Let's hope this story works out and...I don't get a lot of flames. Another story to peak your interest...and to briefly keep your mind off the events going in the world.

Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to either of these franchises and/or series for this story to be made possible.

WARNING...If you know how cryptic and bloody the elements of Devil May Cry can get, then this isn't the story for you...despite The Owl House being aimed at kids. So, fair warning.

...PROLOGUE...

"Have you heard of it? The Legend of Sparda? Because I haven't. Maybe its due to the fact I'm not from THIS world. Well, I'm here now and my mentor, Eda, who happens to be a witch...an infamous witch...and who happens to be "training" me to be her "pupil. Yeah, she's heard of them."

"She told me all about the story when I kept annoying her about it one day when it accidentally let it slip out of her mouth."

"The way she told the story to me (with King backing her up) that long ago, in ancient times, a demon rebelled against his own kind for the sake of the human race.

"And with his sword, he shut a portal to the demon realm (well, the more deeper and forbidden sections of the Boiling Isles) and sealed an evil entity off from our human world. What kind of evil entity was it, she never said.

"But since he was a demon himself, his power was also trapped on the other side. His power? Trapped here? In the demon world? That's bogus.

"I never believed it. I thought it was just a child's fairy tale. Then again, here I am in another dimension away from my neck of the woods.

"But Eda remained firm, saying that Sparda DID exist..."

"How did she know? Well...she met the sons of Sparda - Both of them."

"Though the same blood of their father flow through their veins, the two battled each other fiercely like arch enemies...and Eda tried to play peacemaker BEFORE it got REALLY out of hand."

"It seemed as if they had some drive and twisted pleasure from this brotherly fighting.

"But in the end...neither was left standing...and the legend of Sparda...as well as his sons...faded slowly through memory."

"And eventually, legends and myths were created surrounding their legendary confrontation for rest of time...or so I was told..."

...Right Now...

"You know, life can take you in many different directions with different opportunities along each way, yet, I never thought my origin story to become a powerful witch would be my ending. Yet, it would be the beginning of becoming something else...," the narrator commented mentally.

"Dark. All I see is dark," the narrator comment in her head as she looked all around and saw only the darkness of space.

"It feels like the end of the world. I think it probably is...but I can't remember what happened before now. Wait. I see a light in the distance...," the narrator continued as she stuck her arm out as she drifted closer to the light until everything started to blur...

"...uz?! LUZ! Can you...ear me," a distorted voice said in distress.

The narrator, now named Luz, mentally calmed herself and started assessing the situation. Someone was calling out to her, but due to Luz's hearing and sight being temporarily impaired, the voice came out incomplete and inaudible to recognize along with everything being a blur.

As she pushed the thought of Sparda to the back of her mind for later as she was brought out of her 'happy place' and back into the present situation she was in. Everything was a blur...or was everything blurry. Luz could make out a lot of people...surrounding her.

All Luz could do was stare up at the sky. The black sky. She was staring at the black abyss of swirling red clouds that covered everyone and everything in the area with rain pouring down on everyone like a cryptic movie scene.

Luz began to stir, but only so slowly as her vision was disoriented and her hearing slightly impaired and echoing all over the place.

"Luz. Luz! Can you hear me, Luz," the same voice from before shouted, sounding much louder and clearer to listen to. The voice originated adjacent from Luz's head. It was a obviously a person and the person came up to Luz's prone body and obscures the cloud formation and covers Luz's field of vision.

At first, Luz couldn't tell who it was until a bolt of lightning flashes across the sky and lights up the area, revealing a teenage girl.

She has pale skin, two-toned, chin-length aquamarine hair that is brown at the roots and has a ponytail pulling the front hair out of her face, and her eyes are golden colored. Like most witches on the Boiling Isles, she has pointy ears. When attending school, Amity wears a gray tunic with a dark gray belt, cowl, and boots. As part of the Abomination track, her sleeves and leggings are a greyish-pink colour. The rest of her attire includes wearing triangle-shaped black earrings and black nail polish. She wears dark grey, heeled boots, with a light grey top.

