The sea roared in outrage. Waves crashed against the coast in fury. Purplish blue talons pounded on the sand of the beach, running for the unwelcoming sea; it'd be safer there than out here at least. The seawing was worried, she was confused, she was angry, but most of all, she was terrified; the bone chilling hiss and roar of her once beloved partner rattled her to the core. Levithan could almost feel the burning fury of Silica, actually, that was probably just the literal heat sandwings admitted from their scales as Silica crashed down from the sky, lightning crackling above her, illuminating Silica's pale yellow and red scales, as well as her dangerous barbed tail. Silica and Levithan barreled onto the sand, a growling and hissing ball of clashing deep purple and sand colored scales. Levithan managed to pin Silica, stamping a foot onto Silica's tail to keep her tail secured. Levithan was bigger and heavier than Silica, but Silica was still a very threatening dragon, especially when she was this furious, she clawed at Levithan, and snapped her jaws filled with sharp gleaming teeth, she eventually tired herself out when Levithan refused to move, enduring the vicious attacks. Silica's snake like eyes gazed into Levithan's, giving her a look of pure hatred, Levithan only looking back with a solemn expression.
It was only a few days before that Levithan would've been comfortable with Silica's gaze, back then there had only been a protective and loving look in those eyes, but now here is Silica now, pinned under Levithan, hissing with hatred for the seawing. Silica had always been a bit odd; she had an odd obsession with snakes and magic, everyone assumed this was because of Silica's father, ViperTyrant, he runs a store that sells enchanted objects, even ones with custom spells cast by ViperTyrant himself, and he also had a large collection of pet snakes, each with their own name, he was odd, but was also quite famous for the use of his animus powers. But Levithan began to realize Silica actually seemed to be...connected to the snakes, she actually talked to them, asked them to do small things and they actually listened, Silica acted like each of them had their own personality and life, especially the one her father called Desire.
Levithan isn't sure where Silica's sudden obsession with gaining power and controlling others came from, yesterday, the sandwing had been scheming to try taking dragons hostage and forcing them to be her ticket to the top of society, and if dragons didn't obey, or tried talking to authorities about it, she'd have all the witnesses killed with her snakes, Silica was convinced they'd obey. It was scary to hear, so Levithan had tried talking Silica out of it, but her partner only tried dragging her into the plan too, claiming they'd have a great future and a great time on the way to said future. Levithan was not happy about this, her tone had apparently become a bit too much for Silica to stay happy with, and she had gone into a furious rant about how it was a genius plan, and that there was something wrong with Levithan if she didn't like it, and that this plan was going to happen the way Silica wanted, no matter if Levithan liked it or not.
Silica growled, her claws digging into Levithan forearms, her purple scales starting to look redder with blood. Out of the corner of her eye, Levithan noticed something move in the sand. Silica suddenly shouted, "BITE HER, DESIRE, I DO NOT CARE WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU DO, JUST BITE HER!". A snake as long as a dragon's leg dashed out of the sand. The sun, just barely peeking out from the clouds, reflected upon the snake's teal scales and sharp white fangs, that milliseconds later pierced seawing flesh. Levithan's eyes widened with shock and fear, she hadn't realized Silica would even think of doing something like this, sending her most dangerous and beloved snake, Desire, to bite her. Levithan toppled back, trying to fling the snake from her arm. She was already writhing on the ground when Desire slithered off her arm and into Silica's commanding grasp. The world was fading, sight darkening, sound quieting, and hope being lost forever as Levithan lay in pain on the ground. Silica stood over the seawing, watching Desire slither from her talon to around her neck with a rather smug looking expression for a snake, and just as the last of Levithan's consciousness faded away, Silica looked at Levithan with a distant look of guilt.
