DAY 4, 2100 hours

After a few minutes of scouting, Jack finally managed to locate the leader's tent, hoping the radio equipment he needed was in there. Looking around, he noticed many keepsakes of the Alpha Dingo's life. A picture, worn and faded, taken back when the two younger dingoes were children. They were clearly on vacation in some exotic location. Perhaps the Yuzu Islands? Other items caught his eye, reports, worn out equipment, trophies from previous heists they'd pulled...Resistance Medals? Notable ones, too. The kind Jack would've given one of his fangs for back in the day...Not that he had been in it for glory or anything.

Pushing that aside, Jack focused his efforts toward the radio in the middle of the room, carefully inputting his old Resistance distress frequencies into it. He just hoped they still worked. "Distress Code Flicky-Niner-Mega-Two, Team Wolf leader, callsign Jack, asking for assistance. Repeat, Team Wolf leader Jack calling for assistance."

No response. He tried again. More of the same. He wondered briefly if perhaps he should change frequencies before the crashing of a Cube Wispon on the radio took up most of his attention. "You should've fled while you had the chance, wolf!" One of the younger dingoes from before said, brandishing his Cube Wispon towards Jack. A blast of air knocked Jack clear off of his feet and across the tent. "I believe Father wouldn't preferred the hammer hit HIM, and not the radio, Xavier." The other younger dingo said, her Hover Wispon aimed at Jack. "Hmm. Perhaps I WAS a bit rash in the moment, Xenia."

"All is forgiven, son. What you did was in service to the Dingo Squad." The Alpha Dingo said as he entered the room. "Leave us for now." The two younger dingoes nodded and left the tent, leaving Jack alone with the Alpha Dingo. "Nice cult you got going here."

"The loyalty of my children stems from respect. Just as I would do anything for them, they would do anything for me." The Alpha Dingo stated, crossing his arms. Jack scoffed. "You learn that in the Resistance? I saw your medals."

"Worthless trinkets from another life. You and I aren't that different, you know. We both fought in that senseless war, lost more than we gained. Led good men to their ends."

Jack only briefly lowered his guard. He needed to stall, keep him talking until he found a window to escape. "So, what happened that lead you to all of THIS?"

The Alpha Dingo sat down on a nearby chair, wearily. "I lost the love of my life. The mother to my children. I saw no other option but to fight back against the one who took her from me. I was given my own squad, the Dingo Brigade. We fought SO valiantly...But within minutes, they all fell before my eyes, wiped out by that monster with the gem on his chest. I alone survived, spared for reasons I do not know."

Jack hung his head, recognizing the tale all too well. "I'm sorry for your loss."

"Not a day goes by where I don't think about them. They were too good for this world." The Alpha Dingo said, grabbing a flask of something from a nearby table and taking a swig. "Anyway, I was afterwards captured and imprisoned onboard the Death Egg. I swore that I wouldn't reveal anything...But they did things to me. Made me say things I never thought I would say, think thoughts I would never have thought before. It taught me something."

Getting up, the Alpha Dingo opened the case on his table, revealing the Drill Wispon inside. He motioned with it as he continued. "It taught me that anything, when pushed to the right limits...Under the right circumstances, will break. And when they do, they'll do anything, turn to any ONE, who can put their pieces back together."

Jack shook his head as he backed up, shocked at what he was hearing. "You're crazy."

"Perhaps." The Alpha Dingo replied, loading a Wisp capsule into his Wispon. "Or maybe we just need to find your breaking point."

In the blink of an eye, the Alpha Dingo lunged at Jack, his Wispon running at full power.
