Chapter 1
The sun shown through the clouds over a wooden fence. Birds sung their songs in the trees top overlooking a garden and the fence. a kitten no older then 4 moons walk through the garden looking up at the trees. Jumping up on the fence the kitten looked over at the unkept grass that held secrets.
Just one day! That's all it want. The kitten thought to himself.
" What are you doing? Don't you remember what happened to your bother, don't you Rust?!" a black and white kitten hissed from below the fence.
Rust tried to ignore the kitten below him but he knows it was unless. He hopped down and walked away
" Of course I remember Tiny. I have the scars he gave me every time I tried to go into the forest. I was just looking." rust hissed back
A sound was coming from one of houses ahead of them. " Our house folk have food ready!" the kitten said
" Smudge I'm going in the forest tonight. I'll be back in the morning."
" What about food?"
"I'll catch a mouse I always wanted to know what they taste like." Rust meowed
" Henny caught one once, said it tasted like dirt." smudge said with a look at the bowl the house folk left out.
" Henny never tasted one! He's to lazy. See you later" Rust hissed as he jumped over the fence
" Be careful!" Smudge yowled after rust.
Leaves crunched under his paws, and the bell on his collar jiggled. Rust couldn't hear any movement. Dumb thing! He thought. Everything ran off and hid! But determined to catch some he pressed on.
after what felt like moons he heard something. Leaves being pushed around and the sound of very small feet. Rust angled one ear to the sound to pinpoint where they were coming from.
There! Must be a mouse! He thought.
He opened his jaw to let the scent flow through his body. There! Slowly Rust moves forward. Then something else sounded close.
Rust know what that sound was instantly. Paw steps! Rust jumped up ready to fight. He wasn't going to get beat by whatever this thing was.
Suddenly a body slammed into him. Claws gripped his far trying to roll him over. Hissed and snarling was all that could be heard.
Rust stuck out paw hitting his enemy dead in the face, Then jumped on the cat's back clawing without mercy. " Ow OwOw! Stop!" The cat Yowled
Rust didn't stop till the cat rolled over taking rust with them. " For a kitten you fought will! Can't say I'm surprised. all the scars you got over you, you must fight all the time". The cat who Rust finally got a good look at meowed. The cat was solid gray and looked not that much older then Rust himself.
" Thank I guess. My bother gave me the scars. Why did you attack me? I was about to catch a mouse". Rust hissed
" My name is Graypaw-"
" I didn't ask your name, Gray whatever! Why did you attack me?"
" Because you was hunting on our territory! ThunderClan Territory!" Graypaw snarled
Rust looked around." I'm sorry I didn't know. Who Thunderclan, Is there more of there clans? Rust asked honestly curious. Graypaw looked over his pelt over before answering.
"Before I answer, tell me how old you are?" Graypaw asked
" 4 moons. why?"
" I got beat by a KITTEN! Thistleclaw going to be furious." Graypaw meowed walking back and forth before continuing. " Now to answer the question. There are 3 other clans. Windclan territory is the hills over there." he mewed pulling with his tail to the left of them. " Rivenclan is behind us and Shadowclan is just across the road." he finished
So many clans! I wonder what they're like? Rust thought. " Tell me more about them!" He mewed
Before Graypaw could even answer his ears went felt on his head." I smell cats my leader and mentor! Leave now!" Graypaw hissed
Rust opened his mouth to smell better but smelled nothing but the grass they stood on.
Suddenly two cats step out of the bushes. One a blue-gray molly, the other a spiky gray and white tom. The tom looked at Graypaw and Rust with disgust.
Graypaw bowed his head and Rust acr his back ready for. For all he knows they were here to finish what Graypaw started!
