A/N: Hello guys! Sorry for not updating in a long time, it's just that things have really gotten hard and stressful lately. Feeling a little depressed, tired, and just feeling a little less motivated recently.
Anyway, here's my second Gamer fanfic, and don't worry, I haven't forgotten about my first Gamer series, 'Constans the Gamer', and I assure any of you who have read that fanfic, that I'll continue to work on that alongside this second series as well. And with that, let's start this story!

The Gamer Ability
[Skills, Items, Etc.]
[Prologue: [START]
???
Dark...
That's all I see. Everywhere I look I see nothing but a seemingly empty void of black. How long have I been here? Or rather how did I even end up here in the first place? What is this place even?
...
Nothing. No clue to where I am. As always.
Hmm... Now that I think about it what was my name again?
...
I don't even remember my own name anymore too, huh? I vaguely remember getting hit by some car and dying, or was it a truck? Eh, who knows.
However, I do remember before dying that I used to live a somewhat mundane and slightly dysfunctional life, usually wanting to isolate myself and spend most of my time staying at home and watching movies, a few shows, anime, playing a few old-school games, and reading some manga and fanfictions.
I was somewhat depressed and felt lonely and a little bitter at times, but I knew deep down I was good at heart, I believe. But now, I'm dead and stuck here, wandering around in the seemingly endless dark void.
I have no idea of where I'm going, no sense of direction or destination, just walking. Just moving forward. Alone and with nothing to do much.
Just walking...
Still walking...
Walking...
...
...
...
Okay. I'm starting to get really bored right now and I don't even know what to do to distract myself much really.
So, what should I do?
Should I try calling for help? Maybe, just maybe I'm not the only one here, possibly. Probably. But then what else could I even do at the moment anyway?
So you know what? Fuck it, I'll try at least!
And with that, I close my eyes and cupped both my hands to my mouth as I began shouting.
"Hoi! Can anyone hear me?!"
...
Nothing.
I sigh. Okay, okay. Let's do this again... This time louder.
"HOI!! CAN YOU HEAR ME?!! SOMEBODY, PLEASE ANSWER ME!!!", I tried shouting with all I've got and got nothing it seems. I just fell to my knees and sigh. There was no one else here, just me. I guess I just got my hopes up a little too much. It just seemed kind of stupid to believe-
"Whattup?"
Suddenly, out of nowhere, I hear a voice behind me, startling me as I quickly turned around to find the source of it, however, what I saw left me dumbfounded.
Standing before me was a bizarre-looking figure. It was humanoid in shape, standing at 5"8' feet tall, and wore a blue extravagant tuxedo with a big red bow and rose, and a pair of white gloves. But its most bizarre and distinct feature was its head which was pretty much just a slick grayed-colored TV with two antennas on top. A big uncanny smile is shown on its screen as I'm left stunned in disbelief.
As I slowly come back to my senses, the tv headed thing simply stands there, his arms folded behind his back, and watches me in amusement, I think as I slowly pick myself up.
Before I could respond back, the tv headed thing spoke once more. "My, oh my you're new here, arent'cha? Well then... Allow me ta introduce myself! My name...," It began as it brought its hand to its chest and bowed dramatically. "Is TV. Pleasure ta meet ya!" The now known... thing, TV, introduced himself as stretched his gloved hand out for a handshake.
I hesitate for a moment before slowly returning the gesture and shaking his gloved hand, feeling the smooth white fabric as I quickly took my hand back. We simply stood, facing each other in awkward silence.
After a few moments. I decided to break the silence as I began asking questions. "So... Mr. TV. Where am I- I mean, where are we exactly?..." I asked him, hoping for an answer.
TV simply stood there for a moment before responding. "Yes. You are in my domain." He answered casually as my eyes slightly widen. "Wait! So we are basically in your home, right?"
"YEP." TV replied as I held my chin and began thinking. So I am basically in his home world or dimension. Hmm. I wonder? "TV, what exactly are you?" I asked, wondering what he is. Admittedly, he simply looked like a tuxedo-wearing guy with a tv for a head.
TV's smile disappeared as he held his chin as if in deep thought which made me feel uneasy. After a moment, the smile on his screen returned as he began to speak. "Well to answer your question: I am what is known as a High Being. We High Beings are a race of powerful celestial beings created long ago and let's just say we can do many things, like..." Upon snapping his finger, two wooden chairs suddenly materialized into existence. "This." I looked at the now-created chairs in amazement. I tried touching it and felt the smooth hard surface.
I quickly sat down and relaxed on my seat as TV also took his seat cross-legged as he continued. "But enough of that now. You're probably wondering why you're here and to answer your question; I saw you die and brought your soul here into my domain here."
So he saw me die and brought my soul here. But why though? "Can I ask you a question?" I inquired as he nodded. "Why would you bring me here and why didn't you come to me earlier?" I questioned him as he began answering my question.
"Okay. To put it simply, I was bored, however, upon seeing your inevitable death, an idea came to mind and so I decided to bring your soul here. Also, the reason why I didn't come to you sooner is that I wanted to wait for you to call me." He answered as I start asking my next question.
"I see. So what exactly do you plan to do with me?" I asked nervously as I feel my fear begin to rise, wondering what this guy plans to do with me. I soon get my answer as he spoke once more. "I am willing to offer you a second chance in life and not only that, I'll even give you a special ability, one you may be familiar with." I mentally sighed in relief upon hearing this as I now became more interested.
"I see. Please elaborate and continue." I spoke, wanting to know more about this offer of his, especially that ability he mentioned.
"Very well. See, I am offering to revive you or rather reincarnate you into a new world with a new identity, one you may be familiar with as well as giving you the power of 'The Gamer' along with you." TV said as I listened and- wait! Did he say 'The Gamer'...? No. That can't be, I must have misheard it, right? I'll ask him again, I need to be sure if what I just heard was true.
"Excuse me, I'm sorry, could you please repeat I didn't quite catch that," I said as he nodded, amused as if he expected that for some reason. "Again, as I said before I'll revive and reincarnate you into another world with a new body and identity along with the power of 'The Gamer', like the ones from your favorite Manhwa series and fanfictions, is that clear?" TV said as my mind is hard at work processing what I just heard.
The Gamer.
The Gamer ability. Possibly one of the most powerful abilities I know of throughout fiction and especially fanfiction. The ability to interact and perceive any world like a video game, basically turning me into a living video game character with infinite potential to grow stronger indefinitely, gaining new skills, powers, and abilities, leveling up, and so much more. However, it sounded way too good to be true, so there's gotta be a catch to this or something. I turn to face TV once more and asked. "Why? Why do all this for me? Why are you offering me this power even? What do you wish to gain from doing all this for me? There's gotta be some catch to this right?" I said wanting to know the reason why.
"Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely want to have 'The Gamer' ability, but I'm also VERY paranoid and cautious right now." TV's smile grew wider as the tv headed man responded. "OH! Simple really. You see, as I said before, I was really bored and I thought; why not have some entertainment? So when I saw you die, an idea popped up and after bringing your soul here, I looked through your memories and decided to grant you your desires and in return, I'll get to watch you always to satiate my boredom so it's a win-win situation for us both. So-..." He brings his hand forward for a handshake. "-what do you say? Do you accept my offer or not? The choice is yours to make."
I close my eyes to deeply think about this. I still don't fully trust this guy, but it also didn't seem like he was lying as well, plus I would get 'The Gamer' ability and even get to be reincarnated to a new world with a fresh new start in life.
A new start.
Yes. Yeah, a new start! Yeah, I'd love that actually. I could finally live my life and back some control in my life and possibly find happiness.
True happiness...
With that in mind, I've made my decision. I turn back to TV and took his hand and firmly shook it. "I accept," I answered with my voice filled with resolve and determination.
"I see." Suddenly, a strange feeling starts running through my entire being. I then felt something enter my being. It felt strange yet powerful as I feel myself changing. A blue screen appears as I try to read it.
[Commencing Reincarnation in...]

