As the students walked, ran and skipped to their new school, they didn't notice the person standing in the shadows across the road; watching them.
The person searched the faces of all the students that headed towards the security gate of UA High. Their eyes stopped as they spied a young girl with red hair and bright blue eyes. The girl grinned and laughed, waving her arms at the young girl walking next to her.
An older boy walked up to the red head girl and tapped her head with his knuckles. The girl flinched and shouted at him.
"-you're my big brother!"
Most of the conversation was cut off, except that part.
As the girl, her brother and the other girl got to the gate, a man stood at the entrance greeting all the students into the school; particularly the first years students.
The person in the shadows shifted their eyes from the red head girl to the tall man standing at the gate, as they started to speak.
"-didn't realize you were a teacher!"
The man nodded and replied in a quieter tone so the person couldn't hear.
"-so great! -et to class! -ater!" The girls waved and the boy followed.
The person in the shadows kept their eyes on the man. The man stopped and looked over to where they were standing. Their eyes locked and neither turned away.
"-ster. Mr Todoroki?"
"Hm?" He looked down to see the girl with red hair had come back. "What's wrong? Is everything alright?"
The girl smiled and nodded. "Oh. Yes. I just thought I'd tell you that..." She shifted her feet.
"Yes?"
"Well, you should smile more. It's better when you smile."
Todoroki blinked. "Huh."
The girl blinked back. "What?"
"Oh...nothing. It's just..." He looked over to the alleyway where the person once stood. "Someone told me something similar, a long time ago."
"Who was it, Mr Todoroki?"
He turned back to the girl and smiled. "Someone I was once close with. In fact, I believed we were friends."
A question mark appeared above the girls head. "'Believed', sir?"
He shook his head, still smiling but sadly. "Get to class, Akina. I'll be in after I get the stragglers."
Akina blinked, but nodded and turned to go inside. "One person will probably be late!"
"Iida, yes I'm aware."
Akina grinned as her friends name came easily from her teacher and she ran to catch up with the others, oblivious to what had subtly transpired minutes prior.
Todoroki dropped his smile slightly and looked back over to the alleyway across the road. He waved absently at the students, while continually searching the entrance with his eyes.
The school bell rang, and he blinked and shook his head. He waited a few more moments, then sighed and started to head inside.
"-IT!"
Todoroki smiled slightly and turned around.
"-AIT!" A boy with long brown hair, messed up from the speed he was going, sped to the entrance and stopped, huffing in front of Todoroki. "Thanks...for...waiting..."
"You're going to wear out your engines if you keep overdoing it."
"Heh." The boy scratched the back of his head. "That's what dad said too, before-"
"-he scolded you for always being late?"
He grinned. "I just need to take it easy, that's all."
"Or you could start getting up early instead, Tatsuya."
The boy huffed, then shifted his body around Todoroki. "I should be getting to class. See you later!" He waved and trotted inside.
Todoroki shook his head, but smiled.
Tojo lay awake, thinking about the day ahead. He knew what he had to do, but he wasn't exactly keen on doing it, but the curiosity was what pushed him to agree in the first place.
He sighed and got up to make coffee.
Hara rolled over, still asleep.
"Kitia..."
Tojo looked at him sadly for moment before heading out to the kitchen.
"Is Hara still...?"
Tojo nodded and sat down at the counter as Doc placed a mug of strong coffee down.
Tojo dragged his hands down his face and looked at Doc. "You think he'll ever.." He didn't finish the sentence and just looked away.
Doc leaned against the sink, facing Tojo. "I don't think any of us have, or will ever, 'get over it'."
Tojo looked down at his mug. "I won't either. She was my best friend. I just...I feel guilty, but not because of her. She would understand."
Doc nodded. "Yes, she would. What she wouldn't understand is you putting yourself in danger."
Tojo flinched. "You know about that?"
"Mmmhm." He paused. "I've been searching too."
Tojo spat his coffee. "What?!"
"I don't have to answer to you..."
"But you could at least tell me!"
"Like you've told Hara?"
Tojo went silent, pouting. "You don't have to psychoanalyze me..."
"Of course I do. That's what family does." Doc put his hand on Tojo's shoulder and walked out the door of the old lab. He had slowly expanded is clinic to include counselling, though it was still in the same little building as it had been 25 years earlier.
Tojo finished his coffee and wrote out a note for Hara, before heading out himself.
He walked absently towards the place called The JunkShop. The JunkShop was fairly large one-story building on the edge of the district everyone called Atrocity.
Over the last 25 years, Atrocity had slowly built up as a district specifically for villains. It had gotten so the normality of the district was they were left alone majority of the time. When heroes or police entered Atrocity, it was to investigate someone who lived there or to send someone into the district to be a resident.
