! Thank you so much!"

"My pleasure," Mary smiled.

"Here you go," The young girl handed Mary a ten dollar bill. "Thank you so much! Bye!"

"Have a good day!" Mary waved her farewells to the customer, as she exited out the building.

"Mom!" Clarence grabbed his mother's black apron and shook it, as Mary saw her son presented a turtle in front of her. "Mom, meet Adam. He's my new friend!"

"That's nice, hun," Mary gently grabbed the turtle from her son. "Did you help Chad like I asked you too?"

"…I forgot to check up on him!" Clarence rushed back outside, leaving Mary alone with the turtle as her company.

"I'm guessing my son didn't leave you alone," Mary spoke to Adam, as he poked his head out. "Don't worry, I'll get you where you need to be."

"Chad! Chad! Wake up!" Clarence shook Chad as hard as he can, causing him to stir up and wake up from his sleep.

"That was a good nap," Chad muttered, followed by a yawn.

"You're awake, Chad!" Clarence happily jumped onto his lap.

"Hey there buddy and thank you for taking over," Chad expressed his appreciation to him.

"Anytime, Chad." Clarence then played Chad's stomach like a drum, much to his discomfort and amusement. Soon, though, Clarence saw his mom leaving the saloon and began to head far away from the parking lot, carrying Adam with her, causing him to stop playing and ran up to his mother.

"Where are you taking Adam?" asked Clarence.

"There's a river nearby, so I'm going to drop off your little friend there," Mary answered as she took a glance at her son.

"Okay mom. Can I hold Adam?"

"Sure, sweetie." Mary gave her son Adam back and the two headed off to their destination After a little bit of walking, the two reached the river, its quiet tranquility a stark contrast to the bustling noises from Aberdale.

"Alright, Adam, I'll see you later buddy!" Clarence set down the turtle in the river, as he tturned its head and gave Clarence a neutral expression before turning back and being on its way.

Clarence stood there for about a minute before joining up with his mom.

"So Clarence, I'm thinking of getting us some take outs, since I'm not in the mood to cook," Mary explained, as she was getting out the keys. "What do you feel like getting?"

"How about pizza?" Clarence suggested.

"Good choice, Clarence. I'll ask if Chad wants any."

The two turned around and went back to the parking a lot; after a few minutes, they arrived back at the saloon and Clarence waited alongside Chad, while Mary put everything away in the saloon before closing it up for the day.

"Chad, Clarence wants pizza tonight. You want that for dinner?"

"Sure Mary, I'm down for that!" Chad instantly agreed.

"Pizza it is then," Mary nodded her head. "I'll go call them ahead of time."

Everyone got into their seats and put on their seatbelts, before Mary started the car and drove away. As they left the parking lot, Clarence lowered the window and popped his head out looking back and waved to the direction of the river.

"Bye Adam!"

"Clarence! Don't stand and poke out the window like that sweetie!" Mary scolded her son.

"But I'm wanted to wave at Adam!" Clarence innocently explained, before sitting back down.

The family disappeared into the sunset, looking forward to dinner. Adam, meanwhile was already down in the river with his mate.

"How was your day sweetie?"

"I was picked up by a very big giant. I thought he was gonna eat me."

"Same here. If that giant did eat you, I would have gone after it and avenged you."

"Now, now, dear. I'm home with you and that's what matters."

"Your right, dear. We should put that all behind us. Come now, I have dinner ready."

The couple then swam their way back home to enjoy a nice evening together.

"…And that's the story on how I met Adam!" Clarence concluded his story, as Sumo was snoring away, Jeff was writing down in his notebook and Haru looked like she was fully paying attention to the cheerful boy.

"Did you and Adam keep in touch?" Haru asked with slight interest.

"Yep!" Clarence answered. "My mom even allows me to bring him to the salon sometimes."

"That's great to hear. Make sure you take care of him," Haru said with a smile.

