After Erik was picked up by his parents, they immediately wailed and once again thanked every deity for making sure that their precious boy had not been hurt by that fiendish villain, before naturally becoming enraged and terrified when Erik told them about what he did, it was quite mess of reactions from his parents.

His father was stern and appalled while his mother was raging and fearful, both upset that Erik had made such dangerous decision which could have easily had ended with him being killed or someone else being killed, once Indeedee and his father managed to calm down his mother, they made it clear that they understood why he acted, but he could have been hurt if not for the Pokémon there.

They also made it very clear that he was not allowed to do it again until he was in hero school, he was also not allowed to train for a few days as it was clear he was getting ahead of himself with his dream of becoming a hero. The family instead chose to focus on the two newcomers that Erik had gained after his experience with the villain, Annabelle was naturally surprised and pleased to see Shuppet floating alongside her son while Vincent was marvelled by Golett and examined the small automaton, the pair also thanked the two Pokémon for protecting their son.

After that, Erik used his Pokéballs to capture both Shuppet and Golett, making him giddy as he almost had enough Pokémon to be a functioning team, while he could include the Pokémon he gave his parents, he'd rather not take them, but that left him with no more Pokéball left, a fact that made him realise his first issue, that he had no means of producing Pokéballs. He had to ask Rotom how this could be remedied and to his relief, he had the solution as he revealed that with his data was the schematics for how the Pokéball was created and Erik knew that should he hand these to the school then they could make some for him.

Erik decided to move onto something more pressing, designing his hero costume and he decided that it was best to try and make a draft and based his outfit on the costume of The Phantom because he loved the way it was designed and the black would help with stealth.

However, he also decided to change a few things, removing the cape before he decided the masked needed to be different, add his own flair to it by mimicking the hood Mimi gifted him long ago, it was a white mask with swirls that would allow his pupils to be seen and ending at the cheeks creating a zigzag that looks like a toothy smile.

Erik had to admit, it was fun to relax and not be as focused on his hero dream as he had been, it was also nice to design his costume with his family, his mother helped point out some designs while Mimi really liked the mask.

The years seemed to melt by as Erik took his preparation for getting into U.A, so much happened over the years as he grew, one of the first things that came to mind was when his father and he went to a gym to train, although when he walked in, it looked more like a mash up of a dojo and boxing gym. After being let into the main training area, the mixed theme followed as half the room was burnt red with inspirational graffiti on the walls while the other was clinical blue and had inspirational quotes, although what Erik would never forget was the two imposing people standing in the centre. The first was a woman who wore a wine red shirt along with a pair of black dungarees, her hair was the colour of lava and flowed like it as well, her stance was one of immovableness and yet her eyes shone with a passionate fire that could not be extinguished. The second person was a large man, he stood a head taller than the parents that were present, he was bulky but it was clear that there was power beneath the surface, even though he a short-sleeved t shirt, his presence was like an apex predator lurking in the sea, the inly thing Erik chuckled at was the strange curl of his ponytail.

Erik would come to know them as his Sensei Kaji and his Sensei Baburu and he would never regret the day he became their student, both had a passionate energy that seemed infectious as Erik and the others got more excited for each training session as time passed. Although Erik did find it both baffling and amusing to watch their passion cause them to butt heads, from what he gleaned from other conversations was that the two had been rivals at some point and were always at each other's throats until they decided to form the gym.

The thought of rivals turned Erik's train of thought to something else, his fellow students at the gym, specifically two who Erik has come to know well, a blonde boy his age whose quirk gave him a tail, Ojiro Mashirao and a orange haired girl whose quirk gave her the ability to grow her hands to giant size, Itsuka Kendo. When Erik met them, he was rather nervous as he always struggled to befriend kids his own age, it did not help that the first thing asked was about his mask which he wore out due to nerves, but the relief he felt was so sweet when they accepted his explanation, in fact it was easy to talk to Itsuka and Ojiro.

Together, the time that passed was some of the happiest of Erik's life. After school he would head to the gym and train alongside his new friends and study hard under his new teachers, Erik had never felt his passion burn brighter than it did in these moments. His parents had taken notice and often commented with pride about how much he grew, although his mother was more interested in teasing him about Itsuka which flustered Erik to no end, but it was nice to live like this.

That was why Erik had decided on inviting his new friends over, it was very last minute as Kaji and Baburu had cancelled the day's training for some reason, the trio were disappointed and tried to think of something to do and Vincent had not left yet, so Erik asked if they could come. When they arrived at his home, Erik was reminded of a little detail he forgot to mention to them as when he opened the door and Phantump leapt at Erik, the pair immediately screamed in surprise and Erik had to calm them down before he explained about his Pokémon. After they got used to all of his family, it was a really good time. He blushed as they saw his room and both his friends were mildly freaked out by his obsession with the theatre, but they admired his passion.

"Konrei, we want a word."

The gruff voice of Baburu broke Erik from his reminiscing as he became aware of where he was once again, he turned to see his two teachers standing with the door to their office opened, Erik turned to Itsuka whom he was just talking to and shared a confused look, he shrugged before addressing them.

"I'm coming, Sensei."

Erik swiftly walked into the office, a place he had not been before and almost smirked at the design of the office as like the rest of the gym was a clashing of red and blue, but the stern faces of his teachers made him nervous, he could not think of a single reason why they would both need to speak to him, he worried he unwittingly broke a rule, fortunately, the silence was broken.