I looked at TV one last time as I heard his last words.
"Good luck~!"
[1...]
Suddenly, a blinding flash of light came and everything became enveloped in white before my mind became blank, and lost consciousness.
Mark of a New Life: A Gamer Story
I wake up slowly to the feeling of sunlight on my face. Opening my eyes I'm greeted with the beautiful sight of clear blue skies and white clouds.
I quickly stood up and began scanning my surroundings, finding myself in the middle of wide luscious green hills and grasslands, some wild animals, and a few tent-like structures that looked oddly familiar somehow.
Over in the distance, I can see mountains as well. The view was beautiful as I allow my body and mind to relax as I try burning this amazing view into my memory.
After a few moments, I return from my relaxed trance and focused back on my situation again. Examining my appearance as I found myself wearing a white long-sleeved shirt with a gold ring on the front underneath a long green cloak with a hood, a pair of brown pants and a leather belt with gold accents, and brown boots.
I looked around and spot a river a short distance away and quickly ran towards it. Once there, I kneel and looked down to see my reflection. I looked to be a young teenage boy of medium height with light skin, brown hair, and emerald eyes. Above my head, I can see both my [Level], [Name], and [Title].
Lvl 1. Mark. {The Gamer}.
I stared down at my reflection, admiring my new appearance.
Looking closer, I noticed I look kinda similar to Keyaru's older form Keyaruga from Redo of Healer but with green eyes, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't look a little handsome.
Anyway, after that, I sat down and began thinking.
*Sighs*
"Okay. So I really have reincarnated huh? New body and such." I muttered, looking at my new hands. "Well, at least I'm not a baby that's for sure."
"Now then, that TV guy said I should have [The Gamer] ability, so shouldn't there be some sort of tutorial quest or something?" I muttered to myself. Right at that moment, a blue screen appeared in front of me as I began to read it.
Welcome Gamer!
You have been chosen by the High Being known as TV to be given possession of [The Gamer]. An ability originally created by the Gaia of "The Gamer" universe
The game system is a tool that can help its host reach unimaginable levels of power, depending on how the host plays the game.
...
Okay, I definitely have [The Gamer] ability. That, I can see right now.
So, now what?
Soon enough, another screen appears out of nowhere in front of me.
As with all other Gamers, the host is given the signature [Skills] for [The Gamer].
[Skill: [Gamer's Mind] gained!
[Skill: [Gamer's Body] gained!
[Gamer's Mind] (Passive). Level: MAX.
Description: Allows the user to calmly and logically think things through in most circumstances. Allows a peaceful state of mind. Immunity to psychological and mental status effects, prevents possession.
[Gamer's Body] (Passive). Level: MAX.
Description: Grants a body that allows for the user to live the world like a game. Pain from damage does not last more than a few seconds. Sleeping restores HP, SP, MP, KI, PE, and heals all temporary status effects.
A new [Skill] has been created through a special action.
The [Skill: [Observe] has been created.
[Observe] (Active). Level: 2 - EXP: 1.52% - Cost: 10 MP.
Description: A skill to observe objects, situations, and beings that allows the user to quickly gather information. The higher the skill, the greater the data obtained. The greater the amount of knowledge and insight the user has, the more information can be displayed.
-Also affected by INT and WIS.
Just as I expected. [Gamer's Mind] and [Gamer's Body], however, the third skill did surprise me.
After reading each [Skills]' description, I can safely say their legit and will be incredibly useful to me in the future.
Both [Gamer's Mind] and [Gamer's Body] basically turn me into a video game character, allowing me to interact and perceive the world around me as if it were an actual video game and much more.
Getting [Observe] right at the start was a surprise to me, however, I'm not complaining either. Perhaps I've learned the [Skill] from observing my new environment and that the game didn't show me until now.
Anyway, back to where I was. [Observe], as said in its description, will allow me to observe and gather information on my target whether it is an object, person, etc.
As of right now, it's at [Level 1] and if I remember correctly, I'll only be able to see the maximum [HP] and [MP], now along with my [SP], [KI], [PE], and some knowledge of my target. I'll be sure to level it up so that I can get more information in the unforeseeable future as I go.
After gaining and reading up on my two first and primary [Skills, plus my newly learned one, a new screen appeared before my eyes as I began to read.
[Quest Alert]!
[Tutorial: How To Play!]
Description: You have become a Gamer and now you must learn how to use your new ability as [The Gamer]!
Objective: Learn how to use your Gamer ability.
Reward: 600EXP, 2000G, [Skill Book: [Mana Manipulation, [Skill Book: [Ki Manipulation, [Skill Book: [Psychic Energy Manipulation]
[Accept (Y)/Decline (N)]
"Hmm."
My first quest and it's a tutorial, huh? Well, doesn't hurt to learn and understand my Gamer ability even though I have general knowledge regarding said ability. With that, I press [Accept (Y)], accepting the quest.
[Quest] has been accepted.
Beginning [Tutorial].
Alright, let's do this!
As [The Gamer] you are able to perceive and interact with the world similar to that of a video game.
As such, you have the body and mind similar to a video game character and have the capabilities of one.
You will learn how to use your ability starting with opening your [Status Window, allowing you to view your [Stats].
Say or think 'Status' to bring up your [Status Window].
'Status,' I thought, blinking at seeing the screen that appeared in front of me.

