Exam Results
The next day Aqua was at the train station waiting for the train, she was looking at her phone but looks up and sees Zane approaching.
"So, it's you." Zane said to her "You did use this line before, now that I think about it…I hope you understand." He looks serious "Allow me to warn you again. Don't involve yourself any further."
"Why?" Aqua asked him.
"Don't play dumb. I'm saying you're an inconvenience." Zane said "I won't forgive you if you continue making a mockery of my sensei. Am I clear? This is a warning."
"Right." Aqua said and leaves for the train.
At school Aqua and Alexis were in class with there other classmates, they were having a class with Takanuva.
"Oh, yeah, the great artist Lysandre is holding an exhibition in Beacon right now, isn't he?" Takanuva said thinking "I've gone to see his work before, but wow… They are truly incredible! I saw some of his interviews, too. He really is a charming fellow."
"It's rare to see a gentleman artist like him, in a field know for having a lot of eccentric types." Takanuva continued and looks over to Aqua "By the way, you seem far removed from the arts, Aqua." Aqua sits up at attention "Which famous ukiyo-e artist of the Edo period is said to have moved residence over 100 times?"
Aqua thinks and said "I think it's Hokusai Katsushika, sir."
"Correct" Takanuva smiles and claps "It seems you know a thing or two after all. Hokusai had a habit of moving, but he also changed his name quite a lot at least thirty times throughout his life. His sole interest was his art, so he stayed in poverty, wore tattered clothes, and lived in squalor."
With the right answer the class voiced their impressiveness on Aqua getting it right, also Gatomon while Aqua felt her Knowledge improve due to it.
"Actually, Lysandre's house was quite modest, too." Takanuva added "All master artists, past and present, always put their art above their fame."
"He steals his students' work and makes them suffer! He's no master he's just an abusive old con man!" Gatomon said angry "We're gonna get him, no matter what."
"Right" Aqua said nodding. After class Aqua leaves the class and sees Carly and apporches her "Hey Carly."
Carly looks at her and said "Hey, so you know Mr. LeGume is gone, but that doesn't mean your bad reputation just went away…. All I've done till now is avoid you though, so I'll hear you out if you wanted to ask me anything."
"Well, what do you know about Gaston currently?" Aqua asked.
"I haven't been able to learn anything about what happened to him." Carly said sighing. "When I ask the teachers, they tell me to forget about it. I'm sure there's more they're not telling."
"I see, any new info?" Aqua asked.
"Do you know about Lysandre, the great Japanese artist? Apparently he's training a talented pupil." Carly said nodding. "Now I hear this pupil goes to Ninjago High. And that he's quite handsome for a robot."
"Yeah, I think I know of that." Aqua said nodding "What do you know of our new school counsellor?"
"That new counsellor seems to be fairly popular among the students." Carly explains "Of course, not everyone's on board. Some think the school's just trying to mitigate the damage Gaston did."
"I wouldn't put it past them" Aqua said nodding "Tell me about the newspaper club."
"The Citadel Academy newspaper club has a real history." Carly said proudly "Some of our alumni work in mass media now." She then sighs sadly "But now I'm the only member left. It's close to getting disbanded…"
"Oh, well I hope things turn around for you Carly" Aqua said to her.
"Thanks, I hope so too." Carly said with a nod.
Aqua leaves heading down but looking over her should she notice someone following her, it was J who's face was in a book..
"Can I help you?" Aqua asked
"Oh, are you alone today?" J asked her. "I had hear you were quite the troublemaker, but you seem to be behaving yourself."
"I see" Aqua said and leaves the school getting an umbrella out as it was raining.
She heads to the central diner on central street to get in some studying in though luckily it wasn't crowded due to the weather and was quiet.
The waiter came and said "Welcome! May I take your order, we added some new items to the menu due to the renovations, I highly recommend the Surprise Sando and Nostalgic Steak."
"Oh I will take the Surprise Sando please" Aqua said smiling
"Got it. I'll be right back with your order." The waiter said bowing.
Aqua got to work studying and when her food arrived she at it all quickly which surprised Gatomon of her Guts which was slightly improved and her knowledge also improved due to her focusing and studying.
They soon headed home after they were done.
When Aqua got in her phone dings and she sees a message in the Dragon Gems group chat and she checks it.
"Zane conteacted me…" Alexis messages.
"Asking you to model for him again?" Uzi asked.
"No." Alexis replies simply and adds "He said 'Outsiders who do not understand my circumstances should refrain from butting in. If you continue to involve yourselves, I will be forced to contact the police.'"
