CHAPTER START!
Wind howling.
"Haa…"
Snow flying.
"Haa…"
Trees rushing by.
"Haa…"
The forest remained undisturbed in the moon's pale light.
"HAA~... HAA~!"
Suddenly, the moon turned red as it bathed the forest in its cruel light, the snow turning the color of blood as it continued to fly due to the rough, howling winds as a person rushed through the woods.
Looking at the person, it was a blonde teen with unruly blonde hair. They were wearing a white t-shirt, black pants, and nothing else. The shirt and pants had rips and tears throughout them, almost as if claws had slashed at the boy as seen by the bits of blood staining the areas that were cut open.
Running through the woods, the boy stopped for a second as he leaned against a tree, trying to catch his breath as he looked back where he came from, his blue eyes glowing in the dark, red light, both full of fear and panic as he looked swiftly in different directions, as if looking for something.
"Haa… haa~…," The young man wheezed, trying his hardest to catch his breath as he rested his back against the tree.
"AAWOOOOOOOOOO!"
Suddenly, a loud howl sounded out through the air as the boy's breath hitched and he looked back to see a red glow beginning to appear from where he'd come from. Seeing this, the boy forced himself up as he began to run again, not bothering to wait as the glow swiftly passed by the tree he'd been leaning against, claw marks tearing through where he'd been standing as it chased after him.
Soon, he arrived in a wide open clearing as he stopped, not wanting to cross.
"AWOOOO!"
However, hearing the howl getting closer, he quickly looked back before looking forward again as he made the decision to run, willing to risk being caught in the open if it meant getting away. However, as he made it to the center of the clearing, a dense fog suddenly rolled in, causing him to stop as he looked and found himself surrounded by the swirling fog, preventing him from leaving unless he wanted to get lost in it.
Suddenly, he heard growling as he saw the fog begin to glow a deep red, making him realize that the thing chasing him had caught up and was somewhere in the fog.
"Haa… haa…," He could do nothing but slowly look around, too tired to move as he tried to catch a glimpse of the thing chasing him. However, it was too late as the second he turned his head away from the direction he'd been looking, it jumped towards him, with him quickly catching a glimpse before darkness took him. However, at the last moment, he caught a glimpse of something as he thought he saw markings that looked almost like…
"AHHHH!"
A scream rang throughout the room as the same pair of blue eyes shot open, the young man they belonged to shooting up as well as, drenched in a cold sweat as he experienced the familiar nightmare. His heart pounding in his chest as he panted, trying to catch his breath in order to slow his heart back down.
Looking around, the boy recognized where he was as he slowly caught his breath before lying back down as he stared at the ceiling and muttered, "That dream again…"
As he stared at the ceiling, he couldn't help but think about just what it was that would attack him every time he had that dream. Why was it after him? Why was he afraid of it? And why did he feel something familiar whenever he woke up, as if he knew what it was but just couldn't recall?
As much as he tried to rack his brain for answers, he couldn't find any.
Growl~
"…Sigh…" The young man sighed, wishing he hadn't woken up, "Well, I might as well," He then glanced at the clock on his bedside table and saw that it was still an hour before he had to leave and groaned as he lied back down and stared at the ceiling while muttering, "Just lie here and wait."
Growl…
He couldn't help but groan as he held his stomach with a hand, as he knew he'd regret it if he tried to eat something. While waiting for time to pass, he simply spent time letting thoughts run through his mind as he had many things he needed to think on. Eventually, he got up, took a shower, and left for school, knowing that because of his weak body, it'd take him much longer to get to school than most people.
~A Little Later~
"Damn it," The blonde said as he leaned against the school gates, panting hard as he tried to catch his breath from the walk to school. It's not that the walk was far, or that he was out-of-shape, it's just that because his body is so weak, that the short walk from his apartment to school drained him so much, "This gets harder every day."
Looking around, he noticed his fellow classmates giving small smiles filled with sadness, as they knew that he struggled to do a lot because of how weak his body was. It wasn't that he didn't take care of himself, but for some reason, unless he was practically starving himself, his body couldn't eat or digest anything without him getting severely sick. As a result, his once very fit and healthy body had begun to suffer from extreme cachexia, or in layman's terms, he was quickly losing weight and his muscles were shrinking by a large margin. Because of this, while he still retained his abs and a good muscular structure, it had lessened so much he now looked like a very fit stick figure.
"Why is this happening to me?" He groaned in disappointment. His name is Naruto Uzumaki and while he was an orphan, he didn't have to worry about struggling to live thanks to having a rather wealthy inheritance. Unfortunately, due to whatever illness was plaguing him, it made living alone much harder than normal.
As he caught his breath, he saw a girl and…was she using a VR headset while walking to school?
Naruto watched with surprise as the girl somehow managed to avoid other students who were walking by, who had club supplies, and turn and weave through the crowd, and even jump over a small gap that would have caused her to fall over.
Just as he thought about how incredible she was…
Bonk!