"Of course!" Clarence assured her. "Now who wants to go ne-"

"Class! Time to switch tables!" Mrs. Baker suddenly spoke up, as everyone got up and began switching tables

"Oh, that's right. We only had like 20 minutes or so," Haru muttered.

"Clarence, this was supposed to be an activity where we got to know each other." Jeff reminded his friend, taking his notebook and nudged Sumo's side, but received no response. After a few more tries, Jeff nudged his slacker friend much harder than usual, elbowing him in the gut.

"AAH! What the heck, Jeff?!" Sumo shouted, as he rubbed his stomach in pain.

"Finally, you woke up," Jeff ignored Sumo's complaint, getting up from his seat. "We gotta get going now."

"Fine," Sumo groaned, before getting up from his seat.

"Sorry that my friend took up all of the time that we didn't get the chance to know each other." said Jeff sheepishly explained, rubbing his arm in discomfort.

"It's cool," Haru casually struggled, before getting up. "See you guys later."

With that, the group went their separate ways, as Haru scanned the classroom, looking for any available spot at any of the tables nearby. Just then, though, she heard her name being called.

"Haru! Over here!"

Haru's ears perked up and turned around to see who it was, just in time see a hand waving at her face. The student was none other than Chelsea Keenzheekoni, a girl with medium skin complexion, large, bushy brown hair, buck teeth with braces on them and wore a byzantine purple turtleneck, a leaf green skirt, pastel green leggings, and Mary Jane style dark green shoes.

Before Haru knew it, Chelsea grabbed Haru's hand and took her to a nearby table, before taking their spots with two more students nearby, with one of them immediately speaking towards Haru.

"Wellhellothere!MynameisRita!Yousmelllikepeachescreamandflowers!Isitfromlotionorsoapthatyouuse?Wheredoyougetit?Whatareyourhobbies?What'syour-"

Chelsea managed to stop the student by covering the mouth with her hand.

"Whoa Rita, slow down!" Chelsea turns to Haru. "Sorry about that, my friend is very chatty."

"It's fine," Haru assured her, before taking a good look at the other two students.

The one that greeted her was Rita Hall, a girl who had pale skin, long, wavy lava grey-black hair with straight-across bangs and wore a spruce blue sleeveless dress, green stockings and forest green shoes.

Next to Rita was a ten-year-old boy, also with a pale skin complexion, platinum blonde hair and a neck long as his body, somewhat resembling a baseball bat and wore a pair of nature green colored turtleneck that covered his mouth and hickory brown pants that appeared to be connected to his shoes. It didn't took too long for the boy to notice Haru's presence, as he bashfully shook his head and waved at her.

"That's Guyler," Chelsea introducing the boy to Haru. "He doesn't speak much, so don't freak out."

"Got it," said Haru before resuming, "So who's going to go first?"

"How about you?" Rita suggested.

"What do you mean?" Haru arched her eyebrow.

"Rita suggested that you go first," Chelsea merely explained.

"If you say so then." Haru merely shrugged.

"One more thing, try to keep it short. I overheard Clarence telling his story and he took all your guy's time," Chelsea chimed in.

"They did talked a bit about themselves for a while, so I have no problem with," Haru said otherwise. "Plus, Clarence's story was enjoyable."

"Alright then," Chelsea simply said. "Besides you, Robin, Morgan and Saphira, everyone else knows each other since we took the same class and teacher from last year."

"You know when you think about it, it's almost as if we never left our 4th grade classroom!" Rita jokingly said.

"So, everyone knows each other already? That's pretty amazing," Haru was astonished to hear that everyone already knew each other since last year.

"Now that's out of the way, tell us about yourself," Chelsea insisted.

"…Well…" a reluctant Haru began. "…My name is Haru Walker and my hobbies includes video games, reading, drawing, cooking and training."

"Ohhh! What kind of video games do you play?" Chelsea was suddenly intrigued.

"Any games will do," Haru answered matter-of-factly, much to Chelsea's disappointment.

"Whatever you say," she simply accepted Haru's response. "Anyway, what kind of stuff do you read?"