"He's really upset" Aqua said with a sigh.
"It's just like Alexis said..." Uzi messages "I think we got to stop trying to convince him. He's not gonna listen to anything we have to say."
"I think he's just being obstinate at this point." Alexis admits "I'm pretty sure he can sense something is wrong…And the only reason he made that impossible demand was to try and distance us from him."
"You think?" Uzi asked. "He just seems like a weird, stubborn bot to me."
"I guess that does fit the artist stereotype…" Alexis admits to that.
"Either way, what we gotta do ain't gonna change." Uzi states. "We have to steal Lysandre's heart."
Aqua nods and puts her phone away and goes to get dressed into normal clothes and goes to look at the TV. What was on was a Game Show hosted by Chuck Quizmo.
"If you punch someone and hunt them, you've committed 'bodily harm.' Now, consider these two cases…" Chuck Quizmo said asking a question "A: Unconsenting cutting of hair. B: Using noise to cause distress. Which of the two would be considered a case of bodily harm? You can be the judge!"
"Hmmmmm I say B, using noise to cause distress is the right answer" Aqua said thinking
"The correct answer is….B!" Chuck Quizmo said "If you drive someone crazy with noise, that's bodily harm! If it disrupts the body's functions, it counts as bodily harm, even if there's no physical contact!"
"Hair grows back, so it doesn't count as a wound. That'd be a case of 'assult' not bodily harm." Chuck explained the reason for why A doesn't count.
"Hey, you got it right. I'm impressed by how much you know about law." Gatomon said smiling and Aqua nods feeling her knowledge improve again.
Aqua decides to go to the baths to relax but sees a sporty man outside who says to her "Man, visiting the bathhouse on a rainy day is the best thing ever! On days of rain or snow, an old bot appears at this bathhouse and messes with the water's temperature. They made up some challenge on their own called the Hot Water Challenge. Maybe give it a try to test your Guts?"
"Yeah, I can do that." Aqua said and goes in, she could feel the intense steam outside the door, but she went in anyway.
She relaxes in the hotspring bath and indeed next to her turning the tap was the old bot turning it increasing the bath's temperature. It was quite hot…Aqua had to get out before she gets lightheaded… As she got out she made it to the changing room and collapses onto the floor.
"Whoa, you're so read. Are you okay?" Gatomon asked concerned. "I know it feels good, but… don't overdo it." Aqua groans nodding as she felt he Charm increase "I have to admit, pushing yourself that much is kind of impressive" Gatomon said as Aqua feels her Guts increase.
"It'd be nice to head home soon…but can you move?" Gatomon asked.
"Yeah…I can" Aqua said forcing herself up and gets dressed and heads home to rest.
The next day on the train Aqua stands in the crowd and overhears a Pale Young Man sigh and say "I don't want to go to work today…"
"You still working at that beef bowl place on Central Street?" A Caring Young Friend asked and Aqua knew they were on about Kermit's. "I thought you liked that place because the pay was good. What happened?"
"Sure, the pay's fine, but I'm the only one there at night." The Pale Young Man said "That job magazine said it was a 'fun friendly workplace." They sigh "Maybe I should just quit…"
"Like he says, work can be pretty trying…But it's a worthwhile experience. Don't give up." Gatomon said
"Yeah, true" Aqua said nodding.
She arrives and attends classes at school and at around lunch time she walks around the first floor and sees students gathered around a bulletin board.
"Oh, our grades are out." A female student said and asked a male student "How'd you do?"
"Damn…. I'm dead…" The Male Student said looking at his grades.
"Phew! I'm above the average." The Female Student said checking hers. "That's the real dividing line. My allowance is safe for now…"
'I wonder what score I got…' Aqua thinks and checks 'I finished a little higher than the average score.'
"Hm…. Well, it should set a good example for your friends." Gatomon said smiling. Aqua nods as she feels her Charm improve.
Soon Aqua heads to lunch and then after school heads to the hideout. They then set out to infiltrate the Palace
Once they were in, Gatomon said to the group "I'm sure you already know this, but the first thing we need to do is secure an infiltration route."
"From the looks of things there won't be any special shortcuts like Gaston's hidden lift." Aqua said
"Indeed, but after that we send the calling card." Uzi said "We know the drill already. Let's get ready!"
Aqua nods, time to begin infiltrating Lysandre's Museum of Vanity properly this time.
Well with the Exam results shown, Aqua begins the infiltration next chapter.