"Owww!"
She slammed into the wall of the school.
Naruto winced when he saw that before he moved over to help her up as she picked up her controllers and took off her headset as he said, "Hey, are you okay? You were doing so well until you got to the wall."
Turning towards Naruto, he got a good look at her ruby red eyes that shined while her pale blue hair was tied in a high ponytail, "Thanks for the help and yeah, I'm fine. I always forget about walls whenever I'm walking," she said as she rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment while cutely sticking out her tongue.
"You should really be more careful where you're going," Naruto advised, "And you probably shouldn't walk around with a VR headset on, as you could get hit by a car."
"Yeah, I get that a lot…" The girl said as she looked at her headset, "But it's the newest game andI don't get a lot of time to play. Walking here is the only time I really have free time so I figured, I'll just play during my walk."
Naruto sighed as he said, "Well, just try and stay safe, okay?"
The girl nodded as she said, "I got it, I'll be safer from now on."
"Good, now, if you don't mind, who are you?" Naruto asked, "As I've never seen you before, you must be a new student.
"Hehe… I'm-"
Ding-Dong!
The two paled as the first warning bell went off, "I'll see you later, Naruto-kun!" The girl said before rushing ahead, "Crap! Please don't let them take my games away!"
"Huh?!" The blonde cried out in shock. "Wait, how do you know my name?!" He called out to the girl.
However, it was too late as she'd already disappeared into the building, so he put aside for the moment before he also rushed inside, as much as he could, before making it to class. Despite how tired he felt from pushing himself, Naruto kept his spirits up as he went through class and focused on the lessons. Soon though, his mood dampened as lunch came around and his classmates all began talking to each other or leaving in groups to go enjoy lunch.
Some of the male students smiled and laughed as they were about to leave the class, "Hey Uzumaki-san, we're getting bread, any for you? We're buying!" One of the boys asked but Naruto just shook his head, refusing their offer as they shrugged before leaving, though some of them looked back in worry.
Naruto sighed as he felt his stomach rumble, his hunger being almost overwhelming but he couldn't bring himself to eat, knowing it wouldn't end well.
'I really wish I could eat normally…' Naruto thought to himself with lament.
"Excuse me?" Hearing a voice speak up, Naruto and the remaining students turned to see a buxom, red-haired beauty standing in the doorway. She was a beautiful young woman with smooth, fair skin, blue-green eyes and a full, curvy figure. However, her most distinctive feature was her long, beautiful, crimson hair that reached down to her thighs with a single hair strand sticking out from the top. Her hair also has loose bangs covering her forehead and side bangs framing her face. To finish, she wore the school's uniform for girls as she held a big bento box and asked, "Is Naruto here?" while looking around.
Her name was Rias Gremory, the number one beauty in Kuoh Academy, one of Kuoh's Great Ladies, and a friend of his for the last few years. He watched as Rias looked for another second before she finally laid eyes upon him as she smiled brightly and walked up to his desk, "I made extra, do you… want to eat together?" She asked with a small smile that made it cuter as her cheeks dusted red.
Naruto nodded, a tiny blush dusting his own cheeks as he gave a weak smile and said, "Uh… sure, I'd like that. The usual place?" However, as he stood up, Naruto suddenly felt woozy and lost his balance as he quickly grabbed his desk to steady himself with Rias taking a step towards him with a worried look as he held up his hand and said, "I'm alright, just lost my balance there for a sec."
Knowing he wouldn't accept her help, Rias just nodded her head as she regained her smile and said, "If you're sure, then let's go!"
With that, she looped her arm with his as the two began walking away while everyone, both the boys and girls, looked at Naruto with jealousy. It was a well-known fact that the two had been friends since Middle School, Naruto and Rias having been very close since then, however, that didn't stop people from feeling jealous or wishing they could be in either Naruto or Rias's position.
As Naruto and Rias walked, Rias asked, "So, how are you feeling? Any changes?"
Rias knew about Naruto's situation as she'd been the first to notice when he got sick after eating and had taken him to the hospital herself. Ever since then, doctors and physicians alike would say that he wouldn't live for very long. However, this was when Naruto was in his last year of middle school and he's now in his third year of highschool with it being just over four years since his diagnosis.
"Not really," Naruto said while shaking his head, "I've still been feeling horrible and it's actually been getting harder for me to make the walk to school."
Hearing this, Rias frowned in worry as she asked, "Should we go to the hospital? If your condition has gotten worse, then doctor Shizuka needs to be updated."
Naruto weakly shrugged his shoulders as he said, "That's the thing. I'm always going to get worse, and I don't want to bother doctor Shizuka unless my condition gets increasingly worse or critical."
Rias wanted to say something about Naruto's bad habit of not wanting to bother people, but she simply held it in as they reached the door to the roof. Once there, Rias pulled her arm from Naruto's as she pulled out a key and opened the door as the two walked out and moved towards the bench that the school had installed at one point.