Wow! Looking through my Status Window I can see my name, age, race, level, and other stuff here so that's good. It seems like my Class is locked for some reason and I'm fifteen again too.
Looking through my stats I can honestly say they're pretty okay and expected except for my LUK, which surprised me a little at first, but quickly got over it. Also, it seems I got 10 Stat Points, but I'll save those for later use in the future.
Now, to clarify my main [Stats] here first to refresh my mind here, those stats being; [STR], [VIT], [DEX], [INT], [WIS], [CHA], and [LUK].
[STR], short for Strength, measures the amount of physical strength and power I have and affects how much of physical power I can dish out. It also affects how much I can lift, push, and such.
[VIT] and [DEX] are the Vitality and Dexterity modifiers respectively.
[VIT] essentially governs the amount of vitality, stamina, and maximum amount of [HP], [SP], and [KI] I have. It also affects the amount of [KI Resistance] I have as well as my [HP, [SP], and [KI] regeneration stats.
[DEX] governs my overall speed, reflexes, reaction time, coordination, body awareness, and aptitude for acrobatics and flexibility.
[INT] is my Intelligence modifier and it governs my memory, learning speed, and the amount of Mana and Psychic Energy or [PE] I possess.
It also measures the amount of power I have in using Magic and Psychic Powers. As far as can tell, seems legit, I suppose. I sometimes thought of having some potential but didn't really think much of it, plus I'm a little lazy, so yeah.
[WIS] is the Wisdom modifier and governs my ability to make correct decisions, how I use my knowledge, and my resistance to magical and psychic attacks and effects via [MAG. RES] and [PSY. RES], and my [MP] and [PE] regeneration.
My [WIS] is pretty spot-on as in my previous life, I sometimes tend to passively make good decisions and even good advice.
[CHA] is my Charisma modifier and it most likely governs my ability in interacting and communicating with people, my way with people, and how I appear to other people.
The [LUK] stat my Luck Modifier and it obviously governs my overall luck which can affect many things, from the rate and quality of [Item Drops] to increasing the chances of landing [Critical Hits], [etc].
I once heard somewhere that some people think Luck is a useless stat to increase, but for me personally, I think it's a good stat to increase and that it has potential and be pretty useful if used properly.
Finally, I come to my [Stat Points] and [Currency] which are pretty self-explanatory. Stat Points can be used to increase one of my main stats by one per [Stat Point] and [Currency] simply shows the amount of money or whatever form of currency I currently carry as of this moment, I'm pretty much dirt poor right now. Suddenly, another screen appears and quickly read it.
Stats can be increased by performing special actions, training, completing [Quests], or by using [Stat Points] gained when leveling up.
It makes sense and is to be expected as with my Gamer ability, I can also increase my stats naturally by simply doing special/certain actions such as making wise decisions, training or exercising, studying, etc.
After looking through my [Status] and explaining to myself what each stat does I dismiss my [Status Window] before moving on to the next part of the tutorial as another screen appears in front of me once more.
Now that you've seen your [Status] let's move on to [Skills]. Please say or think 'Skills'.
'Skills' I thought as my [Skill List Window] appears.
Skills:
[Gamer's Mind] (Passive). Level: MAX.
Description: Allows the user to calmly and logically think things through in most circumstances. Allows a peaceful state of mind. Immunity to psychological and mental status effects, prevents possession.
[Gamer's Body] (Passive). Level: MAX.
Description: Grants a body that allows for the user to live the world like a game. Pain from damage does not last more than a few seconds. Sleeping restores HP, SP, MP, KI, PE, and heals all temporary status effects.
[Observe] (Active). Level: 6 - EXP: 1.52% - Cost: 10 MP.
Description: A skill to observe objects, situations, and beings that allows the user to quickly gather information. The higher the skill, the greater the data obtained. The greater the amount of knowledge and insight the user has, the more information can be displayed.
-Also affected by INT and WIS.
Yep, everything seems good I suppose. Both [Gamer's Mind] and [Gamer's Body] will be essential and of great help to me as is [Observe] which will allow me to gain some more information on my targets once I level it up high enough. After all, knowledge is also power too that I can use to my advantage.
Now that you've seen your [Skills, next it's time to see your [Inventory].
As 'The Gamer', your [Inventory] will allow you to store and equip items from weapons, armor, clothing, materials, etc.
Within the [Inventory], your equipped weapons, armor, and clothing will be shown on the left side of the screen.
Say or think 'Inventory' to bring up your [Inventory Window].
'Inventory' I think to myself, this time, staring at the new screen that had appeared in front of me at the thought. The new screen mostly consisted of various boxes on the right side while on the left was a picture of my new appearance. I take a closer look at my clothes to find that they have zero defense or durability stats, nothing. I guess they're my starting clothes huh? Well, that's fine, I can just get some armor later on once I get one.
Also again, I look pretty good personally and do look similar to Keyaruga.
Anyway, after admiring my new appearance for a moment I close my [Inventory Window] and move on to the next part of the tutorial.
Now to finish this Tutorial, access your [Quests]. [Quests] accepted are displayed in this [Menu] and will allow you to keep track of your progress with them.
Say or think 'Quests' to bring up your [Quest Window].
'Quests'
The screen that appeared was fairly empty with just the [Quest: 'Tutorial: How To Play!'] sitting at the top with (Complete!) appearing to the right of it before a new screen appears.
Quest Complete!
[Tutorial: How To Play! (Complete!)]
Upon completing the tutorial, I heard multiple pings sound as message boxes appeared in front of me.
Level up! You have gained two levels! 1=} 3!
You have gained 10 Stat Points!
You have unlocked [BGM]! See [Options] for more details.
I am going to enjoy listening to some background music of my [BGM] tab within the [Options Menu], showing many music and songs I've listened and heard. I can feel my body and power increase slightly after leveling up twice. It felt good. Anyway, after my short mental celebration, I dismiss the notifications before grabbing the three [Skill Books] from my Inventory.
[Skill Book: [Mana Manipulation, [Skill Book: [Ki Manipulation, [Skill Book: [Psychic Energy Manipulation].
I place them on the ground and began to use [Observe] on each.
[Skill Book: [Mana Manipulation].
Description: A book containing knowledge on how to manipulate Mana (MP) and be able to use magic.
-Learn [Skill: [Mana Manipulation].
[Skill Book: [Ki Manipulation].
Description: A book containing knowledge on how to manipulate and use Ki Energy (KI).
-Learn [Skill: [Ki Manipulation].
[Skill Book: [Psychic Energy Manipulation].
Description: A book containing knowledge on how to manipulate Psychic/Psionic Energy (PE) and use Psychic/Psionic powers and abilities.
-Learn [Skill: [Psychic Energy Manipulation].
Upon observing each book, I proceed to learn each [Skill] from them, starting with the first one, [Mana Manipulation].
You have acquired [Skill Book: [Mana Manipulation]. Would you like to learn this skill? [Y/N]
I press the yes button and I started as the book was enveloped in bright light before I absorbed said light. As the light died down and the window disappeared automatically and I became aware of the magical energy swirling inside of me and the knowledge of how to manipulate it filled my mind. As I began to marvel at the sensation of it –it was like a warm limb or power deep inside my core waiting to be used– a notification followed by another screen appeared.
You've obtained the [Skill: [Mana Manipulation]!
[Mana Manipulation] (Passive). Lvl MAX.
Description: Allows the user to freely manipulate Mana which is the energy within most living beings. Grants the ability to use or cast Magic.
-Passively increases INT by 10%.
-Passively increases Mana pool by 10%.
Dismissing it, I bring up my [Status Window] and checked my stats. The results were as I expected.

As I expected, my maximum MP went from 425 to 468 due to the 10% boost to both my INT and the other 10% boost to it from my newly acquired [Mana Manipulation] skill. My PE pool also got a boost making it 425 as well.
With this, I can now create and use [Magic] which will very much help me when I end up needing to fight and such. Currently, I have no spells on me yet, but that can be fixed soon enough and I'll start creating my spells after I finish learning the rest of the [Skill Books].
After finishing my thoughts, I went and pick up the next [Skill Book], [Ki Manipulation], and like before; it was enveloped in bright light before absorbing said light once more as I can feel the flow and sensation of both my own Ki energy and the knowledge of manipulating it being transferred into my very mind.
You have obtained the [Skill: [Ki Manipulation]!
[Ki Manipulation] (Passive). Lvl MAX.
Description: Also known as Chi Manipulation. Allows the user to freely manipulate Ki which is the latent life force energy within most living beings. Grants the ability to use Ki-based techniques and abilities.
-Passively increases STR by 10%.
-Passively increases VIT by 10%.

