DAY 4, 1600 HOURS

Cyber sat back and sighed as Jack put a makeshift washcloth over her head, cooling her down with water from a small river they'd found running deeper in the cave. The previous day had been spent dealing with a sudden fever Cyber had developed. *She'd gotten some weird dreams from it, but she was otherwise fine now. "-How much longer until the Restoration finds us?-" Cyber asked. Jack didn't answer. "-Jack?-"

"...I don't think they're coming, Cyber."

"-What do you mean? I thought you said they had our location from when our signals went down.-"

"That signal could've been disrupted by the same electrical interference that messed up your voice. Scattered. Even if they WERE looking for us, they might not even be sure where to look!" Jack said, exasperated. Cyber raised an eyebrow. "-What do you mean, 'even if they were?' Why would they NOT be looking for us?"

"Why would they even start? The Restoration is a big organization! They don't have time for the little guys like us! Figures they abandon us RIGHT when we need them!"

"-Jack, I think the heat is getting to you. Try to calm down.-"

"CALM DOWN!? When I can't even defend my family!? When...When I leave them to fight the monsters alone?" Jack shouted, as he began to break down, fighting back tears as he sat down on the floor, defeated. "Cyber...I left Raccoon alone out there. I knew he couldn't defeat that dingo, but I left him there to fight anyway. I...I don't even know if he's still alive!"

Cyber lowered her head, desperately wishing she could reach out and put a hand on his shoulder. "-You and I both know that isn't true.-" Jack just sniffed in disbelief. "Oh yeah? And how are you so sure?"

"-Because I know Raccoon, and I know the man who's taken care of him ever since he left the jungle. He volunteered to take one for the team because he knew he was the one best suited to take that hit. YOU taught him that. And he knew YOU were the only one that could rescue him. You taught him that, too. So, you gonna prove him wrong?-"

While she couldn't see Jack's reaction, Cyber could hear him shuffle upwards as he considered her words, and she recognized the sounds of him pacing as a plan formed in his head. Then, the sudden stop as he turned to face her, the smile on his face was evident in his cheery tone.

"Alright then. We wait until nightfall. Then we'll show these jerks what Team Wolf is made of!"
