An overview of Camp Wawanakwa was held onto as the first words of the season were spoken by the host, "It's been fifteen years since our show first aired. So we've decided to take things back to basics, right here in this neglected yet surprise-filled summer camp located in Canada."
"As usual, our contestants will be taking on the fragile cabins, hungry bears that will be pulverized by hungrier animals," A bear could be seen getting chased by a couple of raptors, "Like the raptors who'll be overseen by our totally-capable staff," the host narrated before the raptors ran over an intern that tried standing in their way. The dinosaurs then stopped running and decided that they would jump all over and kick the knocked-down intern.
This saved the bear who ran to live another day.
"There's also the stinky outhouse we call a 'Confessional Room' and last but not least, Chef's barf-inducing food! No really, our staff members might even barf if we have an eating challenge with it!" The screen showed a tapeworm on a plate. The camera nodded in agreement to the comment made by the host.
"For this season, we'll have sixteen new contestants come onto the show and battle to win the coveted prize of One. Million. Dollars." Chris McLean walked out from behind one of the cabins and walked up to the camera with a wide smile.
Seconds later, he was buried by a pile of dollar bills that dropped from above. Luckily for the host, it didn't do much in hurting him and he popped out of it in fine condition.
"Whoever dropped that better be grateful that money and fame are the things that I like above anything else in life!" Chris angrily yelled up at whoever dropped the money onto him. He then faced the camera and walked out of the pile with an enthusiastic smile.
"That gaff aside, these contestants will have to get through one of the toughest seasons of Total Drama. This season will have dangerous challenges, people mentally breaking down in an entertaining fashion, and writing from someone who has an abnormal liking for making their characters suffer. That last one sounds like a story I'd write myself!" Chris exclaimed before chuckling at his own comment.
He then started walking toward the camera so he could wrap up this introduction, "I'm your host, Chris McLean. And this is-" The camera soon zoomed out in perfect sync with his next few words,
"Total!" The camera zoomed out to show Chris standing on the dock.
"Drama!" It zoomed out again to a wider shot that showed Chris and most of the island behind him.
"Island!" This last zoom-out no longer showed Chris, but it instead contained the entire island within this final shot.
"Welcome back, now let's meet the victims..." Chris McLean says before deciding to clarify what he meant, "Now, I'd call them campers, but you know the drill, these people didn't sign up for Big Brother, now did they?"
After laughing a bit more, he heard the sound of the oncoming boat. His left hand then points off in the direction of the noise, "First up we have..."
On the boat was a pale-skinned guy who was 6 feet tall and had an agile-looking body considering that he had no bulky arms and legs. His bright yellow eyes stood out, especially with how contrasted with his dark blue hair, parts of which in the front reached down to his ears but they were swept enough so that they wouldn't completely hinder his sight, the back portion of the hair was about chin-length and had two spikes on top of it. His clothing consisted of a black suit that had a white shirt and black tie both underneath it, long black pants that ran down to his white dress shoes which had a blue sole to them. This man seemed completely over-dressed for the occasion but if his yellow eyes were anything to go by, he probably didn't care about this fact.
"Arthur Kingston!" Chris announced the contestant's name right before the boat stopped in front of the dock.
"..." Arthur stepped off the boat and looked around at the sight around them. No words came out of his mouth and he eventually stared at the host who hadn't tried disrupting whatever the royal-looking-contestant was doing.
"Is there anything you'd like to say?" Chris genuinely questioned, if it were any other contestant then he would've likely rushed them into speaking. However, the intense yet intentional stare from the professionally-dressed man in front of him made him not commit such an action. Forcing such a person to speak who probably had tons of money and a look that could kill anyone who had social anxiety wasn't an idea he felt was worth entertaining.
All he could is await the response of the analytical and threatening man who had yet to speak...
"...I came here to slay."
"Excuse me?" Chris asked, his mind processing the clunky line that was spoken by the deep-voiced teen.
"I said that I'm here to slay, Christopher McLean," Arthur repeated himself with no hints of sarcasm or snark in his statement.
"Okay? Well, I'm sure you'll slay the spot over there?" Chris tried his best in carrying on with the show. He pointed at the nearby spot which Arthur soon walked over towards, ending the odd interaction that had clearly caught the host off-guard.
"(That was weird...)" Chris discreetly whispered into the camera. The camera nodded in agreement.
Luckily for the show, the next boat could be heard and so the host re-equipped his signature smile. He then pointed over into the direction where the next contestant was coming from which the camera zoomed over to, "Next up..."
Standing on the back of this next boat this time was a female who was about 5'6" and she did seem to contain the same physique overall as the previous contestant, except hers seemed perfect for rock climbing. She had long blonde hair that had two bandages attached to it, one of them was pink and the other was blue, there was no clear reason for them as none of them even matched the color of her ruby-red eyes. Her clothing was almost the opposite of Arthur's as she wore a white short-sleeved shirt (that had tears in the collar) on top of a long-sleeved striped shirt that alternated between black and white, black leggings which had some tears at the kneecaps, and red sneakers that had blue laces on them. At least it looked like someone got the memo that having on casual clothing fit the current situation far more.
"Yana-!"
"WEEE!" Another boat suddenly shot around the boat the girl was on. The blonde-haired climber sighed at the sight and placed both her hands on her hips out of what seemed like disappointment.
Her eyes looked at the person driving the boat that had gotten in front of her as if she knew them. This person was currently sitting, but they were about 5 foot tall and was entirely skinny and lean with no signs of muscles on their body like there were for the other two contestants. Their scarlet red eyes and unkempt red hair at least didn't clash with their fair skin. They had an open black hoodie that had no zipper on it, allowing the red buttoned-up shirt with a notable collar to be viewable, and their black jeans with black oxfords completed this outfit of theirs. For a moment, the boat stopped and the redhead stands up on the seat behind the steering wheel of the boat.
"Kai Hayashida! You were told to wait for the intern to drive you over here! Are you that dead-set on causing trouble already?!" Yana scolded the boy in front of her. The intern driving her boat had stopped due to the situation.
"Of course I am! This show is the perfect showcase to cause nothing but Total Drama! It's too perfect of a chance to pass up, sis!" Kai countered with a shit-eating grin nearly reaching his ears with how wide it currently was.
"(I knew you weren't gonna make things easy for me,)" Yana muttered to herself as her brother sat back down in his boat.
"See ya at the dock, Sis!~" Kai cheerfully stated before driving himself over to the host who hadn't been able to talk much ever since getting interrupted. After getting off the boat, Chris wasted no time in finally giving his response to the situation.
"What happened to the female intern whose name is too long for me to remember?" Chris asks, looking off into the water to check for any signs of said intern.
"Birsha may currently be suffering in the ocean right about now!~" Kai answered, giving a smile that was full of fake innocence in the process.
"Make sure your habits don't leave us behind schedule, alright?" Chris requests, his mind having a good idea what happened to the intern who didn't have a memorable enough name. Though that was probably because her name wasn't Christopher, McLean, or Justin.
"Roger that, Host!" Kai exclaimed before chuckling at the nickname he just used.
"You're also making this season a favorite of mine already," Chris says, offering a fist bump for the cheerful redhead. Kai accepted the fist bump as the next boat finally reached the drama-loving duo.
"Please don't encourage him!" Yana pleaded, causing a laugh from her brother who then walked past the host. Her eyes then looked at the male intern who had driven her boat, he sighed in relief at the fact he wasn't the person who had to deal with driving the red-haired gremlin over there. Seeing this response caused the blonde to place a hand on the intern's shoulder, "I appreciate you for driving me over here, James the Intern."
"Hurry it up, Jake the Ripper!" Chris seemed far less sympathetic to the intern who became sad at the response.
"What a jerk," Yana responded and frowned at the rather insensitive comment before she stepped off her boat. It then turned around and drove away after it hooked the empty boat behind it to drag it along.
Arthur, Kai, and Yana all stood alongside each other now that they all were here. As a result of the gremlin's actions, they would have to wait a minute or two before the next contestant could be introduced, leaving all of them in awkward silence as they hadn't even gotten a quarter of the way through the cast. This minute of waiting quickly made Kai and Yana bored very quickly.
"Does Christopher's voice sound different to either of you?" Arthur suddenly asked, surprising the two who was both jumped a bit at the deepness of the guy's voice.
"Nope! It sounds the same as it does every other season!" Kai answered once his mind latched onto the prince's comments rather than his voice.
"I've never watched this show before so I sadly can't tell you if it's changed or not," Yana explained before nervously chuckling.
"Guess it's just me, then." Arthur ended the short conversation and stared off into the distance once again.
This left the trio in a few more seconds of silence.
"Anyone wanna play 'I Spy'?" Yana suggested in an attempt to break the ice with both boys.
"Ooo~ That's my favorite game!" Kai cheerfully agreed with his sister's suggestion. His excitement levels were so high that he found himself instinctively jumping up and down repeatedly.
"I don't see any reason to object to that. Let us play," Arthur responds once he looked back over at the siblings.
"Perfect! Now, let's-!" Yana tries starting up the simple game.
"FINALLY! Here comes our next contestant!" Chris wastes no time interrupting the trio from getting into a game he viewed as something entirely pointless and boring, which he wasn't wrong about. This did get a pout from the blonde who then silently dropped the game whilst Arthur and Kai looked over at the next boat. After a sigh of relief is heard from behind the camera, it then zooms over to the next boat.
A book was seen getting close on this next boat, revealing the person who held ownership of this book. The owner was slightly shorter than Yana due to being 5'4" but had even paler skin than Arthur. She had dark blue eyes that almost blended in with her grey shoulder-length hair which had two braids in the back and a beige newsboy cap to literally top off her appearance without mentioning her clothes. Speaking of which, she had on a white apron which small red flower designs spread across the entire thing, a large blue over jacket with pens filling up the pockets on each side, a denim white skirt with blue-flowered embroidery, and black tights that ran down into her blue slip-on shoes. All of this flower-like clothing made the girl's rather empty expression stand out even more as her ride finally reached the doc after she placed her book into one of the pockets of the over jacket.
"Ryokai Shimashita!" Chris announced as Ryokai stepped onto the dock.
"Heyo Ryo, Nice to meet you!" Kai wasted no time approaching the poker-faced girl and offering out a hand.
"You must be the infamous Kai Hayashida," Ryokai didn't accept the offer and instead looked into the bright red eyes of the contestant standing in front of her. It didn't look like she would shake the boy's hand.
"So you know me? That means either you somehow got the cast list or you've read some of my work... either way, I'm flattered that you remember me~" Kai remarks with another over joyous smirk.
"I'd been interested in interviewing you about your work for some time now. So seeing you on the rumored cast list seemed believable enough to me. Of course, I would've come regardless-"
"That's what she said!~"
"But this certainly acts as a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like Cain's here to finish off Abel," Ryokai went on with her speech without fail. These words finally made Kai drop his handshake offer.
"Well, that would be asking for too much. I'm sure not even God would allow something like that to happen, Lilith," Kai responds, the smirk on his face grew wider and even had a hint of aggression behind it.
"Sorry, but can anyone translate what those two even talking about?" Yana questioned. She was completely lost and couldn't follow all the stories the two writers were throwing at each other.
"I can't, but I don't care! This is already creating some amazing tension!" Chris answered as the camera zoomed into the staredown going on between Kai and Ryokai. An idea then entered the host's mind now and he soon made a lot of hand movements that probably meant something. After the camera nodded, the screen then cut to a bunch of different cameras filming the same scene.
The series of cuts then end with one more zoom-in to the carefree boy and completely serious girl who continued analyzing each other. One of them had a smirk and the other had an unreadable face.
"Perfect. That'll fit well into the promos for the season," Chris remarks as the screen zoomed out once again.
Kai then broke the tense moment by grabbing Ryokai's hand and dragging her over to Arthur and Yana.
"Hey sis, Say hello to your future sister-in-law!" Kai shamelessly announced whilst raising Ryokai's hand.
"DON'T JOKE AROUND WITH SOMETHING LIKE THAT!" Yana immediately yelled with a blush quickly appearing on her face. She even pointed at her brother out of pure anger for making a joke that she found more frustration-inducing rather than funny.
"..." Arthur observed the current situation and decided to silently watch it all unfold.
Another boat noise finally ended the commotion and Kai had let go of Ryokai, who glanced over at Arthur for a second before looking off into the same direction everyone else was staring at. Chris then pointed the camera in the direction it soon zoomed over to, "Here comes our next camper..."
Driving the next boat was the same intern who drove Arthur and Kai over, but now she was drenched and stared at Kai who waved at her. On the boat was another pale-skinned contestant who was 5'10" and standing in a way that seemed calculated. He had some incredibly spiky black hair and a braided ponytail on the back of it, all of this complimented the contestant's right yellow eye as their left was mysteriously covered by a black square-shaped eyepatch. His clothing included a long black overshirt that's showing off a red shirt due to a lack of zippers or buttons, his black straight-leg pants, and some black derby shoes. Someone here clearly chose his best clothes for the special occasion.
"Kazuru Badasu!" Chris proudly announces the next contestant right as his boat stopped near the dock.
"The time for the grandest arrival has cometh," Kazuru immediately declared before jumping off the boat. Amid this jump, he gave the camera a sinister smile and covered his eyepatch. He seemed ready to continue the 'grandest arrival' speech as his feet landed on the wood.
The wood gave out and he fell into the water below.
"Well, that sucks..." Chris commented before looking through the hole that the eyepatch-wearing boy had accidentally caused on the dock. There seemed to be genuine sorrow heard in his voice. Something truly saddened him over seeing Kazuru fall into the water which he verbalized, "If only we could've gotten the sharks ready sooner."
"Is anyone gonna help him?" Yana asks with a raised hand.
"I'd recommend you to do it as it beats getting into a lawsuit... especially with his parents," Chris responds before shivering at the memories that this comment sparked. Most of which probably involved a former contestant that was probably making her home in space.
"(His parents?)" Ryokai quietly wondered before pulling out her journal and taking some notes in it.
"That's what you're-? Never mind, I'll just move past that," Yana stops herself from asking yet another question she knew the answer to. She instead jumped off the dock and observed the boy who was just flailing around in the water with no technique or attempt to keep himself afloat. It didn't take long before she was able to grab onto the man with no swimming plans and she dragged him onto shore with great ease.
"You have my sincerest gratitude for helping me out of the water! Thy skills in assisting me in my great escape from the blue-and-white liquid were quite impressive and something worth taking note of! If never need my help, I'll lend you the energy which is mines!" Kazuru wasted no time in exclaiming once he quickly got back onto his feet as if nothing happened.
"Ummm... Arigatou?" Yana tried forming the best response out of whatever the hell she just heard.
"Ie, Ie," Kazuru remarks with a bow before getting back onto the dock and approaching the other three contestants.
"(Is this the Japanese-themed season or something?)" Yana quietly remarked to herself before she also climbed back onto the dock.