After that, I move on to the final book on [Psychic Energy Manipulation] and learned my final [Skill].
[Psychic Energy Manipulation] (Passive). Lvl MAX.
Description: Also known as Psionic Energy Manipulation. Allows the user to freely manipulate Psychic or Psionic Energy which is the latent energy of the mind within most living beings. Grants the ability to use Psychic-based abilities or PSI.
-Passively increases INT by 10%.
-Passively increases PE by 10%.
I felt myself getting a bit stronger as I brought my [Status] once more to see that my Max. MP and PE have gotten slightly bigger. Both my Magic and Psychic Powers have also gotten a boost, now standing at 27. I smiled a little proudly seeing this before dismissing away the [Status Window].
Once again scan my current surroundings, still finding myself in the middle of open green plains. I can also see some mountains and forests along with a few animals such as deer, rabbits, and such over in the distance.
Looking down I spot a small rock and I decided to test out [Observe] for the first to see for myself out of curiosity really.
[Rock (Small)]
Description: A small mass of stony material commonly found in the open.
I grin upon seeing this and began moving around and spamming [Observe] on anything around me to quickly level up the [Skill]. After observing anything I could spot including the animals, I managed to get [Observe] to level 2 which made me feel proud of myself.
Getting back to focus, I sat down on the ground near the stream to think about the obvious question that's been bothering me since coming here.
Where am I?
Suddenly, a new screen appeared and I quickly began to read it.
[Quest Alert]!
[Quest: Where am I?]
Description: You have no clear idea as to what world you've woken up in and wish to know the answer to that question.
Objective: Find out where you are!
Reward: 800EXP, 3000G, [Item: [Vulnerary] x5, [Weapon: [Iron Sword (FE), [?, [?, [?]
[Accept (Y)/Decline (N)]
After looking over it, I accept it as I thought about the rewards for it.
More experience and money, possibly gold or gold pieces if the '[G]' is an obvious indication. I'll also be getting my first weapon and that unknown one too. I still have no idea where I am still.
I have no clues or hints other than the one that TV guy said about this world being one I'm familiar with, however, that could be anything world I could be in right now.
Based on what I've seen so far, there's a likely chance that I'm potentially in some fantasy world like [Fairy Tail], [Final Fantasy], and such. Thinking to myself about it for a bit, I decided to figure this out later so I'll worry about that in the future.
I look around to check for anyone nearby and after finding no one I sat down on the ground, touching the green-bladed surface of the plains with one hand as I relaxed for a bit. Afterward, I decided to try and figure out a plan on what to do first.
After a while, I decided that I should try and find a nearby town or city for an inn to eat and sleep at and to gather information so that I may find clues as to where I am. I'll also need to learn how to fight and defend myself, meaning I'll have to create some [Skills] to at least protect myself in case I encounter any wild animals or possibly bandits even.
Standing up, I thought of what [Skills] I'd need to create. Searching hard through my memories, I remember the 'Mana Power Attack' or 'Energy Bolt' skill created by Han Jihan from the original Gamer manhwa (Korean Manga) and decide to try and recreate it.
Closing my eyes, I try putting mana into my palm and willing it to come out, feeling the magical energy as my hand begins glowing. It felt amazing for a moment before quickly focusing back on making the skill.
Spotting a nearby tree I extend my glowing hand forward as I aim my palm toward it before emitting a blue blast of energy, hitting the bark and leaving a charred spot. I smiled proudly at my handiwork and as expected a new screen suddenly appeared before my eyes.
A skill has been created through a special action.
You have gained the [Skill: [Energy Bolt]!
[Energy Bolt] (Active). Level: 1 - EXP: 5.35% - Cost: 10 MP
Description: A skill that attacks by emitting mana. Attack power is increased by INT.
-Range is equal to 10 Meters Skill Level
-Deals magical damage of 150% of (INT x Skill Level)
Satisfied at seeing this, I dismiss the window away and thought about my newly acquired [Skill]. This would be my very first spell and means of defending myself as I can attack from a distance. Also, as the description says, the attack power this skill does is increased by my INT, meaning it'll do more damage the higher my INT is.
This skill alone won't be enough but it's a start at least, plus I can easily level it up once I get into training with it. With that said, I turn to see the tree I shot at and feeling a little excited, decided to shoot two more for the fun of it, cause why not?
"[Energy Bolt]!" I shouted as I shot another blast of mana, watching it hit the same spot as my first one.
"[Energy Bolt]!" Again, I shot my third one as I grinned wildly, it felt exhilarating being able to do this. After that little adrenaline high, I then began thinking about what to create next.
Thinking about what to make, I recall Jihan's Mana Rope and Bind skills and decided to try and replicate them, seeing as I'll need some support skills to help me in battle or for other situations I may come across.
I close my eyes and began by gathering mana into my hand. After gathering enough mana, I then try willing it to expand and flatten it as I watch it take shape, forming a rectangular barrier made of mana before my very eyes.
Upon seeing this, I mentally celebrated and squealed in happiness before [Gamer's Mind] activated, calming me down.
Drawing out my mana once more, I tried shaping my mana, twisting and stretching it to the best of my ability. I watch as my mana twist and stretches, becoming a rope made of mana.
Seeing this, I silently try moving it left and right. Smiling at this, I then try extending its length as I once again felt proud and amazed upon seeing this. After that, as I expected, a couple of notifications and my new [Skill]'s screen appear in front of me as I begin reading them.
A new [Skill] has been created through a special action.
You have gained the [Skill: [Mana Rope]!
[Mana Rope] (Active). Level: 1 - EXP: 0.00% - Cost: MP Varies

-DUR of physical durability is equal to 150% of INT x Skill Level.
-Duration: (2 x Skill Level) minutes.
-The length of the rope is equal to 2 x (MP Cost) Meters.
Nice. This skill will definitely be useful for me in the future, thus I now have a good support skill added to my arsenal. It felt great.
And finally, my last skill for the day. I look around and spot the same tree I hit with [Energy Bolt] as I walked forward and approached it. I stop as I stood a few inches. I clench one of my hands into a fist and readied my fist back. I closed my eyes and punched the tree as hard as could. As expected, I felt pain surge through my hand.
-19 HP
I quickly held my injured hand with my left one, wincing from the stinging pain as I try my best to endure it. As the stinging pain slowly subsides and my hand almost instantly fixes itself, I get a notification and began reading.
A new [Skill] has been created through a special action.
You have gained the [Skill: [Physical Resistance]!
[Physical Endurance] (Passive) Level: 1 - EXP: 0.30%

Perfect. With this skill, I'll be able to take a little more damage and eventually tank more damage in the future once it's at higher levels. I look around to see if anyone was around and saw none.