The JunkShop was run by a woman who claimed she had gone to UA High. Rumor around the Shackles (what residents called Atrocity), the woman was insane and brilliant, and extremely difficult to work for. The woman, who the residents called the Mad Fixer, only wanted things done her way, so she deliberately setup shop on the edge of the Shackles and the city. She sold her contraptions and inventions to both the Villains and the Heroes. She had no loyalties, and so nobody shut her down. Her shop was also somewhat of a safe zone. Only she was allowed to deal out the law.
Tojo entered the JunkShop, the bell gently sounding out, and he wandered slowly passed all the shelves of spare parts and trinkets towards the more advanced and put together inventions until he came to the front desk.
The Mad Fixer was there leaning on the desk, smiling and talking excitedly to a customer. Tojo was transfixed by the rapid movements of her hands, her bright eyes and singed hair, until he noticed the person in front of him. The person was covered head to toe in a black cloak, and they were turned away so he couldn't tell who it was.
"-should see the advancement I've made in-"
The person held up a gloved hand, silencing the Fixer.
"I'll be back the date we agreed." Then the person turned, pulling a mask over their face.
As they walked passed Tojo, he stared at them. The person never looked at him, even as he watched them leave.
"Who was that?" He asked, still staring at the door.
"Oh, you know." Mai Hatsume said absently. "You here for the necklace?"
Tojo turned his head, giving Mai a look. "You know why I'm here, Mai."
She laughed and handed him the necklace. "Just as you specified. It can project to a specific person." She eyed him. "Anyone in particular you plan on using this on?"
"Not you. Don't worry."
"Oh, I didn't mean me!" She grinned. "I've heard rumors, you know."
"Oh?"
"Yea. About a strange figure, spotted near UA."
"Urban legend. That's all that is."
Mai shrugged. "It's been 3 months since the school year started. A dark figure there twice a day. Always in the same spot, but nobody's been able to get close to it. Sounds like a really realistic urban legend to me."
Tojo eyed her, knowing what she was trying to do. "Don't start this again, Mai. I'm going to do this, and that's the end of it."
Mai's grinned dropped as she sighed. "I think you're making a mista-"
"Don't." Tojo said it so firmly, Mai just crossed her arms.
He unclipped the small pendant from the necklace, earning a strangled moan from Mai, and clipped it onto his own chain around his neck.
"You could've just said you only wanted that..." She muttered.
Tojo ignored her and dropped the leather on the desk. "I'll pay you later."
"Yea, yea." She waved her hand, but Tojo was already walking out the door.
"He still doesn't have a clue." Mai said as the bell went.
"He does. He just doesn't know if he should believe it."
Mai turned as the figure stood in the doorway of the backroom, hood covering their face.
"I don't want to be found just yet, Mai Hatsume. Make sure it stays that way."
Mai grinned. "Now, how many times have I told you to just call me Mai."
"Ugh, get off me, Toga!"
"But you're so cute, Violet!"
Toga squished Violet's face in her fingers, as Violet beat her head with her fists.
Snake-Arms rolled his eyes and shook his head, continuing to watch the monitors.
Dox sauntered over and sat on the edge of Snake-Arms desk. "What time was the appointment again?"
"It's happening now. Shigaraki, Dabi and Boss are trying to settle 'custody'." He made quotation marks with his fingers.
"Hmph. I still don't understand why we just don't take her." She whispered, eyeing Violet.
"You know why, Dox. Violet is way to strong for us to do that. It has to be willingly."
"Hmph." She looked around the small room. "So, who owns this building anyway? Is it that guy with the mask?"
Snake-Arms narrowed his eyes. "Don't even think about it."
Dox threw up her hands. "What? I might be able to convince them some other way..." She wriggled her eyebrows and Snake-Arms rolled his eyes again.
The door to the other room started to open and everyone turned around.
Shigaraki walked out first, followed by Boss then Dabi.
The silence stretched for a moment, until Violet spoke up.
"I'm not going with them, Dabi." She crossed her arms and stared at Boss defiantly.
Boss put up his hands. "Of course not. You're old enough to make your own decisions now. I do, however, wish to ask you to do something for me."
Violet narrowed her eyes. "Depends what it is."
"Shigaraki and the League have told you the truth, I assume?"
Violet nodded. "Everything from how I was conceived, how I ended up with them. I know you helped my mother and took me away." She tightened her jaw. "You betrayed my mother, and there's no reason you wouldn't do the same to me."
Boss watched her with his big, frog eyes for a moment. "Are you aware you have a twin sister?"
Nobody moved for a moment. Violet stared at him, then shot a look at Shigaraki. "He's lying. He's not lying? What..."
She turned on Dabi. "And why didn't you tell me this?!"
