Here is my second story but the first in the timeline of my shifter/werewolf AU. Where Ziva is a born wolf shifter. I hope you all enjoy. If there are episodes or moments you'd like to read in this universe please leave a review and tell me. And I'll see what I can do. After this I've got two one shots planned/typed up. One the aftermath of kill Ari with Ziva back in Israel and one with Boxed In .
Also just pretend that the discussion between Ziva and Eli is in Hebrew. Lines are to signaling new scenes.

Ziva hated flying, hated being confined for the 13 hour flight it took her to get from Israel to the United States. Flying in the cargo planes she was used to wasn't so bad most of the time, though the flights were usually shorter. She had more space to move around, less smells all around, over all she felt less trapped. The commercial flight she had just taken had grated on her nerves. All the smells of the people around her overwhelmed her nose while at the same time the air-conditioning in the plane dulled it. Being on unfamiliar territory in the airport also did not help. Ziva's extra senses were tingling and her wolf was restless. She wanted to stretch, to run but most of all to get out of the crowd.

As fast as was possible Ziva made her way to the exit. Glad she only brought a carry on with her and no checked baggage. When she finally made her way out and she was able to breathe the relatively fresh air outside she was able to relax. Not that it would have been visible for anyone who looked at her to tell she was on edge. It was only a little bit, just enough not to feel as if her shoulders were up to her neck but it had to be enough for now. While looking around where to go to get to the rental car Deputy Director David had procured for her she noticed the glances. People all around her almost forced to look her way and then just as quickly lower their gaze. For a moment she closed her eyes and breathed in deep through her mouth, out through her nose. This was not the first time it had happened. When she was stressed sometimes her sister wolf came just a bit too close to the surface. She had been sending out her alpha vibes, warning people away, daring them to confront her.

A thing every wolf shifter learned was how to control his or her naturally occurring dominance. It would serve no purpose to have the humans all around them being in constant states of alertness around them. The same applied while gathered in the pack. Aside from the occasional fights or squabbles or actual challenges there was no need to constantly throw around the level of dominance you had. Everyone would be uncomfortable if that was the case. No, it was just nature's way of protecting them. So that they were able to find the place where they belonged in the pack. Though it did come in handy when dealing with humans, Ziva mussed.

Finally she found what she was looking for. Walking to the rental car place she forced her mind to the task at hand. Get to the NCIS head office as soon as possible. To stop Agent Gibbs from going after Ari.

Out of the elevator she looked around. From all her research for Ari and the helpful agent downstairs who gave her a visitors badge she knew where agent Gibbs' desk was. When she was close she could hear the only agent who was actually behind his desk talk. It sounded like he was having a lot of…fun.

The first time her eyes fell on him and she was able to breathe in his scent it happened. Her wolf perked up inside of her head where she had been calmly waiting before. She like what she smelled. Strong, Male, comfort, peace, home, mine.

Oh no, this could not be happening. Her wolf could not try to tell her what Ziva thought she was. However the way she seemed to be pushing up against Ziva's control right now there was no way denying it. Her wolf had decided at that moment. She wanted this human as her mate. From all her research done for Ari she knew his name was Anthony DiNozzo. And sure, they had never given off any clues that they were waiting for their perfect match but he was it. Could Ziva not understand she knew best when it came to these matters. Right before her was the one she was hoping to find one day. At least she thought he was. There was however something off. Where she felt what Ziva could not, that this man might actually be their mate something was not right. She always thought that when they would meet their mate it would be an instant connection. That something would click and she could feel his wolf close to her just like with a pack link. He would fit seamlessly into her life, her soul. He would be her other half. The wolf delighted when he must have finally caught her smell and noticed her.

Ziva wanting to understand why her wolf had suddenly gone crazy spouting all of this nonsense into her head went ahead. Pushed her back and started to explore this agent DiNozzo now for the first time in the flesh. She could feel her wolf getting almost giddy when Anthony played and flirted along with her. Occasionally Ziva had to turn around to make sure she did not show wolf in the government building. After which she continued with the playful banter they seemed to have fallen into easily. As if they had been doing it for years. That was enough conformation her wolf needed at that time. She did not think Ziva was acting fast enough so she fought Ziva for control. She had to show that this was the one, no mistake possible. Clawing her way to the front of their mind. She sauntered over to the closest desk, plopped herself down on it, released her hair from the hair band and tie she was wearing to send out her scent stronger to him, and waited. Continue to bait him, to test him.