"Mostly light novels, manga and language books and I have started to read manhwa recently," Haru replied with the same tone.

Chelsea, Rita and Guyler, however, merely looked at Haru with confusion.

"Manga? Is that some kind of fruit? Or don't you mean mango? How do you read a fruit?" asked Rita.

"Not mango, manga," Haru corrected her classmate.

"What is that?" Chelsea asked, prompting Haru to dig in her backpack and get out a manga book for her classmates to see. The cover easily caught the group's attention, having never seen a book like that before; Rita was the first one to grab the book and opened it and right away, the content captivated her.

"They're like comic books, but the pictures are black, white and grey," Rita noted.

"I guess that sums it up." said Haru, watching her classmates' taking turns, skimming through the manga.

"Wow, this is pretty neat. You have to let me borrow it!" Chelsea suggested.

"As if," Haru shook his head in disagreement. "You seem like the kind of person who would break or lose stuff."

Chelsea merely frowned upon hearing, while Rita burst out laughing and Guyler continued to stare at Haru.

"Anyway, can I have my manga back?" asked Haru.

"In a minute," Chelsea simply replied, her eyes still glued at the pages.

"I think Chelsea is going to be reading that for the rest of the day," Rita commented.

"Somehow, I think you might be right," Haru let out a sigh.

For the next several minutes, Rita and Haru continued to talk with one another, while Guyler remained silent, save for using his emotions to express his feelings, but Chelsea, for the most part, continued to read the manga without a care in the world. Fortunately for Haru, she was able to get it back in time to switch to a new table.

Haru arrived at the table in the right corner of the classroom and waited for her classmates to show up; sure enough they arrived one by one.

One of them was a young boy with sky blue eyes, light skin complexion and short red hair and a slight chubby build, wearing a baby powder white shirt with a pine green bow tie, olive green pants and tawny brown boots.

The other was a girl, having a slight chubby build like Breehn's, short tangerine hair, average skin tone and was rather short, as well as wearing a granola tan, short sleeved turtleneck sweater, royal blue shorts and violet boots.

Finally, there was another boy with an average complexion, both chubby and short and a mop of curly brown hair, with his unibrow, nose, and perpetual grimace being rather prominent and wore a dark red t-shirt, navy blue shorts and matching navy-blue shoes. It was then that Haru noticed the handheld that he was paying closely attention to, not even batting an eye when he took his seat.

"Hey, you're one of the new students," the boy remarked. "My name is Breehn and it's nice to meet you, Haru."

"Likewise." Haru responded back, before she turned her attention to the girl. "Uh, hello there and can I help you?"

Instantly, the girl's eyes sparkled, analyzing Haru from head to toe and making grunting noises along the way, much to Haru's discomfort. Fortunately for her, Breehn managed to grab Mavis, calmed her down and took her seat.

"Sorry about that," Breehn apologized. "Her name is Mavis and she doesn't speak normally, but for some reason, she seems to find you interesting."

"It's fine, Breehn and no harm done," Haru then looked at Mavis, who responded by shaking and muttering. Eventually, she calmed down enough to speak with her usual grunts, before Haru began to mimic her mannerism; eventually, Haru was able to figure out what Mavis was trying to say to her…more or less.

"Are you asking about my hair or are you trying to compliment it?"

Mavis simply shook her head and made more grunting noises.

"First, thank you for the compliment. Secondly, I just wash my hair every day and that's about it," Haru answered, as Mavis merely smiled in response, something that didn't go unnoticed by Breehn.

"Wow, I'm surprised that you were able to understand Mavis," he commented.

"It took a while, but I managed to figure out," said Haru. "So Breehn, what are your hobbies?"

"My hobbies are reading, board games, studying and watching TV," he answered. "What about you, Haru?"

"Mine are reading, video games, drawing, cooking and training," Haru replied back.

"You can cook?" Breehn was surprised by this. "That's so neat. I always wanted to cook, but the thought of me messing up scares me and I don't think my parents would allow it anyway."

