"So, you two can fuse together?"

"I DO NOT SMELL!"
Summer watched as the two yo-kai of the past began to bicker at each other. She looked over at her versions of Whisper and Jibanyan, who were busy trying to see if they could fuse. Their attempts basically had them squeezing into each other until Jibanyan got mad and tossed Whisper into a tree. "To defeat Dame Deadtime, we combined ourselves together to pull off our ultimate attack, the Flurry of Fury!" Whisper said, punching the air rapidly. "I was going to do that actually, Whisper came in because he wanted the 'big letters'" Jibanyan explained, causing the young Whisper to turn back to him. "IT IS NOT FAIR THAT YOU ALWAYS GET THE BIG LETTERS! I WANT TO BE POPULAR TOO!" they continued to bicker and bicker while Summer had a drop of sweat roll down her head. "Well, it's nice to know that you two could fuse at one point." she said, to which she looked back at the future versions, still trying to make it work. "Nyo, nyo, nyo. Here, let me try." Jibanyan hopped over and grabbed the Future Whisper. "Hey, what are you doing to my ha-WHISWHISWHISWHIS!" The past Jibanyan started to spin him around by the swirl on his head. After a few seconds, he tossed him full speed at his future counterpart, the two collided and landed in a cloud of smoke. As the smoke cleared… nothing seemed to have changed. "WHAT WAS THAT GOING TO ACCOMPLISH?!" Whisper asked, the small Jibanyan stood there for a few seconds blinking. "Nyothing honestly, I just wanted to see you get hurt." he said, a tick mark appeared on the back of Whisper's head. "You what?" Jibanyan asked, the small cat Yo-kai turned to look at his future self. Although in his lightside form, he gave off a menacing glare. Jibanyan jumped and screamed, trying to land in the arms of Summer, but instead landing on his back. "YEOWCH!" Jibanyan said, before looking at the two future Yo-kai. "I forgot how scary we are in the future." Jibanyan said.
"Hey… why did Jibanyan phase through you?"
Summer blinked and looked down at her arms. They were held out to catch the past Jibanyan, but he… fell through them. "Hey, I didn't know that you could have the ability to phase through stuff." Whisper said, he floated up to her back and started putting his hand through her back, sliding it up and down. "What… are you talking about?" Summer asked, Jibanyan got off the ground. "Yeah, I can phase through you, nyan." Jibanyan walked through her legs and out the otherside. She looked at the future versions of Whisper and Jibanyan, who seemed to be more concerned rather than how cool this is. "So like, is this something all future people have or is it just you?" Jibanyan asked, walking through her legs again. "If it's something all future people have, I wouldn't be surprised." Whisper said, with how much things have changed in thirty years, the ability to be see-through and be able to phase through walls was something else, better than robots in the forties. Whisper was thinking of one of Nate's many comic books. "No, no. No one is supposed to phase through things. I need to go check with everyone else." Summer said. She turned on her feet and rushed over to the detective house, where everyone was supposed to be celebrating their victory. As she entered the tiny house, she noticed that Tate was on the bed, having the same problem as her. "TATE!" she screamed, running to his side. "Sis… I'm scared." Tate said, his voice seemed shaky. "What… what is this, what's happening to us?" Summer asked, looking at Bruno. "I-I don't know. We'll have to wait for Granny to come back, she'll know what's happening." Burno said, stammering over the first words. "WAIT! THEY ARE DISAPPEARING BECAUSE NATE IS STAYING TOO LONG IN THE FUTURE! THUS, HE WILL NEVER MARRY KATIE, AND FOR THAT REASON, YOU TWO ARE STARTING TO DISAPPEAR!" Whisper screamed, waving his arms like crazy. Everyone stared at him in shock. "That's… actually a good assumption." Bruno said, putting a finger to his chin. Nate blinked a few times, before he gasped. "WHY ARE YOU BLAMING ME FOR THIS?!" Nate asked, pointing at himself. "My dear boy, this happens in literally every time travel movie ever. Get with the program." Whisper flicked Nate in the forehead. "So… they are disappearing… because of me?" Nate asked, putting his hands on his head. "Fraid so, that means we have to get back to our time period." Whisper said, striking a pose while a tiny delorean appeared behind him. Nate opened the door and walked out, everyone falling behind him. "But… but I can't go back. Remember, we are stuck here? It's not like the door is just going to magically fix itself." Nate said, looking over at the future gang. Summer had a worried yet comforting smile on her face while she was starring at her brother. Cole had his arms crossed and Isabelle was trying to help carry Tate, only for her attempts to be for nothing. Bruno was busy in thought, and the future Yo-kai were all giving off creepy stares, except for the bike, he was tucked into the corner. He waved at the three before watering the flowers. "DEAR BOY! YOU ARE MESSING WITH PRINCESS SUMMER! FOR THAT, YOU DO NOT BELONG HERE!" Sly said, striking a heroic and fighting pose. "H-Hey, are we going to fight now?" Nate asked, jumping back a little bit.
