Bruce let out a heavy sigh as they pulled up to the Kent farm.
"Uh, guys. Two very upset boys, headed this way." He pointed out, and both Clark and Eris turned to see where he was looking.
The three got out of the truck, and all hell broke loose.
Clark felt drained. The boys had gone exploring in the barn while he, Eris, and Bruce were at the bank.
They had snuck out from under their cousins' noses and had discovered the pod Clark had arrived in when he was sent to Earth.
Both boys were upset and angry, Jordan more so than anything. The boy felt betrayed.
"Look, I can explain." Clark tried to speak, but Jordan didn't want to listen.
"Can you explain how I fell from so high up and nothing happened?" He cried. He was so very upset.
"Jon tried to push me out of the way! But I knew he would get hurt, so I covered him! Those pipes hit me, and nothing happened. I didn't feel anything!" He sobbed, and Jon hiccupped from beside him.
Clark swallowed thickly, throat bobbing as he tried to overcome his shock. So, Jordan was the one beginning to show signs of powers.
"Look, boys, we would have told you eventually, but we just... We didn't know how." Eris spoke softly, gently bringing her boys in for a hug, but Jordan ripped away from her hold. His hands gripped his hair in angry frustration.
"Please?" Eris begged, reaching out one hand towards Jordan while trying to sooth a sobbing Jon. "Just give your father a chance to explain."
She hated this. She hated that her baby was pulling away from her.
"Dick told us we were lucky. That... That that's why we didn't get hurt. You told them to lie to us, didn't you!?" Jordan screamed at Clark.
Clark's face pinched in anguish.
"Yes! Yes, okay!" Clark shouted, throwing his hands up into the air. "I told them to lie!"
Clark took a deep breath to calm himself down, not wanting to scare his children. "Look. Jordan, please look at me." He knelt before his son and took the boy by his shoulders gently. Jordan looked up at his dad with red, wet eyes, snot dripping from his nose.
"I came to Earth in that pod 36 years ago. Landed here in Smallville. Right over there in Grandma's field. I wasn't even a year old." He gestured to the right of the house where the corn field was. Jordan sniffled and gazed toward where his father was pointing.
"I was sent here when my planet..." Clark cleared his throat as he got choked up. "When Krypton was destroyed." He may not have had any memories of Krypton or his birth parents, but he had gotten to know the ai his father had made of his consciousness. He went weekly to the fortress to speak with Jor El.
Jordan's breath stuttered, and Jon gasped. "Krypton!?" The boy exclaimed in shock from his mother's arms. His face lit up in recognition of the planet. The boy was a huge fan, after all.
"Boys... I'm not from here. Your grandparents, they took me in, raised me as their son. They taught me how to be human."
Jordan wiped at his cheeks with his hoodie. "You're- are you saying your Superman?" He whispered as he tried to clean his face, only managing to smear the snot and tears around.
Clark smiled softly. He looked up and noticed the relief on Eris' face. The boys seemed to be calming down and more willing to listen now. This was what she had wanted for a while now and what she had wanted to avoid. They should not have been told this way.
"We're sorry, boys. Honest to God. We were going to tell you soon." Eris said as she wiped at Jon's face as he pulled away to gaze at his father in awe.
Clark chuckled at both boys. They went from crying, sobbing messes to actively curious with excitement faster than he and Eris could keep up with.
Jordan stepped back and crossed his arms, puffing his chest up as he sniffled and tried to look brave.
"Prove it." He demanded like the kid he was. Clark huffed a laugh and stood once more and stepped behind the truck. He tossed his glasses to Bruce, who had been watching silently from the sidelines.
Bruce stepped toward the house and up to his son's. They had heard the commotion halfway through and came out to investigate.
Clark lifted the back end of the truck up with one hand and watched as both of his son's mouths dropped open, eyes wide in wonder and awe.
Clark decided to show off. He lifted the truck up off the ground with both arms and lifted it above his head before floating up about ten feet. He hung there for a moment before slowly floating back down and resting the truck back on the ground.
Eris nearly swooned. Her husband sure was something. She swallowed and blushed. Now was not the time to heavily eye her man like the eye candy he was. But god! She wanted to jump his bones. And by the way he shot a wink in her direction, he knew where her brain had gone.
Jordan gasped out and rushed to his dad's side, his face still red from crying. His brother was right behind him, pushing away from his mother's arms.
Questions began leaving each boy's mouth with rapid fire, causing Bruce to let out a chuckle at the poor look of bewilderment that Clark had as he tried to comprehend each question thrown his way by the two excited 9-year-olds.
"So... Are we going to move here then?" Jon asked as everyone sat around the living room.
After the alteration out front, they had taken the boys inside to answer any and all questions that they had and also to tell them about moving to the farm permanently.
Eris and Clark traded a look before Eris wrapped an arm around Jordan, who snuggled further into his mother's side. He had gone right back to not understanding personal space and she wouldn't have it any other way.
"We want to, yes. But we won't if you guys don't want to." Clark spoke softly.
Jon went quiet, staring intently off into space. His face looked constipated, and it made Erin giggle.
"Does that mean I'd have to switch schools?" He asked, head tilting to the side as he rubbed at his chin. It was adorable.
Clark nodded. "Yes, Jon. You'd attend elementary school here in Smallville. Your mom will continue homeschooling Jordan as well."
Jon suddenly smiled brightly and launched himself into his father's lap, nuzzling up under Clark's chin.
"I want to! I don't like my school anyway. The other boys are mean to me."
Clarks eyes shot over to Erin, who was frowning. Clark coaxed Jon to face him so he could speak to his son face to face.
"You won't have to worry about those kids ever again, Jon. And if anyone here bothers you, you tell one of us. We are here to help you, to love and protect you guys." Clark tried to get that notion into his son's head.
Jon looked up at his father with sparkling eyes.
Clark pressed a kiss to Jon's forehead. "And remember boys. Not a word outside of this house or this family about me being Superman. It has to stay secret, alright?"
He waited for both of the boy's nods before smiling. "Good."
He stood up with Jon in his arms. "Now how about some lunch. I'm starving."