"Yeah, it can be challenging at first, but after a while, it just comes natural," Haru explained. "Anyway, why do you think your parents wouldn't allow you to cook?"

"My parents are overprotective and strict and thinks they know what's best for me," Breehn replied, feeling quite embarrassed in bringing them up.

"Sorry to hear about that, but I hope you can find a way around their rules," Haru expressed his sympathy.

"Thanks, Haru." Breehn appreciated his classmate's kindness.

"You're welcome, Breehn." Haru accepted his gratitude. "Anyway, that leaves one more person around here."

She turned and looked at the remaining classmate, still occupied with his handheld system. He looked away from his system to stare at Haru, before continuing to play, like it was no big deal.

"Don't mind Belson," Breehn commented. "He doesn't like to talk to anyone and prefers to keep to himself all the time."

"Why is that?" asked Haru.

"It's because I don't want to waste time with you losers," Belson rudely replied.

"That's why," Breehn simply stated.

"And all three of you have red hair!" Belson insulted his classmate, before he gave a devious grin. "I got it! You will be known as Tomato Heads!"

Belson burst out laughing from his cruel remark, as Mavis frowned and her face was red as her hair, Breehn rolled his eyes, unsurprised by Belson's obnoxious behavior and Haru merely glared at Belson, taking an instant disliking towards him, something that didn't went unnoticed by the bully.

"What are you looking at, tomato head?" Belson asked, clearly annoyed by her reaction.

"Oh nothing. It's just that you look like a puppet."" Haru answered calmly.

"Excuse me?" Belson raised his eyebrow.

"You heard me…" Haru began. "With that nose, unibrow and face, you look like a certain puppet on TV."

Belson stared at Haru for a moment, before his face turned red, angry what she was implying.

"TAKE. THAT. BACK!" Belson demanded, gritting his teeth in frustration.

"After you insulted us? Not a chance," Haru firmly stood her ground.

The tension between Haru and Belson didn't went unnoticed, as Mavis and Breehn grew uncomfortable of the situation they found themselves in. Fortunately for them, though, Ms. Baker saw the commotion and went to their desks to separate the two.

"Break it up, you two!" Ms. Baker spoke up, getting in between Haru and Belson.

Both Haru and Belson exchanged each other's face for what felt like forever, before Belson rolled his eyes and went back to playing his game, while Haru faced the teacher.

"Sorry about that, Ms. Baker," Haru apologized. "I didn't mean to start trouble, but I only insulted Belson because he insulted me, Mavis and Breehn first."

"It's alright, Haru and don't worry about it too much," Ms. Baker assured her. "Just let Belson do his own thing and I'll take care of it."

"All right then." Haru accepted Ms. Baker's answer.

Ms. Baker smiled and went back to her desk. Much time have passed and soon, the students got up and switched to a different table for the last time; Haru went to the table in the middle of class, which was preoccupied by two other students: Robin and Morgan, with the former chilling out, while the latter was reading tarot cards. As soon as Haru took her seat, Robin was the first to spoke to her.

"Well, howdy! You are one of the new faces like this fella and I," Robin reached hand out. "Name's Robin Chase, pardner."

"Haru Walker." Haru firmly shook Robin's hand, before facing the other student. "And you must be Morgan."

"Morgan Arthur, at your service," he introduced himself, before setting down his tarot cards. "I have a question to ask you, Haru."

"Ask away," Haru simply said.

"Do you believe in love at first sight?" Morgan asked firmly, causing Robin to groan in response.

"Don't even bother, Haru. He's into that love making fortune thing," she cautioned her classmate.

"It's called love matchmaking!" Morgan shouted at Robin. "Get it right you airhead."

"Hey, who are you calling an airhead?!" she snapped back at him.

"Obviously you, since I'm not talking to anyone else!"

"I think your tarot cards are lame as heck!" the moment Robin mad the insult, Morgan got up from his chair with fury in his eyes.

"You better take that back!"

"You want to try me?" Robin spoke, her tone dark and threatening.