"There is no need to fight! I have the solution for everything!"
A loud voice filled the area, even the bike Yo-kai stopped doing what he was doing to look. "UP THERE!" Charlie said, pointing upwards with his pedal. Everyone turned their heads to the sky to see a lone figure floating. It was a small blue cat, Bruno noted it to be similar to the past Jibanyan. The cat had white on his muzzle and a red scarf that looked more like a cape. Squinting, he could make out what appeared to be a belt with a red and light blue swirl. "HOVERNYAN!" Nate screamed, waving to him. "You know him?" Bruno asked, to which Nate turned and nodded. "He has helped us out more times than I can count." Nate said, before he proceeded to count. "Huh, it's actually four times." Nate said, holding up four fingers. Hovernyan gawked, before he shook his head and flew down. "I am here to solve your problems." Hovernyan said, getting a serious face. "You're going to fix the door?" Jibanyan asked. "Well… uh, no. Someone else is doing that." Hovernyan said. "So, can you fix them?" Nate asked, pointing to his future children. "No. Only you can fix that." Hovernyan said, placing a paw on the boy's shoulder. "So, you can't help at all, can nya?" Jibanyan asked. "I-er. Listen up! A great evil is a foot and threatens both the future, the past, and the present." Hovernyan said, crossing his arms. "Really? Is it the giant floating whale again?" Whisper asked as a joke. "He wants to wipe out the human race as we know it." Hovernyan said, to which everyone looked at him. "You're joking." Whisper said, to which Hovernyan shook his head in shame. "While his name is unknown to me right now, it is said that he has been around since the birth of Shien, the first Lord Enma's son. And since then, he has tried numerous times to try and take out the human race, to no avail." Hovernyan explained. "So, is he back? Is he going to try and kill all the humans again?" Bruno asked. "It seems that way, and he has enlisted the Yo-criminals help, as well as the help of the Yo-kai of the future realm to take down everything." Hovernyan said.
"So… what do we do about it?"
Hovernyan looked towards the future Yo-kai Detective agency. "I have talked about this with someone you know. Lord Kaira." Hovernyan said, they all gasped. "LORD KAIRA!?" Whisper screamed, hovering over the Yo-kai from seemingly all time periods. "How did you even get in contact with him?" Cole asked, he looked incredibly shocked. "It was not as hard as it seemed, my friend." The cat said, as he was about to start how he got into the palace to meet Lord Kaira. "Wait, who is Lord Kaira?" Nate asked, butting into the conversation. "He is the new lord of the Yo-kai World in this time period, and is the one who is fixing the door as we speak. With his power, we will hopefully be able to find where this evil doer is, and stop him. But as of right now, you must return to your time period and fix all of this. All of you, go!" Hovernyan said, flying away. As he flew away, he tossed something over to Isabelle. "In case of emergencies, use this!" He said as he flew away. "His… keystone." Isabelle held it in her hands. "I also have his medal." Nate said with a smile, before he looked towards his future children. "Don't worry, everything is going to be okay. I'll get you all back to normal, I promise." Nate said, smiling with hope. "I know you will." Summer said with a smile.
