Harry James Potter had never thought that one day he would become the personification of Death but here he was. Sitting on his throne as he just finished judging the soul of an old man.
So many years had passed since he got sent here, eons to be precise, and so far his job wasn't so bad.
When he first arrived in this new universe, he had been greeted by a growing world, one recently created by Two God-like beings. He had seen them once and promised to never come near them as they were pretty arrogant, similar to someone he despised in the past.
*Cough* Malfoy ! *Cough*
Both of them were translucent humanoid beings with featureless faces but it was easy to tell that they were both males… maybe he heard them talking once.
The first one was yellow in color and possessed a tall and muscular build with deer antlers on his head. The sight of the antlers pained Harry because they reminded him of his father, James.
The second 'guy' was purple instead of yellow and had a much leaner and slender build then the other humanoid being and also had ram horns on his head.
Harry was wary of them both as he could feel the power radiating from them : the yellow one had Light-based powers while the purple one had Dark-based powers.
Light and Dark…
Each time he thought of those elements he remembered people… people he wanted to forget. Thanks to his time in Azkaban, he now knew that there was no such thing as Light and Dark but Gray.
Speaking of power, the moment he arrived on this new world, Harry had been shocked by his new appearance.
Back on Earth, even after his recovery from his years in prison, Harry had been a bit smaller than he should and a bit scrawny. Now, it wasn't the case anymore ! Far from it, now he was pretty tall… In fact, he was 8'5" tall !
Creating a mirror with his power, the young man gasped softy when he saw his reflection.
Looking back at him was a handsome young man who was quite muscular and was built like a swimmer would be. His hair, while still as back as a moonless night, seemed to flow as if ruffled by wind. On his forehead, was a strange mark : a triangle, a circle and a line combined.
Then there was his eyes… They were no longer emerald green but lighter and looked like neons because of how bright they shined! In addition, he had no pupils ! Even better, he could see without glasses !
He was also wearing a strange armor on him but for some, he didn't mind and in fact, made him look like a god.
(Imagine Thanatos Surplice in Saint Seiya Hades Chapter)
Harry had been quite pleased with his new appearance but then decided to examine the world the Two Beings were creating.
It looked similar to Earth : it had 5 continents, seas, forest, rivers but had not the same Creatures living in it. Sure there was some animals he recognized (Crows, Wolves, Dogs, Cats, Pigs, Bears…) but there was no Magical Creatures… Which was sad really.
Then there was Humans as well… along with another type of Creatures who looked similar to Humans but with animals features. He was curious about them and hear one of the Gods calling them Faunus.
However, he quickly had to flee when one of the two Beings almost saw him and went to hide somewhere safe. It was then that Harry decided to create some place to reside.
With his new powers, he created a new plane of existence, one where only the dead could go after passing : an Underworld of sort.
How does it looked like ?
First of all, it looked like a void and small rocky 'islands' could be seen floating in the air. The 'sky', unlike in the Mortal Plane was not blue but reddish-pink in color. However, it was a trap as a good portion of the Underworld cannot be seen.
Why ? Because you first have to pass through the Ruler of the Place.
In this case Harry.
With his power, he created a huge white palace with a long wide staircase, which ascends to a porch full of columns supporting a gable roof, all made of white stone. Beyond the columns was a large set of wooden double doors and sides with large windows bearing the same design as the door.
If you entered the palace, you fell upon a long and large Hall .
It was, of course, built of white stone, upheld with great pillars of black marble, leading into the mouldings of the arch and lit by deep windows on either side. Tall stone statues were set between these pillars, representing Noble Creatures such as Dragons or Griffins, standing tall and proud. At the far end of the hall, set high upon a dais, was a large white throne-like chair.
Hey don't judge him ! He was the Ruler of this Place after all so he had to look the part !
Behind the throne, stood four large doors with different colors : red, white, blue and black.
You are probably asking : What is behind those doors ?
Here is the answer : each door led to a different part of the Underworld. Each will be used by different type of souls.
Behind the Red door stood a world filled with flames, darkness and lavas. He called it : the Inferno ! The souls who go there were considered evil and condemned to stay there for eternity ! A bit similar to Hell back in his home universe…
The White door lead to beautiful place filled with plants such as flowers, grasses, trees and where some animals could be seen every now and then. Harry called this place : Elysium ! Yes, he had some knowledge on Greek Mythology. Only the souls judged worthy will have the honor to live in this part of the Underworld.
TheBlue Door lead to a dark place with little light where souls who were judged worthy of redemption are kept. When a soul is ready, he will be judged again and then sent to one of the three other doors (White, Red or the Black one). This place was called (by Harry), the Limbo.
Speaking of the Black Door, it lead to a dark void. It was what Harry decided to call Oblivion. It was a place where souls (those judged too evil to be sent to Inferno) would be sent to be forever forgot.