"Perhaps, but I'm not afraid of you," Morgan replied, not backing down at all.

"We'll see," Robin merely smirked.

"Okay, you two, let's not tear each other apart like wild animals," Haru stepped up and got in between the two kids.

"I'm not the animal here. She is," Morgan puffed and pointed at Robin.

"That's rich coming from you Mr. Love Guru," an unimpressed Robin called him out.

"At least I'm not an angry boar, unlike you!" Morgan countered.

"I've been called much worse," Robin said, unfazed by Morgan's latest insult.

"By the way, what with the accent?" Morgan let out a chuckle. "You sound like you can't read and speak right, just like a country bumpkin!"

"Okay, now you just earn yourself knuckle sandwich from me!" Robin shouting, before getting up from her seat and cracked her knuckles.

"Bring it on, country bumpkin!" Morgan dared her.

"I don't think so, you two." Ms. Baker spoke up, making her presence known with. "You guys are going to have another student joining you."

The group looked at the student who appeared right beside their teacher; it was Saphira, who quickly took his seat and sat right besides Robin's.

"…Sorry, teach. Morgan and I got into an argument. Won't happen again." Robin spoke in a rather gloomy manner.

"I'll take your word for it," Ms. Baker accepted Robin's answer, before leaving the group to their own devices, but tensions still remains among them.

"Howdy, pardner," Robin greeted Saphira with much enthusiasm.

"Sorry about that, Saphira. Robin means well, but she just had a bad day," Haru explained, before quickly changing the subject. "Anyway, want to share anything about yourself? If not, then that's fine too."

Saphira pondered for a moment, trying to find a way to start his conversation with his classmates, before he faced them, having found something worth talking about.

"For starters, I'm part of the Adol family."

"Adol…why does that name sound familiar?" Haru pondered about this, but Robin, on the other hand, was the first to speak up.

"That's because it is. The Adol family is a well-known rich family around these parts of town infamous for their elitist attitude."

"My family aren't a bunch of snobs, but at least my family name is well known over here," Saphira spoke smugly.

"Great, just what we need in this group: s snob." Robin remarked, before facing Haru. "Sorry pardner, but you're the only one I can trust right now. If you want to talk, I'm all ears."

"Hold on, you still haven't answered my question," Morgan protested.

"Not so fast, peasant…" Saphira injected. "I need to talk to Haru to see this lovely damsel in distress needs to be rescue from the likes of you two."

Before Haru knew it, she found herself to be the center of her group but tried her best to remain calm and rational at the moment.

"Alright, that's enough!" Haru shouted, causing the group to quiet down. "Morgan, I'm very skeptical about love at first sight and I don't believe it works that way. Saphira, don't you think what you're asking is a bit rude? You keep this up, you're going to end up alone and friendless and for the record, I'm no damsel in distress. And Robin, my favorite food happens seafood, ramen and barbecue."

As soon as Haru was finished, she looked at everyone and saw their reactions to her answer: Robin smiled and was pleased by Haru's answer, smiling wide enough for her freckles to stand, with Morgan looking quite sad and disappointed, but seemed surprisingly understanding, despite his early behavior, but Saphira took it very hard, his anger and disgust becoming quite prominent by Haru's insult and after glaring at her for a seconds, looked away in a huff.

"Looks like you handled that quite well without that much help," Robin commented, before she suddenly felt guilty. "Sorry for not helping you out much sooner, pardner."

"Not a problem, Robin and I'm used to being bombarded with many questions, " Haru explained to her. "It's practically second nature to me by now."

"Hmph, I can multitask with no problem as well," Saphira said with a hint of pride and dignity. "Did you know that my family are well known for be- "

"Boo! Nobody wants to hear about your family exploits!" Robin interrupted.

"Seriously," Morgan agreed.

"Ditto," Haru added.