The Park:
Nate and the others had just arrived in time as the door was ready. "And done." Kaira said, taking a few steps back. No one was around, he marveled the door. It was a pretty piece of technology and magic from the Yo-kai world. It had to be from the Yo-kai World, as the cat had theorized. He was good, really damn good. The footsteps behind him made him turn. The Yo-kai Detective Agency had arrived, the two Adams kids were see-through and looked like they could collapse at any minute. The other three, the white marshmallow, the small red cat, and the… average boy, were the ones he did not recognize. "Legendary Yo-kai Master?" he asked, the average boy stepped forward. "It's uh, Nathan Adams, sir." Nathan had said. "Pleasure to meet you, I am Lord Kaira, the new ruler of the Yo-kai World. I am sure Hovernyan has told you." Kaira had said, before looking over back at the Detective Agency. "I apologize for not noticing this problem sooner." he simply said, to which Summer spoke up. "Don't apologize, you can't know everything that goes on through time. These are time travelers." Summer had said. "Even so, this… Yo-kai, is using time to gather an army and destroy all of humanity. Rest assured that I will be working around the clock to make sure we found out where he is." Kaira said, before looking at Cole. "I trust you are doing well since I have last seen you." Kaira asked, to which Cole nodded. "Good." Kaira simply said, before looking back at the time travelers. "Be safe out there, and do not return to the future, as you can tell, your presence here can shift the balance of time. It is best for you to stay in your own time period." Kaira said. "You can't tell us what t-" Nathan covered the red cat's mouth. "Rest assured your majesty, we will not return here ever again!" Whisper said, drops of sweat going down his body as Kaira walked away. "I look forward to your return, detective agency." Kaira said, before he walked away and disappeared. "He's… kinda cool." Nate said, "Show off, Enma was better." Jibanyan said. "DON'T SAY THAT! WHAT IF HE'S JUST LIKE ENMA!?" Whisper asked, to which the Future Whisper chuckled. "Nothing like Enma I'm afraid, they aren't even the same species." Future Whisper explained. "Nya? Then… what is he?" Jibanyan asked. "A han-yo." Future Whisper said bluntly. "A… what?" Nate asked, Whisper pulled out his Yo-kai pad and started to swipe and swipe. "I know all about that, with my vast butler knowledge, I know everything there is about… I-I will tell you wh-when you're older." Whisper said, putting his tablet away and proceeding to go whiter than he already was.
"Okay now, let's open this door. Say our goodbye's, and then everything will be back to normal, right?" Nate asked. "No, actually, it's better if you have actual contact with Katie, and even then, who knows if that will fix the problem." Whisper said. "BUT YOU JUST SAID THAT IT WILL!" Nate screamed. "Hey, that's in the movies!" Whisper retorted, to which Nate groaned and held up the key to the door. The door shined for a second before it opened up. Summer watched as the door opened and she saw the world of the past. It was through one door. "Looks like you're going to take a trip to the past then." Nate chuckled, scratching the back of his head. "Cool! We'll get to see our younger mom!" Summer said, looking at Tate. "Y-yeah!" Tate forced a smile, even though he was in pain. "Let's hurry this along, any minute wasting is time we can be using to find Katie."
"GIVE BACK NATE YOU VARMITS!"
"MEOW!"
Nate jumped out of the way, as did everyone else, as three people came in. One was swinging a guitar and looked similar to Jibanyan, although he was different. He was yellow and white, the flames on his tails were darker. His stomach band was red and blue. The other seemed to be another space bunny thing. The face was blue, unlike Intrudapyon. The suit was yellow and in his hands was an orange and yellow blaster that was firing blue lasers. The other one was a human, a purple haired girl. The hair on her was short and she had round glasses as well as a pink jacket and a small white skirt. She had dark blue leggings and yellow shoes. "The photo bomber." Cole heard Summer mumble. "H-Hailey Anne?!" The three stopped in their tracks so fast that it was like a car screeching to a halt. "Hm?" the girl said, turning around with the other two. "Usapyon?" the past Whisper asked. "Tomnyan?" Jibanyan asked. "GANG! YER ALL ALRIGHT!" Tomnyan ran forward and started hugging them. "We were all worried, meow!" Tomnyan said. "HEY! WE DID IT!" Hailey said, clapping Usapyon's hand and taking a salute. "FILE THIS CASE AS CLOSED!" the two said to no one in particular. "Uhhhh… who is this?" Bruno pointed to the purple haired girl. Tomnyan blinked, hopping over to them. "Hello meow!" Tomnyan said, extending his hand. "Aw, you're kinda cute." Isabelle knelt down and scratched Tomnyan behind the ears. The yellow cat Yo-kai stomped his foot on the ground. "That's the spot there pardner, your meowriffic." Tomnyan said.
"Hey so like, whose this? Are they the aliens that abducted you?" Hailey asked, to which Nate had a drop of sweat roll down the back of his head. "They… well, are my kids, and their friends of course." Hailey blinked at what Nate said, staring back at the group. Two of them were seen through, but she could make out simple features. The girl that was taller had braids and brown eyes. She had white skin and a white thing on her wrist. The boy looked like Nate, but there was only one spike in his brown hair. He was wearing a blue shirt that had a star on it. There were two other boys with him, one was a chubby boy wearing some sort of weird skirt thing and had a necklace. He also had something on his wrist that Hailey swore was on TV as a weird toy. He had spiky hair and was wearing sandals. The other boy made her blush slightly, he was handsome alright. Dark green hair and brown eyes, a blue and white striped shirt, an interesting black wrist band with weird symbols on it. At least she thought it was symbols, he wore black jeans and white shoes. The girl next to him had platinum blonde hair, a white jacket, and a pink dress. She also wore brown sandals. She examined them for a few minutes before looking back at Nate. She blinked at him, "Future kids?" she asked, the legendary Yo-kai Master nodded. Hailey nodded as well, before she screamed at the top of her lungs "WHAT?!" Nate covered his ears as the Yo-kai of the past looked at her. "AWESOME! I WANT TO SEE MY KIDS FROM THE FUTURE!" Hailey said, jumping up and down like a maniac. "Future?" Usapyon asked, finally taking in his surroundings. Triangle Park was a lot more open… and not a triangle anymore. "Y-yeah. That's where I've been." Nate said, scratching the back of his head.