Sitting on the bench, Rias put the bento between them, Rias opened it and Naruto's eyes widened at what he saw. He saw fried rice, classic karaage, sweet and expensive lobster, slices of steak, and the nice sweetness of delicate Hokkaido raised berries.
Naruto could only stare at the food in disbelief and indeed, his mouth did start drooling, "Uh… are you sure I can have all of this?"
Hearing this, Rias reached over and grabbed his hands as she looked him in the eyes and said, "Yes… you need to eat. We've been friends for years and it hurts me to know that just until last year, you were strong and healthy," She then let go of his hands as she held a hand to her chest while pushing her chest out a bit as she proudly said, "So, I've made it my personal mission to find something that you can eat and enjoy."
"Rias…" Naruto whispered, both from the kindness she showed but also the shake he felt for making her do this every day, but then he began to shake his head as he started, "I can't…"
"Please… I care about you too much to watch you starve to death," Rias said as she held a worried look on her face before grabbing one of the bento's containers and handing it to him, "So please… don't worry about anything else. Just eat."
Taking the container, Naruto looked at the food as he took a small piece of lobster and put it in his mouth… before immediately cringing at the taste. He felt his stomach violently telling him to spit it out, screaming at him to throw up what little contents his stomach had.
'Don't… not her food… not hers.' He thought to himself as he forced himself to ignore the instinct to hurl, 'I must… eat this… she did this… for me…!'
As he slowly ate the food, Rias looked worried as he grabbed a slice of steak, "Ah wait it's a bit rare, I forgot to…" her eyes widened as she didn't see a forced gesture from the boy's face. He… was actually eating it. Even Naruto seemed a bit surprised but he slowly enjoyed it.
It was rare, maybe extra considering the juices and blood he was tasting but the young man didn't care but enjoyed the rare moment.
'Almost a year… I could barely hold anything down.' Naruto nearly started to cry from being able to feel normal for the first time since he fell ill. Every bite, despite how long it took, made him appreciate the fact he didn't feel the urge to throw up. "I-I was able to eat it." He said, not realizing that he made the mistake of letting Rias know the other food didn't help.
But to Rias, it was enough that he'd managed to eat something and be completely fine, until she noticed him grabbing a pepper, "A-Ah, wait Naruto, don't-"
CRUNCH!
Too late…
"Spicy…" Naruto muttered. Rias looked stunned as he continued eating the other food with no worry. Soon going back to the lobster, Naruto was able to put it down easier, "Ahhhh…"
'What did I do differently this time?' Rias pondered as the young man seemed satisfied at the empty bento and the three bottles of tea she bought as well. She still had her own, and would give it to him if he wanted it, but she knew he wouldn't let her.
"Are you… feeling better?" Rias asked.
Taking a moment to let his stomach settle, thankful that it was from a satisfying meal for the first time in a year and not from the urge to hurl, Naruto nodded as he said, "Y-Yeah, I think so. Thanks Rias. It was really delicious." However, he suddenly grabbed his stomach as it gurgled, Rias instantly being at his side, before Naruto let out a small burp as he grinned, "Guess I ate too fast," He said with a chuckle as held his stomach while Rias began laughing with him.
"Hehe, maybe you should eat slower next time," Rias laughed out while covering her mouth as she laughed.
"Sorry, I couldn't help it. Your food was just that good," Naruto chuckled sheepishly, the two sitting in a comfortable silence as both were happy that, for the first time in a while, Naruto was able to eat a good meal. As the time for lunch passed, Naruto went first, seeing as he had the energy to move about better, leaving Rias behind as she sat on the bench and thought to herself.
"I have to help him…" She muttered to herself remembering the times he was so much happier before his decline in health.
However, what she didn't realize was that another girl had been watching them from a tree before jumping down with a stick of Pocky in her mouth as she muttered, "I'm hungry…" despite leaving behind a small pile of empty candy bags, boxes of Pocky, and several bottles of tea.
~After School~
After school was finished and everyone had begun heading home, Naruto found himself being forced to the old school building as a short, white-haired girl comically lifted him over her head. Well, supposedly from the rumors around town, she had a habit of doing this to normal people to move them out of her way, but with Naruto, it still hurt his pride a bit.
"You really don't have to do this, Koneko…" Naruto sighed, as she held him in the air as if he were a prize fish, "Really… my pride is slowly vanishing as we speak… oh, wait, it was gone when you did this in front of the girls."
As previously mentioned, the girl carrying him was Koneko, Koneko Toujou, to be precise and she was rather short, shorter than Naruto in fact. She had short, white hair styled in a bob cut with some loose bangs over her forehead and a set of two, long bangs to frame her face, bringing attention to her golden eyes. She wore a set of black cat-shaped hair clips on both sides of her hair while she wears the normal Kuoh Academy girls' school uniform, without the shoulder cape.
"Don't care…" Koneko mumbled and kept on walking, as if it were normal.