Saphira slumped on his seat, feeling dejected that none of them were interested in what he has to say, but remained bitter towards the trio at the same time. After calming himself down, though, he took out an indigo blue book titled "How to Talk to Commoners Survival Guide". Saphira wasted no time skimming through the first several pages slowly but thoroughly; Since he couldn't connect with anyone at his table, he decided to focus most of his time self-improving instead After all, it was the first day of school and there was enough time to repair his reputation and make a good impression towards his fellow peers.

It was only just a matter of when.

After social studies ended, reading became the next subject. Ms. Baker began covering chapters one through five, with the students following along with their textbooks; once they were all caught up, she had her students work on the assessments at the end of all five chapters. As her students got to work, Ms. Baker sat on her desk and started working on some papers.

Haru managed to finish the assessment of chapters one through three with no trouble and was currently working on the chapter four assessment. While writing down her answers, she felt a tap on her left shoulder. Haru stopped writing and turned to the left where she faced the person responsible for getting her attention; It is a boy with a round head and a round body, with stub-like hands, a slightly pale complexion, a small tuff of blonde hair top of his head and wore a light green, long-sleeved shirt, gray shorts, and white shoes. His prominent feature, though, was that he was rather short for his age, save for two other students in this classroom.

"Percy, is it?" Haru asked, arching an eyebrow with curiosity.

"H-Hi there," he softly greeted Haru, before handing her a folded white piece of paper. "This note is for you."

"…Thank you," Haru took the letter, despite her reservation. "Do you know who sent it?"

"I don't think so," Percy simply said and shook his head in response.

Despite her curiosity, Haru decided not to bother Percy any further and decided to open the note. She was greeted with a pleasant scent of shea butter mixed with peony roses and blossoms and it read:

Hi Haru,

Do you want to come hang out with my friends and I at recess?

P.S. Love the hairstyle you're wearing! You have to share us the details!

Courtlin.

Haru finished reading the note, a bit surprised by what she read. This wasn't the first time she had some notes before, but at least it wasn't several dozen letters like last time. After looking at it for a few seconds, Haru folded the note back, set it on the side and resumed her work. Meanwhile, Clarence and Sumo began talking with each other, disregarding their works altogether.

"Sumo, what should we do at the treehouse?" Clarence whispered.

"How about we go to the beach looking for treasure?" Sumo whispered back, while tapping his pencil on his forehead.

"That's a great idea! We should form a crew and we'll be like pirates," Clarence proclaimed, imagining all the fun he and his friends would get to have.

"Clarence, wait. If we get more people, we might not have much left to split it," Sumo expressed his concern with his friend.

"Come on Sumo, it'll be fun, like always," Clarence pleaded, but Sumo looked unconvinced.

"I still think it should be only the two of us."

"Aw…" Clarence moaned in disappointment, as Sumo groaned in slight annoyance.

"Fine, we can take Jeff and at least one more kid," Sumo relented, as Clarence smiled right away, happy that his friend was in agreement.

"Thank you so much, Sumo."

"That's what friends are for," Sumo simply said. "Now, who do you think we should bring?"

"Chelsea?"

"Bleh! No!"

"Belson?"

"Even worse!"

"Clarence, Sumo, please keep it down," Ms. Baker firmly told the two

"Sorry, Ms. Baker!" Clarence loudly apologized.

"SHHH!"

"I'm mean, sorry, Ms. Baker," Clarence quietly apologized, as he and Sumo whispered among themselves once more.

Jeff, on the other, managed to complete all five assessments before observing his surroundings, being pleased to know that he finished his classwork earlier than most of his peers.

"Okay, I can just relax for the rest of the day," Jeff said to himself.

"Jeff."

Jeff looked to his right and saw his classmate Emilio staring at him; he was a young boy whom, along with Brady and John George, was one of the shortest kids in the class. He had a light brown skin tone, dark brown hair and a large round nose and wore a bright blue t-shirt, dark blue pants and light blue shoes.

"What is it, Emilio?" asked an annoyed Jeff. "Can't you see I'm a bit busy."

"By looking at everyone?" Emilio only rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say, buddy. Anyway, have your eyes set on those two lovely ladies?"

