During his execution, Gold D. Roger, known as the king of tomb raiders, declared that he found the lost city of Raftel, where the legendary treasure One Piece is hidden, and that the one who would dig it up would be the next king of tomb raiders. This event started the craze known as the Age of Tomb Raiding where many people set out for Alabasta to find the One Piece. ZoNami

To everyone's surprise (mine included) I started writing another ZoNa fic after 8 years. OPLA is to blame, they had amazing chemistry. Anyway, I hope you guys like it and the characters aren't too OOC. It has been really long since I have written an One Piece fic.

I don't know yet how long this will turn out to be as I have only written the Prologue and the first 3 chapters. Warning: I don't have a beta for this fic and have written it on my phone, so I am to blame for all possible and impossible typos.

At first I considered writing a real The Mummy AU with Luffy as Jonathan, Zoro as Rick and Nami as Evie, Vivi as Ardeth Bay but realized that could never work as Zoro would never find his way back to Hamunaptra. So this is only loosely inspired by the Mummy (1999) but you will see what I mean.

One last thing: the Rating is for canon typical violence and more importantly for the smut that is going to happen in later chapters.

Gold Roger, the "King of the Tomb Raiders" had achieved it all. Wealth, fame and power had all been his. Not surprisingly, the final words he spoke inspired adventurers throughout the world to travel Alabasta. "The treasure? Why, it's right where it was originally. It's yours if you can find it. But you'll have to search all of Alabasta!"