"...Ouch…" Naruto comically deadpanned as he felt another blow to his pride. Once they arrived at the old school building, she kicked open the door, Naruto swearing he heard it creak a bit from the force of her kick, before she walked in and placed him down on the couch. Oddly enough, there were a bunch of snacks laid out on the table. There were cookies, candy, mini, chocolate chip muffins, Petit Four cakes, and even a teapot full of sweet tea. Suddenly, Koneko sat on his lap, which she normally did when he came to hang out with her.
Just then, the doors to the club room opened up and more people began walking in.
"Ara, Naruto-kun's here?"
The one who said this is a beautiful, young woman with a voluptuous figure, long, black hair and violet eyes. Her hair was tied in a long ponytail, reaching all the way down to her legs with two strands sticking out from the top and sloping backward, with an orange ribbon keeping it in place and while she wore the standard Kuoh Academy female uniform.
"Hey Akeno," Naruto said, greeting the second of Kuoh's Great Ladies as he chuckled and rubbed the back of his head, "I kinda got carried here by force."
"Oh, Naruto-kun," The other person to walk in was a handsome, young man who had short, blond hair, gray eyes and a mole underneath his left eye. He also wore the Kuoh Academy boys uniform, which consisted of a black blazer with white accents over a white, long-sleeved dress shirt with a black ribbon on the collar, matching black pants, and brown dress shoes.
"Hey Kiba," Naruto said, "How was the day of the most shipped couple of the school?" He joked, getting Akeno to giggle while Kiba just shook his head with a smile.
"Ara, ara. Those rumors are going out of control," Akeno giggled again.
"Yeah, but they make for some great laughs," Naruto smiled as he knew they weren't a couple, just good friends, "So, do you guys know why Rias needs me? Because I have work later and I don't want to be late."
The two looked surprised at that, as they knew that Naruto tended to keep to himself and wasn't known to tell others. Similar to them, Naruto was also known to be quite famous at Kuoh, not just for his struggles in trying to survive his mysterious illness, but also for his known history with Rias. It was actually because of him growing up with a popular girl like Rias that he preferred to not reveal any plans he had.
"Ara, she asked you to come here?" Akeno asked, getting a nod from Naruto before she lightly shook her head as she said, "Sorry, but I don't really know what she could need you for."
"That's okay," Naruto said with a smile as he began stroking Koneko's head with his junior leaning into his hand as she let out a sound of content, "I was just wondering. Do you at least know where she is?"
"I believe she's currently in a meeting with the Student Council President?" Kiba guessed as he looked to Akeno for confirmation.
"She is," Akeno confirmed with a small nod before giving Naruto a small smile as she said, "Though, if you're willing to wait, she should be done in about an hour or so."
Hearing this, Naruto looked at the clock as he frowned and said, "I don't think I'll be able to wait that long, as I'm covering someone else's shift and I have to actually get there in twenty minutes," With that, Naruto gently moved Koneko off his lap, his cute junior not moving for a second before she eventually relented as Naruto then stood up, grabbed his bag, and made his way to the door before turning back and saying, "Tell Rias I'm sorry I couldn't wait, as I had work, but I'll be sure to talk with her tomorrow during lunch."
With that, Naruto left as the others looked at each other and wondered what Rias could have possibly wanted to talk to Naruto about before they went about their business. Waiting for Rias to finish her meeting so that they could talk about recent events and the student she'd been having Koneko follow and observe
~Later~
It was currently the middle of Naruto's shift at the convenience store he worked at and things had been okay for him until his body began giving out on him again. After the lunch Rias had prepared for him, he'd felt better than he normally had in a long time, however, that only lasted so long as he eventually began to feel weak and sick again, reminding him that his illness couldn't be cured that easily. This had made him feel even worse than before because he'd had his hopes up that he was finally getting better, only to get shot down again.
Currently, Naruto was in the middle of ringing up Koneko, who had stopped by after she finished club activities with Rias and the others, however…
"Wow…" Naruto said as he rang up at least four baskets full of snacks that were on clearance and had deals. Meanwhile, his white-haired junior looked so proud of herself as she placed her fists on her hips and pushed out her chest a bit on getting practically everything she bought on sale. With that, she grabbed her several bags of snacks and walked out, ignoring a tall man passing by her as Naruto weakly smiled at the sight of the customer he was accustomed to.
The man walked up to Naruto, who had to look all the way up to meet the man's gaze due to how tall he was, as the man said, "…Orange juice…freshly squeezed," He asked as Naruto pointed to the back where he'd recently restocked the man's favorite drink, "Thanks…" and with that, the man went to the cooler that held his favorite drink as he began grabbing as many as he could, which thanks to his size was nearly all of them, before bringing them to the counter for Naruto to ring up.
Naruto quickly scans one before multiplying them, "Anything else?" He chuckled before the man nodded pointing to the karaage sandwiches on the shelf next to Naruto.