I checked my status and after seeing that everything was good, I closed it and then took a look around, relaxing a bit as I slowly try taking in the clean and beautiful scenery before me.
I should probably try to level up my skills but for now, I'll relax for a while. I raise my head and watch the clear blue sky above.
'This world is beautiful..'
After relaxing a bit I spent the next few hours practicing and trying to level up my [Skills]. Starting first with [Observe] by spamming it on anything I saw, managing to gain three level-ups for it. I rested for 15 minutes to recover my MP before moving on [Energy Bolt].
I then began practicing the Skill, using any trees I found close by as targets and taking 15-minute breaks in between sessions to recover my mana. I managed to get [Energy Bolt] to Lvl 5. After that, I dropped and lay on the grassy plains for an hour to catch my breath, both sweaty and tired. And thus, ending my first skill training session.
As I lay down and rested on the ground, I thought about what I should do next. I still have no clue as to where I am and I'll need to find someplace to stay for tonight. With that in mind, I got up and began moving forward. The sun is still up and I'll need to find a city or someplace before dark rolls in.
Along the way, I decide to use [Observe] a little bit while taking in the natural sights around me. In the end, I managed to earn one level, bringing [Observe] up to Lvl 6.
I slowly start getting bored as I continued walking forward and tried distracting myself by looking around my surroundings.
Eventually, I stumble upon a river and proceed to wash my face and drink some of the water. Afterward, I look around and spot something up ahead.
Seeing this, I quickly started running toward it, hoping to see what it is. I kept running forward while staying close to the side of the river. As I start to get closer, at the distance I can see the river split and see multiple wooden bridges from afar.
I stop near one of the bridges to catch my breath and then get a notification soon after.
Due to running repetitively, you gained 1 VIT!
I smiled upon seeing this and quickly dismissed it. I then turn my head and finally saw it. I stared amazed at the sight before my eyes. There, I saw what I believed to be possibly a large city situated within huge stone walls. A single large wooden gate can be seen wide open with guards at each side as I see people coming in and out of the place.
I continued to stare for a few moments as I stood still admiring the sight before me, it looked pretty impressive to me.
Finally, my very first city and other people here ever since I reincarnated and came to this world, where ever I am.
Now, I just need to go in and then find a place to stay for the night, then I can think and try to make plans for what to do next afterward. And so, that's what I'll do for now at least.
I cross through one of the bridges closest to me and made my way toward the city as I first head towards the gate. Once I reach the gate, I try entering through, but before I could enter, one of the guards saw me coming and stood in front of me.
"Halt. State your business, stranger." One of the guards spoke, looking at me with a stern expression. He was a tall man with tan skin and dark green hair. He wore tribal-like clothing of some kind with a sword hanging on his waist. Seeing as I can thankfully understand him, I carefully chose my words for a moment before answering him.
"I am lost and wish to find a place to stay for a while, sir." The guard slightly narrowed his eyes at me. Seeing as I'm not lying, he gestures his hand toward the entrance, signaling me to enter. "Very well, you may enter. Welcome to the city of Bulgar." I nod my head and enter the city.
Bulgar. Where have I heard that name before? Hmm... Wait. Bulgar. Could I be 'here'? I need to confirm this.
I stop to look around, watching people of varying kinds moving about their own business before spotting a man, likely a butcher at a stand selling meat nearby. I walk my way toward him and looked above his head to see his name and Level.
Lvl 11. John Butchers.
John Butchers? That's his name? Eh, I ain't judging. With that, I took a deep breath. Alright, here goes.
"Hello, excuse me, sir. May I ask you some questions, please?" I asked, keeping a composed expression on my face. Having heard my voice, the man turns around to face me. "Hm? You want somethin'?" The man responded, crossing his arms. He had a burly appearance, a bald head, and a brown thick mustache as he wore a green shirt, brown leather pants, and a brown apron with some blood on it.
"Yes, sir. I wish to ask you some questions." He looked at me for a moment and nodded his head. "Sure, ask away."
And so I asked. "Okay, could you tell me exactly where I am?" I watch him raise an eyebrow at me as he answered. "You're in the capital city of Bulgar here in Sacae."
For a brief moment, my mind stopped. And now to confirm if I'm right.
"Sacae, as in one of the six known countries of Elibe, right?" I asked him once more, the man just continues staring at me weirdly before answering. "Uhh... Yeah. Why? You from not around here?"
"I'm lost and let's just I'm not from around here." This was true as I'm technically not from Elibe or this world at all. So good for me.
"Uh-huh, I see. Anything else?" He asked me and began to do so. "Do you know where I can find an inn or place to stay? Also, can I buy some meat?" I asked him as he grins and then tells me where to go. I try pulling my money out from underneath my clothes to avoid suspicion and bring out a pouch containing gold coins. I paid him 20G and earned 2lbs worth of meat, which I happily accepted.
Just as I was about to go, I turn to him one with one last important question. "Hold on. What year is it again? I forgot." I asked him as he was shocked and looked at me weirdly once more but answered nonetheless. "Uhh... It's the year 979, the 24th of April, kid." Alright, that solves that. "Thanks!" Was all I said, before running off to the inn.
The man just watched with a raised eyebrow as the strange boy runs off toward the inn. "Strange kid..." He muttered before going back to cutting up meat once more as usual for the day.
I ran around with a pouch full of meat at hand following the man's directions before I finally found the inn, called the 'The Tender Home'.
I looked around to see if anyone was around before discreetly putting away my pouch worth of meat in my [Inventory] as I entered the wooden building and saw some other people too but I ignored them. I looked around and immediately walked up to the counter and asked for a room.
"Excuse me," I asked, a young woman with short brown hair turned to me as she began to speak. "Yes, may I help you?" She asked as I began asking her. "May I get a room for a week, please?" She smiled at me as she nodded her head. "Yes, that'll be 210G for one week, sir." I took out exactly 210G and gave it to her which she accepted, leaving me with only 1770G.
"Thank you very much, please follow me, sir." She walked out of the counter and I followed her right behind as she led me to my room. Once we made it to my room, I turned around to face her. "Thanks for bringing me here miss...uh...-" I started trailing off, not knowing her name but she simply giggled at me. "Mina. Just call me Mina."
"I see. Then call me Mark and thank you miss Mina." I thanked her as she gave me a nod and pleasant smile at me which I returned with my own before she left.
She was nice...
I open the door and enter as took a good look, scanning the room. It was a simple room with a bed, a wooden table, a couple of chairs, a round brown rug in the middle of the room, and finally, a window that gave me a clear view outside and showed me the streets.
I looked through the window as I watched the people from the native nomads and other foreign people walking around and minding their own business. I pull down the curtains and then slumped onto the soft bed.
The bed was pretty soft and had a single big white pillow and red blanket. I simply lay down and stretched a bit as I feel my muscles relaxing. I then begin thinking of what I've learned so far and I now know where I am right now.
I'm in the world of Fire Emblem 7, more specifically The Blazing Blade. Where I'll probably face a racist granduncle in an inheritance dispute, an organization of assassins that are secretly being taken over by a power-hungry madman, who wants to bring Dragons to absorb their life energy.
About 21 years later, the 'Disturbance of Bern' would soon come to full fruition, as Bern wages war upon the other nations of Elibe, lied by a King who wants to see humanity go extinct and bring back the dragons as well.
Yeah... That's a lot of shit to deal with alright. And I have to deal with all of that huh? But I still got some time to prepare before tackling all that at least.
And as expected, I get a notification and widely smiled upon seeing the quest completed.

