Season 4 - Episode 10 - a week after 'Fifth Dynasty'

August 20, 2015

She'd twisted her ankle. Stupid shoes.

Damnit! It hurt.

She could walk around at work, wincing only a little, but paid for it the moment she left. It was so different, though, at home. With Rusty and Andy, she truly could just stay on the couch or in bed … watch t.v. … read a book … spend time with the two of them, or just with Andy, making out while icing her foot … and she did just that, and was doing just that at the moment.

"I love you." He grinned against her neck.

"I love you."

"You're so beautiful."

She hugged him close.

"Hungry?"

"Hmmm … no. You?" She kissed his lips. He was half-way laying on top of her, snuggling on her bed, her left foot elevated and icing.

"No, but we have to eat."

"Hmmm."

"How you feeling?"

"Annoyed."

"Not with me, I hope?" He brought her hand to his lips and kissed her fingers.

"Not at the moment." She smiled.

He pouted against her palm.

She giggled at him, moving her hand to the back of his neck to bring his lips over to hers.

"So …" he pulled back after a long moment and took a nervous breath in, "since you can't really … comfortably get up and run away … and we're alone …"

"I'm worried about where this is going."

"Well, it's really a simple question, but I still just … I don't know, I'll just ask it."

"Hmmm," she warned.

"I'm not proposing-"

"Andy-" she interrupted.

"I'm not proposing, but I wanna know if that's even something you'd ever want? Sorry, just wanted to clarify. Do you even want to get married again?"

"Do you?"

"Yes."

Her heart pulled. He answered so quickly and his eyes … piercing hers. She kissed him. "I love you," she whispered.

"Is that a 'yes'?"

"That is a 'yes' to the question of would I think of marriage with someone," she met his eyes, "you, one day. Yes."

"Okay, just checking." He smiled and moved down to kiss her neck again. He needed to ask. She may just want this. She may just want moving in together, one day down the road, to be the end. He thought more of it as a beginning. He thought of everything with her as a beginning.

"I'm afraid to ask why you're wondering. Andy, we just started dating."

"I know, but I wasn't sure how you felt about marriage … if you just wanted this."

He stopped kissing and looked up to her.

"I want you." She said softly, smiled, and ran her fingers through his hair.

"Well, you have me …"

She stared at him.

He finished, "... forever, Sharon."

She swallowed a little nervously. They'd said the 'I love you's' and both intended on this to last forever, but him saying it … she felt like she should try to slow things down, but that felt wrong, which … felt wrong.

She enjoyed just being here together. Able to kiss, touch, snuggle, without worrying about anyone else. He closed his eyes as she stared and continued her fingers throughout his hair and over his face. She only wanted to touch him. That was it. She enjoyed just being with him in these quiet moments. She'd never felt like this before and it threw her because she'd been in love and dated, but Andy. She just couldn't get enough of him.

He mumbled, "Wanna move to the living room? Watch t.v.?"

"Mmmhmm," she knew that he'd wanted to.

"Mmmkay, hold on," he kissed her lips quickly and rolled off of her, pushing up and moving around the bed to pick her up.

"I'm too heavy, Andy."

"Bullshit," he picked her up easily and left the ice for a minute, navigating the doorway and hall and putting her down gently on the couch, moving quickly to set up some pillows for her foot.

"Thank you," she grinned when he returned with the ice and settled on the other end of the couch.

Season 5 - Episode 14 - during 'Heart Failure'

February 21, 2017

"Can you see?" he asked her, knowing what getting hit in the face that hard will do to you. She'd just been hit moments ago, they were walking slowly to get some ice, his hand on the small of her back, the other, holding her arm to steady her.

"It's coming back, uhhhh, went black for a few seconds at first, good now though, very dizzy, stinging … you know the feeling." She was rambling a bit, shaken still.

"Wanna stop here, I'll bring you ice?"

"No, let's go to the break room together. I need a hug, too." She breathed through the pain. She didn't regret pushing the asshole to the edge, just hated that he hit so damned hard.

"How's your neck?"

"Hurts, but not bad. I was expecting the punch, relaxed into it," she laughed, "Oh, no laughing," she groaned. "Oh, no groaning, I'm gonna stop talking." She mumbled the last sentence. The pain worsened.

"I've got ya. We'll go sit, ice your cheek, not talk, just sit." He smiled.

She hummed in agreement, leaning more against him.

Once hugged and seated, two chairs against the wall, ice propped on a towel on his shoulder for her to lean on as comfortably as possible, allowed them to hold hands and just be.

She had to get punched in the face for a moment of quiet, alone with him. She didn't smile, but wanted to.

"Shit, babe, he clocked you hard. Wanna look out for a concussion. Maybe get checked out?"

She held up a thumbs up sign and then the 'maybe' or 'so - so' hand wave.

"I'm glad you stopped me from hitting him. I wanted to. I knew what you were angling for and you're amazing, but maybe let's not do that again…"

Thumbs up and a groan from her.

"I love you," he mumbled and squeezed her hand, running his fingers over hers.

She just hummed and squeezed his hand, happy that the pain was subsiding. Happy that no one walked by or came in. Happy to just be here with him, in silence, holding his hand. Happy it was quiet, peaceful. She'd just been punched in the face harder than she ever had before, and she felt happy.

She closed her eyes and squeezed his hand.

He closed his eyes and squeezed back.

A long while later, she hummed.

"Hey," he whispered as she took the ice with her and sat up.

"I'm good …"

He rubbed her back.

"Thank you, Andy. And stop with the Assistant Chief talk. I don't want it."