"Two…" he said as Naruto chuckled before passing one to the man who took it and left as he said, "Enjoy…" With that, he was gone as Naruto unwrapped the snack since the man would always order two snacks and leave one for Naruto to eat. The young man sniffed the food before shrugging and…
"Blegh…" he cringed, sad that the food had gone back to tasting horrible. Naruto sighed as he was convinced that it was just a fluke that he could eat the food from earlier and he was now back to only eating when he's starving.
"I don't know how much more I can take…" He said to himself, staring at the sandwich with a forlorn look. No matter how much he tried, he just knew he was going to spend the rest of life like this; he soon saw someone walking towards him. "Nagisa-San," he smiled at the older girl who took his spot, "Have a good night and be careful of strangers," Naruto said as he left while waving his hand.
"I will and you be careful yourself," Nagisa said as she waved back at Naruto as he left.
As he walked, Naruto couldn't help but think about his life and all the tragedy that had been plaguing his life. He'd lost his parents around the time he started middle school, a car crash they'd said. From there, he'd been going through some rather heavy depression but then, he met Rias he'd felt his whole life slowly turn around. He was happy and had a close friend who liked things he did.
All his life, people thought of him as a foreigner or a gangster, if only because of the natural blonde hair that he sported. Rias had felt the same as him, as with her crimson red hair, people would often make fun of her, so she had known how difficult it was to live with people who looked very different from yourself. That's probably why the two of them got along so well. Just the two of them and their unique hair colors against the world of normal people.
However, as the two grew closer as friends, the more he felt people stare at him with looks of jealousy or looks of annoyance. Seeing these looks, Naruto felt he had to change himself because he didn't want to ruin Rias's image. With that, he'd begun training to strengthen his mind and body, and it had worked. However, just as he'd reached the best he'd ever been, which was around the time he'd started high school, his illness had struck and he'd lost all his strength.
Anything from vegetables, bread, sweets, and otherwise, whenever it entered his mouth, he always felt repulsed and would begin violently vomiting. Days spent talking to doctors, therapists, and other specialists with no answers to his condition until they decided to settle on his condition being a result of his parents' death.
While their conclusion might not have been that far-fetched, he'd had plenty of time to pull himself together after their death. Not to mention, it's been thanks to Rias that he's been able to move forward and get over their deaths. Thinking about Rias, Naruto couldn't help the soft smile that appeared on his face as he thought about her.
Rias, ever since he'd met her, had been the best thing and turning point in his life. When he was at his lowest point in life, she was there for him, bringing him out of the hole he'd found himself in. When things seemed tough, she was there with him to share the struggles and make things easier. Even when many people told her to stay away from him or asked why she chose to be friends with him, she never wavered and always said, "Because he's my friend and I care for him."
Every time he thought about that, Naruto's heart would always feel like it was going to beat out of his chest, but at the same time, he'd wish she would see him as more than just a friend. He'd wanted to confess to her when they started high school, but then his illness hit and he felt that confessing to her now would only burden her. If she said, "no," it's look cruel to reject the sick person, but if she said, "yes," it'd more than likely be out of pity and Naruto didn't want that. So, he kept his feelings to himself, not wanting to burden her, even if it caused him more heartache.
"Hey kid…"
Naruto was broken from his thoughts when he heard someone call out to him and turned to see a man wearing a trench coat and a fedora hat on top of his head as Naruto asked, "Are you talking to me?"
The man nodded as he said, "That's right, I got something I wanna ask you."
"I'm sorry," Naruto said as he moved to turn away, "But I've gotta get home so-!"
However, it seemed the man didn't care as he quickly moved towards Naruto and roughly gripped his arm, "You're not going anywhere until you answer my questions!" The man said as he then grabbed Naruto's collar and held him in the air, Naruto struggling to get free as he exclaimed, "Where is that bitch!?"
"I don't know who you're talking about!" Naruto exclaimed, frightened for his life as he continued to struggle against the man's grip.
"Don't lie to me!" The man glared at him as he held Naruto up a bit higher, now making it harder for Naruto to breathe as all of a sudden, black-feathered wings sprung from the man's back, shocking Naruto for a second before he was drawn back as the man said, "I'll ask again, where… is… that bitch?"
"I told you!" Naruto said, struggling to speak due to the lacking amount of air, "I don't know who-!"
"Oh, you know," The man growled, as he threw Naruto to the ground, Naruto coughing as he tried to get his lungs to settle down from the lack of air, before the man suddenly summoned a spear of light in his hand shocking and frightening Naruto as he said, "And you're going to tell me where she is or I'm going to kill you here and now."
Seeing this, Naruto was frightened as he couldn't think of anything to do, not to mention he still had no clue who this guy was talking about. Thinking fast, Naruto did the only thing he could think of, he kicked his leg out, knocking the man over as with THUMP while Naruto scrambled to get up as he began running as quickly as his weak body would allow.
As he was running, Naruto didn't dare look back, not wanting to turn and see the guy chasing after him. However, suddenly, he heard something that sounded like wings flapping and quickly turned and looked up, only to be horrified as he saw the man was FLYING THROUGH THE AIR!