"It would seem that my entrance had misfortune prevented it from truly amazing the spectators. For my status in this world is being the God of all Gamers and thus, my powers as a deity will eradicate any demons standing within my path for there can only be one... so ye better pray that the Inferno from this devil-like god will not invoke a hell which you shalln't escape!" Kazuru threatened(?) with a glare for the other three contestants.
"What about if one of us is Lucifer? I'm sure he'd be able to handle such a landscape~" Kai steps out from the line so he could give yet another remark. This silenced Kazuru who needed some time to think about the implications of the redhead's words.
"...Then, it would seem that my heated flames will have to outburn even the stars above!" Kazuru eventually answered, pointing his right hand toward the sun above them.
"Looks like you two are really putting the 'dramatic' part into Total Drama," Yana comments with an amused smile. Unlike the earlier exchange between Ryokai and Kai, this exchange was just as confusing but she found it childish in a charming way overall. Plus, it's not every day that she saw her brother playing off someone else's act(?).
"Speaking of which, let's dramatically transition to our next contestant!" Chris steps in front of the camera so he could be the only focus of the current shot. He then pointed both hands in the direction of the next oncoming boat.
Zooming over in that direction, the next female contestant matched the height of Kai (meaning that she was five feet tall) and had a pale ivory skin tone, making her the least white contestant so far. She had lime green eyes and short blonde hair, though her hair wasn't without any style, for the twin tails on the back of it had drills on each end, and also parts of her frontal hair went down to her eyes. In front of her rather pretty eyes were black half-framed glasses, on each of her ears were notably long yellow heart-shaped earrings, and she also had a yellow necklace with a diamond-shaped locket. Other than her accessories, her general clothing consisted of a pink sweater that didn't quite cover her shoulders, showing the black strapless shirt beneath it, a blue skirt that had thigh-length black socks reaching up to them, and there was lastly her green Converse shoes that had white spread across the entire thing. When putting the design altogether, it looked like the girl was dressed up more for a fashion show but at least she had effort placed into her appearance.
"Rosalin-No wait, it's actually Rosielina Tsunade!" Chris corrected himself, sounding like an announcer even after the near mistake he made.
"Rosielina?" Arthur, of all people, asks out of seemingly nowhere.
"She's a V-Tuber who goes by the name-" Ryokai began explaining while she flipped through the pages of her journal.
"Rosie The Tsundere!" Kazuru cut off the journalist so he could proudly announce the girl's name. There was some genuine excitement seen in his eyes and he did seem jumpy for a moment before calming himself down.
Rosie soon stepped off the boat and gave everyone a smile that was full of pride. Before she completely arrived, her ears had picked up on all of the comments made about her, and felt glad that some people already knew about her. Now that she was performing on live television, this meant she couldn't disappoint her fans or leave a bad impression so other people could get into her work. All of this gave her more motivation than ever to make sure that her time on the camera would be one worth remembering. After puffing out her chest, the v-tuber then finally spoke up, "Hello everyone! I hope my looks won't distract any of you boys or make you girls get jealous about my body~"
"How can I not be distracted when you're makin' my heart go doki doki?~" Kai wastes no time flirting with the girl to the point of even wrapping an arm around her. His comment made Yana visibly cringe in the background.
"HENTAIII!" Rosie yells out as she immediately slaps the writer. Her slap causes Kai to spin around a few times and even fell through the same hole in the docks that was made earlier.
"That was deserved," Yana and Ryokai both remarked at the same time. The two then faced each other for a moment and started giggling before looking back at the show going on in front of them. Both of them were glad they met eye-to-eye on that situation.
"If it isn't the internet's most beloved tsundere... It's our pleasure to have this meeting with how-" Kazuru began approaching the girl who just slapped the previous guy who tried flirting with her.
Only for him to also fall through the exact same hole he made earlier. This time, he hit his head on the wood before his body fell into the water below, landing on the writer who had just reached the surface. The water then remained still and quiet for the next few seconds, in fact, only a leak of blood could be seen coming from below.
"We haven't even had a challenge yet and this cast is already making me proud," Chris commented before laughing at the events that have just happened.
"You're a sick twisted old man, y'know that?" Rosie remarks with crossed arms.
"Yes. Yes, I do," Chris shamelessly answered before he turned to face Yana.
"I'll go save them before they drown," Yana immediately responded as she understood what the host was going to ask out of her. After all, lawsuits were the one thing this host did seem to care about.
"Thanks," Chris says as Rosie then lined up by Arthur and Ryokai since the other three contestants were busy taking care of their wet businesses. After clearing his throat, Chris then moved on with the show, "And now onto our next constant..."
This next constant matched Arthur's height and skin tone, though that's about where their similarities ended. This guy wore a pair of shades he soon took off to reveal his bright-blue, round-shaped eyes that had sparkles going throughout them, these eyes alone were enticing and complimented his black hair which had multiple curves on the top. His clothing was simple he wore a white overshirt with popped collars over a black shirt, dark blue jeans, and black loafers. Compared to everyone else, his appearance had less complexity in it, but this highlighted his more attractive aspects even more.
"Rellik Rorrim! Who already looks like he'll be the biggest star of the season!" Chris finds himself immediately complimenting the good-looking contestant.
"He does certainly look like someone from a K-pop group," Ryokai added her take on the comment.
"Also, I'm already here!" Rosie took more offense to the comment.
"(Not the most subtle name there,)" Arthur mumbled, it seemed he already realized the not-so-secret meaning behind this contestant's name.
"Good afternoon everyone, I hope my appearance won't distract any of you girls or make you boys jealous about my sick pack," Rellik greets everyone with slightly narrowed eyes and a slightly smug smile.
"(That introduction sounds oddly familiar,)" Arthur remarks quietly, this time he looked over at Rosie who didn't notice the attention.
"Hah! Distraction? You're only distractin' everyone else with that supposed six-pack from the thing you're actually compensating for... though I'll admit your eyes do remind me of the stars which aren't a bad sight in the least," Rosie says as her voice slowly became less grating the longer she observed the boy's looks. Eventually, she found herself not saying a word as she focused on the boy's blue eyes.
"I'd like to see this supposed six-pack... for research purposes," Ryokai confirms in her typical monotone voice, although she did seem more ready than ever to write inside her journal. It was hard to tell if her words were out of honest or a decent cover-up.
"Cheating on your husband already, I see," Kai immediately remarks to Ryokai's words after getting back on the dock.
"I'm sorry, are you two already an item?" Rellik asks, genuinely confused about their relationship.
"These two haven't both agreed about forming a lifelong pact quite yet!" Kazuru answers once he got back onto the dock. It seems that he also currently had a nosebleed from the head bump he had earlier.
"..." Rellik was unsure how he should interpret what he was seeing and hearing.
"No, they're not together yet. It's just my brother messing around with Ryo," Yana finally confirms without adding anything needlessly complicated into her sentence that'll drag things out or make it harder to understand.
"Thanks for the translation, I'm not too versed in literature," Rellik explains.
"Finally! Please don't make any literature references, I'll happily marry you if you do!" Yana pleads as she swiftly approached and held both of the boy's hands.
"Sis, you shouldn't plan too far ahead," Kai interrupts the moment by jumping in between the two, making his sister let go of the other boy's hands. He then turned his back to Rellik so he could speak with Yana, "We're not even sure if this guy can procreate!"
"I'm now feeling objectified for the wrong reasons," Rellik comments on the insults.
"Maybe his parents were freaks and their freaky genetics made him get these freaky eyes meaning that there could be other freaky things about him!"
"Going after my existent parents is a low-"
"Maybe all of his friends are cult members that believe him to be some kind of Jesus-like figure when he's just a fakey fake faker!"
"Attacking my existent friends seems a little-"
"Cunt!" Kai points at Rellik whilst yelling at him.
"..."
"..."
"..."
Kai was thrown off the dock moments later.
"Apologies, he was more fragile than I anticipated~" Rellik apologized with a bow to everyone else. None of them blamed the guy for doing what he did and so they didn't complain or question it in the slightest.
"I'll go for-" Yana prepared herself to go underwater.
"No, I threw him overboard and so I'll be the one who retrieves him," Rellik confirms moments before falling back into the water below.
"My job's looking easy so far," Chris comments as the next boat could be heard in the distance. The host then directs the attention toward the incoming contestant whom the camera zooms over to, "Next up..."
The next contestant was about 5'8" which made her only slightly shorter than Kazuru, and she had a scrawny build and almost no muscles, making her have a build similar to Kai. It was difficult making out the exact details of this contestant until she pulled away the hoodie she'd been wearing. This action revealed her long black hair which oddly had horn-forming strands on each side, and this made her emerald green eyes completely visible now. Aside from the black hoodie she was already wearing, the other clothes she had on were black shorts and black dockside shoes with a lot of red present on them. Almost everything about her made the small smile on her face seem rather out-of-place and eerie.
"Luciana Ignis!" Chris introduced the girl who stepped off her boat moments later.
"Good morning to you all, I'm sure our time on this island will be something we'll remember long into our futures," Luciana greeted everyone after placing a hand on her chest. Her eyes looked around at the seven other contestants who were already there.
"That's an optimistic perspective to have and I'm liking it!" Yana responds very positively, she then held out her hand for a high five.
"Finding light in the neverending darkness that comes for us all can be a useful tool," Luciana oddly comments before she proudly accepted the blonde's high five.
"How can you find light when you're stuck in an inescapable shadow?" Ryokai stepped out from the group so her question could be asked. Yana then stepped back so the journalist could stand in front of Luciana.
"...What're you implying?" Luciana questioned as her small smile evaporated. Now her eyes were only focused on the journalist.
"Could we please not do something that'll make one of us throw the other into the water?~" Yana tries stopping the situation from escalating to the point of violence. She had already seen enough of that already.
"Yeah, we just got rid of her annoying brother. So maybe you two should stop before I'll send you both back to your mothers," Rosie interjects so she too could help calm down the two girls by ALSO threatening them.
"My mom's dead," Ryokai blankly confirmed with no emotion in her voice.
"My mom's dead to me," Luciana also confirmed, although she did seem more aggressive when speaking.
"Oh... I'm sorry for your losses," Rosie apologizes upon realizing how insensitive her comment might've been. Even had limits about what could she insult or berate, spiritually or literally dead relatives were one of them.
"You're forgiven." Ryokai didn't take any offense as she knew the comment was accidental.
"(At least your mom will be watching you lose than just her~)" Luciana leaned over to whisper into the journalist just quiet enough so that neither Rosie nor Yana could make out what she was saying. She did pull away just so she could see the reaction her comment would have.
"..." Ryokai's eyes narrowed at the girl who once again had a smile on her face.
"Let's make both our living and dead family members proud," Luciana states in a deceivingly innocent manner. Her eyes focused on Ryokai and the comment was clearly directed at her.
"Glad we settled that, now let's all get moving before things somehow escalate again!~" Yana insists as she wraps an arm around Ryokai.
"Yeah, we wouldn't want any more sticks up your butts, now wouldn't we?" Rosie asks whilst wrapping an arm around Luciana.
"Don't you mean sticks up our arses?" Luciana questions with some confusion.
"Let's just get moving!" Rosie shuts down the conversation immediately. All four girls then stood by Arthur and Kazuru who both wisely decided that staying out of the conversation was their best move. Luciana did notice the eyepatch-wearing boy bleeding from his nose and gave him a tissue which he gladly accepted and started utilizing almost immediately.
"What's taking Rellik so long?" Chris wonders, his right foot impatiently tapping the ground.
"We're back!" Rellik declares moments before throwing Kai's unconscious body onto the dock.
"Kai?! This better not be you playing dead again!" Yana immediately ran over to her brother and kneeled beside him.
"He's alive, it's just that he made rescuing him a lot harder," Rellik explains while getting back onto the dock.
"YOU DO HAVE A SIX-PACK?!" Rosie loudly asks, her eyes immediately spotting the mythical six-pack on the handsome man which could now be seen on his shirt due to how soaked it had gotten.
"Yes, yes I do~" Rellik proudly answered. Rellik and Kazuru were finally given some towels later which they used to help dry themselves up, meanwhile, Yana was given the third towel which she used on her brother before she stood up. Knowing that Kai would likely come back into consciousness soon, Yana walked back over to everyone else who all looked at the next boat.
"Yana and Kai-when-you-wake-up, you two aren't the only siblings on this season!" Chris loudly confirms before turning around and pointing away at the next boat.
This next boat was carrying two contestants, one of them was female and the other was a male.
On the right was the female who was approximately 5'10" which made her the tallest girl so far, her skin was pale like so many other contestants were, and the confident smile she wore indicated a strong presence from her already. Already on her long black hair (which was about elbow length overall, even with her sideburns, and that was excluding the ponytail in the very back) was a yellow bow that hung above her right ear, and yet none of this overshadowed the lovely red eyes that were barely affected by the wind. Currently, her attire involved a zipped white jacket that contained some black parts on her sleeves, a black shirt that just popped out enough from behind the jacket to be seen, and more black in the form of her skirt that had red lines going across the bottom parts of them, and black knee-length socks that led into the red and black sneakers that added onto her color scheme. Although parts of her clothing added extra colors to her appearance, it was clear that she was most comfortable wearing clothing that was red, black, or both. It certainly seemed that she came dressed for the competition and was ready to compete.
On the left was the male who matched the girl's height and skin color, but his smile seemed more content and pleasant than in contrast to the strong impression the female beside him had been giving, which was probably helped by the little fangs he had. He had chin-length black hair that had spikes on the end and bangs reaching down to his nose, but like the girl next to him, his most distinct trait was the red irises in his eyes which seemed like they were more Venetian-red than the girl's alizarin-red eyes. For his attire, he had on a black zip-up hoodie that was unzipped for the moment, leaving the white v-neck shirt visible and on it was a strange design of a black sword stabbing through an hourglass, none of which overshadowed the grey jeans he wore, and lastly were his blue sneakers that had black laces and soles on them since the black ankle-length socks behind his jeans couldn't be seen by anyone else. Considering Chris' words earlier, this guy was likely the brother of the female next to him and from how he presented himself, it was likely that he was the older one of them.
"Here comes Jessica Seizon-!" Chris confirms, the female on the right then jumped off the boat.
"I'm glad to be here!" Jessica exclaims before landing right in front of the hole in the dock and giving everyone a powerful smile and a wink before talking a bit more, "Good luck in this race 'cuz I'm not planning on even falling behind!"
"Thou did not fall through this island's poorly-made gateway to hell?!" Kazuru loudly questioned.
"...What?" Jessica asks, likely confused about everything and everyone now.
"And her brother, Rival Seizon-!" Chris finally announces, resulting in the boy following in his sister's footsteps... or jump path in this case.
"Time to take care of-" Rival started talking as he landed beside his sister... only the dock beneath him to collapse and this sends him into the water. This caused a snicker from Rellik who soon hid it before anyone could notice the entertainment he got from that.
"Thy did fall through thou own's self-created hole!" Kazuru states the obvious.
"Uhhh-" Jessica was about to ask.