Now many eons later, Harry grew accustomed on his new life as Death. Sure it was not always fun and joy but it was far from uneventful. He had judged countless of souls and not many of them actually went to Elysium. Most of them actually went to Inferno or Oblivion…
He tried to judge them as best as he could as said the saying 'Death is always fair' .
For example = Rapers, Murderers, Sinners… all of them, unless they truly wanted to repent themselves, end up in Inferno… otherwise it was a one ticket to Limbo. Children were without hesitation sent to Elysium.
Faunus tend to end up in Elysium… Apparently, their kind wasn't really liked by most Humans. Harry had been more sympathetic to Faunus as the blatant racism reminded him of how Magical Creatures were seen by Witches and Wizards back in his former world.
However, when they did commited crimes, the sentence was the same regardless of the specie…
How does he actually judge them ? He can easily see the previous life of a soul just by looking at it. He didn't care how they died (maybe because he cannot see HOW they died) only what they did in their life. He shivered at some of the things he saw though…
However, thanks to his new duty, he didn't have the time to take a look at the 'Mortal World' as he grew to call the surface. Harry, however, didn't have a reason to as he was particularly content with his current life.
Judging the souls made him forget about the people who betrayed him… And when he DID thought of them, he hoped that they were suffering for their treachery. People like Sirius or Remus however… he missed them. Especially since he now knew that he would never see them again.
Thanks to all the time he passed here, his cold behavior faded a little as some of 'old' him (the one he was before he was sent to Azkaban) was returning.
Back to present, he was about to leave when a gasp from the entrance of the the Hall caught his attention. Sighing, he turned his neon green eyes toward the entrance and saw the soul of a fair-skinned young woman with silver eyes and neck-length black hair with red tips who was wearing a white cloak and a black skirt.
He watched with slight amusement as the woman looked around around before her silver eyes landed on him. They widened a bit as she looked at him and she seemed to be wondering who he was. Internally smirking, Harry then gestured for her to come closer and she did… slowly but surely. He wasn't surprised to feel fear radiating from her… she wasn't the first one and won't be the last.
Once she stopped before him, he was not surprised by she opened her mouth to ask her a question he heard countless of time before
"Who are you ?"
Harry smiled with amusement before answering her in a calm tone
"You know who I am, deep within the remains of your soul… You simply wish for me to confirm it ! "
The woman frowned at his answer but then realization passed through her silver eyes as she looked at him with wide eyes
"You… You are..."
"Death..." His deep voice echoed throughout the hall as he grinned at the woman.

Summer Rose couldn't believe what had happened to her so far : Ozpin, the Headmaster of Beacon Academy, sent her on a mission and she had to fight against Salem, the Queen of Grimm of all things ! Sadly for her, she lost and had been killed by her opponent.
Her last thoughts were on her beloved daughters, Yang and Ruby before her whole world turned black.
However, barely a second later, she found something rocky under her hands and opened her eyes to see…a reddish-pink sky ? Blinking in confusion, she slowly rose from the ground and saw something that caused her to widen her eyes.
A large building in a design she never saw before… However, she had to admit that it WAS a sight to see. As she was wondering where she was, she saw another person, an old man passing through the palace's front doors. Without thinking, she went back on her feet but then stopped her movement when she noticed that her body looked transparent-like !
"What's happening to me ?!" she asked herself in panic as she looked at herself but then slowly regained her composure.
"Okay…Calm down Summer… Calm down…" she whispered to herself while taking deep breathes to calm her nerves.
Then, once she was fully back to herself, she turned her head to stare at the doors.
"Maybe he can help me ?" she whispered to herself as she slowly climbed up the stairs.
Facing the doors, Summer didn't have trouble pushing them and once she was inside, she couldn't help but gasping in shock at the sight.
She found herself in a long Hall made of white stone, upheld with great pillars of black marble, leading into the mouldings of the arch and lit by deep windows on either side. The statues caught her attention for a moment as they represented Creatures she had read in books : Griffins and Dragons, both being Proud Creatures.
Looking at the far end of the hall, she blinked when she saw someone sitting on a large white throne. It wasn't the old man she saw earlier but a young man who looked to be in his twenties with messy black hair and mesmerizing neon green eyes.
He was well built and wore an armor like she never saw before which made him look intimidating. He also radiated power despite being at the other side of the hall. She saw him looking at her before using his right hand to gesture her to come closer.
As if on command, she slowly approached him and as she stepped closer, Summer couldn't help but shiver as the power she felt from him seemed to become more and more powerful. Soon enough, she stopped before him and had to admit that not only was he powerful and handsome, but, despite sitting on the throne, he was also pretty tall…
He could be the tallest person she had ever seen !
Internally shaking her head to focus on her current situation, Summer then looked at him straight in the eyes before opening her mouth to ask
"Who are you ?"