"If you tell me what I want to know, I'll kill you quickly and painlessly!" He heard the man shout from the sky, spear of light in hand as his wings continued to flap while he flew after him, "If I have to catch you, I'll force you to tell me all you know while I make your death as slow and painful as possible!"
Hearing this, Naruto began running even faster, not wanting to die for some crazy bird man who could summon spears of light. Looking back for a second, Naruto saw the man throw said spear at him, getting Naruto's eyes to widen in fear as he rolled out of the way, the spear stabbing into the concrete floor with ease. Quickly getting up, Naruto continued running with the man chasing after him, the spear of light dissipating into little particles.
"Hold still, you brat!" The man shouted.
"Not… happening!" Naruto exclaimed the best he could with what little breath he could catch, 'How can I lose a guy who flies!?' He thought to himself as he looked around for a possible route he could take that would let him lose the guy, or at least break visual contact with him long enough so that he could hide and get away.
"Tch… nimble brat… you're not getting away!" The man said, as he continued producing spears of light and throwing them.
"Gah!" Naruto screamed as he felt a spear graze the side of his right leg, causing him to fall, as he looked to see the man diving straight for him with a spear in hand ready to impale him. Seeing this, Naruto timed it as he quickly rolled out of the way, the man stabbing into the ground. Glaring at the man, Naruto's eyes glowed red before he swung his other leg out, a small red aura surrounding his leg, as he caught the man in the face as he kicked him into some garbage cans. After this, Naruto quickly got to his feet and did his best run, but could only manage a speedy limp as he turned the corner.
"Tch… nice shot, kid…" The man growled as he picked himself up from the pile of garbage and brushed himself off before looking at the bloody footprints that were on the ground as he wore a sinister smirk and said to himself, "But don't think I'll let you get away that easily."
~Meanwhile~
At the same time that Naruto was running for his life, he was unaware of a small pulse of power he'd sent out into the world when he had kicked the man in the face. Now, it wasn't big enough for many people to notice, however, if one were paying attention and looking for it, then they would be more than able to sense this pulse.
As the pulse passed through the city, a pair of violet eyes opened as they looked out to the city with a happy look as the person smiled, "It's time," the person spoke in a feminine tone, revealing they were a woman before she snapped her fingers as several figures appeared around her as she said, "Go, protect our little prince and bring him to me."
With that, the figures around the woman disappeared while she continued to stare out at the city of Kuoh.
~Back With Naruto~
After a while of running, Naruto stopped running as he did his best to catch his breath while he leaned against a tree.
"This… is… crazy!" Naruto exclaimed to himself, panting heavily due to the strain he'd put on his lungs and weakened body from the effort of running away and from the injury on his leg, "People…can't fly! And they definitely can't throw spears of light! What's going on!?"
Then, Naruto winced as he felt his leg twitch in pain as more blood leaked out before he took a look at the wound. It was bleeding badly, almost like the spear hadn't just cut him, but had almost erased the flesh it touched as he looked at the part in his leg that was almost like someone or something had taken a bite out of him. Tearing a piece of his shirt off, Naruto did his best to bandage the wound, not wanting to risk losing more blood and potentially dying from blood loss. However, as he finished that thought, he froze as he slowly looked in the direction he'd come from and noticed the trail of bloody footprints he'd left with despair.
"Found you!"
Hearing that, Naruto quickly looked in the direction and saw the man was already charging towards him through the air with a spear in hand. He knew he wouldn't be able to fully avoid it, but he still did his best as he rolled out of the way however…
"AHHH!"
Despite rolling out of the way, Naruto couldn't fully dodge the spear as it stabbed through his side. Due to the injury, Naruto lost his balance as he was now unable to catch himself and fell to the floor as he clutched his side in an attempt to stem the bleeding.
Sigh~
Hearing the sigh, Naruto opened an eye to look, only to get kicked in the face, sending him across the floor. Naruto couldn't move well due to his body now running out of energy and his injuries adding to the fact but he could hear the crazy, winged man walking closer before stopping as he stood above him, getting Naruto to look up into the man's eyes.
"If only you'd just told me what I wanted to know, I would have killed you quickly," the man said with false despair, as if to mock Naruto and show he wasn't actually sorry for the injuries he'd dealt Naruto, "But now, you've just annoyed me so I believe it's time to end things here."
With that, the man summoned another spear of light and raised his hand in the air, poised to strike Naruto down as he swung down in order to attack. However, before the man could land the attack, he was sent flying away after being hit by a tremendously strong attack to his side.
At this, Naruto looked up, wanting to see what was going on, only to be surprised when he saw two people who he didn't recognize.
Both people were women, very beautiful women, but both also had very different appearances. The first one was a beautiful girl with long white hair that went halfway down her thighs. From what he could see, she wore an ornate white and purple dress with gold accents. The purple seemed to be the main body with it coming down between her legs like a loincloth. The sides, sleeves, and collar were white with a giant white skirt and there was a giant window that showed her impressive bust. She also wore a set of black stockings held by some black garter belts and matching black heels.