Dabi didn't blink. "I wanted too, but our ever tactful leader here decided to keep it from you."
Violet tried to stare Shigaraki down, but curiosity got to her. She looked back at Boss. "Why is it being brought up now? What do you want from me?"
Boss slowly grinned. "Well, I'm you glad asked. I have a mission for you and it's going to involve using all the cunning you possess."
Violet thought for a moment. "What kind of mission?"
"Is everyone here?"

"Yea, I think so. What are we doing?"
"No idea. Some kind of history reenactment or something?"
There was a strangled noise and everyone looked around.
Ryozo leaned against the teachers face in his hands, Mieko's hands flat on either side of him, grinning like the Chestershire cat.
Everyone watched for a moment, before going back to the conversation.
"What's the reenactment for?"
"Remember when they used to do the Sports Festivals?"
"No?"
"Well, you can search them online. Anyway, they stopped doing those and instead started doing these reenactments, like a play."
"What are they about, exactly?"
Sho sat on a desk, pushing her hair out of her face. "There's a urban legend that there was a student who infiltrated the school..."
Aya shifted uncomfortably and Sho waved her hand slightly. "No, it wasn't your dad. Everyone knows about that and what happened. No, this student was all but wiped from the school's records."
"Why?"
Sho shrugged. "Ryozo? Did your mum ever mention-"
Mieko had leaned closer and Ryozo was now sweating tears.
"Mieko..." Kaori stared at the purple haired girl until she threw her hands up and backed away.
"Ryozo?"
He slowly stood up and inched towards Sho. "I-uh...Well..." He was eyeing Mieko cautiously. "Sh-she did mention that all of us are the children of students of 1-A 25 years ago."
"Oh, really?! That's so cool!"
Sho shot Yei a look before turning back to Ryozo. "The reenactments are basically pillars of history. Things that happened that can never be erased, no matter how hard they try to bury it. Some of them are about All Might, before he lost his power; some are about Endeavor. Some are about the OG classes 1-A and 1-B-"
"Oh enough!" Eriko leaned back in his chair, rolling his eyes. "The OG classes aren't all they're cracked up to be, especially these days. They had their time, now its ours, and that's the end of it."
Yuko and Nishi glanced at each other. Everyone else all but ignored him, but kept quiet.
Amaya sat on Eriko's desk, blocking him from view. "Calm down. It's just gossip. Besides, I doubt they'd make you do the reenactments if they directly affect us anyway."
Eriko grunted, but didn't reply. Amaya grinned at him and turned to the others, clapping her hands. "So. What's this years anyway?"
Sho thought for a moment. "My dad said it might be something about Nomu's."
Eriko growled. "I'm not playing that-"
"Shush." Amaya put her hand up to him. He glared at her, but kept his mouth shut.
"What about the student? What happened to them?" Akina asked.
"She died." Everyone turned as Shoto Todoroki closed the door. "Seats, please."
Everyone went to their seats.
"But, what happened exactly?"
Todoroki put his head down, thinking.
"Who cares? It's not like it affects us now anyway." Eriko muttered.
"Well, you're wrong about that, Midoryia. However, this is a discussion for another time. The reenactments are coming up and I have a couple of retired Heroes here to talk to you."
Everyone sat up straight, even Eriko.
Todoroki called in two people; Rock Lock and Gang Orca.
"Oh! Did you guys know our parents?!"
Todoroki and the two Heroes shared a look, Todoroki stood straighter, putting on his teacher face.
"Any questions must be appropriate and respectful."
The man woke up in a panic. He had just had a nightmare. He had plenty of nightmares. Being a retired Hero, he had his fair share of shit; but that wasn't what the nightmare was about.
Breathing heavy, he got up and went to get a drink of water. He walked out the bedroom door and to the kitchen. Years ago, he had decided to permanently reside in his hero agency, even after he retired.
As he went back to his room, he looked down the corridor to a bedroom door down the very end. A room that held memories for him. A room he had blocked off over 20 years ago.
He walked slowly down the corridor and reached for the handle. He hesitated before opening the door. He stepped in and closed the door softly before sitting on the bed. He stared into the dark room, memories rushing as though he was watching a movie in fast-forwarded static.
The last image was of a young girl, sleeping in the bed he was sitting on.
He sighed and stood up. He opened the curtain of the window and jumped back, startled.
There was a figure standing there, black cloak waving in the wind. The hood was up over the persons' face, silver eyes glowing underneath.
"Nice to see you still remember, Endeavor. Makes this all the easier."
The person lowered the hood.
Endeavor shook his head in shock. "No. No, you're dead. You killed yourself."
Kitia shook her head, eyes never leaving his. "No, Endeavor. You killed me. You did this to me, and I've returned to make sure you never, ever forget."