"You mean Haru and Robin?" Jeff arched an eyebrow in confusion. "What about them?"

"C'mon, don't play dumb," Emilio smiled coyly. "I know that both girls caught your eyes, 'cause I have my eyes on both of them, but it's so hard to choose. Robin looks very cute and that southern accent just makes me fall in love with her, but Haru is very stunning and her calm but mature charm and that cool charisma around her caught my attention too, but I can't choose which one. So, Jeff, who do you think is the better girl?"

"Don't you think comparing beauty between two girls is rather shallow?" Jeff bluntly told Emilio, who merely shook his head.

"Come on, compa, don't be so modest. There's no shame on liking multiple girls at once."

"Yeah, if you like breaking girls' hearts and being a jerk."

"You say that now, but you'll regret."

"Keep telling yourself that," Jeff turned around and ignored Emilio, who promptly shrugged and walked away.

"Much better," Jeff was about to relax, until…

"Hola, mi querida! ¡Te ves estupenda!"

"Are you kidding me?" Jeff looked around and saw that Emilio was trying to flirt with Haru and Robin, only for the two to shut him down on the spot, making the wannabe Casanova dejected, much to Jeff's own amusement.

The school bell finally rang after what felt like an eternity, prompting the entire class rushed out the door and outside, though a few students stayed behind, with Robin being one of them. She then walked up to Clarence, Jeff and Sumo, who also stayed behind as well.

"Howdy, y'all!"

"Oh, hey Robin," Clarence greeted back.

"Do y'all want to play darts with me?" asked Robin, getting the boy's attention.

"Of course!"

"Heck yeah!"

"Absolutely not! Bringing darts to school is illegal! Someone can get hurt!"

"Don't mind Jeff, he's always a party-pooper when it comes to doing anything fun," Sumo nonchalantly said.

"Your definition of fun is always doing things that are either illegal or dangerous!" Jeff argued.

"At least my ideas are leagues above yours!"

"Come on, you two," Clarence interjected. "Let's not fight in front of our new friend."

After muttering among themselves, Jeff and Sumo begrudgingly set aside their differences, not wanting to ruin their day.

"That's more like it!" Clarence was relieved that they didn't try to harm the other.

"I see that you're the glue that keeps your posse together, Clarence." Robin noted.

"That's right!" Clarence responded in his usual optimistic self.

"Anyway, let's go play darts already!" Sumo excitedly said.

"Uh, like he said," Jeff nervously said.

"You got that right!" Robin nodded in agreement. "Lead the way, Clarence!"

Nodding quickly, Clarence led his friends to the playground; it was crowded with numerous kids spread throughout, with every corner of the area nearly filled up, saved for the open, grassy field…which made it the perfect place to play a game of darts.

"We can just set up the dart board on that large tree." Robin pointed at the tree located in the far right of the grass field.

Clarence and Sumo nodded in agreement, though Jeff remained hesitant on the idea. The darts themselves easily be a hazard just by handling them and he dread at the thought of getting caught holding one. The last thing he wanted to happen was to get grounded, suspended or worse, expelled.

"On second thought, we shouldn't be doing this...," Jeff began"We can totally get into trouble for this!"

"Oh, come on Jeff! It will be fine!" Sumo quickly dismissed his concern.

"Fine! If you're going to play darts, then I'm out! Don't come crying to me when you get expelled!" with that, Jeff turned around and stormed out.

"See what I mean?" Sumo complained. "Lame!"

"Is your friend always like this?" asked Robin.

"Believe me, Robin, he's always been against anything that requires you to get rough and dirty." Sumo told her. "But Clarence and I don't mind at all. At least we enjoy having a great time."

"In that case, we're going to get along great!" Robin smiled. "I love getting myself rough and dirty. Plus, being one with nature is always a joy for me!"

"That's awesome," Sumo was happy to hear about this. "One time, I wrestled several pigs in the mud as a bet from my brothers and I managed to subdue them! I even got 50 bucks for it!"