The second woman also had long, white hair, however, she kept hers in a high ponytail held by orange rods with her hair fading into aqua green and then blue the closer to the ends it got and gold hoop earrings. Her outfit consisted of a sleeveless, white kimono shirt with diamond designs on both sides of the chest and an indigo, wisp-like pattern on the bottom half. She also wore red hakama pants and sandals with a giant white and purple nio-dasuki tied around her waist.
However, while they were both incredibly beautiful, Naruto's attention was on them for only a second before he noticed the weapons they carried. The first girl carried a giant staff with a thin chain connected to both ends while the main part wrapped around the staff. The second girl held a giant, metal kanabo with a small ring at the end of the handle.
"Geez," He heard the first girl speak, "I knew you were upset after seeing the state he was in, but I didn't think you'd actually knock that fallen through a few trees."
"Hmph!" The second scoffed as she rested her kanabo on her shoulders, "How dare he harm our bocchan! Besides, I still made sure not to swing too hard so the most he should have is whatever scratches and scrapes from hitting the trees and a broken arm, maybe some ribs, from my swing."
Naruto wanted to figure out what was going on but unfortunately, all his attention was going to his currently bleeding wound. However, suddenly, he felt a pair of hands softly touch his face as he was placed on his back while he looked up to see another woman looking directly at him. She held a look of worry as he saw a deep sadness in her lime green eyes. She has pale skin, long black hair, magenta lipstick on her full, supple lips and magenta eyeshadow.
Suddenly, he felt something wrap around his abdomen and leg, right where his wounds were, causing him to look down as he noticed that he was being wrapped by obis. The obis were mostly pink, however, they had black cracked designs all over with sections of orange stripes and what looked like black butterflies.
"Wh-who-?"
Naruto tried to speak, his voice weak due to his lack of energy but the girl gently placed her hand on his mouth as she softly said, "Shh~, don't speak. Just focus on saving your strength, young master."
Suddenly, there was a rustling sound as all four looked in the direction and saw the fedora man walking out of the bushes while holding his left arm, showing that was where he'd gotten hit.
"Who dares-!" The man began exclaiming, furious at getting sucker-punched until he noticed the two standing before him as stepped back in fear while exclaiming, "Why are you here!? There should be nothing for you here!"
The girl with the staff chuckled as she said, "Unfortunately, that is where you'd be wrong as we do have a reason to be here. Her highness has been keeping an eye on this young man from nearby and thanks to you, we finally received the order to move and bring him with us."
At this, the man's eyes widened as he realized the situation he was in and saw that there was no way he could survive if he went head-to-head with the two before him. With that thought, he spread his wings as he lifted himself off the ground and began to fly, thinking that he was fast enough to escape. However, that was only for a second as that one moment of freedom was ripped from him as he felt something grip his throat for a second, a single second. Then the next moment, he's falling as he grips his torn open throat, blood spurting everywhere and spilling on the floor.
Looking up, he stares into the red eyes of the woman in white and purple, blood covering her mouth and dripping down her chin as she seems to be chewing on something before spitting it out onto the floor. The man reached out to her, trying to speak words of revenge, however, it was too late as his arm fell to the ground, the light leaving his eyes as blood pooled around his body, centering from his torn open neck.
Seeing the man was now dead, the woman smirked as she walked over to the others and Naruto and said, "Well, he was far weaker than I was expecting. He didn't taste good either," She then motioned with her hand towards Naruto as she asked, "How's he doing?"
The girl with black hair shook her head as she said, "He's lost a good bit of blood and he has a hole in his side and a good little piece of his right thigh missing. We'll need to take him with us to her highness in order to give him the help he needs."
Both white-haired women nodded their heads in understanding before they suddenly had to dodge a blast of red and black energy that erased a good chunk of the floor they stood on as a shout came, "You're not taking him anywhere!"
Hearing the familiar voice, Naruto weakly turned his head as he saw Rias standing there, balls of red and black energy in her hands as she glared at the women standing around him.
"Who are you and what did you do to Naruto-kun!?" She exclaimed, furious to see him in such a state while some unknown women stood around him.
"We didn't do anything but save him from that fallen over there," The girl in the hakama pants said as she pointed over to the dead body, getting Rias to look over as she began to calm down a little, "And right now, Daki over here is trying to stem the bleeding so that we can take him to get healed."
The now named Daki nodded her head as she said, "I may not be able to heal him with my abilities, but I'm more than capable of bandaging his wounds for a time so that we can move him to a safe place and heal him."
At this, Rias nodded her head, "I understand, thank you for helping him. However, if you're going to be taking him, then I'm coming too."
At this, the two girls holding weapons looked at each other before the one with the staff began shaking her head as she started, "No, unfortunately, you can't-!"