"Translation: He is shocked that your brother fell through that as he did earlier when you didn't," Ryokai explains after sighing.
"Oh! Guess I'm lucky... Oh shit!" Jessica responds, nervously chuckling before her eyes widened and she looked through the hole her brother had fallen through. Currently, her brother could be seen slowly sinking into the water with closed eyes and an open mouth.
"I'll retrieve him," Rellik stepped out and prepared to jump into the water.
"Please do," Jessica pleaded in a tone that sounded desperate. The handsome guy then jumped into the water moments later, he didn't pay much mind to the girl's pleading but he did a smirk before getting into the water.
"Why do you seem so concerned?" Ryokai asks while bringing out her journal and pen.
"R-Rival can't swim... I mean, sure he can last a few minutes before drowning but it doesn't make me any less worried when he's in deep water when he can't float," Jessica answered, her eyes still looking through the hole.
"I feel you... you know things will be fine in moments like these, but if there's even a slight chance your brother will get seriously hurt or something worse, then you'd do everything you can to make sure that doesn't come to be," Yana says as she stands by Jessica.
"Y-Yeah, it also sucks to see Rival in situations like these so often," Jessica confirms.
"Well then, that just means he'll get through this like he's done every other time!~" Yana optimistically states before wrapping an arm around the concerned sister next to her.
"You do have a point there," Jessica responds with a smile slowly reappearing.
"You're both lucky that didn't last too long," Chris comments once again with impatient foot tapping.
"You're a mean one, Mister Chris," Rosie sarcastically remarks to the host of the show.
"I think I'm starting to not like you now," Chris states, his eyes narrowing at the v-tuber.
"No way! I'm so depressed that some jackass doesn't like me!" Rosie declares in the most sarcastic manner possible.
"Would you mind shutting your mouth before I'll tear up your contract and kick you off the show?" Chris threatens, finally having enough of the v-tuber's insults. This made the girl gulp and back off from saying much else.
"(Wait, I was actually trying to come off as genuine there...)" Rosie quietly pouted to herself.
"Someone got under Christopher's skin~" Jessica remarks, this comment made Yana laugh quietly behind her before the two then walked over to all of the other contestants.
"Aren't you still worried about your brother?" Luciana questions the only other black-haired female contestant here thus far.
"Yeah, but Rival tells me to never worry about him and to instead always treat him as if nothing happened," Jessica answers before giggling now that she was no longer stressing out about her brother.
"That seems strange," Luciana remarks before looking down, her mind now thinking about what she's heard.
"It does feel that way sometimes, especially when I've accidentally taken my anger out on him. But he's never minded it too much and so I've just accepted that it's just how our relationship will naturally play out. I've got mixed feelings about all of it but it's become the norm and at least it makes life feel a lot less demoralizing considering how my parents view me in comparison to Rival and Ally..." Jessica explains before she also looked at the ground, but her eyes seemed a lot more serious than they were moments ago.
"It must be a complicated time for you both," Luciana says as she looks at Jessica with some remorse.
"Tell me about it! At least our time on this show will be a moment worth treasuring for our entire family, regardless of what happens!" Jessica optimistically and proudly declares with her right fist pumped into the air. Her mood had switched back into the more free-spirited attitude that surprised the hood-wearing girl who grew a smaller smile at the sight.
"As we're dealing with the drowning business beneath us, let's go to our next constant!" Chris redirects the camera back to himself so they could finally move on to the next camper. Not many seconds passed before the camera zoomed over to the next boat.
Standing on the female-driven boat was the next male contestant, he was about 5'7" and had a mesomorph build, making him one of the players who looked strong and had enough muscles that weren't overshadowed by his lean body. When it came to his black hair, it straddled between looking straight and wavy which results in some spikes poking out in the very back and side-swept bangs, there were a few strands of blue in all of this, and behind the rectangle-framed black glasses he wore were his Viridian-green eyes. Aside from the two small flower piercings that he's got in both ears, he currently wore a black turtleneck which was easy to see thanks to the green coat with a fur collar in front of it being unzipped for the time being, and their was also the grey dress pants he wore that almost reached the inside of his blue oxford shoes. Putting the entire thing together, he seemed like someone who could compete with Arthur for bringing the most formal look this season.
"Here we've got the up-and-coming actor, Modotte Kimasu or Makima which everyone else calls him! And so will I!" Chris confirms right as the actor walked off the boat and made sure that he'd stepped around the holes in the dock.
"Hello everyone, I hope to have good relations with all of you," Makima politely greets everyone.
"An actor greets us with their presence? That is quite the twist that my magical eye had not foreseen," Kazuru comments on the new development.
"Are you talking about the eye you're hiding behind the eyepatch?" Makima wonders with a tilted head.
"Indeed," Kazuru answers proudly, his eyes now closed.
"Well, it's good to meet yet another famous person, even if you're not Nichelle Ladonna," Rosie steps out after that short interaction so she could offer a hand to the actor.
"...Who the hell are you?" Makima wonders with a tilted head... wait a sec-
"You don't know me?!" Rosie's face quickly turns red after pulling her hand away and clenching it.
"Kidding~ It's nice to meet ya, Rosie the Tsundere," Makima states after smirking at the reaction he'd gotten from the overemotional girl. After offering out a hand for her to shake now, Rosie stared at it for a few seconds with a look of surprise on her face.
"Don't you ever make a fool out of me again!" Rosie yells whilst aggressively accepting the handshake, all the while she was blushing at the events that just happened.
"And it's good to meet you too, The God of Gamers," Makima greets Kazuru once he finished the handshake with the tsundere.
"Wait, you are the God of Gamers?!" Rosie asks after gasping at the realization.
"Wait, you know me?!" Kazuru returned the question-filled favor.
""I mean, I'm a fan of your work!"" Kazuru and Rosie cheerfully announced once they zoomed over to each other. Both of them had eyes of excitement and were now thrilled that they were meeting each other. All of this got an amused smile out of the actor who watched the two.
"Looks like you're also aware of Kazuru's reputation as a cosplayer, but that probably shouldn't surprise me," Ryokai objectively says once she steps out from the group behind her.
"Hey Ryokai, How's that interview with Kai coming along?" Makima casually asks as he approaches the journalist.
"...It's a work in progress," Ryokai answers before looking over at Kai who was either still unconscious or playing dead. One certainly seemed more likely than the other to Ryokai.
"Never thought there'd be pre-game connections we didn't plan for, but I guess the internet can give people access to anything these days..." Chris comments once again at the development before remembering something, "Oh right! We'll allow phones onto this season but don't tell anyone else about that just yet, I want to at least throw something into the ocean to start the season!"
"Why the change?" Arthur speaks for the first time in a while to ask this question.
"I figured the internet could help stir the pot this season, now Chef was against it because of the 'mental toll' it can sometimes take on you teenagers or some other lame excuse he's got, but I'm sure you kids can handle that sorta stuff and if you guys can't..." Chris didn't even bother finishing his answer before turning away.
In the distance was yet another boat sound that cued everyone to line up again meaning that Makima, Ryokai, Rosie, and Kazuru all went back with the rest of the contestants here.
"Next up..." Chris starts off his now common routine which the camera follows again.
This next person was, as one could probably guess at this point, another female who had fair skin and stood at the height of 5'6" which both made her initially seem in line with what else has been seen thus far. For once, the color of her eyes matched that of her armpit-length hair with both being pink, but a good portion of her frontal hair was covering the girl's right eye for whatever reason and this left only one visible eye which oddly enough had a heart-shaped pupil behind it. When it came to accessories, she had a black collar wrapped around her neck and two black hair clippings, both of which were interesting design choices on her end. Her clothing was made up of a black sailor shirt that had a few white outlines on it and this shirt wasn't covered by anything else, instead, a yellow ribbon that was neatly tied up could be seen on the shirt, and below this was knee-length black skirt she wore that had countless pockets inside the thing and her knee-length white socks that covered up the rest of her legs and led down to her black oxford shoes. Not all of the other contestants came dressed in clothing most suitable for a competition, but even compared to them did this girl not look particularly dressed for the occasion.
"Hanako Kaneko!" Chris confirms the name of the next female contestant who walked off the boat and jumped over the holes in the dock.
"Hey everyone, I hope to have a lovely time on this island!~" Hanako happily informs everyone with the widest and brightest smile so far.
"I'm sure you will, this island doesn't seem too bad and it's not like the show will throw any life-threatening challenges at its contestants," Yana responds while walking up to the smiling pink-haired girl.
"Yeeeah, it'd be ridiculous for Chris McLean to do anything like abandon us on an island that's about to explode!" Jessica plays along with the blonde's comments as she too approached the newest female contestant.
"That sounded oddly specific," Yana responds with confusion evident in her voice.
"I'm hoping to get some happy memories even despite all the dangerous things Chris'll hurl at us," Hanako explains before a drop of sweat ran down her face.
"Yeah, all we can do is hope that we've been trained enough by life itself that we can take whatever he throws our way," Jessica confirms before she nervously chuckles when remembering the previous seasons of Total Drama.
"Dangerous things? I thought the only point of concern would be by brother getting himself into more drama 'cuz you know, 'Total Drama'?" Yana questions as her confusion became more evident to both girls.
"What's your name, my sis-friend?" Jessica starts by asking the blonde this question, her smile seeming less confident than it did before.
"Yana Hayashida," Yana tells the girls.
"Yana, you do know how this show works, right?" Hanako did the honors of asking the blonde.
"How this show works?" Yana's confusion was only intensified by the questions.
"Answer: She did not watch Total Drama and was tricked into coming here by her brother," Ryokai explains before looking down at the blonde's brother. The smile on the redhead's face was visible and he finally got up from the ground.
"Well, shucks! It was entertaining while it lasted~" Kai remarks before bursting out into uncontrollable laughter.
"Wait, What did we sign up for?" Yana asks before looking back-and-forth between Jessica and Hanako who now looked concerned for the girl.
"You've signed up for Total Drama. You get a million dollars from winning the show but it's the hardest reality show to ever win and has become popular for that reason alone as the wildlife, the host, and even fellow contestants are only there to make your path to victory harder. It's also a goldmine for drama as many relationships have been formed and broken throughout various seasons, sometimes people have even been turned into zombies or mutated creatures by the end of a season. Good things can come out of this show but there's always the chance your life will be made worse by going on here. So you should at least prepare yourself for the chaos that the world's most sadistic and legally-questionable host will throw at us over there." Hanako answers the blonde's question in great detail before pointing over at Chris McLean.
"We're getting a lot of things that'll work perfectly for our promos," Chris merely responds, not even attempting to refute anything the pink-haired girl has said.
"So with that knowledge, do you regret coming onto this show?" Hanako asks Yana in a serious tone, her eyes felt like they were staring into the soul of the blonde looking straight into them.
"...If coming onto this show helps me protect my brother, then I'll do it until the day I die," Yana answers as a sense of determination could be felt shooting out from her red eyes. These words weren't a lie and they even caused her brother to stop laughing in the background.
"That's such a cool thing to say! Though, it's not like you could back out even if you wanted!~" Hanako innocently informed the blonde.
"You can only be eliminated medically or through getting voted out on this show," Chris reaffirms the pink-haired girl's claim.
"Good. I'll stick this out the best I can," Yana states as she didn't seem too phased by the stipulation.
"...You're gonna be fun," Chris states, the smile on his face growing even wider than it normally did.
"You're sounding like Rival now," Jessica remarks to Yana after wrapping her arms around her and Hanako. Both girls giggled and walked back with the rest of the group with each other.
"Speaking of sounds, here comes the sound of our next contestant!" Chris announces once another boat could be heard driving over. This boat sounded louder than most of the other ones and the camera zooms over to show why.
The reason was the contestant who'd brought a speaker behind him which was connected to a boat that had no one driving it, almost as if the thing was on auto-pilot. This contestant seemed to be about 5'8" and wore safety goggles on his forehead, another thing you could immediately notice about the guy was the confident and prideful smile which made him come off as if he was a big deal, even if he seemed like the scrawniest person here due to having no muscles. There were even some notable aspects about his eyes and hair, for his aqua-colored hair was short overall and only chin-length but there were red sidebangs that contrasted yet added onto the hair's color scheme, and his eyes slowly opened up to reveal the dark blue irises he had. After opening up these eyes of his, he then placed on a pair of round shades even though he was already wearing some eyewear. Below his colorful hair and eyes were his clothes, these consisted of a lavender open hoodie that did partially show off the grey shirt beneath it, black cargo pants with zipped-up pockets all over them, and red safety boots that covered his ankles. As if this wasn't all enough for the boy, he then equipped some black gloves from out of the many pockets in his pants which hopefully were the finishing touches to his overall appearance.
Before Chris could announce the contestant's name, a familiar song blared from the speakers behind the contestant.
I Wanna Be-! (Na, Na, Na-Na-Na-Na!)
I Wanna Be-! (Na-Na-Na, Na!)
I Wanna Be Famous! (Na-Na-Na-Na!)
The boat pulled up by the docks.
I Wanna Be-! (Na, Na, Na-Na-Na-Na!)
I Wanna Be-! (Na-Na-Na, Na!)
I Wanna Be Famous! (Na-Na-Na-Na!)
This next contestant walked off the boat and smirked at everyone else in front of them.
"Greetings to you lesser beings, I know you all should be aware of my name and status so far, but for you lowlives who lack the proper knowledge about the most important topic in the universe, then allow me to educate you! The official name that was handed to me is Murano Yoshio... but I'd prefer it if you people called me by the name I denominate myself by, Sazama!" Sazama finally introduced himself, winking at everyone and even throwing out some sparkles from one of his many pockets so he could complete this dramatic entrance.
No one cared enough to give him any response, except for Kazuru who clapped for him.
"Please save your applause for another time," Sazama proudly states with closed eyes.
"Applause?" Rosie asks after taking a step forward, this made Kazuru no longer clap. She wasted no time in giving the boy a condescending smirk as she approached him, "The only clapping you'll ever get from someone like me is the sound of my palm going across your pretty boy face."
"So someone is foolish enough to insult someone of my status. What's going through that minuscule little brain of yours that makes you believe that turning people against you, let alone me, is a halfway intelligent idea?" Sazama opens his eyes and takes off his shades so he could glare at the tsundere.
"Not much is going through my head, but I figured that it'd be good to make things fair by lowering myself to your narrow mind ~" Rosie answers before laughing down at the boy in front of her.
"Calling me narrow-minded is cretinous and you must be so pig-ignorant to even think that something like that is even partially true!" Sazama took some offense to the implications being made by the girl.
"Calling me a pig? Wow, you must enjoy getting yourself canceled~" Rosie remarks before she once again laughed.
"As if the opinion of the masses matter to someone such as myself, especially when I've got opinions that matter more," Sazama states as he then points in the opposite direction of where his boat was. The boat turned itself around and drove away moments later.
"Thy did turn the boat into something that can drive itself?" Kazuru questions once he approached Sazama.
"Indeed, it didn't take long for someone who's an expert in anything mechanical," Sazama explains, having regained his prideful attitude almost immediately.