He knew that. "You can't always get what you want …"

"... and sometimes you have to get what you don't want? I'd be miserable. I'd feel obligated to …" she met his eyes. "I want to retire in the next few years, Andy."

He stood and took her hand, helping her up. She put the ice down for a bit, turning to hug him again.

"Retirement," he mumbled as he pulled her closer. "I never thought I'd want to …"

"Me either, really… but now..."

He kissed her head. "We're gonna have so much fun."

She smiled. "Ouch."

Season 4 - Episode 5 - three days after 'Snitch'

July 8, 2015

They'd left work at the same time and pulled into his driveway an hour later. He lived too far away, he sighed, but couldn't stay annoyed too long. She stepped out of her car before he could make it to open her door for her.

She rushed to him and threw her arms around his neck, kissing him hungrily, not wasting any time.

"Mmmmm, I missed you." She hugged him.

He smiled, "So hard not to touch you all day. Sharon, it's a problem." His hands were all over her back as they kissed some more. Appropriate, until it wasn't.

"We're still outside," she said into the kiss.

"Mmmhmm."

She pushed him a little and walked to the front door. He followed quickly, smiling. They'd been together for just three days now. He was giddy. Heart racing and brain still unbelieving.

They walked in and did as they have for three days now.

"Where do you want me?" She asked breathlessly against his lips as he pressed into her hard against his front door.

He growled in response.

And them then having wild, desperate, perfect sex against said front door.

"Well that was fun." She giggled, walking away after clothes were all on properly.

"You're amazing," he responded, watching her, following her, reaching to keep touching her.

They walked to his bathroom and took a shower together, quickly washing, but mainly just touching, giggling, hands exploring, tongues tasting, teeth biting, fingers, specifically his fingers, circling, massaging, coaxing and not letting up until the hot water all but disappeared.

She wrapped her arms around him in the kitchen as he put together something for dinner. As he moved around, spaghetti it looked like, but she didn't care, she kept him in her arms. It was difficult, a few times feet landed on top of feet, but she never let go, and enjoyed just looking at him as he worked.

He definitely was not complaining. This way, with her hanging on like one of those suction fish, his hands were free to cook.

He smiled, "Serve tomorrow evening?"

She returned the smile and kissed his lips. "Finally …"

"Shut up."

"Make me."

My god, this woman. He kissed her for a long time, just swaying slowly, almost dancing. The stove wasn't on, so he could enjoy this for hours.

He looked down to her. This was so new still. He found it hard to believe … that he was here, in the dream that he'd thought of for so long. Staring into her eyes and not being uncomfortable. Able to touch her whenever he wanted (after work). Able to kiss her whenever he wanted.

"I love you, Andy."

If he'd died right then, everything would be fine. He felt his heart flip. He'll never tire of hearing those words from her.

"... and I love you."

"Mmmmm," she squeezed him closer, "How are things at work?" She smiled against his shoulder.

"Fucking horrible." He started prepping and cooking.

"Hmmm?"

"Temptation to touch you every second. I think I need to transfer … or retire."

She looked up to him. "Funny."

"I'm kind-of serious, Sharon. I think of work, sure, but you're at the forefront … and that isn't good-"

"It's just because we just started," she kissed his lips, "... everything."

"I've been in love with you for a while and could compartmentalize … we touched, hugged, for a long while, too … and I could put it all out of my mind, but these past two days …"

"You'll be fine."

"I wouldn't be against retiring."

She looked to him in shock.

"No, really … can you imagine?"

"You retiring? Right now? Because of me? No."

"Well not just because of you-"

She gave him that look.

"Okay, so not just because it's the hardest thing I've ever done, keeping my hands off of you or my eyes, even, during the day … but us, uh … having all of this sex, Sharon … I'm not, what do they say, a 'spring chicken' anymore. Retirement would allow me to rest while you went to work." He grinned that stupid grin she loved so much.

She smiled brightly up to him and kissed along his jaw. "Mmmhmm …"

"Seriously, babe," he squeezed her closer as he continued to watch the food on the stove.

"Babe? Is that my nickname from you?"

He looked down to her. "That okay? Do you hate it?"

"No, I like 'Babe' … definitely not 'Baby', though …"

"Noted."

"Honey," she kissed his neck.

"Love," he ran his hand down her back.

She pulled back a bit and met his eyes. "Sweetheart … that's you, Andy." She kissed his lips hard. His heart ... and years ago, she never thought she'd think this of Andy Flynn ... astonished her. Sweetheart was the perfect term for him.

"Mmmm," he put down the fork and wrapped his arms around her. Hands then moving everywhere. He backed her up against the fridge and pushed against her, sloppy kisses and eager hands.

"Andy," she whispered against his ear to slow him down, but that was a mistake.

He growled.

"Honey," she pushed back a bit and her smile matched his.

"I can't keep my hands off of you."

"That's fine here …"

"But at work-"

"It's just because it's new, and amazing, and," kissing him again, "incredible …"

"Mmmhmm," he agreed, moving them away from the fridge back to the stove.

"It'll pass," she let out after a while, "once we have a few arguments, especially."

"I'll never argue with you," he moved to kiss her neck.

She hummed, hands in his hair.

"You will always be right …" he kissed further down.

"You're ridiculous."

"I'm obsessed," he met her eyes and stood.

She was transfixed with his eyes for a long moment. He loved her so much and she felt it so strongly. It scared her and she loved it.

She pecked his lips quickly. "Well, get over it … at work."

"I'm trying. You're so beautiful."

She kissed him again. "... and hungry." She winked as she remained latched onto him while he continued preparing their dinner. She, too, couldn't seem to let go.
