Chapter 16
Galadriel stared at the mirror in front of her, looking at the expensive and ludicrous wedding gown she would wear on the night she would become Rhaegar's wife and future queen of the Seven Kingdoms. The exquisite wedding gown donned by Galadriel was a pristine snow-white, adorned with intricate symbols of the Stark family and the North, serving as a stunning homage to her origins and the unwavering support of her loved ones. Or that's what Galadriel's mother said.
For the white-haired woman, it was just a tool and nothing more.
Ah, the last few days have been so annoying. Rhaegar is genuinely a boring person. I can't stand his poems anymore! Ugh!
Galadriel whined internally, hating the fact that she had to spend even more time with Rhaegar until the wedding. Of course, Rhaegar's itself would be gone by the time that day arrived. Albedo would be a far better "husband" than Rhaegar. Still, for now, she had to endure the prince's relentless melodies and poetry. Surely, any lady would be wooed by having a prince sing to her, and Galadriel had to admit that Rhaegar had a beautiful singing voice. But now, after weeks of hearing Rhaegar songs, Galadriel just finds the singing incredibly aggravating and tedious.
Especially when Rhaegar's songs were about sadness, melancholy, and love.
He could at least add something different. All his songs put me to sleep or make me feel depressed!
Yet, Galadriel came to find out that Rhaegar was truly an egomaniac in disguise. And Galadriel knew that because she was an egomaniac, too.
It takes one to recognise another. However, Rhaegar's narcissistic behaviour was disguised as a sort of delusion that he was in charge of guiding the future of Westeros. Sometimes about his birthday and how he had known death since that day. In Rhaegar's eyes, the significance of his destiny and fate lay beyond the comprehension of anyone else. He firmly believed that he alone possessed the insight necessary to determine what was best for Westeros. Of course, it was all disguised as a "woes is me, no one understands the weight and pain I carry" sort of thing, which made him look arrogant in Galadriel's eyes.
Rhaegar clearly had delusions of grandeur. Perhaps on Galadriel's level, and that was something to admire in a very twisted sense.
At least Robert knows his place as a manwhore and drunkard and doesn't try to pretend to be more than that. That's far better than this annoying, delusional, silver-haired prince.
Galadriel knew that a conflict had to emerge to procure the Stark family's future as a powerhouse. The North, as a whole, was craving for such an opportunity, in fact. The Seven Kingdoms still followed the feudalism laws. While the king did possess some authority, it was clear that the Iron Throne alone couldn't control such a vast continent. The only reason someone like Aerys was still in power was that he had yet to truly cross the line to incite the ire of the Great Houses.
Galadriel wanted to create one government under one rule and eliminate the feudalism in Westero, but that would take time. Yet, Galadriel had something far better than dragons to achieve her goals.
War will make things easier for me.
Galadriel spoke with Pandora's Actor and Albedo about deceiving the Others by simply waiting for them to move first. Galadriel was still paranoid and did not want to pursue those White Walkers or the Night King if he were alive all the way up North without being at full strength. She still had to find Nazarick and the other Guardians. That was something both Albedo and Pandora's Actor fully agreed. There were other gods around the world as well. Beings that needed to be killed.
And they needed to find them but needed more people to achieve that.
So, for now, Galadriel wanted to focus on Westeros. A war would allow Galadriel to get rid of opposition and procure the Stark's power in the South with her on the throne. Then, she would strengthen her power, and with any luck, another guardian, or maybe Nazarick, would appear.
When that happened, they would take care of the gods while baiting the Others to come to them. To kill them all at once.
For Galadriel, it was a perfect plan. But of course, that plan had some annoying bits, like her having to endure Rhaegar and Robert.
Galadriel thought with a sigh. "The things I do for my family."
"What did you say?" Lyarra spoke as she was adjusting Galadriel's gown tightly.
"Nothing, Mother, just thinking about the wedding day," Galadriel muttered, annoyed.
Lyarra chuckled, noticing the tone of voice her daughter had. "You don't want to marry the prince?"
"It doesn't truly matter what I think."
"It does!" Lyarra snapped as Galadriel cringed at her mother's angry tone. "If you don't want to marry him, we shall take you back to the North and close the Moat Callin behind us!"
Galadriel raised an eyebrow, quite amused by her mother's proposition. "I believe you told Father about an amazing plan already."