"Does thine think that they could use their impressive mechanic stats in order to assist the God of Gamers in their gaming addiction?" Kazuru requests, offering out a hand as he did so.
Sazama stared at the boy's hand but was cut off before he could immediately answer.
"I'll bet that the fake kami of this world won't accept the offer because of how selfish the 'child of a thousand generations' is!" Rosie declares with crossed arms and a confident smile.
"I won't allow you to defame me any further! So I'll accept your offer, self-proclaimed God of Gamers!" Sazama confirms as he swiftly accepted the offer and shook hands with Kazuru.
"(So easy~)" Rosie comments quietly before the three of them went over to the rest of the contestants.
"As I said, easy season," Chris remarks as he points in the direction of the next boat.
On the next boat was another female who stood-I mean slept on top of the intern who had been drenched with water that likely came from the contestant that's currently on top of him and snoring. Although she wasn't standing like every other competitor, it's safe for me to say that she's about 5'1" which left her on the shorter end of the cast and had pale-ivory skin, but that aside, she was smiling, even during her little drool-filled nap. She had only chin-length and very messy hair, except for the one random strand that went down to her shoulders, and currently, her bangs covered her left eye, though that didn't matter much as both of her eyes were shut. Compared to almost everyone else, her clothes were simpler as she only had on a white t-shirt which had a round neck and short sleeves, denim shorts, and light brown loafers that had a white trim to them. This all created a very laid-back and casual aura around the sleepy girl who didn't wake up, even when her boat reached the docks.
"And here's GOGO ARTORIA!" Chris yells using a megaphone he'd received from one of the staff members.
"Huh?..." Gogo slowly started waking up, her hooded-shaped yellow eyes slowly regaining their vision. By the time her eyes were completely open, she wiped off the drool that came from her mouth, "Oh right... I've got a show to compete in."
"Thanks for giving our intern a shower, he needed it," Chris says right as the sleepy girl stepped off the boat.
"Oh right... thanks, dude," Gogo half-heartedly waved at the intern she drooled on during her time of sleep. The boat turned around and sped off almost immediately after the driver was so politely thanked by the contestant.
"Girl, are you sure you signed up for the right show?" Rosie asks after stepping out from the group.
"I'm sure... would you mind giving me your phone?" Gogo returns the verbal favor with her own question.
"W-Why?" Rosie questions after taking a step back from the sleepy girl.
"I've never been on the internet all too much so I'd like to try it out... especially from someone who seems in tune with social media." Gogo gives her answer with a friendly smile, making her seem incredibly genuine.
"O-Okay, just don't break-" Rosie pulls out a phone from her pink sweater and begins handing it over to Gogo.
Before she could do this, her phone is swiped away and thrown into the ocean.
"Take that you trash-talking brat! I'm glad my only phone throw of the season actually happened!" Chris cheers out loud and essentially celebrates the destruction of the cellular device which he'd been responsible for. His fingers were pointing at Rosie who remained completely still at the events that had evidently caught her entirely off-guard.
"That's a shame..." Gogo comments before sighing at not being able to try out the internet.
"Y-You... YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT, YOU-!" Rosie wastes no time launching herself at the host and making an attempt at tearing him into pieces for what he's done.
Before she could even try getting her revenge, a hand grabs onto her sweater and holds her in the air.
"Seriously, Chris? You've resorted to throwing away cell phones for the sake of drama?" Chef Hatchet questions now that he had finally arrived on the docks. He didn't seem all too amused or satisfied with the actions of the host.
"Nah, I just wanted to teach her a lesson," Chris honestly answers with pride.
"Of course, you did it out of spite," Chef responds with disappointment.
"Lemme go so I can kick Don McLean over here so hard that his voice will turn back into how it sounded before!" Rosie angrily demanded as she tried running and clawing at the host that she couldn't reach.
"(Good, so it wasn't just me,)" Arthur remarked so quietly that subtitles were needed to show what he'd been saying.
"Well, we need a host for the season and so you'll have to save all that anger for when the season's done," Chef informs the angry blonde after turning her so she could be looking over at him.
"I'll keep that in mind for everyone else..." Gogo confirms with a thumbs up for the chef.
"Fine, I'll try holding back my rage against this jackass for now," Rosie reluctantly accepts while crossing her arms. She understood the situation perfectly and knew that it'd be best for a move against the host to be made once the season's been wrapped up, even if she was angry beyond belief.
"Welcome to my world," Chef remarks before letting go of the girls who angrily stormed over to the other cast members. Gogo shrugged before following the ticked-off girl and standing with almost everyone else who'd been introduced so far.
"Now you can wait off-screen again, I'm sure these last two contestants shouldn't cause much trouble for me," Chris confirms with a confident smile.
"As long as you don't try anything more petty than what you just did, then I'm sure it'll be the case." Chef walked away now that he'd been given the order by the host who wasn't the easiest guy to deal with.
"Alright! And now onto our last male contestant of the season!" Chris turns around and faces the camera once more. After pointing in the same direction he's done twelve times before, the camera repeats the same zoom it did not fourteen times by now because of the two pairs of siblings here.
Waiting to arrive on the island was the last male contestant whose likely the second-to-last person to be introduced into the show and will meet the rest of the cast they'll be competing against. He was about 5'5" and had no smile or signs of anticipation present throughout his facial or body expressions. The wind blew through the guy's white shaggy hair partially had some strands between his eyes in the front but his hair was only about chin-length overall, his eyes were yellow and were only a darker shade than the ones Arthur had, but that made them seem less analytical and it made him seem more as if he were a living robot who endlessly wandered to pursue a goal in life. His clothes involved an unbuttoned coat with white lines throughout the design and because of the coat being unbuttoned, it shows off the black shirt being worn behind it, plus he had on skin-fit light-blue jeans that went all the way down to his ankles, and lastly, there were his black sneakers that completed his overall look. In his hands was a bunny plushy he held tightly, even as the wind tried blowing the toy animal out of his grip.
"Shiro! Yep, that's all there is to his name!" Chris remarks before chuckling at that little fact. Considering that the word meant 'White' in English, this made Shiro the whitest person in this competition in both appearance and now name.
Shiro soon stepped off the boat without saying a word and continued holding onto the bunny plushy. He then looks around at everyone present on the dock before stepping over the holes.
"That's a cute toy you've got there! What's their name?" Yana wastes no time in approaching the boy who certainly lived up to his name.
"His name is Mono," Shiro answers before holding the bunny plushy in front of the blonde.
"Mono? Doesn't that mean 'alone' or 'single' in Greek?" Luciana points out almost immediately.
"Mhm," Shiro simply nodded so he could confirm the hoodie girl's observation.
"White and Single? That must be a lonely life you're living there," Kai says whilst stepping out from the group behind him.
"You could say that." Shiro doesn't even attempt to disprove the comment.
"I'm sure you can get yourself a girlfriend, eventually! Some girls are a fan of cute stuff and your bunny plushy is only beaten out by puppies in terms of cuteness so I'm sure you'll find someone for ya someday!" Yana insists, then she pets the bunny plushy in front of her.
"I'm sure everyone else here is single, plus I'm Aroace so being single is more of a choice than anything else," Shiro bluntly informs the blonde.
"(Dammit!)" Hanako loudly whispered in response to Shiro's words.
"Wait, you chose to be alone?" Yana asks with genuine confusion. She knew people who chose to be alone but she normally found herself off-guard whenever meeting these kinds of people as she couldn't see herself ever doing something like that.
"I've got a past love I'm trying to get over," Shiro confirms, this time around his monotone voice did sound a little more quiet than usual as he looked down.
"Oh! Well, take all the time you need before you try moving on." Yana tells the white boy with a bow before turning around and taking her brother with her so he wouldn't try anything. Kai quickly fell onto the ground and couldn't do much as he was dragged by his sister, though he seemed more focused on observing the white boy than getting out of his sister's grip... not that he'd be able to anyway.
"I'll try," Shiro responds before he walked over to the rest of the cast.
During this walk, he felt someone watching him and knew which direction it came from almost immediately as the pair of eyes in question was something he noticed earlier. Shiro returned the stare and looked over at Arthur who he knew had been analyzing him the entire time, both of them had yellow eyes and gave off similar enough vibes that it felt like they were momentarily looking into mirrors. They looked away from each other seconds later so no one else could notice their stare-off and because Shiro had reached the rest of the cast.
"Before we introduce our final contestant, Where is-?" Chris asks as he looks around the docks.
"Sorry for taking a while-" Rellik conveniently returns by getting back onto the dock with Rival right behind him. Both guys didn't seem wet and likely took their sweet time off-screen drying themselves off once the red-eyed boy had been taken out of the water. The blue-eyed boy then smiled before following through with his sentence, "We just got caught up in the middle of a conversation."
"I can't say you're-" Rival begins responding to him.
"Perfect! Now let's move on to our last contestant," Chis interrupts him and turns everyone's attention toward the final person that's officially competing in this season. The camera, for the last time, zooms in the direction of the boat noise.
This final contestant was the tallest of the season as they were about 6'1" and didn't move an inch even as the wind breezed through their hair, clothes, and essentially their entire body. It was a female with porcelain skin and green shoulder-length hair, though that was only due to it being curled so they would seem that long, plus she had side-swept bangs which meant there was barely anything getting in the way of her almost-glowing yellow eyes that seemed like they were constantly observing and analyzing everything in sight. All of her clothes only added to her analytical nature as the white lab coat she wore (it reached down to her ankles) was getting blown by the wind, making the black shirt with a darkish yellow outline more visible from beneath it, not only that, but it clearly showed her knee-length black pencil skirt and white knee-length stockings that led down to her black oxford shoes. Topping it all off was her necklace which had a cross that the girl grabbed onto for a moment before letting it go and letting the wind blow it behind her. Everything about her appearance made one thing apparent, this contestant was a scientist and this alone could be seen as positive or negative depending on what her intentions would be since she already seemed like she wouldn't be someone who should be taken lightly in the game of Total Drama.
"Everyone, meet Chara Campbell!" Chris, for the first time since Arthur's name, announces a name that was completely in English... hopefully.
"Greetings to you all," Chara blankly greeted the rest of the contestants whilst placing her right hand on her chest. Then, she politely bowed to everyone even though her voice hadn't changed one bit so it could accommodate her friendly greeting.
"Don't worry everyone, we're certain that she won't try blowing up the island!" Chris tries adding some humor to the girl's introduction.
"That makes me feel safer around her, in that case!" Hanako cheerily exclaims before she skipped over to the scientist.
"That's surprising," Chara responds with an unchanged face, visibly showing a lack of surprise in the process.
"Well, you don't look like someone who'd harm me so that gives me enough reason to trust you," Hanako explains once she wrapped one of her arms around the scientist.
"That sounds like a rather naïve and presumptuous opinion of someone you've just met," Chara states her opinion whilst looking into the pink eyes of the girl she's conversing with.
"It makes life a far more interesting and fun challenge to navigate through, though!" Hanako cheerily explains, causing a raised eyebrow from the scientist who continued staring and analyzing the person she was standing by.
"Basically, you're looking for some thrills in your life?" Chara guesses as to what's the pink-haired girl's deal.
"Yep! I'm also hoping to have a lovely time here and form more connections with people!~" Hanako confirms whilst pointing over at the cast standing in front of them. Most of them waved back whilst others just motionlessly watched the conversation.
"...I see, in that case, I'll become your friend if that's what you'd like," Chara offers as she held out her left hand.
"Thanks, CC!~" Hanako gladly accepts the offer before skipping her way back over to the rest of the cast, though she didn't force her new friend with her. Chara remained standing in the same spot, her eyes staring at everyone and this sparked some confusion from some of the contestants.
"Do not look at me for too long! Your eyes can only-!" Sazama started taking offense to being looked at for this long.
"You must've not had a lot of friends growing up, did you?" Chara cuts off the boy so she could see if her hypothesis was right.
"Why don't you shut your mouth, you gormless courtesan?!" Sazama immediately yells at the scientist, proving her right in the process.
"Looks like my theory was correct after all," Chara ignores the demand before she finally decided on approaching the rest of the cast and standing by them. Finally, everyone was finally here.
"Now that you're all here, let's get down to business," Chris states before clapping his hands together. This seemed to be a signal of some sort as Chef walked back onto the docks and stood by the host moments later. Everyone looked at the famous duo who would be the people responsible for both putting them through the most dangerous challenges and taking care of them depending on how risky they were feeling.
"We would've just assigned teams to all of you, but I think it's a lot more fun if we have a challenge that'll decide the teams! So for today's challenge, you all will be racing across the entire island, specifically near the iconic cliff from our first challenge ever, except this time you campers won't be jumping off as things will already be hard enough for you all," Chris explains, grinning from ear to ear during all of this.
"That's what she said!~"
"Are ye under the impression that transporting myself across the island is an impossible task? Such a foolish assessment!" Kazuru loudly responds before crossing his arms and raising his head.
"Translation: He forgot what show we're on since we'll likely be doing more than just racing across the island," Ryokai once again takes the role of Google Translator whilst being as blunt as she possibly could be.
"That sounds about right, What's the catch this time?" Chef asks the host who looked at a boat that had already arrived at the docks.
"Dinosaurs didn't go extinct!" Chris announces very randomly.
"What are you-?" Chef asks as Chris steps onto the boat.
A loud animalistic roar then erupted from somewhere else on the island, catching the contestants off-guard and making Chef jump right onto the boat that the host was on. Considering what was seen earlier in the episode, the noise came from the raptors that were beating up the intern and it didn't sound like they were too far away. Although many questions were running through everyone's heads as to how something like this is possible, they decided that it was something they should just accept as fact since questioning it wouldn't help anything in the first place.
"Don't worry, we've got shock collars on the raptors which we'll active... when the challenge is over!" Chris ends his explanation of the challenge before laughing at all of the unfortunate contestants who'll be stuck on the island.
"May you all surviiiiive!" Chef yells out as the boat the host and he was on drives away from the island.
Now the contestants were left standing on an island where raptors would be hunting them down as they searched for cabins they didn't know the location of. Needless to say, it wasn't an ideal situation for anyone here.
"...Well fuck," Rosie spoke for everyone else there.
The camera then faded to black so it could transition into the intro for the season.
Shihoko Hirata & Shoji Meguro - Pursuing My True Self
A television is turned on, showing Chris McLean and Chef Hatchet standing in front of a campfire at night time. The screen turns to static as the camera then zooms into the television.
We are living our lives,
Gogo Artoria seemed to be laying on top of a pile of books that acted as her bed.
Abound with so much information.
She abruptly fell asleep and dropped the book that was in her hands onto the ground. The screen then turned to static before showing the next scene.
Come on, let go of the remote, don't you know you're letting all the junk flood in?
Kazuru Badasu slowly walked onto a stage with a smirk.
I try to stop the flow, double-clicking on the go, but it's no use, hey I'm being consumed.
His hands picked up a controller which he then raised into the air.