It took at least fifteen minutes of explaining to everyone what had happened. "And if he doesn't find our mother… we're going to disappear out of existence… that's the theory at least." Summer said, holding her brother close to her. "Wow… that's so cool!" Hailey said, stars in her eyes. Everyone from the future blinked at her. "This is like a scene from a movie. Please tell me I'm dreaming-actually, don't do that, I never want to wake up!" Hailey squealed. "QUIT YOUR MOVIE TALK, THIS IS SERIOUS!" Usapyon said, smoke coming from his head. Hailey looked at her companion, she stared at him for a little bit. After a few seconds, she sighed in annoyance. "Why couldn't I get something like Cole or Bruno have? I want to be possessed and get thin by god-like Yo-kai." Hailey whined, Usapyon had a tick mark appear on the back of his head. "Hey! I'm just as cool and powerful as those god-like Yo-kai or whatever they are called." He said, striking familiar poses. "I… you said he was a space alien?" Summer asked. "I AIN'T NO STINKIN SPACE ALIEN! Don't listen to her, I'm Usapyon! A yo-kai!" Usapyon struck a pose. Everyone stared at him, "He looks very much like someone from space though." Isabelle said, Usapyon had a drop of sweat roll down his head. "Ignore the champy, let's talk about the god-like Yo-kai again!" Hailey said, going up to Cole with stars in her eyes. "QUIT IT! Let's just go find Katie." Usapyon jumped off the park bench and started walking to the door. "OOOH MAYBE YOU CAN TURN INTO SOMEONE TO HELP US FIND KATIE FASTER!" Hailey said, leaning further onto Cole. Cole took a step back, but Hailey followed. "I… I think your little friend is angry." Bruno said, pointing to Usapyon shaking as a shadow obscured his eyes. "Oh, he's always like that. He has a very short temper." Hailey began.
"Yeah, one that should NOT be messed with."
Hailey seemingly ignored her average friend. "He was always bugging me to go and look for Nate while we searched around Springfield when I told him that there were superheroes looking for Nate and that there was someone already covering for him." Hailey explained. "YOU SAID NATE WAS DEAD AND WE SHOULD GIVE UP HOPE!" Usapyon screamed, to which Hailey turned to him with a smug smile on her face. "You don't have any proof of that."
"That's it…"
Usapyon put out two thumbs and pressed the buttons on the side of his helmet. Cole watched as a glass covered the space otter Yo-kai's face and black smoke appeared to cover the glass aside from two glowing red eyes. A deep, almost threatening voice said "Invader Mode". Nate looked at his friend with an unamused look. "You just had to go and set him off." Nate said. "What… what's going on with him?" Tate asked, seemingly out of his pained state and looking at the Yo-kai with fear as he drew his blaster. He started firing lasers at everyone, aiming for the Yo-kai and the humans. "GAH! IS HE ALWAYS LIKE THIS?!" Isabelle asked, ducking under a laser that almost took out her head. "I'M SORRY! I'M SORRY! SEE WHAT I SAID ABOUT HIS TEMPER?!" Hailey screamed. This lasted for a few minutes, before Jibanyan had enough. He dipped into his stomach band and arose in his Shadowside form. "Hey buddy." he grabbed Usapyon by the tail. The Yo-kai turned, getting one good look at the cat's shadowside form however, made him go into a frenzy. The smoke disappeared and the glass went up to see Usapyon's shocked face staring back at him. "WHAT IN TARNATION IS THAT?!" he screamed, his legs shaking left and right. "Oh yeah, we can get really scary in the future with a Shadowside form, nyan." Jibanyan said, walking up to his future self. "Oh meow god! I want to get all scary in the future!" Tomnayn said, turning to the future group. "When can I get all scary?" Tomnyan asked. "Do… Do we know this guy?" Tate asked. "Do we know about the space otter also?" Cole asked, to which everyone shook their heads. The two Yo-kai of the past had drops of sweat roll down their heads. "LOOK! We just need to find Katie, and we need to find her now! Every second of this is just wasting time. We can cover more ground if all of us split up and find her." Nate said. "Right! Now more dilly dallying!" Usapyon said, getting dropped to the ground. "We'll go with father, the rest of you, get in groups and split up." Summer said, taking her brother with her and walking through the door. Walking through the door hurt slightly, but once the pain subsided, she was hit with a weird wave of nostalgia. "Everything is… so old timey!" she said, looking around her. The houses felt like things from the past, the cars were not sleek like in the future. People were using outdated phones. "That's because it's… twenty fifteen." Whisper said, a drop of sweat falling down his head.
