The Daily Lives of The Owl Familia: P2:
Dinner With The Parks
Summary: While having dinner with his girlfriend's dads, Hunter learns more about his own father's past.
Timeline: Six weeks and four days have passed since the Day of Unity was stopped.
Harvey Park was near full panic mode; the abomination witch flew frantically around his kitchen as he worked on tonight's dinner. From the kitchen door, Gilbert and Willow watched all this with worry.
The construction witch decided it was time to intervene when his husband dropped a plate of meat and began to curse up a storm.
"Dear," Gilbert said softly, walking up to his husband, Willow following her dad. "I think you need to calm down."
Harvey threw a glare at Gilbert as he went to the fridge to get more meat. The fair-skin witch wasn't affected by his husband's glare and got close to him.
"Harvey," Gilbert said softly and lovingly, "I think you're overacting here."
"And how could you not?" the abomination witch asked pointedly. "We're about to have dinner with a member of the council of the Boiling Isles! And let's not forget⦠I HIT HIS SON WITH A BAT!"
Gilbert sighed under his breath and then did the only thing he could think of to calm his husband down; he softly kissed him. Harvey tried to fight the gesture, but he quickly melted into the kiss and returned it in full force.
Willow smiled at her dads and then began to clean up the meat on the floor. The two older witches separated after a few seconds, and the abomination witch stared deeply into his husband's eyes.
"I hate when you do that," Harvey muttered softly.
"I know," Gilbert replied knowingly and then turned serious, "But don't worry. I'm sure Chairman Deamonne will understand that you weren't in your right mind when you attacked Hunter."
Harvey took a deep breath to calm the last of his nerves and nodded. Gilbert smiled at this, and wordlessly, the entire Park family went about finishing dinner.
(Two hours later)
Despite everything Gilbert did to calm his husband down, Harvey tensed back up when the Deamonnes came. Everyone in the room could feel the anxiety coming off of the dark-skin witch.
And Darius could tell that all of the tension was because of him. So, with a sigh, he set his fork down and looked at Harvey.
"If there's something you would like to discuss with him," Darius said bluntly, "Now will be the time."
Harvey nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard the chairman's voice. He swallowed a lump that formed in his throat as the chairman looked at him.
"Are you mad at me?" Harvey asked after a moment of thought.
Darius cocked an eyebrow at this. He honestly didn't know what the other abomination witch was talking about. Thankful, Hunter got what this was all about.
"Umm, Dad," Hunter said awkwardly, "I think Mister Park is talking about the time at the amusement park."
Darius looked at his son for a second and then remembered that day. He looked at the nervous Harvey and sighed.
"I admit, when I found Hunter in such a state, I wasn't happy," Darius heard Harvey take a sharp breath and then smiled at his fellow abomination user. "But after getting the report and learning more about what transpired, I can't hold it against you."
Harvey stared at the chairman for about two seconds and then let out a nervous laugh, slumping in his chair. Gilbert looked at his husband, relieved that things were settled.
"Besides, it's no different from when you hit me with a bat," Darius said offhandedly.
Everyone was surprised, and they looked at Harvey. Harvey just laughed sheepishly and let a nostalgic smile bloom on his face.
"Just know, this happened before Chairman Deamonne was in any position of power," Harvey clarified.
"Yes," Darius replied, also getting nostalgic, "It was just your typical rival schools' debate."
Harvey chuckled dryly and added, "You called a fight breaking out because one of your classmates accused one of our Grugby players of having a Rsuty smug hidden in their uniform, a typical debate?"
Darius chuckled as well. "Well, the rivalry between our schools was moreā¦intense than today."
Gilbert blinked as he looked between the two abomination witches.
"I'm surprised Principle Faust let something like that happen. His strictness was even known to us at St. Epiderm," The construction witch said in awe.
Darius sighed as some of the nostalgia faded from his eyes. "The rivalry between the schools was about the only thing Fuast encouraged. I think he saw it as evil defeating evil in that twisted mind of his. Now, enough about old times. I want to get back to this delicious Devilroast while it is still warm."
The group silently agreed and went back to their dinner. It wasn't long before the atmosphere became more lively, and the adults were making small talk.
At one point, Harvey saw how close his daughter and her new boyfriend were and couldn't help but make a small joke.
"Maybe you two should make a pilgrimage to the soul stone and see if you're destined for each other?" Harvey teased lightly.
"Papa!" Willow groaned, going red in the face.
The fathers couldn't help but laugh when they saw that the kids' faces were matching shades of red.

So, with this, we end the Darius arc, and now we're moving into the moment everyone's been waiting for. Also, after Luz discovered the Soul Stone legend was true, couples had since made their way to the stone to see if their love was true. However, there is a 54 failure rate because most can't get past the stone's defenses.