Loading, Loading, Loading, Quickly reaching maximum capacity.
The controller started vibrating wildly.
Warning, Warning, Warning, Gonna short circuit my identity (Ahhh).
Before he knew it, the controller blew up, sending Kazuru through an invisible wall and landing in a pile of snow.
Get up on your feet, tear down the walls,
Arthur Kingston stepped on top of this pile and began his ascension.
Catch a glimpse of the hollow world.
His hands pull a sword from out the ground which he swings at the screen.
Snooping 'round will get you nowhere,
Once the screen breaks apart, Rellik Rorrim smiled at the camera.
You're locked up in your mind.
The camera then zooms into his left eye, showing an endless swirl of black with a blue background.
We're all trapped in a maze of relationships!
Kai Hayashida ran into a maze without a second thought.
Life goes on with or without you.
Yana Hayashida stood still before following her brother into the maze.
I swim in the sea of the unconscious!
Shiro observed this before letting himself fall backward into a pool.
I search for your heart, Pursuing My True Seeelf-
Inside this pool, Rosielina Tsunade grabbed ahold of an underwater star before a splash fizzled her out.
You are standing in the middle of another world!
Chara Campbell walked through an empty, dark room.
It's hard to feel your real emotions.
A ray of light appears to shine on Makima who bowed for the camera.
You are smiling in a shirt with bitter tears!
Sazama pushed Makima out of the light before staring at the light above.
Let me help you find a place to call it hooome-
Ryokai Shimashita turned off the light she was shining on the boys.
We're all trapped in a maze of relationships!
Hanako Kaneko slashed away at the maze around her using a knife.
Life goes on with or without you.
Luciana Ignis watched Hanako from atop one of the maze's walls.
I swim in the sea of the unconscious!
A gust of wind causes Luciana to turn around and look at the people behind her.
I search for your heart, Pursuing My True Seeelf!
Rival Seizon and Jessica Seizon's unconscious bodies both fell into the middle of the maze, shattering the world around them and turning everything into static one more time.
Chris, Chef, Gogo, Kazuru, Arthur, Rellik, Kai, Yana, Shiro, Rosie, Chara, Makima, Sazama, Ryokai, Hanako, Luciana, Rival, and Jessica all found themselves surrounding a familiar-looking campfire. All of them looked into the camera which panned out to reveal the title of this latest season.
Total Drama Sinland
Multiple raptors were now seen chasing the contestants around, some of who were struggling in staying ahead of the quick creatures. These people in particular were Kazuru, Sazama, Gogo, and Rosie.
"Darker than Dark! Blacker than Black! I use this Bark as an Attack!" Kazuru was trying to fend off the raptor chasing him by grabbing nearby branches and throwing them at the dinosaur. These branches just bounced off the creature who kept closing the gap between him and the eyepatch-wearing boy. Right before the raptor could jump onto him, he stumbled onto the ground right on time, causing the raptor to be sent flying over the boy and crashing into a tree.
This shocked the eyepatch-wearing boy who sat up and looked at the now unconscious raptor that almost destroyed the tree's base with how hard it crashed into it.
"A-ha! 'Tis would seem that the other Gods are on this one's-OH CRAP!" Kazuru quickly rolls out of the way before the tree that the dinosaur went through almost lands on him. The impact of the tree falling onto the ground surprisingly launched the boy back onto his feet. Before he could celebrate his accidental victories, another raptor jumped over the knocked-down tree and he started running away once again.
"(Velociraptors can't take hits too well and their jaws aren't strong enough to take out larger animals, so I just need to-)" Sazama tried analyzing the reptilian beast chasing him. This external thinking was interrupted when the raptor chasing him then bit onto his hoodie and threw him far behind. Whilst in the air, Sazama's shades fell off and so he held onto his safety goggles as he went through multiple tree branches before landing on his back.
The raptor chasing him then smiled before charging at the contestant.
Before the creature could reach him, Sazama pulled out a remote and pressed a button on it. This resulted in the raptor getting bombarded by a bunch of diving birds that each fell into pieces after impacting the creature. Eventually, the raptor turned around and ran away from the robot-builder once the diving birds started becoming too much for it.
"No wonder you all were prehistoric, you'd all gone extinct a lot sooner from this planet's greatest history-maker!~" Sazama proudly declares before showing off his remote to the camera. On the remote were a bunch of buttons with different animals placed on each of them, the bird button was seen finally coming back up after being pressed just moments ago.
After getting back onto his feet, he started running ahead once again and held tightly onto his remote in case he would be getting into danger again anytime soon.
"It's been... a while since... I've played tag," Gogo says whilst looking back at the raptor behind her. She already was panting and her barely-present energy likely was running low already if her poor running position, lack of pacing between breaths, and words were all anything to go by. Behind her, the raptor kept reaching closer and closer and it tried diving in for her feet.
However, the historian leaned backward, and not only did this get her feet off the ground, but it got her onto the raptor that swooped in for her. It didn't take long before the raptor tried shaking off the girl and growling at her.
"You're not a dragon... so I can't train you... but I'll tame you!" Gogo declares, her arms wrapped tightly around the raptor's neck and she wasn't letting go. The raptor even tried running ahead, but it accidentally runs into another raptor. Gogo let go of the raptor she'd been riding and was sent flying.
Both raptors then glared at each other and circled one another, it seemed that they were now planning on battling each other. Right as the two then tried biting each other, the camera cut back to Gogo.
"Make sure not to roughhouse... too much," Gogo remarks to the raptors who couldn't hear her after landing on her feet. A part of her was relieved at having successfully escaped the raptors and living yet another day. She soon heard the sound of another raptor and decided that she would jump into a nearby bush rather than deal with this next one too. Seconds later, the raptor ran by but they did so with another person.
"STOP CHASIN' MEEEEH!" Rosie loudly pleads whilst running for her life.
Unlike everyone else, she seemed solely focused on outrunning the dinosaur behind her and had nothing planned for fighting back or distracting the creature. There was a wide smile on the raptor's face and it seemed like it was enjoying the chase, but its intentions were obvious. So it decided to take down the v-tuber by biting onto her hair and slamming her on the ground.
"AGH!" Rosie cries out and she grabs onto one of her pigtails which has been untangled now. Her glasses even fell off and her vision became blurry as she needed some time to adjust to not having them. But the raptor didn't stop there and it decided to kick the girl in her stomach, launching her into a nearby tree.
"ECK! NAGH!" Rosie continues screaming out as every hit given by the dinosaur and even the environment was felt by her entire body. Once her body landed on the ground in front of the tree, her vision finally came back and she tried crawling over to a nearby bush. This would prove to be futile as the raptor grips its teeth around her ankle and even got through her socks before it lifted her into the air and slammed her into the ground again.
"EEEEEE-ACK!" Rosie tried bracing her head for impact but that didn't do much in mitigating the damage she felt, especially from her left leg. Her eyes then looked at the raptor which no longer bit her, but instead, it jumped onto her and roared into her face. It decided that it was time to end things and went for the girl's face when going for the fatal bite.
"AHHHH!" Rosie screams for her life as all she could do is watch the creature go for the kill.
A sword suddenly goes through the back of the raptor's mouth and the tip of the blade almost touches Rosie's nose. Once the sword is pulled away, the raptor fell onto the ground and the girl wasted no time pushing the creature off of her and backing away from the now-dead creature. Her eyes then slowly looked over at the person who had saved her from certain death with a sword.
"...Are you okay?" Arthur simply asks the girl after planting his sword into the ground. There was no emotion on his face and this made him seem somewhat disingenuous when asking the question, but that didn't matter to the girl.
"THANK YOU SO MUCH!" Rosie happily responds by hugging the guy who had just saved her. She then shoved her face into his chest and made sure that she'd tightly hold him close to her.
"No problem..." Arthur responded in an empty tone that the girl didn't care about at the moment. But the look he was giving with his eyes staring down at the girl hugging him was one filled with no emotion, "Rosie Kingston."
"...H-How'd y-y-you-?" Rosie's eyes shot open at this name and she slowly looked up into the yellow eyes of the person she was hugging.
"My name is Arthur Kingston. You're one of the many children who were adopted so my parents could have a reliable backup heir in case their pride and joy ever disappointed them. However, like almost everyone except for my sister, you were abandoned the moment they realized how you didn't fit their vision." Arthur gives a full explanation to show just how much he knew about parts of her past.
"Y-Y-You're-?!" Rosie's arms slowly unwrapped from around the prince and starts backing away from him.
"Many years passed after that, but it seems you've finally found yourself a family in the Tsunades who have even transformed you into a successful online personality. But, what were to happen if someone would take all of that away from you?" Arthur questions with a tilted head, this made his expressionless face seem even more unsettling.
"D-Don't... pl-please d-don't!" Rosie fell onto her knees and begged the person who was her former brother, even if the two hadn't met before.
"I'll make sure to avoid using my financial influence over you... if you become my pawn in this game," Arthur offers whilst holding out his right hand.
"Y-You... YOU BASTARD!" Rosie angrily shouts as she glares into his yellow eyes.
"..." Arthur's expression didn't change a bit and in his eyes was nothing but emptiness that she hadn't truly noticed until now. Something told her that although he wasn't the biggest fan of the idea, he'd go through it if need be and even considering the possibility of losing her current family made the girl on the verge of tears. She'd hate even taking a risk against someone who seemed focused on winning the game and had an outside influence that could ruin lives. Not only that, but he did save her moments ago from becoming food from a raptor and though she found herself finding reasons to despise the man in front of her, she had even fewer reasons to go against his wishes. So the choice she needed to make wasn't much of a decision at all because that would imply that there was an alternate choice for her in the first place which she could've realistically gone with.
"D-Damn you... Arthur Kingston," Rosie slowly looks towards the ground as she grabbed the prince's hand. At this moment, she had accepted his offer and officially turned into one of his pawns. At this moment, the world around her suddenly felt a lot colder than it did before.
[Confession: Arthur]
Arthur stepped into the outhouse and decided that he'd instead stand up so he could give his confession, "I could've gotten involved sooner in saving Rosie from the raptor, seeing as I'd been hiding behind that bush since the beatdown started, but I figured it'd work better that I save her at the last possible moment. Not only would she be physically weaker than she already is, but it would also make her feel more grateful once I'd stepped in since it was during the moment that her life almost ended rather than during another beatdown she's probably experienced before. My way of convincing her into joining me may seem like I've burnt any chance of being friends with her outside the game, but I'm certain she'll always remember me saving her and that'll keep her on my side for some time. Keeping her loyal to me is a particular focus of mine, however, other people in the game will try turning her against me, so my plan going forward with her is simple... confuse her and keep her questioning things until she can't do it anymore. It's an unfortunate scenario, but I believe that Rosie is the perfect pawn for me."
Now that he finished his full explanation, he walked off-screen and out of the outhouse.
[Confession Ends]
Ahead of the five people in last place were multiple other contestants.
Makima had a smile on his face as he ran away from a raptor chasing after him, almost as if doing something like this was fun for him. He jumped over a raptor that tried getting in his way, slid beneath another one that tried jumping at him, and even did a backflip off a nearby tree moments before the raptor chasing him could reach him. After getting knocked down by the impact on which they hit the tree, Makima landed on his feet and chuckled at the knocked-down creature.
"I should thank that Jerry guy for showing me how he pulled off some of his stunts," Makima casually remarked before turning around and watching another contestant slowly approach him.
"Wow, you've got some nice moves there!~" Hanako compliments the actor who leaned against the tree he used against the knocked-down raptor.
"Thanks, but, shouldn't you be more focused on reaching the finish first?" Makima asks whilst scratching the back of his head.
"Today's challenge is only here to create the teams, so it's less about doing well and more about getting the team you want!" Hanako explains, keeping her cheery mood all the while.
"What about the raptors? Shouldn't you be worried about them?" Makima points out, his eyes narrowing at the pink-haired girl.
"What about them?~" Hanako responds with another question and she closed her eyes when saying these three words, making her seem more disturbingly innocent and cutesy in the process. From behind, a gust of wind blew through the two competitors.
"...How much of your attitude do you fake?" Makima simply asks once he pushed himself off the tree.
"Not as much as you do, Makima Jr.~" Hanako teases the boy whilst giggling.
"Ooo~ That's quite the cute nickname you've given me~" Makima suddenly gives the girl a wide smile and he responds in a tone that almost replicated that of the girl's. He sounded both amused and playful with these words, but it sounded almost like one big exaggeration rather than something completely genuine.
"Man, the sexual tension here really is heatin' things up!" Kai suddenly interjects by falling from a tree branch. He naturally just fell onto the ground as he did fall from a decent height, but it didn't seem too nasty as he stood back up moments later. His interruption made Makima and Hanako realize that the redhead must've been watching and listening in on their conversation from the tree branch above.
"You don't hold back when talking, do ya?" Makima asks as he placed a hand on his right hip.
"I wouldn't be the man I am today if I did so!" Kai answers before winking at the camera.
"Say, would you mind telling us your name? I and Junior over here arrived later, so we're missing a lot of people's names," Hanako requests with a nervous chuckle. Her nickname caused a slight eye twitch from the actor behind her.
"I don't mind at all. I'm Kai Hayashida, future spouse of Ryokai Shimashita!" Kai shamelessly declares before laughing slightly at the look of confusion on the duo's faces. Suddenly, a journal hits his head and causes the writer to stumble as a result.
"Do not pay him any mind, he's just stirring things up like he normally does," Ryokai informs the duo, her head then looking at Kai who finally stopped stumbling around and regained his balance.
"I ship it!" Hanako exclaims with a thumbs up.
"I'm glad somebody else sees my vision," Kai responds whilst placing a hand on his chest and smiling proudly.
"(Gross,)" Ryokai and Makima quietly commented their opinions on the red-haired boy and pink-haired girl agreeing about something. Multiple raptors were then spotted in the distance and all four of them faced the quick creatures that were approaching them.
"Last place becomes the rotten egg!~" Kai excitedly yells out before all of them went back to running away once again.
Meanwhile, Shiro could be seen jumping around on branches and even swinging on a few of them using his left hand since his right one was busy holding Mono and making sure that the bunny plushy wouldn't be damaged through all of this. He eventually ran out of branches that he could jump on and waited for the pack of raptors below him to pass by before jumping onto the ground. Once he landed on the ground, he turns around and watches another contestant step out from behind a tree, this contestant wore a black hoodie.
"Someone's an expert at the floor-is-lava," Luciana remarks, her comment was soon followed up by a chuckle from herself.
"What's your name?" Shiro decided that he would instead ask her a question.
"Luciana Ignis, I obviously may not be Japanese like everyone else here but Shiro and Mono are easy names to remember," Luciana answers, her eyes then looking over at the bunny plushy.
"What's your occupation?" Shiro asks yet another question.
"I'm a Thanatologist, so I'm particularly knowledgeable about death from every angle!" Luciana confirms with a disturbing amount of cheerfulness in her voice.