At her question, the young man smiled. It was a kind and amused smile and she understood that it wasn't the first time he had been asked this.
"You know who I am, deep within the remains of your soul… You simply wish for me to confirm it ! " he answered in a calm tone.
Summer watched him with a frown : how could she know him ? She had never seen him before ! But then she remembered her last moment : Salem piercing her with a blade, the sensation of her life slowly slipping away from her body…
Her eyes soon widened when her mind connected the dot
"Could he be ?" she thought to herself before looking back at him with wide eyes
"You… You are..." she spluttered in disbelief and shock
"Death..." The young man's voice echoed in the Hall as a smirk grew on his face.
Summer was unable to say a word as her silver eyes stared at the young man before her. How could she not ? She was facing the embodiment of DEATH itself ! No one knew how death looked like and now she knew… and had to admit that she didn't saw it coming.
She had always seen and thought of Death as a cloaked figure with a scythe but the reality was completely different.

"Now let's see..." Harry grumbled as he narrowed his eyes at her.
His action caused her to shiver with slight nervousness, wondering what will happen now.
Soon enough, he hummed in thought before opening his mouth to speak
"Summer Rose… Huntress and Leader of Team STRQ… Mother of two daughters and married to Taiyang Xiao Long..."
Summer froze at the description but then calmed down : after all, it was logical for Death to know her.
"From what I see, you are a caring mother, a loving wife, a fierce fighter and a really determined woman…"
The young woman felt uncomfortable and looked away from the young woman to instead stare at the strange doors behind him, wondering what they were.
"Well… Look like I know where to put you..." Harry said once he finished.
Summer felt a bit nervous as she looked back at him.
"You are committed no crime in your life so you deserves eternal rest in Elysium !"
The young woman blinked at the words before frowning in confusion
"Elysium ?"
"You will see..." Harry said mysteriously while waving a hand.
Summer watched as one of the doors, the White one, opened. Curiosity took her as she stepped closer and, on the other side, the young woman saw a beautiful grassy landscapes on the other side, filled with trees and flowers.
"Its… Its so beautiful…" she whispered with amazement as she looked at the 'world'.
Harry chuckled at her words before saying "Go on…"
Summer was about to but then, pictures of her daughters entered her mind and she stepped back
"No..."
"I'm sorry ?" Harry asked her with a raise-brow.
"I… I can't go on yet… My daughters need me !" Summer answered shakily but firmly.
Harry's eyes narrowed at her at those words "Sorry to be 'that' guy but you are dead and your daughters are alive !"
"I know that ! But I can't leave them yet !" Summer retorted still firmly but in her eyes, he could see pain.
Harry sighed in slight irritation : it wasn't the first time he had to deal with such dramas. Many mothers before her, especially those who died really young, had tried to convince him to allow them to return to the Mortal World but he had refused again and again.
Why ? Because they would appear as Ghosts and people tend to be scared of Ghosts.
However, to calm their nerves, he created for them a device similar to a Scroll (he discovered it a few years ago and recreated it for his 'subjects'). This device would allow them to watch their loved ones whenever they want.
It was a good compromise… even if many would have preferred to be able to BE with their loved ones.
"Here..." He whispered while waving a hand.
In thin air, a Scroll appeared and he handed it to Summer who looked at it curiously.
"Now you can see your daughters whenever you want..." Harry explained to her in a calm tone.
Summer looked at the Scroll then at him, thinking. A long silence followed until she sighed deeply
"You won't let me leave, will you ?"
"No… I'm sorry..."
Summer's shoulders slumped with disappointment and Harry felt a pang of sympathy for her. He was not heartless but he cannot simply let the dead leave his domain.
"I will miss them..." she whispered with sadness as she made her way toward the door.
"I know you will..." Harry whispered softly back to her with compassion.
She sent him a small smile before facing the entrance of Elysium again.
She was about to enter when an idea passed through her mind. Turning her head to look at the young man, she asked him calmly
"Before I enter, can I ask you something ?"
Harry blinked at the unexpected question before nodding "You can..."
"Is the name Salem mean anything to you ?"
Frowning, the young man went deep in thought "Salem… Salem… No it does not… Why do you ask ?"
"Because she is an Immortal..."
"Nothing is immortal… even the Gods..." Harry replied automatically in a steel tone.
"Somehow she managed to escape escape Death… escape you… She had been living for a long time now..." Summer explained to him in a calm tone.
Harry froze at those words before growling in anger. He accidentally released a bit of his aura and Summer had never felt so afraid of her life. Then he rose from his seat and Summer's eyes widened as he literally towered her !
"Did she ? Well well well, isn't it interesting ?" Harry asked to himself with anger and Summer was even more afraid of him.
Then she flinched when he sharply turned his head to look at her
"Tell me everything you can about this Salem woman !"
(To be continued…)
