Finally, finally, FINALLY, Eggman's been put in prison and kept there. With nothing else to do, the heroes start to settle down into family lives. But what if the fight really isn't over? What if more people had kids then they first realized? And we've all learned that eight year olds are smarter than they look...

1. Prologue

Prologue

He felt someone's eyes on him. He had been feeling them from when he had left that lab until now, standing in a secluded alleyway at night.

"Come out, I know you're there," he growled.

A shape leapt down from one of the buildings bordering the dark alley. She glanced at her surroundings and noticed some similarities between it and the alleyway she had first met him in.

She turned to him and gave him a joking look.

"What?" he asked defensively.

Then he looked around himself. He growled when he realized where they were.

"At least no one will find us here," he said, referencing that the alley seemed to be invisible to anyone else. "Been a while, hasn't it, U9-b."

"Yes," she said. "You have realized that I have come for a reason."

He nodded, not even questioning how she knew.

"I have come to warn you about the new Ultimate LifeForm, Shadow," U9-b explained calmly.

"Is she dangerous? She will go rogue once she gets older, won't she!" he snarled.

"She is not your brother," U9-b replied. "But others will not see. They will only see you and Void's more violent times in her. If more are to find out about her existence, she will not be safe."

Shadow's eyes widened. "The scientists know-"

"They will not try anything, but if the news were to leak out..." she left the rest hanging.

"I will do my best to protect her," Shadow promised.

"I as well," U9-b said.

The two had nothing more to say to each other, and each disappeared into the night.