When he actually got up to go to her she thought, see Ziva this is what I was telling you. He is it. I was right. He did not react however as she thought he would. The mood seemed to shift as he spoke to her again. Asking why she was here. At that moment Ziva realised.

He was not like her. Anthony DiNozzo was human, not shifter or wolf kind. Of course he was not. The files she made about each and every one of Gibbs' team she made for Ari had not indicated anything of the supernatural sort. Then how…how could she feel that this man was her other half. With how powerful an alpha she was she had always believed her mate would be the same. This man however had no clue what it meant to be an alpha. Did not know even the slightest thing about her world. He of course should not, there would be an even bigger problem if it turned out a random human male knew about shifters. The shock of it all was enough for Ziva to regain control back from her wolf. She fought through the slight panic her wolf had felt at that realisation. She kept trying to get back in control, for she thought surely Ziva was wrong.

"Miss David, you can sit there and slouch provocatively for an hour if you'd like. Or you can tell me what you need… and maybe I can help"

Standing up and walking back in front of his desk she answered "you can't help because I am here to stop special agent Gibbs from killing a Mossad officer"

"Ari Haswari?"

"Yes"

When he motioned her closer she did so gladly with the corners of her lips turned up.

"I'd wish you luck. But I want the bastard dead too"

That was enough to make her pull back, all she had been feeling during their conversation before seemed to freeze. Someone who was meant to be her other half would not want to have someone she loved dead. Her wolf, while still confused about what she was feeling, agreed with her. Ari came first. It was so that she parked everything she could have possible felt for Anthony DiNozzo in the farthest corner of her mind to deal with later. focus back on the mission. Stop agent Gibbs from going after Ari.

Jenny had barely introduced her to agent Gibbs when her satellite phone rang and she excused herself as quickly as she could to answer it. Their conversation was mostly focussed on what Ari had asked her to do. Saying she did not think she could change agent Gibbs's mind. Gibbs might not be a shifter of any kind but he did portray a very strong characteristic when it came to Ari. He was not just looking for Ari, he was hunting him. Like a wolf when their mind became fixed on the prey they had been stalking. Just like a wolf considered an intruder into the pack as enemy, so did Gibbs think of Ari. Ziva could only explain to herself in terms of shifters what Gibbs was like. He considered this team his pack, this city his territory. He believed Ari had encroached on his land making this city maybe even the whole of the united states his hunting ground. Once Ziva did not know she could help Ari escape from.

When Ari turned down her request to meet she felt a slight stab. No matter what happened before if he could Ari had always made time to see her. Even if it was only for a handful of minutes. Now with the confusing situation her wolf had gotten her in she longed to have a face to face conversation with her brother. She needed his guidance. Professing to Ari she did not want to lose him actually took a great deal of swallowing pride from Ziva. Always having prided herself on not needing anyone to take care of her. Now effectively saying she didn't want to live in a world where Ari was gone.
"you won't. Goodbye" Ari told her in a monotone voice, it did not quite sound like her brother. Must be due to the situation Ziva thought as she closed the phone and put it back in her pocket.

A day later as she was waiting at one of the agents desk she tried her best to be the cold focussed Mossad officer she knew she was. Tony had made his stance clear to her last night. Still how her wolf could be confused she did not know. Slightly irritated as Tony's constant talk about everything and her wolf wanting her to look at him, too participate with the flirting she had done the day and night before, she answered him. Asking where agent Gibbs was. When Jenny informed her that her father wanted to talk to her up in MTAC she could not get out of the seat she occupied fast enough. Only giving Tony a short clipped answer trying to distance herself from him.

That was how she waited in MTAC for the call to connect.

"Shalom Director David" she spoke. No one had to know that he was her father.

"Officer David." Eli said in greeting. For a moment he studied Ziva's face. Something was going on. Other than the whole ordeal with his son. For the moment he pushed the thought to the back of his mind. "What is the status?"