Lyarra scoffed, albeit funnily. "Perhaps," she muttered before trying to get Galadriel's gown to fit perfectly, but there was a tiny little problem.
"How do you have such a pair of big breasts?!" Lyarra yelled, attempting to yank the front of the robe shut with all her might. A difficult task due to Galadriel's chest. "You big cow!"
"Hey?! I am your daughter!" Galadriel replied, quite insulted by being called a cow by her own mother.
"Well, stop eating!" Lyarra yelled, annoyed, noticing her strength was not a match for Galadriel's breast. "You can feed a family of twenty with those things!"
"Mother, please," Galadriel groaned before chuckling to herself.
Lyarra also smiled, but a face of worry appeared on her face. "Galadriel, do you still want to marry the prince? I am serious. Do you want that?"
Galadriel played her role and stared at her mother with anxious eyes.
"Not really. If I could've had the chance not to marry the prince, I would take it. But the king, have you seen him? Those eyes glared at me. He wants something from me."
Lyarra hated to admit it, but she met the king and queen during those times. She could see those mad eyes of his glaring at her daughter and at her family. Disgustingly licking his lips.
Lyarra didn't want to even think about what Aerys could be thinking. She honestly didn't want to know.
"We can think about something," Lyarra whispered, and Galadriel took her mother's hand and smiled gently at her.
"It's going to be fine... I believe everything is going to be alright."
Lyarra wasn't sure if she could take those words at face value, after all. Lyarra could feel something brewing in King's Landing. And she didn't like it at all.
The Isle of Faces, in the middle of God's Eye, was the perfect place for Galadriel's forces to create a new base of operations in the South. Pandora's Actor has kept things smooth, especially with what was coming. Yet, he couldn't deny that his current job of ensuring everything was organised made him feel homesick.
He craved to be back in Nazarick, in the treasury with all those items.
"I just wonder what sort of mess the treasury would be after such a long time of me being away," Pandora's Actor sighed deeply as he stared at the horizon, watching the large lake surrounding the island. "We need more mist. It would help us hide better."
Pandora's Actor muttered before hearing yet another sigh from behind him. He tilted his head, saw Albedo's tired and irritated expression, and knew she was quite tired of being a shadow on Rhaegar's side.
"Reconisense going smoothly?" He asked while Albedo scoffed.
"I don't need to learn more about that human. I've seen enough," Albedo replied with a hissing tone.
"Granted. The prince could be more interesting, and his mannerisms could be more varied. But that's me nitpicking. You'll have an easy time playing his role."
Albedo again sighed, feeling quite aggravated at the fact she had to endure watching her beloved one play date with a human. It was hard to see if she could be honest. Of course, Albedo knew that it was all temporary. Rhaegar, just like that drunkard, would die soon enough. But that doesn't mean she hated it any less.
"All for the sake of our lady's plan. I know," Albedo muttered with a sniff. "I just wish it would all end soon."
"It will," Pandora's Actor replied with a chuckle. "The wedding is going to be in a few days. But of course, we both know such a thing will not pass. It would be postponed because of the upcoming war we planned."
Pandora's Actor may not look like it. But he was also quite irked at the fact that her lady had to endure having those two humans over her. Neither was good enough for his creator. No human would ever be.
It was satisfying that they would both die soon. The only downside was that they would die too quickly for his taste.
Albedo glanced at him with a smile. "Of course, I know that. Nevertheless, I can't deny that, even with all we have planned, things won't go as we think."
Pandora's Actor nodded. "Indeed. We have a mad king, a prince deep into his own delusion and prophecies, and a drunkard filled with greed, lust, and hatred. Even if we planned for a thousand outcomes, we can't ever be ready for what those humans would do."
Albedo pondered the potential actions of the humans, whom she considered to be inferior beings, in response to their plans. The current strategy involved exploiting the foolishness and irrationality of the Mad King to sow discord throughout the Seven Kingdoms, which would ultimately jeopardise the safety of Galadriel in the eyes of the people of the North and her family, the Starks.
The plan was to create a scenario where Galadriel was kidnapped by someone. By whom? That's part of the mystery. Galadriel has written letters to Robert, Rhaegar, and her family, each with a different narrative.