You have gained [Item: [Gacha Token] x5!
I felt very proud and excited as I read the chain of notifications that followed and the rewards I gained, especially the last two rewards.
I brought up my [Inventory] and took out the sword as I tried to examine it. It looked like a generic iron sword with a brown hilt and iron pommel. I then try using [Observe] on it to check its information.
[Iron Sword (FE)] - ATK: 10/DUR: 46/46
Description: A basic single-handed iron sword that is commonly forged and sold. Decent in strength and very durable.
Type: One-handed Sword
Rarity: Common
Requirements: 8 STR
It's just as I expected, a basic sword that anybody can wield and a good first weapon for any beginner. Iron swords were always the cheapest and weakest weapon in the Fire Emblem series if I recall correctly and so far this sword seems to be in perfect condition and pretty durable too I think. I just stared at it for a few seconds more before putting it back in my [Inventory] and taking out a piece of beef, using [Observe] on it.
[Raw Beef]
Description: Raw fresh meat from cattle that's been cut and sold. Can be eaten or cooked.
Quality: Average
-Heals 50 HP.
"Heals 50 HP huh? Neat." I muttered, putting it back in my [Inventory]. I then turn to the left of the window to see the [Equipment] portion of my [Inventory]. I'm still wearing my green robes, so I wonder. Can I do it? Let's see!
I place my finger on my green robe's icon and drag it to an empty box in my [Inventory] and placed it there. Immediately my green robes disappear which left me amazed. I then took out one of the [Random Skill Orbs] and held it in my hand. It was a glowing white glass ball. I then shot a quick silent [Observe] and read its info.
[Random Skill Orb]
Description: A powerful orb that can grant a random skill, power, or ability when used. The [Rarity] and [Level] of the [Skill] depend on the user's [Luck].
I then open up my [Status Window] and checked my current stats.

As of now, my LUK is 21 so I'll hold off using the orb till my LUK is at a higher number. Preferably around a hundred at least. Anyways, I take a closer look at my stats and noticed a few things. My [Class] is locked, requiring me to reach Level 5. Currently, my highest stat is INT with LUK following after.
I look further and see my accumulated Stat Points and the amount of money I have. I take one G out and take a closer look at the currency of this world, a gold coin with the capital 'G' on each side, before putting it back. I always wondered what the currency looked like.
I then look at my Stat Points, and seeing as I have 25 I decide to use some of them. I'll need more HP and physical attack power and so add 5 points to STR and 10 to VIT bringing them to 18 and 24 respectively. I also add 5 points to my DEX, just to be safe. After that, I mentally dismiss both my [Status] and [Inventory] and stare at the ceiling to think.
So what should I do now?
*Knock!
*Knock!
*Knock!
Before I could go further, I'm suddenly interrupted by my thoughts as I heard someone knocking behind my door.
"Hello, Mr. Mark. May I come?" Hearing Mina's voice, I gave "Sure" as I watch her enter my room. She gave me a small smile to which I happily returned. "So how're liking your stay here, Mr. Mark?" She asked as I take moment before responding. "It's pretty nice so far. Also, just call me Mark, no need for formalities okay?" I assured her.
She turns to me, still smiling. "Well in that case, just call me Mina then, sound good?"
"Sure" I answered without a second thought as we continued talking. "So, what brings you all the way here to Bulgar, if I may ask?" She asked curiously. Thinking about it, I choose my words for a moment to answer her question. "To tell you the truth, I didn't know where I was going and just so happen to find myself here, actually. Hehe..." I awkwardly said, causing her to giggle.
She gasped and looked at me shocked. "Are you serious?!" I nodded my head in confirmation. "Wow... So you just ended up here on your own? How?" She asks as I gave her a shrug and continued. "I really couldn't tell honestly. I just wandered until I eventually found myself here."
Mina looks at me in thought for a moment before she replied. "I see... So what are you going to do now?" She asked, a little curious. I take a bit to select my words and answer. "Well, I think I'll stay here for a while, maybe two or three weeks, buying supplies, exploring here a bit, and such." She gives a smile my way and chatted about random things. Soon enough, the sun began setting down and I decided to get some dinner with Mina accompanying me.
We made our way to the hall of the inn. I took my seat at a nearby table and asked for a meal of chicken and water from Mina to which she accepts and told one of the waitresses, a girl slightly shorter than her with blonde hair, amber eyes, and a cute face, before heading back to her work.
I sat waiting for what felt like hours, which was actually thirty-two minutes before the waitress returned with my meal in hand. I paid her 30G and thanked her as she bowed and smiled politely before tending to the other people.
I looked down at my meal and took my time admiring it, which consisted of a few pieces of roasted chicken and a glass of water. As a former Filipino who ate most of his meals with rice, it felt weird eating without it. I take a bite and immediately I began eating it all fast down to the very bones. It also made me realize how hungry I really was. I drank my glass of water and was about to head to my room until...
"Hey~! Come on don't be shy! Let's have some fun, you and me~."
"Please let go!"
I heard some sort of commotion over at another table I think. I turn around and spot a couple of men harassing one of the working waitresses here, probably drunk. One of them, a brown-haired guy with a drunk perverted face, started grabbing her arm tightly, preventing her from leaving. "Come on, just a little while~!"
[Quest Alert]!
[Quest: Call For Help!]
Description: One of the waitresses of the inn is being harassed by two drunk perverted thugs. Won't you answer her call for help?
Objective 1: Save the waitress from them.
Objective 2: Defeat the drunkards! (0/2).

Reward 2: 800EXP, 1600G, [Material: [Red Gem] x2
[Accept (Y)/Decline (N)]
I quickly accept my decision already made as I returned to the scene before me.
"No!" She shouted, trying to pry her arm from him. Soon enough, people nearby turned their attention toward the scene. Seeing this, I took a moment to breathe and decide to help out before things escalate. I quickly make my way toward the scene.
I used [Observe] on each of them and saw their info.
[Nach. Lv.5]