Ziva went in her work mode and relayed all the information she had gathered so far to the director. Leaving out however that she had spoken to Ari. She had after all promised him she would not share that information with Eli. Ari not trusting him not to use it to better the relationship with the American agency. When she was done Eli nodded at her. The only recognition she would get for a job well done. After discussing more of his plan and orders to Ziva he grew silent again. Ziva was prepared for the feed to cut out without a goodbye. Not an unusual thing when it came to him.

For a moment he looked up at her, a moment so short she almost missed it, not her director, not her pack alpha, but her father's wolf woven into the being of her father. "Are you alright? Did something happen?"

This was an Eli she rarely saw anymore. He was always in the role of the deputy director of Mossad, whenever she saw him out of that function he was still her pack Alpha. An immense and heavy task to carry out. Especially for as long as he had been carrying it out. There rarely ever was time for them to be just father and daughter. It came as such a shock she almost spilled it all. Not the situation with Ari but what had happened between her, her wolf and Anthony DiNozzo. How her wolf thought she had found her mate in him, even though he was human. How confused she was because this could simply not be true. How scared she was this meant something was wrong with her, a wolf wanting to choose a human as its rightful mate was unheard of. Ever so slightly she shook her head. She could not burden her father with all of this. It probably had meant nothing. Her wolf was just confused and tired from all the stress she had been under, nothing more. Her wolf made it clear that that was not how she thought about it, for she was sure, it was not a mistake. She would not make a mistake, certainly not about this. Ziva still answered him "no, father, nothing has happened. Everything is alright, it has just been a long day."

With her words he let it go, bid her a goodbye and cut the feed. Leaving Ziva in a darkened room alone on the other end of the world.

Gibbs had asked her to back him up if he was right. To be there to capture Ari with him. Who was she kidding. If she was wrong and Gibbs right about Ari she would have no choice but to aid in his termination. Her father had all but confirmed that when they spoke in MTAC. Still when Gibbs had send the Abigail, Jenny and Tony away Ziva did not want to believe him. She told him as much. Every fibre of her being begging it to not be true.

If it was within her power she would make sure her brother was not killed that night. She would get him out, smuggle him out of the country. Try and make him disappear. He might no longer be part of her pack but he was still her brother. She understood why he left those years ago. His mother had been killed. Being confronted with his human side had changed Ari. How much it had changed him was yet to be seen. When she had told him Gibbs put out a plan she was sure he understood. Trap, don't go, he wants you to look for him in his home. When she came closer to the house to her sadness she picked up his scent. Ari had gone to Gibbs' house. The scent, something was off. As if something foul, something not right had tried to enter. For now she pushed it to the back of her mind as she crept into the house. As soon as she entered she heard their voices. Closer and closer did she come. Hearing everything Ari said. About their father killing his mother, about him creating not a mole but a monster. When she was just outside of the doorpost she stopped. Not yet having decided what Ari would do. Was he there to just talk, to vent or to provoke Gibbs. Ari had to know only one of them would come out of this alive. She had never known her brother to be cruel, reckless yes, uncontrolled no. Or had she?

She finally began to think back to the last years they had together. Coupled with what Gibbs, Abby, Tony and even agent McGee had told her. It was then that she began to see a pattern. In the years since his mother died Ari had indeed changed. Finally she could put her finger on what it was. Normally in a shifter the human and animal spirit were interwoven with each other. Lending strength and companionship to one another. Living together in one body, one mind, one soul. Interwoven. Being able to switch and relinquish control. But whether the human or the wolf was in control the other never fully disappeared. Always some part of the other remained. When she thought in that context about Ari she could see that had no longer been the case. It was either him, and more often than not his wolf in full control. Not a trace of the other. Now she focussed on the smell, fearing for what she knew she would find. The off smell, she had not been able to place earlier not became clear. Beneath the smell of Ari, of his wolf there was something festering, something foul, something rotting. Ziva had smelled that same something only once before in her life. A rogue wolf. One no longer in control, one no longer human. Something no wolf could come back from. With her eyes closed burning with tears she knew her brother was gone. She knew what she had to do. Kill Ari.