To Rhaegar, the letter said, she was afraid of shadows lurking in the dark, about how she had been having bad dreams, nightmares about blue-eyed demons, and how the Mad King wanted to kill her family, how she was forced to write him a letter by mysterious captors who had taken her. Galadriel made sure to write it very emotionally, almost biblically. All that was needed for someone who was obsessed with prophecies, like Rhaegar, would fall for.
To Robert, there were almost nonsensical things about how she didn't want to marry Rhaegar but had to because the Mad King threatened to burn her and kill her family. How she wanted him, and only him, about her being forcefully taken away by Rhaegar and begging Robert to save her.
Of course, it would all look theatrical and unreal to some with brains. But Robert was already on edge. They just needed to push him slightly, and he would do the rest.
And to her family, it was how someone followed her, how the Mad King was trying to use her blood to bring back dragons or some nonsense. Galadriel knew her family was more intelligent than that. They would not fall for a simple letter. If she wrote something like Rhaegar kidnapped her, it would make no sense. Since, after all, they were to be married, why would Rhaegar do something like that? So, she focused on pointing at the Mad King.
Galadriel wrote the letter in a way that would sound believable.
However, Galadriel was also worried about something happening to her family. She was convinced that Brandon would do something stupid. In fact, she counted on it. That's why Galadriel would make sure to keep an eye on him and her family while she was away, "kidnapped".
So, Robert would blame Rhaegar and the Mad King for everything wrong. He already did, but this would certainly push him overboard.
Rhaegar would be blindsided by everything and forced to act, gather his allies and supporters, and try to get rid of his father. The Stark would simply care only for Galadriel's safety while also showcasing their regional strenght.
Now, pushing Rhaegar and Robert to fight each other was one thing. A duel between the stag and the dragon was not why they were doing all of this. The Starks' armies could only move if their lord called them to war. And for war to happen, the Mad King needed to honestly do something so stupid and outlandish that the seed of war sparked across Westeros.
Galadriel, Pandora's actor, and Albedo were sure Aerys would undoubtedly do something foolish.
They would only need to wait and see.
Galadriel forced a smile as she walked beside Rhaegar again. They were strolling the Red Keep gardeners for what was the tenth time today. She never thought it possible that someone could be so utterly dull and depressing simultaneously. Galadriel knew about depression. She knew it was quite an awful thing. But Rhaegar seemed to rejoice in that feeling.
"I want our first child to be named Aegon," Rhaegar whispered in his tender voice while Galadriel forced a smile.
Easy there; we aren't married yet, and you're already thinking of children? Galadriel cringed internally, still finding the idea of her sleeping with a man repulsive.
Albedo is different, but hopefully, she will be in her normal form when we do it.
"Aegon, you say? What is that?" Galadriel asked.
"You don't like it?" Rhaegar tilted his head as Galadriel had to shrug off the question.
"I don't hate it, but there are so many Aegons in the Targaryen dynasty. I thought we could get a better name."
Galadriel stopped before bringing Rhaegar's hand on her belly, a tender action that brought a soft smile to Rhaegar and an acid reflux to Galadriel, who was gagging internally.
"I guess we could think about names later on," Rhaegar replied softly, caressing Galadriel's cheek. "But we need three. A dragon must have three heads."
Galadriel scoffed internally, tired of hearing that strange omen of sorts. Or whatever that was. Rhaegar told her that they were destined to be together since, in their hands, a song of ice and fire prophecy would finally be accomplished.
Accomplish what exactly? That eluded Galadriel.
Still, Galadriel was curious about the Targaryen's intense fascination with the prophecy that had been passed down through their lineage. It wasn't just Rhaegar who had been fixated on it; he had confided in her that many of his ancestors had also believed in its significance. Despite this, Rhaegar seemed to possess an unwavering conviction that he was the one destined to fulfil the prophecy. Whatever that meant.
I am tired of these prophecies. I am truly struggling to simply... end it all and just destroy everything around me and conquer Westeros by force. Galadriel took a deep breath, trying not to let her desperation and anger get the best of her. You all are lucky. I love my family.
"I understand, Rhaegar. Believe me," Galadriel replied, using all of her willpower not to crack open.
Rhaegar smiled, kissing Galadriel's cheek tenderly.
"My lady, it's getting late. Let me guide you to your room."
"Thank you, my dear prince."
Galadriel stared at the report in her hand happily, leaving the Red Kepp behind. Her mind couldn't handle another day there.