MP: 200/200
[Biff. Lv. 6]
HP: 220/220

"Let her go already. You're drunk and she obviously doesn't want to, okay." I said calmly, trying to diffuse the situation. However, things weren't going to be easy as I expected. The other one, a slightly taller guy with short dirty blonde hair and a goatee, turned to me with an annoyed expression on his face as he retorted. "Mind yer own business brat!"
I turn to the waitress who was looking at me with pleading eyes, silently asking for help before facing the two drunkards again. I took a deep breath and narrowed my eyes. Back in my previous life, the old me probably wouldn't have done anything and reluctantly ignored something like this, walking away.
"Again, let go of her. Now."
Because back then I couldn't do anything, even if I really wanted to. That sometimes left me guilty and frustrated.
"Heh. Make me!" The brown-haired one, Nach, taunted and tightened his grip on her. I watched as her arm started getting hurt as she struggled to free herself from him. I felt my anger rising and clenched my fists. Without warning, I punched him hard in the face with as much force as I could muster. Critical hit.
Critical Hit! -50 Damage!
"Gah!"
He screamed in pain and took a few steps back as he held his face with both his hands, releasing his hold on the waitress, and allowing her to get away. She gave me a grateful nod and ran off to the rest of her colleagues.
A skill has been created through a special action.
You have gained the [Skill: [Hard Punch]!
[Hard Punch] (Active) Level: 1 - EXP: 3.00% - 15 SP
Description: Allows the user to throw a harder punch to deal more damage.
-Deals 300% of (STR x Skill Level) physical damage on the target.
-Has 1% x Skill Level chance to [Stun] target.
I quickly dismissed them, focusing my attention on the thugs before me. The other thug, Biff, seeing his friend get punched, immediately turned to glare at me.
"Why... you son of a bitch!" I saw him come at me and quickly reacted as I manage to barely dodge a punch thrown at me. A good thing I increased my DEX.
I quickly retaliate and sent my newly acquired Skill [Hard Punch] at him, managing to hit him in the stomach. I saw him lose breath and sent another [Hard Punch] towards his face.
-25 Damage!
-25 Damage!
I watch as he recoils back from my punch. I then notice the other guy, Nach, had recovered and began to approach me, retaliating back. I acted immediately and used [Mana Rope].
"[Mana Rope]!"
I shouted and brought my hand forward as a 6-meter-long rope of mana shot out of my open palm catching him off guard and surprising the people around us, wrapping itself around him, tieing him up, and causing him to fall face first onto the ground. I watched as he struggles to free himself and received a notification.
The [Mana Rope] Technique, [Bind, has been created.

Techniques:
-[Bind] - Cost: MP Varies
Binds and immobilizes a target with a rope made of mana.
Quickly dismissing it, I came up in front of him and once again use [Hard Punch], hitting him in the face and this time knocking him out. I then turn to see the other thug, Biff, who had a look of shock and slight fear. Seeing his friend knocked out and on the floor tied up in my Mana Rope.
He tried to flee, but I used [Bind, to stop him and like his companion, I gave one final [Hard Punch] to the head and knocked him out cold. His body now playing on the ground, motionless and tied up.
I sigh a breath of relief before looking around and seeing the stunned crowd around me. I began feeling slightly nervous but kept a cool face, not losing any composure.
-Mina POV-
Mina couldn't believe what she just witnessed. About moments ago she saw one of her fellow friends and co-workers being harassed by two men, but then the young man whom she met before, Mark, intervened in the scene.
She watched as he told the thugs to let her friend go with a calm composure on his face. As the one holding her friend taunts him, she barely managed to see Mark punch him straight in the face, causing the drunkard to lose his grip, freeing her friend. She watched as her friend, May, gave Mark a quick bow before running to her and the rest of their colleagues in gratitude.
She then saw him dodge a punch from the other before sending another punch to 0his way, causing him to step back. Right as she was about to approach him, she noticed the other man recovering and began to retaliate, aiming to attack Mark.
Before she could shout out her warning toward Mark, the next that happened shocked not only shocked her but the rest of the inn staff and people.
She and others watched in shock and awe as a long blue glowing rope shot forth from his palm straight towards the man, wrapping around him and tieing him up in place. As they watch him struggle through his restraints, they then saw Mark come up and deliver a punch straight to his face and knock him out.
Mina couldn't believe what she just saw. What in all the world was that?! Was that magic? And without a tome? How?
Before she could think any further, she saw the other thug attempt to run away but like the other, was tied up by some kind of blue rope and knocked out on the ground cold.
She along with everyone else could only look at the young man in awe and disbelief. The same young man, no older than 14 or 15 years, manage to beat two older men without a single scratch on him and with a calm look on his face.
Seeing the crowd still staring at me, I gave a quick "Sorry about this" before walking straight back to my room in the inn. I quickly lock the door and lay on my bed as I look through the list of notifications I received.

