DAY 1, 1405 HOURS

"Cyber!" Jack cried out, grasping her now limp hand. He could only tell by the pulse at her neck that she was still alive.

Raccoon growled as he took a defensive stance towards some noises in the distance. Jack looked up to see a gang of cackling, dusty Islanders of various species roaring their way through the desert. One of them threw a chain that wrapped around Raccoon's wrist, and the bear responded by yanking the rider off of their bike via a firm tug. Another managed to get Jack by the ankle and began to drag his body through the rough terrain ahead. Jack struggled to gain his bearings as rocks and other objects cut at his body, tearing at his battlesuit and fur. One of the lenses on his goggles shattered as a rock flew directly into it, almost blinding him. He could only spare a moment to watch as Raccoon rampaged through the seemingly never-ending horde of people trying to get at Cyber...But even Raccoon, for all of his strength, was slowing down.

His adrenaline ignited by the sight his loved ones in danger, Jack grabbed the chain around his leg, and, in a seated position, caught one of the rocks that were flying by before chucking it right at the head of the person riding the motorcycle he was attached to, knocking her off of her bike, and stopping the ride right there. Jack ran over to Raccoon as soon as he freed himself, but the barrage of motorcycle riders seemed to stop right in front of them...In patterns Jack recognized from his days in the Resistance.

Slowly, a path formed in the middle for a dingo with dark grey fur, wearing red boots and gloves. Red, painted stripes also covered his body, along with a black facemask around his muzzle. His purple eyes seemed to almost glow in the blazing afternoon sunlight. He approached the front wordlessly, accessing what had been done to his squadron, and the state of Jack and Raccoon. Jack could tell by his gait that he was maybe a little older, but still very strong. He snapped his fingers towards two other, younger dingoes of similar coloration to himself, and they opened two cases of equipment for him. In the hand of one, a Drill Wispon, in the hands of the other, a Drill Wisp with a blank, defeated look in its eyes.

"No way..."

Placing the Wisp into his Wispon, the Alpha Dingo powered on his weapon, and slammed the head into the ground, creating a shockwave that knocked Jack and Raccoon to the ground. Shakily getting up, Jack observed as the Alpha Dingo merely stared at him, daring the wolf to make another move. "Raccoon, he's pretty powerful right now, but if we-"

"No." Raccoon interrupted with a growl. "No? Buddy, what are you-?" Jack started, before Raccoon picked up Cyber's unconscious form and placed her into Jack's arms. "Go. 'Tect. Cy." Raccoon growled out haltedly, as he took up a position facing the Alpha Dingo. "Buddy, no! We-"

"GO!" Raccoon roared as he ran to engage the Alpha Dingo. Jack hesitated for only a moment before obeying Raccoon's command, fleeing into the desert caves.