"Come on, her house is this way."
Nate led his children and his two Yo-kai companions off to Katie's house. On the way, they marveled at how the world has changed in thirty years. "I swear they changed this, there wasn't a sidewalk there." Summer said, pointing to the ground. "Hey, they tore those houses down right?" Tate asked, Summer looked to where he was pointing. "Yeah, over here is, like, a convenience store where we're from." Summer said. "I feel like it's weird to have them here." Whisper said. "You were the one that wanted them to come with us." Jibanyan told him. As the two made it to Katie's house, Nate was the first one to knock on the door. It took a few seconds to open, but it was Katie's mom that answered. "Oh, Nate!" she said, to which Nate stood up straight for. "Hi Mrs. Forester! Is Katie here right now?" he asked. "No, she just went out with you, I thought, said something about going up to the mountains for a bug hunt." Mrs. Forester said. "Oh… yeah, I-I told her I would meet her up there." Nate said, scratching the back of his head. He took off running, leaving Mrs. Forester confused. Why would Katie leave early… only for Nate to go up to her house and try and get her when he knew that he was going to meet her. She shrugged, kids would be kids she supposed.
"All we have to do is find Katie, talk to her for a little bit, and then you two should be back to normal." Nate said, starting to run backwards. "Nate?" The boy stopped dead in his tracks and turned to see his friend, Sarah. "I thought you were at the convenience store with Katie, you were getting snacks for that bug hunt of yours, right?" Sarah asked. "I-well-you see-YEAH!" Nate screamed, Sarah leaned back, flinching at the scream. "I-I see… well, I hope you two have fun." Sarah waved and jogged off. "Okay… this may be tougher than I thought." Nate said, a drop of sweat rolling down his head. He and his group jogged off to the convenience store… where there was no sight of the ponytail girl anywhere. "Alright… alright, just remain calm." Nate said, turning to his children, they looked more faded out of reality than before. "You… you don't look like you're remaining calm at all." Tate said, to which his father simply laughed. "I'm as calm as I have ever been!" Nate said, laughing again. "You're profusely sweating, and Swelton isn't even nearby." Whisper said, to which Nate glared at him. The door dinged as two people exited the convenience store, two familiar people that stopped dead in their tracks once they got a good sight of Nate himself. "OH MY SWIRLS!" they both said, causing everyone to turn around.
"K-Komasan?! Komajiro?!"
The two took off the leaves on their heads and rushed over to Nate, giving him a big hug. "We were so worried!" Komajiro said. "You were gone for a week! We had to fill in and do our best to make sure everything was okay while you were gone!" Komasan said. "Thanks for that! I missed you guys a lot, especially you Komajiro!" Nate said, giving the two a hug. "That's what they looked like in the past?" Tate asked, peering over his father's shoulder. "Hey… who's the invisible guy?" Komajiro asked, blinking up at Tate. "OH MY GOSH! THEY ARE SO CUTE!" Summer grabbed them and hoisted them into the air. "OH MY SWIRLS!" Komasan screamed as he spun around in the air alongside his brother. "Y-you can see us?" Komajiro asked. "Why wouldn't I? You two are the cutest things ever. I want to take you home with me." Summer said, holding them close to her chest.
Komajiro felt like this was going to be a long day.
A/N: Not the longest one I have written, but I do hope you enjoy this chapter! We're finally getting into the middle of the story and while we haven't seen the antagonist yet, next chapter, that is going to change. I bet you can already guess who it is but as a hint, it's not Soranaki or as the English folk over here call them, The Overseer. The English also call Kaira "Ananata" or something like that. I had a hard time pronouncing his name so I just went with the Japanese name. It was much easier to pronounce for me, plus it's a cool name haha! I think a chapter each month can work out. Give you time to chew on this while I spend my time working on other projects as well (mostly Fnaf haha). As of right now though, I'm taking a break from writing in general. Not well in the headspace and I just need a break for a bit. Next month though should be when a next chapter is posted so you hopefully won't have to wait too long!