By reaching Level 5, you have unlocked the [Class System]. The [Class System] works by assigning yourself a role that will grant you extra Points in certain Stats once a [Class] has leveled up. Currently, you can only select one [Class] at the moment but in the future, the option to gain extra ones may appear. New [Classes] may appear once you reach the correct Level in a prerequisite [Class(es)] depending on requirements. To gain EXP for a [Class] you either have to defeat enemies or perform tasks that fit with the chosen [Class] and each one's maximum Level is 50. To be able to change to a different [Class, the currently equipped [Class] needs to have reached Level 10. Currently, the [Classes] available are [Squire] and [Chemist].
[Squire] - A basic [Class] for those who fight at close combat. Passively increases physical damage dealt by 10%. Passively increases HP Regen by 10%. Grants 2 STR, DEX, and VIT per Level. Grants [Skill: [Battle Tech].
[Chemist] - A basic [Class] that focuses on using items in battle. Passively increases damage dealt by Potions/Elixirs by 10%. Passively increases healing by Potions/Elixirs by 10%. Grants 2 VIT, INT, and WIS per Level. Grants [Skill: [Potion Creation].
Sweet! An [Affinity] and a [Class System]! And if my memories serve me right this is probably based on the one from the [Final Fantasy Tactics] series and some fanfic I probably read before dying I suppose. Hmm... only two [Classes]. Which do I choose? Hold on...
"Status." And as expected, my [Status] screen appears as I check my [Stats].
My [Stats] seems to be how do I put it? Pretty decent. Seeing as I have a lot of MP and PE (Psychic Energy) I'll pick the [Chemist] class. Once I level up the class enough, I'll likely gain access to the White Mage and Black Mage classes. Also, that [Skill], [Potion Creation], can be very useful. With enough practice, I can make healing potions and other kinds for myself and others, and who knows, when I get better at it enough, I'll be able to sell them, likely as a merchant or such. And with that, [Chemist] class it is!
The [Class: [Chemist] has been chosen!
You have gained [Skill: [Potion Creation]!
[Potion Creation] (Passive) Level: 1 - EXP: 0%
Description: A skill that allows the user to combine organic [Material] and [Food] to create [Potions/Elixers] that offer a variety of benefits or dangerous effects. Tools may be required to make higher ranked [Potions/Elixirs].
-Increase speed of making [Potions/Elixers] by 1% x Skill Level
-Increase how effective [Potions/Elixers] are by 1% x Skill Level
Awesome. Now... About that [Affinity] of mine. Hmm... So I have an [Thunder] Affinity huh? So does that make me adept with lightning-based [Skills] and such? Let's see!
'Affinity' I thought and soon enough a new screen appeared before me as I read its contents.
[Affinity:
[Thunder/Lightning Affinity] - [1/100] (0/300) You are gifted with a natural understanding of the element of Lightning and are adept in using said element, allowing you to have easier control over it.
-Passively increase Lightning [Skills] by 10% x Affinity Level.
-Passively increase EXP for Lightning [Skills] by 25%
Sweet! With this, I'll become very proficient in using any lightning-based [Skills] which will help me a lot in this world. With that, I dismiss all the screens and simply dozed off into space, still in bed.
Suddenly, I hear a knock at the door and decide to let them in. Opening the door, I see Mina standing there smiling.
"Hello, Mark. May I please come in? I'd like to have a word with you." She asked. I nod my head and led her in. We both take a seat on the bed and sat there for a moment before she finally spoke. "Mark. I just wanted to thank you for saving my friend May back there, I'm really grateful." She thanked me but I shrug it off.
"Nah. Don't worry. I just did what I believed was right, okay?" I replied. And I meant what I said too. It was the right thing in my opinion and I don't regret it either. She gives a smile my way to which I return.
"Mark, could I ask you a question?" I nod my head and signaled her to continue. "What was that blue rope you used to restrain those guys with? Was it Magic? I've never seen anything like that before."
Wait. Does she mean... Oh right! Forgot I'm in [Fire Emblem 7]. She probably hasn't seen magic like that before, what should I do? Should I tell her?
Hmm... Ok. I guess I could tell her a bit and so I carefully choose my words and answered her question. "Yes. That was magic." She nods her head before continuing.
"I see... If it's so, then what kind of magic was that?" How can I answer this? In the GBA games, there are three main principal schools of Magic: [Light], [Anima], and [Dark] which would make up what is known as the [Trinity of Magic], and outside of that is [Stave Magic] which pretty much consisted of healing and supportive spells. Seeing her expectant face I quickly answer her question.
"It's called [Mana Rope]. It allows me to create a rope made of Mana energy that I can use to bind my enemies or use for any other tasks." I answered as best I could, however, she gave me a confused look.
"Ma-nah...?" I heard her mutter, seemingly unfamiliar with that term. Does she not know what Mana is? Now that I think about it, does anyone in this world even know what Mana is? Questions for later.
"Mana is a natural energy within people. It's what allows us to perform Magic, for me at least." I answered as best I could, being careful of my words. I give her a moment to process my words before smiling brightly my way.
"Really? Then are you perhaps a Mage, Mark?" I really don't wanna answer any further questions and so I gave my answer.
"Nope. I'm not really a mage actually." Not yet at least. But will be pretty soon in the future, once I level up the [Chemist] class and gain access to the [Black Mage] and [White Mage] classes. Anyway, she looked at me surprised for a bit, and continued speaking.
"Ah! Really? Well if you say so," She said, intrigued by my answer, and continued. "Anyway, how long have you been able to do this, Magic I mean." Ohohoho! I do wonder how she'll react to my answer.
"Actually, I've just started using magic and came up with that spell, [Mana Rope], today." On the outside my face was calm, but in reality, I was enjoying the hell out of this as I saw the flabbergasted look of awe and shock on her face. It took a few moments for her mind process my words before she finally spoke up.
"W-wha... Y-you're joking right?" I shook my head no, showing her I was serious. "W-wow. That's just amazing!" Mina said, looking at me in awe.
"So. What are plans here, Mark? If I may ask." Hmm. Good question. Well thinking about it for a bit, I already came up with a general plan in mind. For one, I plan to be stronger, at least for a bit, before meeting up with Lyndis here. Second, I'll have to gather some supplies of my own for the coming journey with her ahead. That includes [Weapons], [Food], etc.
Other than that I'll just spend my time exploring Bulgar, enjoying myself. I can also try gathering any information I find along the way. Anyway, I turn to Mina and decide to answer her question. "I'm planning on training myself for a bit and slowly gathering supplies. Other than that, I also wish to enjoy myself and explore the city for a while."
"Really now? Then how about I offer to show you around then? It'll be pretty fun. Also, May wanted to thank you as well so you should see her before we go." She said, waiting for an answer.
After thinking about it for a bit, I decide to accept. Because why not? "Sure, I accept your offer. Thank you very much." I gave a smile her way which she returns with one of her own. "Good. I'll ask from my boss that May and I will take a day off tomorrow. I'm sure he'll understand once I tell him, especially after what you did." I see. I should probably pay him a visit on my way. Afterward, we engage in a few small talks, enjoying ourselves, before returning to her duties. I simply laid back on my bed and thought about my first day here.
I used to be a nobody. Just another face within the sea of crowds and nobody would've cared much. The exceptions probably being my family and whatever friends I had. And then the next thing I knew, I die, get approached by some really strange being, and then get reincarnated as [The Gamer] in another world. A world I once thought of as nothing more but fiction. That being a video game, and one that I'm quite familiar with no less.
Now... I've been given a new opportunity, a second chance to live a new life and I don't plan on wasting it. I'll become stronger and fight whatever obstacle that stands in my way!
I'll live my life in whatever way I want. I wanna go on adventures, and explore new places! I wanna make new friends and family! I wanna the ocean, see the skies, and then further beyond the horizon! And now... I have the power to do so! I'm free to do whatever I wish, and nobody can tell me otherwise.
Back in my old life, I think, I always tend to say to myself 'I'll do it soon' whenever I had something or a task, but never did much on it. Why? Was it because I was lazy? Was it because I felt reluctant to do so? Was it both? Probably. But, perhaps the main reason is that deep down...
I was afraid.
Afraid that it'll be good enough. It's probably the same reason I preferred staying away from most groups and always staying at home most of the time. Never bothering to do much...
... But not anymore. Now. I have been given the ability, the power to grow. Infinite potential to become more. And that gift being, The Gamer.
I get off the bed and walk towards the window. Through the window, I look up and watch the beautiful night sky. Admiring the stars above, like shining jewels. I clench my fists hard as my face took on a determined expression.
'This world truly is beautiful...'
It's a whole new world out there. One I intend to explore and venture forth. Whatever path I may take will be by my own choices. I took a deep breath and finally spoke my words.
"Look out Elibe! Cause sooner or later, I'm about to take you by storm. Just wait!" I said, my voice filled with resolve and determination. It felt great, after saying those words. I admire the view of the city and night sky one last time before heading back to my bed. I close my eyes and let the slow embrace of sleep take over.
Tomorrow's another day and I'm looking forward to it.
Meanwhile...
In the middle of the night, two familiar men are seen conversing with someone in an alley within the city of Bulgar.
"I'm tellin' ya Mack! Some kid beat the crap out of us and knocked us out cold, honest!" One of them, Nach said, detailing his and Biff's encounter with the boy.
"It's true! He even used some strange magic, creating some kind of rope to tie us up. I've never seen anythin' like it!" The other, Biff added as both of them stood before the now-known Mack.
Said person's appearance was obscured, hidden within the shadows of the dark alley. He hummed in interest upon hearing this information. "Interesting. Did you get his name? What did the kid look like?" He asked, his interest peaked. He wanted to know more about this boy.
The two goons nervously looked at each other before answering his question. "N-no... But he had brown hair and green eyes."
"I see. Then we'll wait a bit. Let him enjoy what little time he has left. You'll have your payback soon, I'll have my fun with this kid too. Hehe he..." He said, chuckling and the two soon join in. They'll pay back this kid soon enough.
End of [Prologue: [START]
A/N: And that ends the prologue of this story. I hope you all enjoyed this and I'm sorry for not updating for so long! I've just been dealing with a lot of shit going on. Schoolwork and such had been keeping me preoccupied as well as a lot of procrastination and a little bit of depression. But, it's fine now.
Anyway, if you want. Please leave a review and tell me what you think about this story. Also, which one of the following songs is the [Opening] song for this fanfic?
[Fairy Tail: [Snow Fairy] or [Black Summoner: [頭ん中DEAD END]?
The one with the most votes shall be the one! And with that, I take my leave.
SMG-2, signing off!
