A finale click turned the screen off, leaving the room deathly silent. Said silence was replaced by the rhythmic taping of nail on metal, culminating in the sigh that bounced through the room. A second appearance of New Order, that's what the spy had told him. It was such an excellent opportunity, the kind he would have jumped at if he had retained his youth.

He had missed this quirk once before, the rise of All Might thwarting his every move and now, it was All Might who would deny him the power once again. Heavily, his fingers ran over the mess of lines that had become of his face, it was too late fix this body anyhow.

As usual for this hour, his thoughts were torn away by the ringing of one of the many monitors that surrounded him: "Good evening doctor." The man that appeared on the screen was short, with a thick moustache and a pair of gear shaped goggles.

"To you as well, master. The new batch of Nomu are of the quality predicted and the bodies you have provided are already being processed. Is there anything more you require of me?"

"Indeed" He smirked, perhaps he could make this work: "I'd like you to track down Cathleen Bate's relatives, find anyone with a power similar to her's."

"Oh, and while your at it, find any UA students who might possess One For All."

"Mirai Sasaki speaking."

"It's Yagi." Nighteye's posture stiffened, his neutral face curving down into a frown.

"Have you finally came to your senses about your successor?"

"It's... related to that." Mirai's frown deepened. "I decided to do some research into the previous users, I thought it would help me choose my own successor."

"And?"

"They were all killed by- well you know- all except one. The fourth had hid himself away from AFO, for around thirty years. He died shortly after he gave away the quirk, his death was from old age."

"Why would the third give the power to someone so old?" Something about this put Nighteye on edge.

"That's the thing, he wasn't old, he died at forty."

His eyes locked with Toshinori's, the tape already beginning to play out in his mind. Two figures, standing- no, floating in a sea of darkness. One was blonde, tufts of hair flowing in random directions. The other, hair white as snow, panted heavily. The tape skipped, fading as time went on, by the end, only the blonde figure was left, writhing in pain as they were consumed by their own power.

"My vision. You think One For All will kill you when you face that villain. But that wouldn't make sense, you've had the quirk for longer than the fourth and now it contains more power. That would mean..."

Tufts of hair flowing in random directions. Tufts, not two- but eight. "My successor. It wasn't my future you saw, it was One For All's. You witnessed its death, not mine."

"That user was powerful, I couldn't see clearly enough to tell how, but they were. Combined with the hair style and height..."

"Yes." His old friend spoke solemnly: "In the future, I'll give Cathleen Bate One For All, and when I do, she'll die."

"-and thats not to mention his support gear, he doesn't know how to use the grapple and the gloves he gets his name from are far too flimsy for his quirk. I think if he-" Izuku's mumbling was broken by the giggling that had slowly grown from the currently visible girl in front of him.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Toru continued to laugh despite her statement. "It's just that you're so enthusiastic about what you enjoy, it's... cool."

"T-thanks, though you're also really enthusiastic about stuff." Toru had insisted he go with her places when she was visible, so he ended up learning quite a bit about his energetic classmate (friend? He wasn't sure if that was the right word).

"I guess." She shrugged in an over exaggerated manner. "I've got to be, comes with the whole invisibility thing... but that's a boring conversation!" She jumped out of her seat, already beginning to drag Izuku out of the cafe they had stopped at. "Come on! I know this place that does super good fish, it's cheap to!"

By the time he had caught up with Hagakure's excited speech (was that how he looked?) she had already dragged him into the building. Not that it was a bad thing, Aunt Cathy always said he should make friends.

"You join us at Hosu city hospital-" A reporter spoke from the TV in the corner of the small shop. "Where the Punch Out hero: Little Mac has been rushed to the ER after an attack by the Hero Killer. Doctors state his condition is critical and it is unlikely he will make a recovery. This marks the highest ranked pro the man has ever attacked, leading many to question what will happen if the Killer decides to target more than just heroes. We'll be back with an expert's opinion, right after this break."

"Izuku?" It was rather late now, he was honestly surprised by how much he had lost track of time, especially considering the recent news. He had texted his parents, though the only reply was a winking face from Dad, which told him precisely nothing. It was probably just that though, nothing.

"Yes?"

"Did I ever thank you for the help with my quirk?"

"Yeah, a lot actually." A smile crept over her face at that, at the sight of it, he couldn't help but smile as well.

"No, I mean like actually thank you."

"I'm not sure what you mean."

She tilted her head, attempting to find how to word her thoughts: "For a while I thought I was okay with my quirk. That I'd be fine with never being seen, but other people didn't care what I thought. I wasn't bullied that bad, most of the comments were probably unintentional, but it wasn't enjoyable. It's great being visible, your help has made me realise that, at the same time though, sometimes it's nice not to be noticed. There's a balance there somewhere, one I've not quite found yet." Her teal and yellow eyes shined as she looked toward him: "You've helped me get closer to finding that balance, so thanks!"

"Now hurry up, I'll race you back to my street!" She sprinted off, a stunned Izuku stumbling after her.