"Your ethnicity is British yet you have a Latin name and work a job named after a figure from Greek mythology? That's not a combination you see often," Shiro remarks without changing his monotone voice.
"My parents came up with my name after my brother's one and because they named him Lumina, naming me Luciana seemed only right in their blind eyes," Luciana explains with a slightly wider smile than normal.
"You're not shy about sharing details about yourself, are you?" Shiro points out before looking around the area in case any raptors were nearby.
"Considering the crucial information you gave Yana earlier about your love status, I figured that you're not someone who tries hiding much about himself either," Luciana explains whilst tilting her head, looking confused at why the emotionless boy would comment about sharing details.
"She's an exception. I'm certain that other people in this game will use sensitive information like that against us so that's why I'd recommend not sharing too much private information with others," Shiro says before finally, he started walking away from the black-haired thanatologist.
"Why would you give me such advice? Why would you give even Yana information like that without knowing much about her? Did you just come onto this show so you'd find some other lass that can help fill the hole in your now empty heart?~" Luciana guesses as the smile on her face slowly turned into a smirk.
"...I'll end you if you ever think that again," Shiro states before pulling out a pair of scissors from the left pocket of his grey coat.
"W-What are you-!?" Luciana asks before the pair of scissors is thrown in her direction. Her eyes widened and she ducks before it could hit her, causing it to conveniently stab the nose of the raptor behind and make it fall onto the ground. Now that she saw the dinosaur laying near her, she slowly looked back at the bunny-holding boy who had turned around and resumed walking away.
"Sayonara for now," Shiro simply says these departing words before he soon left the stunned girl.
"(Sayonara for now,)" Luciana quietly mocks the no-longer-present boy, then she pulls the pair of scissors out of the raptor's nose and runs away with it. Scissors weren't the best things, but she figured it'd be a better weapon than having nothing at all.
"..." Chara stepped out from behind another tree once the two contestants had left the spot.
[Confession: Chara]
Chara sat down and looked into the camera before giving her explanation like the person before her did, "I've been trying to stay in the middle of the pack so I could gain information from more people, whether they're catching up to me from behind or slowing down in the front. It would seem that a few people have stopped so they can have conversations or possibly catch their breaths, though most of them do a good job at hiding the latter if that is the case. The group of four didn't give me too much information aside from the redhead being an energetic presence that'll get on the nerves of some contestants... between Luciana and Shiro, however, I was able to some useful information about them and so I'll use that going forward. I'd rather not explain my exact mindset as I'll still need to gather information about other contestants and am still modifying my course of action, but I'm more certain now that this show will provide me with satisfactory results."
[Confession Ends]
In the front of the cast were seemingly the four fastest people, or at least they were the ones who didn't stop and talk with other people along the way. These four were in two pairs with one being only a few feet away from the other one. The pair who both seemed to be sharing first place was Jessica and Yana, the two girls having wide smiles on their faces for entirely different reasons.
"You're good!" Yana compliments the red-eyed girl who chuckled at what she says.
"I know I am, but what are you?!" Jessica remarks before she noticed a stump ahead of them.
"I'm surprised the raptors haven't tried taking us down yet!" Yana loudly states as she started slowing down.
"They probably know that we're too fast for even them to take down!" Jessica responds, her voice filled with confidence. Instead of slowing down, she just ran even faster and jumped right over the stump entirely while Yana used her hands so she could push herself off the stump and get over it that way. The two did get over the obstacle but Jessica landed farther ahead and was able to stop herself from tripping over herself before looking behind her. Yana did tumble onto the ground despite having landed on the other side at a slower speed, but she was able to roll through and get back on her feet in no time. Jessica looked away after seeing this and continued running ahead so she could keep her lead, making Yana have to play catch-up as the two resumed their race.
Behind the two were Rival and Rellik who both ran around the stump on opposite ends before coming back together ahead of it.
"There's no way... are beating... meeeh!" Rellik found himself breathing heavily as he tried to keep up with the girls.
"I bet you must be feelin' like a Rellik of the past now," Rival remarks, showing little signs of exhaustion in contrast to his blue-eyed competitor.
"You're more annoying... than that Kai guy," Rellik already found himself annoyed at the red-eyed competitor who shrugged at the comment.
"Are you sayin' that because of the pun or because I'm not struggling like you are at keeping up with my sister and her new friend?" Rival asks, a smirk now slightly present within his smile.
"I'm saying that... because of your... ENTIRE EXISTENCE!" Rellik loudly answers, his entire body struggling to continue this pace.
"(That makes two of us, then,)" Rival quietly responds before a bright idea then popped into his head, "Why don't you just pace yourself or start slowin' down? Nothing's at stake so you don't need to finish ahead of them."
"No... I'd rather... WIIIN!" Rellik shouts out and this magically sparked his resolve. He found himself suddenly becoming more focused as if he'd gained a wave of adrenaline that'll allow him to keep up this current pace.
"..." Rival went silent at what he was hearing and seeing. He soon started speeding up and it now seemed like he was now actively trying so he could keep up with Rellik, though he also narrowed his eyes at the contestant. Both boys ran off with newfound determination in this low-stakes race that only the people ahead of them were taking seriously to some degree.
[Confession: Rellik]
"Do I sometimes get carried away? Absolutely," Rellik admits before leaning back against the lid of the toilet seat he's sitting on, "So I'll admit that insulting Red was me having a severe lapse in judgment and I'm sorry for insulting him. As for the girls who got ahead, I do respect them as competitors and wish them the best of luck in this game, but seeing as this is a game, I'm playing to win so hopefully neither of them takes anything too seriously, it's just a friendly game, after all!~" He then ends the confession with a wink for the camera.
[Confession Ends]
Speaking of who, Jessica and Yana found themselves spotting the finish line soon enough. Just as the host stated, it was at the bottom of the hill which led to the cliff that the contestants in the first season had jumped off from. At the finish line was Chris McLean himself and two small podiums which would likely be what each team will be standing on.
"Yes! Looks like I'll be finishing first!" Jessica cheerily declares, her feet bringing her closer to the finish line. She seemed relieved that her spot at first place, even if it was just for a friendly mini-competition she and the blonde had nonverbally agreed to, was ensured at this point. So she jumped into the air and raised a fist in the air in celebration.
"D-Damn..." Yana, on the other hand, looked as if she had almost run out of energy and was running on instinct at this point. Her red eyes watched her competition jump into the air in celebration and she slightly smiled, sure she was so far behind that she couldn't win at this point, but watching her sis-friend be happy about winning did soften the blow for her. Suddenly, her feet tripped over themselves and she crashes onto the ground.
"Y-Yana!" Jessica stops running after she lands on the ground and she turns to face her fallen friend.
Before she could do anything, a tail smacked Jessica from behind. Her eyes widened as she flew through the air for a few seconds before her body tumbled across the ground until it stopped.
"Owww..." Jessica spoke as she grabbed onto her back before looking at the raptor that had caught her off-guard.
Luckily, she rolled away before the prehistoric animal could jump onto her and she springs onto her feet moments later. Right as the raptor went to bite her, she spun out of its way and started running for the knocked-down blonde. Another raptor intercepted Jessica by running and slamming its head into her body, launching the girl into another tree back-first.
"FAUCK!" Jessica screamed out before she took more damage when her body fell onto the ground once it bounced off the tree.
Slowly, she began using the tree to get back on her feet even though her back wasn't feeling completely fine. Yet another roar pierced her ears and she jumped out of the way before yet another raptor could throw itself at her, causing the raptor to accidentally send itself through the tree which seen fell behind the black-haired girl. Jessica used the fallen tree to pull herself back up and she began slowly walking herself over to Yana.
"That should be-" Jessica's cut off before she could make it to the blonde by another charging raptor that sent her flying into the fallen tree.
This raptor chuckled before looking at Yana who finally started moving again. Her eyes slowly opened up and Yana tried pushing her tired body up before she looked in front of her as her blurry vision began clearing up. The horrifying sight she saw was a raptor running at her with an open jaw, her eyes staring into its mouth that was filled with drool and had an entrance filled with sharp teeth which could so easily tear her apart.
Moments before the raptor could finish her off, a pair of sneakers slammed into the dinosaur's face at near-vehicular speeds, causing a tooth to fly out. This running double-stomp to the raptor's face sent the creature rolling away and left it unconscious on the ground.
The sight took a second for the blonde to process and she stares at the person who kicked the dinosaur and even did a backflip afterward just so they could land on their feet.
"...Are you okay?" Rival asks before offering out a hand for the blonde. His voice didn't have a single trace of fear or doubt behind these words, instead, he sounded more reassuring and out-of-breath more than anything else.
Yana stared at his left hand with her eyes still widened. After processing what just happened she grabbed onto his hand and silently nodded before he pulled her onto her feet.
"Good, now go finish the race, I'll take care of Jessica," Rival states before letting go of Yana's hand and turning around so he could look at his sister's current location. Her body was sitting unconscious against the tree that had fallen earlier and three raptors were right behind the fallen tree and were about to jump over it so they could feast on their unconscious prey. After getting a grasp of the current predicament, the red-eyed contestant soon charged at the raptor who was the closest to his sister so he could fight them off.
"..." Yana remained unmoving because of how shocked she was by everything to the point she didn't even notice someone passing by her.
"The first-place person for the first challenge of this season and the first member of the first team is the first and only: Rellik!" Chris soon announces, finally catching the attention of the blonde who looked at the finish line.
"L-Let's... g-gooo!" Rellik cheers out loudly, he then high-fives the host before falling onto his back out of pure exhaustion.
[Confession: Rellik]
"Aaah~ It's good to be in first!" Rellik exclaims as he was not as tired as he'd been earlier, "I couldn't do much in helping out Red and his sister because of how tired I'd been, so that was quite unfortunate. I'm sure they can handle themselves though, I believe that as long as those two stick together, then nothing will beat the power of family! I'm hoping they don't hold any grudges against me for not stupidly throwing myself into danger when my body could barely even finish the race."
[Confession Ends]
"O-Oh, r-right-" Yana suddenly snaps back into reality and she tries walking over to the finish line, but her legs give out and she falls on the ground. Everything from the realization the dinosaurs still existed, the near-death experience she just had, and the exhaustion she felt all contributed to making her both mentally and physically drained by it all. Yet, she didn't move from the ground and instead just watched Rival do his thing.
"Looks like I'm the freshest egg!" Kai declares and he shockingly found himself near the finish line already. He did slow down and eventually stopped when seeing his sister on the ground and not doing anything to get herself up.
"..." Yana didn't say anything and so the redhead walked over before looking at what she was watching.
"Need any help?" A monotone came from behind the redhead.
"Oh sh-!" Kai jumps in surprise and he turns around to see Shiro slow down before he finished the race. After calming himself down in a matter of seconds, he smiled at the plushy-holding boy and nodded, "Yep! Would you mind helping out me and my sister?~"
"Sure," Shiro responds before both boys then lifted the blonde off the ground and wrapped her arms around them.
"(Hey sis?...)" Kai whispers into his sister's ears. Although her attention was elsewhere, she leaned her head so she could hear what her brother would say, "(Welcome to Total Drama~)"
These words snapped Yana out of her state of shock and looked between the two boys who eventually carried her through the finish line with them. By the time they crossed the finish line, Yana had gained enough strength back into her legs. Kai and Shiro soon let go of the girl and let her stand once they noticed that she could do so by herself once more.
"You've finished in second, by the way, Yana! That makes you the first member of the second team!" Chris loudly informs the blonde who then looks over at the host.
"Oh, th-that's great!" Yana tries responding with a livelier voice.
"Should we help him out?" Shiro questions as he turns around and looks at the events happening near the finish line.
"He'll live, shock collar, remember?" Chris reminds the three contestants in front of him and waves the button on his hand.
"Can I borrow that thing?~" Kai asks, his eyes completely fixated on the electrifying object.
"If you wanna give yourself shock therapy, maybe," Chris sarcastically answers before holding the button further away from the redhead.
"Shit!~" Kai responded before smiling straight into the camera.
"Also, Kai, because you finished in third, that means you're on Rellik's team. Shiro, you're on Yana's team," Chris instructs the two boys who looked at each other before looking at the blonde.
"I'm sorta relieved we're not on the same team, it allows us to divide and conquer!" Kai optimistically declares after wrapping an arm around his sister.
"You're just happy that you can do whatever you want on your team without me being there," Yana responds, sighing at the fact her brother wouldn't be with her on the same team.
"You know me so well, sis!" Kai exclaims, he then tightly hugged his sister before pulling a Hanako by skipping over to the same podium that Rellik had been laying down on for some time now.
"Mono and I are glad that you're our teammate," Shiro speaks for himself and his plushy. He then held up Mono and made him wave at the blonde who giggled at the silly and childlike action.
"I'm glad the three of us are a team, too," Yana responds as she went to shake the plushy's hand.
"Mono doesn't like being petted by other people but me," Shiro's voice stops the blonde from going through with the action. Although his voice hadn't changed in tone, the hair currently being raised on her back told her that doing this wasn't a smart idea.
"R-Right! Sorry 'bout that!" Yana says after pulling away from the plushy with some drops of sweat rolling down her forehead.
"It's okay, thanks for listening." Shiro thanks the girl before looking at Mono who he now held with both hands and stared at. Seeing this as a fine place to end their small talk, Yana looks away from the boy and went back to watching the action in front of her.
[Confession: Yana]
"Shiro seems like such a sweet boy and I find Mono absolutely adorable!~" Yana squeals out, though her smile then shifted into something filled with nervousness and some fear, "But he also sorta scares me sometimes with how blank he's been acting so far and I'm pretty sure that he's hiding some weapons in his pockets, so I'm hoping that no one on the team gets on his bad side since I wouldn't like him when he's angry... thinking about it, has he even watched any Marvel movies?-"
The camera cuts away before the blonde could get more into her tangent about the rabbit hole of questions she could have about Shiro and his life.
[Confession Ends]
Three people were seen approaching the finish line next.
"Oh. Look at which group decided-" Kai recognized the trio as Makima, Hanako, and Ryokai who were all getting close.
He's soon smacked in the face and knocked out by a book called 'The Book of Karma'. This book was launched by Ryokai who sighed in relief knowing that she had landed an effective headshot.
[Confession: Ryokai]
"Explanation: Whilst the four of us were running away from the raptors, we did lose them... until Kai 'accidentally' dropped his book in our direction and had already left before we could properly scold him," Ryokai confirms with closed eyes. After opening them, an idea then popped into her mind, "Maybe I could rewatch that throwing scene on my phone after this season is over. I'm certain that even viewing the season we're on as its airing would be 'cheating' on a level even he wouldn't be fine with, especially since doing that not only incentivizes to keep secrets from production, but it takes away from dramatic irony which allows the editors to sometimes have fun when putting together a season. Though that does make me wonder... is there some way someone can do that without needing the internet?"
[Confession Ends]
"What's going on over there?" Makima slows down after noticing the strange situation happening near the finish line.