This was Amity Blight...and one of the many witnesses to Luz's predicament.

"Luz...," she says in a whispered tone of despair as she saw Luz's body laid out in front of her. Amity's legs gave out as she went to both of her knees in shock.

"IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME," Amity admitted into the sky with tears coming from her eyes, matching the rainfall as she started balling her eyes out.

The next thing Luz tried to do was she flexed her hand, and she successfully could make a fist. But when she tried to stand up, she felt a weighted force on top of her. She could not pull her self up as if she was pinned down by something heavy and...sharp. Luce adjusted her head slightly to look at the weight on top of her abdomen. Luz could only see a tall, darken object on top of her chest. That is until another flash of lightning lights up the area and Luz sees the object in full illumination.

She saw a giant sword sticking out of her chest.

Luz could only stare at the weapon in shock as she put 2 and 2 together and concluded that...

"...I-I've...been...stabbed," Luz said in her whispered hoarse breath as she was able to regain control of her breathing and voice. Luz's verbal observation alerted Amity out of her emotional shock.

"Guys! She awake...and she's speaking," Amity said over her shoulder with a bittersweet smile as she grabbed Luz's head, so she can feel more relaxed around friendly, familiar faces.

"It *cough* could've been you, *cough* but I didn't want to see my friends get *cough* hurt," Luz tries to say with a sad smile as blood started leaking from her mouth as she spoke with her face starting to go pale. Her vision was blurring again and she was feeling light-headed...

"Is this what bleeding to death feels like," Luz asked rhetorically as everyone around her stood around in silence, not wanting to answer.

"Luz. Don't think like that. We're gonna patch you up and everything will be just fine," Amity said with a weak, supporting smile, trying to give Luz hope as she grabs Luz's outstretched right hand with a squeeze, but the human could see through the Abomination-class witch as if she was a mirror.

"It's...okay. *cough cough* Everything...will be...alright...," Luz says with a smile and a tear drop from her left eye as her right hand starts to go numb and she can't form the fist nor squeeze Amity's hand anymore. The only thing Luz could do was close her eyes for a split-second as some of the blood from her injury started seeping up her throat like a garden hose, forcing her to cough up a few liquid drops of red velvet blood as her eyes started to get bloodshot. Her eyes started to roll and point up towards the sky as she laid her head back on the ground, showing faint signs of twitching.

"LUZ! LUZ! Don't fall asleep! LUZ," Amity shouts as she kept shaking Luz's head and shoulders as more blood came out of Luz's mouth as her head rolled to side, making her fear the worst as she looked at everyone with a scared look on her face.

"That's Luz for ya. She would give up her life to see everyone else live," Eda comments with a dreadful sigh, not wanting to look at the apparent fate that's happening to her student.

"I read in books of human lore that this is what a 'superhero' would do," Gus commented about Luz's mindset about putting others and their needs before herself.

"But Luz isn't a 'superhero.' She's a human. And she's dying right here in front us," Willow added as she too tried helping Amity wake up Luz long enough so she can get some medical treatment.

"Can't YOU heal her," Amity says frantically to the owl lady, who could only close her eyes, shake her head and look away in despair, shocking everyone around her.

"There isn't a spell that I have that won't make her worst off than what she is," Eda comments in defeat as she too was starting to cry.

"HOW DID IT COME TO THIS," King shouted to the sky as he too went over to Luz's 'lifeless' form and nudge her awake unsuccessfully. "Please, Luz! Don't go!"

Nobody knew it immediately, but King was speaking for everyone when he said that sentence. Nobody wanted Luz to leave the gang and not like this.

"How did all of this happen? Now that I think about it, how did I get here. Dying in front of my friends," she asked herself as the memories started coming back to her.

"Huh. I guess what they say is true. Your life really does flash before your eyes before you die...," Luz commented as she started to see a bright light...

Now, I know what you guys are thinking...as well as what King might say in this instance. DON'T GO INTO THE LIGHT, LUZ!

But yeah, this story is going to get dark. I don't have any major characters deaths planned because the story would feel incomplete if someone important died early in story, so relax.
