An: This is a fanfiction I came up with based on the idea that the MC is an alien adopted by the Avengers and she happens to go to Hogwarts. Starts at the end of Harry's fourth year. Tony Stark is her father figure.

The fanfare started up in Harry Potter's ears as he and Cedric and...the tag-along collapsed in the grass in front of the tourney audience. There was cheering and whooping and at first it completely drowned out Harry's screams of anguish. The two bodies with him weren't moving, and as more people noticed this the cheering slowing and additional screaming began.

Harry sobbed, gripping tightly to the two bodies with him. He fought against hands pulling at him, trying to check on the dead teenagers he clung to. "He's back." Harry croaked, eyes locked on Dumbledore through the mist in his vision. "Voldemort's back."

Long after a phone call was made to the Avengers to come pick up their charge, Madame Pomfrey stood alone with her in the infirmary. The castle was quiet, devoid of the sounds of children. Everyone had already gone home, even Amos with his boy's body, and here she was gently sponging purple blood off of this young girl's face. She seemed to have died peacefully, but Pomfrey knew what the killing curse really did to people.

Soon the people who called themselves her family would be here and Dumbledore would have to offer his condolences for the second time this year on the death of a student. She turned around to get a nice sheet to tuck magical around the young witch and when she turned back around, the girl was sitting upright on the hospital bed with wide and haunted eyes. "Madame Pomfrey?" Her voice shook with her body. "Was...was I dead?"

The nurse wanted to scream, wanted to tell for the headmaster. Alien raised by muggles or not...This was impossible. This child had been struck with a killing curse! "Y..yes. You were, child. I'm going to get the headmaster. Please don't move."

Nova Stark stared at herself in the mirror, something she had been spending a lot of time doing since she had come home from school dead. Sort of. That had been three days ago now, and the Avengers were still scrambling to find any others of her race to explain it. Someone with pale gray skin and matted black curls stared back at Nova. She looked tired, given the massive shadows under her eyes, which were yellow and featured deep purple irises. The horns rising out of her hair like a gazelle looked tired even She could almost remember being dead if she tried really hard.

"I wouldn't." Came a quiet voice from behind her. "It might have unpleasant side effects."

She startled a little, swiveling in place to look at the supervillain turned Avenger who stood behind her in the doorway. "Loki."

"Nova." He kept that careful gaze leveled on her. "I am the last one to speak of what isn't healthy...But this isn't healthy. You shouldn't try to see beyond the veil. There is probably a good reason you don't remember."

"What do you know?" The Alternian let herself speak with more venom that she had originally intended.

"A good deal. I've studied mysticism since I was a little boy. And dear, I haven't been a little boy in a long time." Loki reached for Nova and thought better of it. "Please leave it be."

"What are you two talking about?" It was Tony, coming to check on Nova as they had done once every two hours since she got home.

"Nothing, dad." Nova quickly dismissed the topic.

"Your charge is trying to remember what it was like being dead and that's not a good idea, Stark." Loki ratted her out almost simultaneously.

A tick of concern set itself in Tony's jaw. "My supernova girl, is this true?"

Nova shot Loki a dirty look and turned fully to the Avengers she'd imprinted upon. "Maybe. Before you freak out, I haven't felt the same. It's only natural I'd be curious."

He chewed his lip a moment. Her whole life he had been careful to nurture her sense of curiosity, scientific or otherwise. "Supernova girl, the reindeer is right. You shouldn't dwell on death. We're going to figure out what changed. Please, just focus on feeling better."

"Then I can send owls to let my friends know I'm not dead?" She raised an eyebrow at him.

Tony sighed. "You know Fury won't let them go through. And for what it's worth, I understand at least partially where he's coming from. Voldemort doesn't know you're dead and you are a S.H.I.E.L.D agent. He's your job, when it's safe for you to do it. This gives you an unparalleled edge as a spy."

"He'll just find out when I arrive and the Slytherins tell their parents." A gentle cough came from Loki at this and it began to dawn on her way Loki had been paying extra attention to her. "No. No! You wouldn't make me...Dad?"

Tony looked sad when he took on of her hands. "I am so endlessly proud of you for never letting the purebloods make you ashamed to be different. To look different. But you can't return as who you are. You're right about that."

"I like being an Alternian." Nova's voice was small and a little afraid. "I don't want to do this."

Tony squeezed her hands. "It's for your safety, supernova girl." He turned to look at Loki. "You be careful with her. I still don't fully trust you. If anything comes from this..."

Loki waved him off. "It's just a simple enchantment, Stark. She'll be fine."

Nova was shaking her head. "Please-"

The cool minty touch of Loki's magic was already crawling over her and then she was covered. She shut her eyes, unwilling to see the change. She had only just learned to be proud of her differences, to like the way she looked compared to all the teenagers around her. "I did the best I could. I think you'll like it, if you'd look." Loki's voice held an understanding she wasn't sure how to address. Since when did Loki care so much about...anything Avengers related?

She opened her eyes. What stared back was a girl with creamy white skin, light blue eyes and deep, straight black hair. It wasn't Nova. But it was, too. She ran her hands over where her red and orange horns used to be, and felt nothing. "They're still there. You just can't comprehend them."

She turned to Loki, lips trembling. "I feel sick."

"That's normal." He tried to reassure her gently. "It's a big change."

"No...wrong sick." Her knees wobbled and attempted to grasp the edges of her mirror, failing and falling to the floor. Something was building in her like a coiling spring, twisting tighter and tighter. "Accidental magic?" She gripped her stomach and groaned her displeasure. Overhead Jarvis was summoning the Avengers and she heard lots of feet. Were they all here? There were angry tones and Loki defending himself, but Nova couldn't focus on any of it.

She could feel the charge building on her skin. "Go." She tried to say. "Leave." But it was too late. Her eyes came open at the same time a purple blast emanated from her, flattening her team mates into the walls and generally destroying the room. In fact, only the mirror remained among the gently groaning bodies surrounding her. In the mirror stood the girl Loki had made her into, but this girl had wings like a butterfly and wore a dress bearing a strange symbol she knew had to do with whatever magic she'd just unleashed.

"Nova...what did you do?" A hand tugged gently on her and Nova faced Tony once more. Tony Stark was...younger. Her age. But it was him. She looked around, a frantic feeling seizing her. The Avengers were sitting up, all fine except for the fact they now seemed to be teenagers.

Nova swallowed. "I don't know dad. I don't know."

AN: That's right! This fic is de-aged Avengers going to Hogwarts! Oh the ideas I have. The end game romance is Loki, but there will certainly be drama on the way.