Rival was soon thrown into a tree near the trio and is sent crashing through it in the process. There was now tree bark all over his body and there were bite marks on his sleeves and leggings which went into his skin. His body then rolls on the ground and crashes into yet another tree which dropped a few branches onto him for good measure, creating multiple cuts across his face now.
"It seems that there's a raptor beating him up and is now coming in our direction..." Ryokai says as her eyes were mainly focused on the two unconscious raptors who seemed like they were taken out. Jessica had gotten back on her feet at this point but was looking in the direction of her brother who was currently on the ground. Near her brother was a raptor that was running in the trio's direct- "Oh! The raptor is coming in our direction!"
"How lovely~" Hanako casually respond before staring at the dinosaur. From what she could observe, it was specifically aiming for her and so her hands reached into the many pockets of her skirt so she could counter this creature. Before she could go through with her action, she abruptly stops moving entirely and just remained staring into the eyes of the raptor charging at her.
"Move out of the way!" Makima yells out as he and Ryokai tried running for the pink-haired girl.
Before the raptor could bite the girl, Hanako noticed someone else jumping at the creature.
"I'M STILL ALIVE, BIIITCH!" Rival cries out as he tackled the raptor across the ground and the two of them rolled for a few seconds until they both completely stopped moving. This made pretty much everyone freeze as they tried to process what they just watched.
"D... Did he just-?" Makima was the first to speak up, though he wanted to double-check what he'd seen first.
"Confirmation: He just tackled a raptor," Ryokai immediately answers the question without needing to hear out the entire thing. There was a very slight smile of amusement on her face as she giggled, "(That's not something you see every day.)"
"..." Hanako slowly faced the knocked-down human and dinosaur. Her eyes were now covered and she didn't physically react even though many thoughts were running through her active mind.
"R-Rival..." Jessica spoke as she tried limping her way over to her brother. Before she could even get close, Yana ran over and wrapped her right arm around her neck so she could support the black-haired sister.
"We gotta get you across the finish line, just so we can make up for you not getting the first place you deserved!" Yana regains her cheery nature and she begins dragging the Seizon sibling with her.
"Wh-What a-about-?"
"He's gotten through this, hasn't he? He's still alive..." Yana counters with a reminder of their conversation from earlier in the day.
"...Biiitch~" Jessica finishes that sentence, causing both sisters to giggle before they continued walking ahead. Soon, the black-haired sister's body is carried over the finish line where both girls collapse onto the ground and took a nap. They were both exhausted by the day and took the time to get some rest.
"Our fifth-place finisher and the third member of Rellik's team thanks to the first-place finisher of the other team is Jessica!" Chris declares whilst pointing at the downed sisters.
This woke up Rival who had seemingly heard the host's words because of how close he'd been to the finish line. After lifting his head so he could look ahead, he saw both girls laying down on the other side of the finish line. Seeing the two happy and alive made him grow a smile at the sight, though this also made him not notice something very important happening nearby.
"Watch out!" Rival heard Makima's voice yell out. His head then turns and sees the raptor he tackled dive for him with an open jaw.
"..." Rival didn't even try screaming or moving out of the way at the sight, not that he could even physically dodge this in the state he was in anyways. His dull-red eyes looked into the mouth of the beast as there was one emotion going through him, one which possessed him completely. This emotion was apathy. In the face of potentially dying, all he could feel is numbness and indifference at the prospect. A part of his mind did wonder if anyone even had the energy or courage to save him right about now, but it was just that... a mere thought.
A thrown knife then goes through the raptor's neck and decapitates the creature entirely. Its head flew into the air before landing by the body it'd been separated from which had stopped moving entirely. The knife that cut through the dinosaur then stabbed itself into the ground right at the finish line, blue blood going across the blade.
"H-Huh?" Rival's pupils shrunk at the sight and he slowly looked over into the direction in which the knife was thrown from.
"Now we're even!~" Hanako innocently spoke, everyone who was standing now had eyes on her.
"U-Uhhh... th-thanks," Rival hesitantly responds as he started backing away from the pink-haired girl now that he had sat up. Knowing that the girl could cut off heads by throwing a knife left him wary of the girl, specifically with how casually she treated the whole thing. He couldn't say that he was afraid of Hanako, but there was a newfound level of caution he felt by just looking at her.
"O-Oh! Our sixth-place finisher is Rival!" Chris yells upon realizing something.
"Perfect! Ryokai, would you mind staying behind as I and Makima finish this?~" Hanako cheerfully requests the journalist.
"I-I d-don't mind," Ryokai accepts it without any hesitation. Her grip on her journal soon tightened and there was even a hint of fear in her voice as she took a step back from the pink-haired contestant.
"Makima?~"
"N-Nope, that sounds like an excellent plan," Makima tries responding as calmly as he could and although he does pull it off enough, his stuttering at the start made it clear that he wasn't feeling entirely comfortable now.
"Let's do this, then!" Hanako excitedly declares before her and the actor ran across the finish line moments later.
"Wrapping up the first half of our finishers are Makima at seventh and Hanako in eighth place!" Chris found himself getting back into announcer mode now that he's been given some time to move past what had just occurred.
[Confession: Chris McLean]
"Alright, I'll admit that I've never cared much about looking over at our contestant's applications and have skimmed through most of them," Chris freely admits, deciding that he'd rather stand than sit down on the toilet. He then scratched the back of his head, "I'm thinking about changing that considering the terrifying contestant we've got on our hands this season, who I would not mind if I knew that I'd even be safe around her."
[Confession Ends]
"Finish whenever you want, now," Hanako informs the journalist who remained standing like a statue.
"A-Alright," Ryokai responds, making sure her eyes were looking away from the decapitated dinosaur as she did so.
"Finishing the race in ninth and the fifth member of Rellik's team is Ryokai!" Chris announces as Ryokai looked at Kai who was only now regaining his consciousness.
[Confession: Ryokai]
"Never thought I'd say this, but being on a team with Kai doesn't seem like a bad outcome for me considering the alternative," Ryokai confirms as her stone-faced expression finally returned. She then pulls out her journal and began writing into it, "I'm not someone who intentionally writes negative things about the people I'm observing as doing that can backfire massively if someone finds out about it... but with Hanako, I'll just refer to her as 'Scary Girl' in my entries since it's only appropriate for her at this point. At least with Kai, I know I'm getting someone with writing experience and is well-known for being a pain in the neck."
"(Awww~ You do care about me!)" Kai's voice could be heard coming from outside the outhouse.
"On second thought, I'll just call him 'pest' in my entries," Ryokai immediately responds as she wrote into her journal.
"(You're such a tsundere!~)" Kai spoke once again before his footsteps could be heard getting farther away with each step. Things between the two of them seemed destined to continue at this point.
"Wait... wouldn't I be more of a kuudere?"
[Confession Ends]
"D-Dammit looks like I placed later than I'd expected," Luciana comments once she crossed the finish line. She seemed more tired than other contestants here and her eyes looked at the plushy-holding boy who gave her a pair of scissors earlier.
"In tenth place and the fifth member of Yana's team is Luciana! That leaves us with just six contestants left who haven't finished yet," Chris confirms.
"You all... seem to be doing-" Luciana was about to say before noticing the state that Rellik, Yana, Jessica, and Rival were all in. This made her realize that not everyone had gotten through the challenge without a problem.
"Yeah, those three were fighting some raptors earlier, so they're fine," Kai sarcastically remarks after he got back on his feet.
"We should bring them on top of the cliff so they can feel the wind, cooling them down will make their rest feel better," Luciana suggests as she looks around at the people around her.
"I-I... can do it m-myself..." Rival insists before getting himself off the ground even though he was the person who had gone through the most pain.
"I'll help a fellow brother out!" Kai goes against Rival's wishes by wrapping his left arm around his neck.
"I'll take care of Yana," Shiro volunteers himself before he pulls Yana off the ground and carries her. Of course, he only used his right arm for this as his left hand was still busy holding Mono like always.
"Who wants to do Rellik?" Luciana asks the group, only for the star-eyed boy to spring onto his feet almost immediately.
"I can do it myself!" Rellik proudly exclaims, his body filled with energy once more. His eyes somehow popped out even more and this made everyone feel like following his command.
"I'll take Jessica up then," Luciana confirms as she picked up the black-haired sister.
"I'm glad that I chose my brother-from-another-sister in that case!~" Kai comments before rubbing his head against the Seizon brother's cheeks. This got a look of confusion from Rival and an eye twitch from Hanako. The slight sign of anger got a smirk from Makima.
[Confession: Hanako]
"Do I wish that I'd be the one who could've taken care of my koibito? Of course. But that red-haired nuisance asserted himself quicker than even I, so I'll just have to make sure that I'll take my chances sooner than anyone else will in the future," Hanako states with crossed arms.
[Confession: Makima]
"Considering the number of times she's called me by her annoying nickname, it feels nice watching her feel some of the rage I've been feeling every time we've spoken," Makima explains before laughing a bit more. His mood did shift into something more serious afterward, "I'm looking forward to facing off against her in competitions... sure, she'll be a scary opponent, but that'll just make the times when I'll beat her even better! Overcoming fear in the most important moments are simple but effective scenes and doing that against a lowlife like her will make it even more satisfying for me."
[Confessions Ends]
With the seven contestants walking up the nearby hill, this left the familiar trio of Makima, Ryokai, and Hanako all by themselves. Luckily for the three of them, they would soon be greeted by yet another contestant who had stepped out from behind a tree.
[Confession: Chara]
"Well, hiding behind that tree has given me more information than I could have ever anticipated," Chara confirms before crossing her legs and looking at the floor. Her eyes then stared into the camera as she explained part of what she has learned so far, "Hanako is someone worth looking out for as she poses a physical threat but it doesn't look like she'll play much of a strategic game and it seems that her social skills is a mixed bag which can be obliterated easily if you push her enough or if you're Makima. Unlike most other people here, I can take a good guess as to her motives for being here, if my first interaction with her is anything to go by, though she's the exception here. Once I've figured that out about her and other people, however, then my social experiment can proceed smoothly."
[Confession Ends]
"Finishing just right after almost half the cast left to get some air in eleventh place and is the sixth member of Rellik's team: Chara!" Chris states once the scientist walked across the finish line.
"Greetings Makima and Ryokai," Chara greets her teammates once she stepped on the podium.
""You know my name?"" Both the actor and the journalist asked in unison.
"You two aren't the only contestants who researched the cast before our season started," Chara swiftly answered that question fairly quickly with closed eyes.
"How'd you three get the cast list before the season started?" Hanako wonders from her podium whilst tilting her head.
"We have our methods, some requiring far less deception than others," Ryokai answered the question by giving absolutely no answers. Makima and Chara did both nod in agreement as what the journalist said wasn't wrong in the slightest.
"Who couldn't you guys gain any information on, then?~" Hanako asks the trio, her eyes shutting and the tone of her voice turning into something that sounded more condescending now.
"""...""" None of the trio said anything since all four of them already knew one of the answers to that question.
"(Pissing off the other team is a good strategy,)" Chris whispers into the pink-haired girl's ears before backing away from her.
"I've finished in fifth place? Well, that's hardly unbelievable for someone like myself," Sazama comments once he reached the finish line. After he confidently laughed, his feet crosses over the finish line. He seemed completely unaware of the tension-filled situation in front of him or just didn't care.
"Finishing in twelfth place and the sixth member of Yana team is Yoshi-oh!" Chris adds insult to the verbal injury he abruptly created for the inventor.
"Ack! Getting last place in something physical? That just reminded me of why I despised rope-climbing class," Sazama states as he fell onto his knees.
"You mean gym?" Makima immediately recognizes the name of the class Sazama was actually referring to.
"Whatever, that dumb class was never worth my attention anyways!" Sazama declares as he soon punched the ground. He then grabbed his right hand out of pain and fell onto his back after doing that dumb action.
[Confession: Sazama]
"Gyms and I never truly got along... the class, not people named Jim," Sazama explains whilst he was shaking his right hand which he still felt some pain from. An idea then popped into his mind and he started touching the camera filming him, "Putting that subject aside, my stellar robot-building skills could help me win this game, especially if they can help me gain the secrets of every other character."
After messing around with the camera for some time, he sits back with a wide grin spread across his face, "If you're wondering what brilliant move I've pulled off, then I'll gladly explain it! I'm planting a small ant robot into the camera which means it'll be filming everything that this camera will be filming. So every time I'll go into in here, I'll have the opportunity to look into the footage from other contestants which I can take advantage of... maybe it could help me know more about them, actually."
The grin on his face then shrank into something smaller and more hopeful, "Yeah, maybe it could help me learn about all those other people and about what could turn them into my fri-I mean, my followers!"
[Confession Ends]
"Weee!" Gogo tiredly cheered with raised hands as she was seen flying out of the forest.
"AHHH!" Kazuru screamed out with flailing arms as he'd been seen also flying out of the forest.
An explosion then went off near the spot where the two were launched from.
"EXPLOSION!" Kazuru tries taking credit for the explosion before the sleepy girl and he landed past the finish line.
"In thirteenth place and the seventh member of Rellik's team is Gogo, and only a few feet of flying distance away from her is our fourteenth finisher and the seventh member of Yana's team: Kazuru Badasu!... I've got no idea what just happened," Chris admits with a shrug once he finished announcing the updated placements.
"Well, ye see-!" Kazuru prepared to explain what had happened in great and confusing detail.
"We both escaped raptors chasing us... with the help of some landmines," Gogo not-so-quickly explains the situation and yet it's likely still a lot shorter than the answer Kazuru would've given.
"CHRIIIS!" Chef could be heard in the distance.
"You hear that? That's the sound of me abandoning the landmine ideas for the next few challenges," Chris confirms before sighing in disappointment. Although he could get away with tricking Chef and taking action behind his back, he couldn't go against the guy once he found out about stuff. It was essentially one of the conditions he had to follow if he wanted another season since Chef would be playing peacekeeper for him.
"Awww~" Kazuru responds as he looks at the ground. Meanwhile, Gogo stepped over onto the same podium the rest of her team was on and specifically stood by Makima who smiled at her.
[Confession: Kazuru]
"Explosions are the grandest sights a mage can be beholden to! So having such a thing be stripped away 'tis a shame," Kazuru explains before sighing at the news. Suddenly, he grabs onto his eyepatch and speaks further, "That just gives me more motivation to bridge the gap between fantasy and reality by creating magic in this dull world! And I'll achieve that by sparking large explosions that'll blow away the Gods above!"
[Confession: Gogo]
"Some people here... they wear masks... no matter where they go..." Gogo confirms before letting out a sigh and leaning against the toilet lid behind her, "It's draining... watching some of these kids... or maybe I'm just biased... I've always been more of a fan of stories where you understand characters and don't have to think about whether or not they have alternative motives... the world is complicated, but sometimes I do wish that things were more simple or that I'd never have to question other people and be careful when placing my trust in them."