"Nice, but that's nothing compared to wrestling a wild boar while under the weather. Let me tell ya, that was quite a feat if I say so myself."

"Holy cow! A boar! I want to fight one someday!"

"You'll get your chance one day."

"AH! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"

Sumo, Clarence and Robin stopped what they're doing and looked around and couldn't believe what they were looking at: Morgan was sitting on the grass, picking up his tarot cards, with Saphira was kneeling down, his front body being covered in grass and dirts, much to his displeasure.

"You foolish peasant!" Saphira screamed as loud as a banshee. "Look what you did to my clothes!"

"Who cares about your clothes! These cards you just stepped on we're limited edition!" Morgan angrily shouted back. "You're going to pay for those cards!"

"Screw your stupid cards! You're paying for my ruined clothes!" Saphira pointed to his outfit.

"Not happening." Morgan refused, prompting Saphira to lift him by his shirt's collar and staring him down with a murderous glare.

"Do you have any idea how much I paid for this?!"

"They're just clothes, you can easily wash them when you get home," Morgan pointed this out. "My tarot cards, on the other hand, is another story. It took me months to look for these cards and I had to pay a hefty amount of money to get them."

"They're just cards You can buy another set." Saphira scoffed in response.

Both boys glared at each other with neither side letting up and soon, tension quickly filled the air, as several students slowly surrounding them, just Robin arrived on time, along with Sumo and Clarence.

"What in tarnation is going on?!" Robin demanded.

"Stay out of this, country bumpkin!" Morgan angrily shouted. "I don't need your help."

"Clearly you do, pardner," Robin then walked by and tried to get them separated, only to be rebuffed by Saphira.

"Don't touch me you peasant You have no idea what-"

Suddenly, Robin swiftly punched him in the face, causing Saphira to completely lose his grip and fell to the ground, allowing Morgan to escape.

"Are you alright?" Robin turns her attention to Morgan, who let out a huff of frustration, before turning his attention towards her.

"...Yeah. Thanks."

"You're welcome, pard-"

Without warning, Robin was punched in the face by Saphira; however, she stood firmly on her feet, preventing her from tumbling down, as Robin glared at Saphira, who equally glared back at her and tried to sucker punch her once again. This time, though, Robin blocked the oncoming attack with her right arm, preventing herself from getting another bruise to the face.

"Bad move," Saphira tried to use his other arm to punch Robin once more. Unfortunately for him, though, Robin was quick enough to easily dodge the attack and counter it with a left hook, shocking both Saphira and the onlookers themselves, the former getting another bruise in the face.

"Come on, you have to do better than that," Robin said, casually stretching her arm.

"Oh, I'm just getting started," Saphira wiped blood from his face, before getting into position.

"Good! Cause it would be a shame if you got your arse whooped that easily."

"Dang it," Saphira gritting his teeth in frustration, getting ready to deliver another punch. But then…

"Stop!" Clarence ran between the two, just as Saphira made his move, punching the chubby boy in the face, as he got knocked down on the ground, as everyone gasped in horror, before Robin went over towards Clarence and kneels down by his side.

"Clarence, why did you do that?" a concern Robin asked.

"Because I don't want you two to fight anymore," Clarence answered, as he rubbed his cheek. "Sometimes, talking things out always works."

Robin sighed and somberly looked away, feeling quite bad how the first day of school was turning out. Just then, though, a familiar voice can be heard from a distance.

"What happened here?!" everyone in the field turned around and saw Ms. Baker running towards them with a serious expression and every one of them realized that they were in deep trouble.

"Uh…oh…" Clarence worriedly said.

"Oh, great," Saphira muttered in frustration, as he and Robin exchanged glares for one last time, before they braced themselves for whatever punishment their teacher was about to give them.

And that's the end of the Chapter! Man, it's been a while typing this much. Kinda feels like I'm out of my element. But I'll get there. Anyway, Hope you enjoyed the first chapter! The next chapter would be another long chapter so it might take a bit some time. Hope to see you in the next chapter! Caio!

Compa- means "dude" in Spanish.