However, she was cut off as Rias exclaimed, "This was done in my territory! A fallen attacked someone living in my territory under my watch and I'm not the one who dealt with them! I will be coming along in order to meet the one in charge and to oversee that nothing happens to Naruto-kun."
At this, the two girls and Daki looked at each other before the one holding the staff let out a sigh of frustration as she said, "Fine! But when we arrive, you will only show respect and courtesy. Anything less and heiress or not, you will face the consequences."
At this, Rias nodded her head before she moved over to Naruto before a light began shining from the floor, getting Naruto to look down as he noticed giant characters on the floor. Suddenly, Naruto felt someone holding his hand and looked to see Rias was holding his hand as she smiled, "It's going to be okay, Naruto… I'm right here," Rias said.
With that being the last thing he heard, Naruto lost consciousness as a blinding light flooded his darkening vision.
~Later~
…
"Ugh," Naruto groaned as he woke up, no longer feeling the intense pain from last night, but still feeling very sore, "Where am I?"
Looking around, he noticed that he was in a room that belonged in classic Japanese houses with tatami mats and shoji doors. The room was also furnished with various cabinets and dressers around the room and even a small desk on one side. After looking around, Naruto looked to see he was currently lying in a futon in the middle of the room with various bandages and medicines next to him, and even a bowl with bloody water and a rag.
Seeing the medical supplies, Naruto quickly looked at himself, surprised to find he was wearing a white yukata with a black edge, and a blue obi with a very basic design. Shaking his head, Naruto returned his focus to looking at his body and found himself bandaged up around his leg and his abdomen with only a feeling of tension remaining, showing that his wounds had been taken care of.
Standing up, Naruto found he could walk easily as he left the room and began exploring the building he found himself in. Going through various rooms, Naruto eventually found himself standing outside where he got a clear view of a cliffside with the ocean at the bottom. This surprised Naruto since he knew that Kuoh was nowhere near the ocean, which only made him more curious as to where he was.
Suddenly, he recalled last night and Rias' words as he ran back inside, and began running through, checking various rooms in order to try and find Rias. He kept looking and looking but was having no luck finding her, which began to worry him.
'Where could she be?' He thought worriedly. He hoped and prayed that nothing bad happened to her.
Eventually, Naruto found himself in front of the door that he instantly knew led to the main room and knew that if Rias was anywhere, she had to be in there. Gathering his resolve, he placed his hands on the paper screen doors. Taking several deep breaths, he pushed them aside to open them wide open. "Rias?" He called out.
However, when he looked inside, he saw that it was actually a giant room, often used to hold gatherings or meetings with there being a large amount of white and purple pillows enclosed by some sheer, purple curtains. Entering the room, Naruto moved forward, looking around to see if there were any other doors he could go through until he saw movement from the corner of his eye.
Looking in the direction, he saw someone moving behind the curtains, holding something in their hand. Seeing them move towards the curtains, Naruto began tensing himself, ready to run if necessary when the curtains opened and his heart skipped a beat at the one standing before him as he felt blood rushing to his face. Standing before him was an incredibly beautiful woman who gave off an air of nobility. She wasn't very tall, seemingly around Koneko's height, however, that only added to her beauty.
She had shoulder-length, violet hair cut in a perfect Hime style that framed her face with a small, golden headpiece that had a hanging blue gem and a pair of horns with red tips that drew attention to her clear, violet eyes with a hint of reddish-magenta eyeshadow, a small, perfect nose and soft lips which needed no lipstick. She wore a giant, purple haori with red markings along the bottom and the cuffs of the sleeves that she left open, showing off her near-naked body that was perfectly smooth, not overly fit or fat, and was the perfect body for a noble woman which made Naruto blush further. However, instead of being naked, she wore these black, tape-like things that covered her womanhood, went up her sides, forming a design, covered her modest bust and continued up to form a choker on her neck. In one hand, she held a slightly flattened, red bowl meant for drinking sake while the other held a tan gourd with a cord tied around the middle part.
He watched as she poured some sake into the bowl to the very top, not spilling a drop before she finally saw him. Naruto saw her give him a loving and mischievous look before she brought the bowl to her soft-looking lips as she began to drink. Naruto noticed several drops of sake dripping down the sides of her mouth, down her chin, which brought Naruto's attention to her throat as it moved in accordance with her swallowing gulp after gulp of sake. He then watched as the drops of sake dripped onto her chest, and would flow down her body until they reached her covered womanhood before he finally tore his gaze away, his face feeling hotter than ever from the blood that was currently racing through his face.
"Ah~!"
Naruto gulped as it felt like his face was burning even more as he heard the woman let out a seductive moan as she finished off the sake. Looking back towards her, Naruto found himself frozen stiff by her gaze which matched that of a woman hungry for debauchery as she stared at Naruto while licking her lips with her small, pink tongue.
Finally, she smiled at Naruto as she tilted her head to the side as she said, "Hello, young prince, and welcome home."