"Good is going to be over soon," Galadriel muttered as she glanced at Pandora's Actor next to her. "You've done a great job, Pandora's Actor. This fortress is starting to look fantastic."
"Thank you, my lady. It's been quite the job. But if I am being honest, I wish we could find Nazarick soon. Our summons are not on the same level as the ones in Nazarick. Not adding the Guardians and all the items there," Pandora's Actor replied, giving a brief glance at the fortress being built behind them. "Nothing will compare to Nazarick."
"Yes, I do know that," Galadriel sighed before putting the notes down. "Not luck yet finding the guardians?"
"Not at all, my lady. Albedo and I are always using [Message] and trying to connect with some of them. But we heard nothing back."
"Meaning that they haven't arrived here yet."
Pandora's Actor nodded, which made Galadriel wonder if a pattern or action brought the Guardians to this world. It could be random as well. Galadriel couldn't say with certainty. Nevertheless, she knew that the only thing they could do was wait.
"Hopefully, it won't take long."
Galadriel commented before noticing Albedo arriving.
"My love," Albedo sighed happily.
"My dear Albedo, I hope you are ready to finally take part in all of this," Galadriel said, noticing the joyful smile on the succubus face.
"I am!" Albedo presented a striking silver and green ring adorned with a unique mask symbol.
"Ah, the ring of [Theater and Mascare]. It should allow you to take on the appearance of humans without difficulty. Of course, you must be careful not to cast spells while wearing the ring, or the disguise will vanish."
Pandora's Actor stated that Albedo nodded, already knowing the details of the ring.
"It should be fine. My natural defences and strength should be enough while I am using it. Also, if I cast a spell, I have at least five seconds until the ring's ability disappears. Then, I just had to take it off, put it again, and wait ten seconds."
"A good loophole you can exploit," Pandora's Actor nodded.
"You can transform into any human?" Galadriel asked with intrigue.
"It only works on humans. I can't transform into other races or high-level entities. Like one of us."
"I see, I see. Then show me," Galadriel said, and Albedo, smiling, activated the ring soon enough. Albedo transformed into Rhaegar. The same purple eyes, silver hair, cheekbones, and all. It was disturbing, especially since Albedo's smirk was plastered on that face.
"What about the voice?" Galadriel asked and was soon spooked by Albedo speaking and sounding like Rhaegar.
"It should be fine. I can imitate the prince's monotone and melancholy voice."
Galadriel shivered, feeling quite weirded out by how different this Rhaegar was.
"Y-yeah, it should do the trick," Galadriel muttered. "Can you transform into Robert?"
"I would rather not, my lady. Thank you," Albedo said before taking her ring off and feeling quite glad to be her true self.
"I understand," Galadriel sighed. "In any case, everything is ready. Yes?"
Pandora's Actor and Albedo nodded. "We are just waiting for your orders, my lady," they replied quickly.
"Good. None of the other Great Houses would truly move until it's convenient for them. Tywin Lannister has left for Cartely Rock after Aerys named Jaime a member of the kingsguard. So, Aerys has now made enemies of the Lannisters. The Tyrell would only move once it suited them, and even then, It's hard to predict what they'll do. So we must be careful about that."
"The other houses would certainly wait and see," Albedo added. "I doubt the Tully would do anything at all. But Dorne and the Vale, that's another history."
Galadriel knew Jon Arryn saw Ned and Robert as if they were his own. She has no doubt that he will side with them when the time comes. And about Dorne, if what her little spies have told her was true. Then, Brandon and Elia were truly spending more time with each other.
God, Brandon, just be careful. I have no doubt that Elia will cut your dick off if you overplay your cards.
Galadriel mumbled internally. Was that the reason why Brandon had taken a liking to the Dornish princess?
Maybe my brother needed a woman who could withstand his charms without giving in so easily. Elia's temper, from what I heard, can match Brandon's any day.
"In any case, once we put the piece in place, we will see how it moves. Be ready for anything."
Galadriel was aware that her carefully crafted plans would soon come to fruition, and she could sit back and enjoy the spectacle that would emerge.
But she should be wary because sometimes a plan could fail or work too well.
Authors note!
-Galadriel is not a good person, and like I stated before. She is quite the hypocrite. So yeah, some people don't like her, and that's good!
-Also, I don't remember when, but was Rhaella already pregnant when the rebellion started?