[Confessions Ends]
"And here comes our final two contestants who haven't finished the race yet!" Chris announces as Arthur and Rosie dropped from separate branches of the same tree. Arthur lands on both feet and stabs his sword in the ground, making him come off as somewhat dramatic even if it wasn't even his intention in the first place. On the other hand, Rosie faceplanted onto the ground and needed some seconds before she could even start moving again.
"Where'd you even get the sword from?" Rosie tries distracting everyone from her failure by pointing at Arthur's weapon.
"Amazon," Arthur blankly answered.
"I meant how did you-?!"
"Hurry up! We're on a schedule here and the sun's almost setting!" Chris yells with nothing but impatience.
"(O-Okay...)" Rosie quietly responds, she then started running behind the prince who had already taken off.
"Thank you! The last member of Rellik's team is our fifteenth-place finisher, Arthur, and the last member of Yana's team is the person in last place, Rosie!" Chris yells out, officially ending the challenge in the process.
[Confession: Arthur]
"Roses are Rosie. Arthur is Blue. I don't know where this attempted joke was gonna lead into," Arthur fails in opening up his confession with a joke since he didn't think it through beforehand. But he does clear his throat which will help him get through this lengthy explanation, "Today's challenge will be an outlier going forward as there's no way of winning it and it'll have minor effects at most considering that there's no elimination tonight and so everyone, including me, was less serious about winning this thing than normal. Something like this isn't what people typically prepare for on Total Drama as they instead prepare physically by creating the most dangerous stunts they can pull off with the limited resources they've got at their disposal. Even as surprised as I was by the circumstances, the plan today was simple... gain a loyal ally from the other team and take out the team who I believe poses the most threats to my game if they make it into the merge. Finishing in almost dead last is technically the best option for a strange situation like this as not only does it allow you to see everyone you'll be playing with and against, but if you've also seen how the placements decide our teams, which is recommended considering how vaguely Chris worded it, then you'd know what'd get you onto your desired tea."
"So now that I've chosen my team and have gotten my desired results for today... I can say that my game has now started," Arthur declares, this time the smallest smile crept onto his face when saying these words.
[Confession Ends]
"Where's everyone else?" Rosie asks after noticing that only Hanako, Sazama, and Kazuru were on the podium for her team.
"Oh right... CAMPERS! GET DOWN HERE!" Chris yells up the hill.
"Explanation: Due to the poor conditions of Rellik, Yana, Jessica, and Rival, they were all taken up so they could all cool down. This idea was suggested by Luciana," Ryokai informs the v-tuber.
[Confession: Rosie]
"It couldn't have been that bad!" Rosie remarks as she rolled her eyes.
[Confession Ends]
By the time the seven contestants returned, Rosie's eyes widened at the state Rival was in.
[Confession: Rosie]
"It was that bad?!" Rosie immediately takes back her words.
[Confession Ends]
"I'm sure you'll all be fine by the next episode," Chris dismissively comments. Yana and Jessica had woken up by now and could walk by themselves, allowing everyone to stand with the rest of their teams now.
"Rellik, Kai, Jessica, Makima, Ryokai, Chara, Gogo, and Arthur, you're all members of The Ferocious Trout!" Chris announces, getting almost no reactions from the group in the process as they didn't care much about team names.
"Yaaay!" Kai at least seemed to like it.
"Yana, Shiro and Mono, Rival, Hanako, Luciana, Sazama, Kazuru, and Rosie, you're all members of The Frogs of Death!" Chris announces again, this time he got more reactions from the group.
"(Death truly is inescapable for me...)" Luciana quietly remarks before sighing.
"(I kinda love it,)" Hanako mutters in response to the thanatologist.
"Unfortunately, this roleplayer doesn't have much of a connection Frogs," Kazuru responds, feeling disappointed once more.
"...Really, Rosie? Nothin' from you?" Chris noticed a lack of a response from a certain v-tuber.
"O-Oh! I'm not a frog!" Rosie randomly blurts out after the host gains her attention.
"Indeed, you're a parrot 'cause you're a pain in my neck," Chris takes a verbal shot at the girl.
"..." Rosie didn't say anything in response and all she did was pout and look down.
"I don't know if I like the sudden change in attitude or not," Chris comments as he crossed his arms.
"I haven't seen a raptor in a while so I'm assuming that it's safe now," Chef confirms and he walked over by the host.
"I'm just gonna assume that you all somehow killed or knocked out all the raptors we've sent out today... but it doesn't hurt to double-check," Chris states and he picks up the shock-collar button before pressing it.
"AHHHHH!" Rival screams out before he fell to the ground. During his fall, a piece of metal fell out of his tiny fangs and it landed right by the host who immediately recognized where the metal must've come from.
"Oh... what a nice little shocker!" Chris remarks before sadistically laughing at the boy who was now twitching on the ground.
"Please don't ever make a pun ever again," Rellik responds while holding back a groan.
"Don't make a joke out of electrifying a contestant!" Jessica seemed more upset at the host. Chef crossed his arms and nods in agreement with the black-haired sister.
"It just felt right, okay? Here, Yana, you carry him with you guys to your team's cabin, alright?" Chris instructs the blonde who jumped slightly at the command.
"W-Wait, are the boys and girls sleeping in the same cabin?" Yana reasonably asks the host.
"Yes. You're all of legal age and besides, we casted some aces this season for a reason," Chris bluntly answers the question.
"Wow, thanks," Arthur dryly responded.
"Here are the maps to each of your cabins," Chef passes out two rolled-up maps in the hopes of moving on from the conversation. Yana jumped up and caught the map with ease whilst Rellik almost dropped his map and only caught it before it landed on the ground. Each first-placer then opened their maps and sighed in relief at how relatively short the walk to their cabins seemed to be.
"See you campers, tomorrow, where the elimination part of the game starts!" Chris announces before he walked away with Chef following him.
"Alright team, let's wrap the day up and take our beauty rests!" Rellik tells the rest of his team whilst looking behind him.
"Huh?... I'm a beauty?... What about my beast?" Gogo remarks before stretching out her arms and yawning.
"I guess a 'beauty rest' doesn't really exist for you," Ryokai notes as she literally notes this fact down in her journal.
"Well, some people just need to sleep for them to have their 'beauty rests'!~" Jessica points out whilst pointing at herself.
"You mean someone like me?~" Makima asks in a non-serious manner, causing both him and Jessica to laugh together at their comments. The two seemed like they could understand when the other one was joking around.
"Hey, Ice Prince-!" Kai tries wrapping both of his arms around the prince.
"Don't touch me," Arthur threatens the redhead by tapping the tip of his sword's blade against his chest. In an unfamiliar sight, the redhead backed off for once and decided that he'd look over at the scientist.
"I'll make the same request that he did," Chara counters any ideas that the redhead could have almost immediately.
"I wasn't plannin' on it anyway!" Kai honestly declares before he approached the star-eyed contestant, though his comment got a raised eyebrow from the scientist. Rellik and Kai then found themselves leading the group who then walked off so they could find their cabin. Chara blinked a few times and before she walked off with the rest of her group, she looked over at the other group.
"Shiro, Can you hold the map?" Yana asks her teammate.
"Sure," Shiro accepts the offer before watching the blonde pick up their unconscious teammate.
"Why don't you two let me hold the map? It'll allow you both to carry your toys without any extra complications," Sazama stood in front of the duo so he could make them this offer. Though his comment did cause the two to narrow their eyes at the robot builder.
"Sazama! The two of us have a discussion regarding your future builds! We must get started sooner rather than later!" Kazuru distracts the boy by reminding him of their earlier deal.
"If that's your request, then Sazama shall fulfill it!" Sazama also yells out in response before he went with the eyepatch-wearing contestant.
"(Thanks,)" Yana mouthed over to Kazuru who nodded at the girl before starting his conversation with the robot builder.
"What the hell did you guys go through earlier to be in this state?" Rosie wonders as she approached her three teammates.
"What happened to you?" Luciana asks an equally valid from behind the v-tuber, her finger pointing at the girl's ankles.
"...I-I'd rather not talk about it," Rosie answers by avoiding the question entirely and looking toward the ground.
"Alright then, let's all have a girl talk about something else!~" Hanako suggests after wrapping her arms around both girls. They had no time to reject the offer as they were soon dragged away by the pink-haired teammate.
"Mono and I will go ahead so we can lead the team," Shiro informs the blonde before walking off. His comment caused some giggles from Yana who was once again amused by the white-haired boy's comment.
"We've got quite the team, don't we?" Yana asks the boy who wasn't conscious.
Yet, Rival unconsciously smiled and leaned onto the girl holding him up.
"..." Yana felt her face heat up pretty quickly as she looks down at the boy.
[Confession: Yana]
Yana didn't immediately speak to the camera, in fact, she took some time to compose herself and even sighed. She did eventually speak up since this was practically the only place where she could voice out her true thoughts, "Standing there, watching him brutalize himself against those raptors for the sake of his sister... it makes me feel guilty for not stepping in sooner and just watching him throw himself into danger. But, something about the sight just captivated me since although I'm still in disbelief about the fact that dinosaurs still exist, watching him fight them off and keep going on even when he kept getting badly hurt... and then watching him even protect Hanako even though his body was already hurt badly... it just feels like a fairytale. Is that a little corny for me to say? Sure, but I can already tell that some unbelievable events will happen here and that's only one of many of them... it's just that, in this case, the event in question is just a magical sight that I'm glad to see."
[Confession Ends]
Yana soon carried Rival away with her into the woods. Chara watched this all go down and now had a faint smirk present on her face before she looks into the woods and stepped into them moments later. What she would do with the information? What plans were going through her mind? What kind of social experiment is she trying out on this show? Maybe one of these questions will be answered next time...
Queen Bee - Mephisto
Rasuto chansu ni ueta tsumasaki ga, [My toes, hungry for a last chance,]
Sazama was seen proudly singing on top of a random stage.
Odoridasu mama kaketa kono yozora, [Began to dance across the night sky,]
Kai took the microphone from him and he danced across the stage.
Nami no sutansu ja nabikanai, Hoshi wa houseki no akogare. [An ordinary stance won't sway me, Stars are the jewels of my desires.]
Rellik swiped the microphone so he could sing into it next, his star-eyes seeming more sparkly than usual.
Ukabu namida to ase wa chi no nagori, [Tears and sweat that will surface,]
Makima slides in front of him as he sang his part into a different microphone.
Me no naka de shika oyogenakya shibai, [Traces of blood you swim in the eyes of someone else is but a play,]
Chara stood behind the actor once he stoped sliding and she sang into a microphone of her own.
Dakedo suteeji ga nigasani, Itsuitsu made mo akogare... kagareteiru yo. [But the stage won't let me go, I'll keep seeking it forever more... longing for it.]
Kazuru looked down during his singing portion, only for Hanako to finish his part of the lyrics after she stole his microphone.
I've never seen such a liar.
Gogo sang without a microphone before closing a book in her hands.
Umaretsuki tatte no sokonashi. [Born of the abyss.]
Arthur emptily spoke with a microphone in hand.
This lie is love and this lie is a gift to the world.
Rosie jumped in front of the prince and was full of life when she sang.
Dare to ikita ka omoidashite- [Remember who you lived alongside with-]
Ryokai and Luciana sang together using the same microphone.
Watashi ga inochi wa! Kakeru kara, ageru karaaa~ [I'll risk my life for you! I'll give it to you~]
Rival and Jessica passionately sang together, the stage around them were then set ablaze.
Anata wa jikan wo! Kureta no deshou? [You gave me this time! Didn't you?]
Shiro and Yana stared at opposite sides of the fire as he continued singing.
Arayuru nozomi no subete wo! Kanaetaraaa hatasetaraaa~ [If all my desires come true! Oh, How I wish I could attain that~]
Jessica fell onto her knees and the trail of fire across the stage began leading behind her.
Anata ni aitai! Hoshi ni negai wo kakete. [I want to see you! So I wish upon the stars.]
Rival stood behind his sister and continued singing, even as the flames were burning him. His body then collapsed into a bunch of ashes which formed the title of the season one more time-

Author's Notes:
Well, it's been over a year since I've last made or updated a Total Drama story and half a year since I've even updated any of my stories... so naturally, I decided to hop onto the trend of having a cast entirely composed of my characters rather than making another SYOC! Honestly, I was hesitant in making this story for a while as the idea had been in my mind since the beginning of the year, but I've held off on it as I tried working more on "Messiah Beats!" (which a crossover story between Persona 3 and Angel Beats) since I'm five chapters into that one and do have one more chapter before the "first act" of that story ends, but making progress on that story at this point is growing difficult since I'm looking back at other sources to make sure things remain accurate whilst adding enough new things to it so I'm not just copy and pasting the work of Jun Maeda, which is draining me now more than it did previously as my plans have already resulted in multiple changes as if I'm fitting together yet another jigsaw puzzle.
With my other stories being more focused on adapting already existing characters and requiring different mindsets so I could get through either story, I've decided that making a story free of concerns about messing up other characters (since my history of SYOCs have resulted in that happening often now that I look back at my previous work) and one where I've still got a vague enough based to work off on (with this story's basis being the 2023 season of Total Drama as evident by all the mentions of it) could help me get back into writing again. Plus, only 3 of them are even in stories that have been updated recently and have gotten off the ground... and one of those are a Dangaonronpa fanfiction, so it's not like most of them have anything going on for them anyways.
This story will serve as my interpretation of my characters if they all had to compete against each other, so it's very specific scenario and not the definitive versions for any of my characters (they're just what I'd think my characters would act like in these situations) and I do deeply appreciate different interpretations that still work for my characters, which is why I usually go overboard in putting details into them. Most of them will be working off a single backstory (as those are the only ones I've got for them) but for the characters with multiple backstories, I'll be mixing them together for this story and the same will apply to their personalities. Basically, they're all another version I've created specifically for this story.
Two other characters I had in mind for this were Shizuka Nanako and Winter Kurosaki but decided that giving other characters a chance would be fair, plus they're currently having portrayals that I'm very happy with and so I've currently got little motivation in writing them myself when other people are already doing it well. Yana and Arthur also have had amazing portrayals so far, but I do think that their involvement in the story will enhance it enough that they're worth putting in here. There's also Rival, but he's a character who thrives off interactions with other characters and always has a lot too much potential in interactions with other characters for me to leave him out, especially with this cast. So those are my reasons for excluding and including certain characters.
I was hoping that this first chapter would reach at least 30K words but the challenge was a lot shorter than I'd expected with it only taking up almost half of the episode after the introduction... though that's probably for the best as this was already long and there's always future episodes that could reach that amount. Especially since this one got close with about 26K+ words... aiming for that amount will probably burn me out in future chapters and I'll make sure to continue focusing on making these only as long as I feel like they could go on for, but I'm sure the thought will always be there.
Before I needlessly ramble on any longer, I'll just give a special shoutout to ninjedi for being the beta-reader for this chapter. My other shoutouts will go to thedragonrooster, MorbidGinger, and The Feline Overlord for each inspiring to make this with their respective all-OC stories! And now with that out of the way-!
PEACE OUT!
