It was late at night as General Jack O'Neill entered his townhouse. He was sure his wife would be asleep by now. Angry, because he just missed another dinner with her and their friends, who came to visit them all the way from Colorado Springs, but asleep.

What was he supposed to do when the president himself requested his presence? The problem wasn't even stargate related.

He sighed as he loosened his tie.

Placing his jacket on one of the dining room chairs he made his way towards the kitchen.

It smelled fantastic, but it smelled of cookies. He was in trouble.

She must have made them as their friends have left for the night.

Even though he had known Samantha Carter, now O'Neill, for a long time, there were secrets about his wife he only discovered while living with her.

And that was that she baked when she was angry. She baked cakes, muffins, even bread, but cockies...damn he knew he was in trouble.

It wasn't even his fault. He would have preferred to be here with his friends instead of cornered in the oval office with a handful Generals, a few Colonel and the President.

They had planned this dinner a long time ago so that all of them were able to make it here. Daniel with Vala, Teal'c and even Cam managed to come. They wanted to celebrate Daniel and Valas engagement, but with Sam seven months pregnant she wasn't fond of flying out to the springs. So all their friends took a trip out to Washington D.C.

Everyone was there, everyone but him. He was angry with himself. Not only because he had let down Sam again, but because it was a big day for Daniel. He was finally happy again after losing Sha're and wanted to celebrate this with his family. The archeologist was like a brother to him and he knew he would have to make it up to him, hell he wanted to.

He took off his tie and placed it onto his jacket.

She was angry anyway, what would it hurt to eat one cookie? They smelled like heaven, exactly the amount of comfort he needed right now.

He reached his hand out to the baking tray full of cookies as he heard:

"I wouldn't do that if I were you."

"Sam!" he shouted, startled.

"Hands off the cookies, Mister!"

He hung his head and sat down on the nearby chair, lost for words. He knew it didn't matter what he was going to say, she wouldn't want to hear his excuses. They were always the same, classified, the president...she knew them all.

She walked towards him and came to stop right in front of him. Her belly at his eye level.

He let his forehead rest against her belly as he slowly began to stroke it with both of his hands. Needing contact so desperately. The contact with her and his unborn child.

She put her hands on his shoulders, gently massaging them she recognized how tense he was.

He placed a soft kiss just below her belly button and looked up to her.

"I'm so sorry I missed it. You know I would have been here if it had been possible."

"I know, and that's why we have our friend over tomorrow afternoon for a BBQ."

Surprised, he frowned.

"Jack we knew there was a possibility of someone not being able to attend the dinner so a few weeks ago we purposely agreed on a second meeting while they were here."

"So you're not angry?" he asked carefully.

"Only a little." Sam smiled.

"But the cookies..."

"Yeah, as I said a little angry. But most of all your daughter here was yearning for cookies and made me want them too."

A laugh escaped him as he stood up to give his wife a kiss.

"Come to bed, Jack." she said while she left for the bedroom. "and don't forget to bring the cookies."

Even though it was late Sam sat against the backrest nibbling a cookie while watching Jack undress himself.

It didn't take long for him to place himself next to her and reach out for a cookie.

"They are great, honey."

"Yes, I have to admit it has its good sides sitting in bed with your husband in the middle of the night and eating sweets."

"Yeah?" he asked, stroking her belly with his free hand.

"Oh yeah!"

As she took the last bite of her cookie, pieces of it crumbled down onto her breast.

Jack instantly reacted, placed himself in front of her and took the crumb with his mouth.

Sam couldn't hide the moan as his mouth reached her sensitive breast.

They made love the whole night through.

And as General Jack O'Neill sat down for lunch the next day at work and opened his lunch box he had to laugh out loud.

It was fully filled with cookies which made him remember how much he loves his wife.

There was a little note on top.

/ Don't be late today, otherwise you'll have to wait a long time for the next cookies, mister! /