"Would you like a cup of tea?" Baburu offered

"Or would you like an iced coffee?" Kaji also offered, Erik blinking at the opposing drink choices before politely refusing.

"Now, Konrei, first, we just want to say that you are not in trouble, I can see you are worried it might be that." Kaji said in a gentle tone, Erik felt a weight come off his shoulders and he let out a sigh of relief that prompted a chuckle from Baburu and the mood quickly lifted.

"Yeah, we just want to talk to you about something, but it would be a mistake to not commend your progress, Konrei." Baburu commended with a proud smile which Kaji replicated.

"You have done really well, you and Kendo and Mashirao have done excellently in your training, with your hero training, U.A won't know what will hit them." Kaji commented which made Erik sit a little straighter as he allowed himself to feel proud about his hard work, he and his friends often drove each other to their limits.

"Speaking of your hero training, normally, we asked for the restriction on Quirk use as you know." She continued, reminding Erik about their rule.

He nodded as he remembered the first day he came here for training, the two teachers were adamant that their students were not allowed to use their Quirks during their training sessions and the uproar it caused from some of the parents and students, so much so that the three of them were the only students left, when Erik asked his teachers about the rule before their unified answer surprised him. Quirks are an extension of yourself, while they can be trained like a muscle, you must have days to work on a set of muscles before you have another day for the other set of muscles, so while they did not allow you to train with your Quirks during their sessions, they insisted you practise on your own time as to help you grow and it worked rather well, even with Ojiro's mutation as he alternated between body training and combat training.

"We think something is present with us here and maybe it's a Pokémon as we can't explain what it could be." Baburu explained.

"I haven't seen anything in the gym, where and when do you usually sense this presence?" Erik asked, speaking for the first time during this exchange as he was curious, his Quirk meant that he would have seen a Pokémon running around if it was inside.

"You are right, it's not in the gym, we have a small courtyard in the back where both of us like to train, but anytime we do, we sense something is watching us." Baburu explained further, before a look of realisation dawned on him.

"Actually, I usually feel it when I am trying my hardest in my fight training, it's the same for you, Kitsuri, right?"

Kaji took a second to think before a similar look dawned on her and she nodded, the pair then looked back to Erik.

"What we think is that you, Kendo and Mashirao go and train in the courtyard and you have permission to use your Quirks, but only this time." She told Erik who nodded, feeling a sense of excitement build up inside.

He soon left the office and was positively beaming, he could not wait to tell his friends the news, not only could he potential meet a new Pokémon, but they also got to train with their quirks, his mind raced as he pondered what kind of Pokémon it could be, due to its sneaky nature there was a chance it was a dark type which he noted may be a problem if he had to battle it as his Pokémon were ghost types, but there was also a high chance it may be a ghost type due to the unseen nature, he even considered a ground type as it could be a curious pack of Diglett.

"Erik, you okay, what did they talk to you about?" Came the concerned voice of Itsuka which quickly brought Erik out of his thoughts, he went a little red from embarrassment as he lifted his mask to talk more clearly.

"They said we are all doing really well and they even asked me to check in the courtyard about a potential Pokémon, the best part is we can all train there with our Quirks!" He said with excitement and by the look growing on Itsuka's and Ojiro's faces, they too were excited.

Without another word, they started to head out, Erik quickly went into his bag and pulled out Rotom who was glad to see his user, sharing his enjoyment of the new Pokémon they can register, the two quickly joined Itsuka and Ojiro outside and they all got ready to have a practice match, Erik had Rotom hide in a corner where he can catch an image of the Pokémon and so he would not be caught in the fight. They all got into position and got ready, Erik knew he was at a disadvantage but Quirks were allowed and that allowed Erik to smile with pride as he held out his hand and just like they practised, a Pokéball appeared in his hand, courtesy of Rotom.

"Time to battle! Let's go Golett!" He cried as he opened the Pokéball and with a flash, appeared the small automaton Pokémon, his opponents almost fell back at the size of their opponent.

When they were first told about the Pokémon and how Erik had them fight, they were shocked and a little disgusted, thinking it cruel to force weak little things to fight, that was until they watched Phantump train in the woods and baulked at the power these creatures had, after hearing their enthusiasm via a translation from Rotom, they felt less uneasy about the idea. Although looking at Golett who got into a fighting stance with his small stone fists raised, they could be forgiven for wanting to take it easy on the little guy, and unfortunately, they hesitated which Erik saw, instantly.

"Golett, quick use shadow punch on Itsuka!" Erik ordered, seizing his chance, as well as trying to get used to the feeling of fighting a person for once.

"Golett!" He roared as spectral energy formed around his fist before Itsuka could react, a shadowy fist shot forward, she tried to block, but it was too late as it struck her across the face.

Erik flinched at the blow, feeling bad for attacking his friend, but judging how quickly she recovered, he knew she was okay.

Ojiro leapt to attack as he swung his tail at Golett who blocked the attack with surprising ease, Ojiro quickly jumped back as he analysed the situation, while he was not trying his hardest to hit Golett, the way the Pokémon was completely unaffected which spelled trouble.

"Ojiro, we need to attack together, Golett can't block both our attacks, Erik will be left open." Itsuka stated as she got into stance, Ojiro quickly joined her while Erik got into his own fighting stance as he knew it was needed.

"Golett, focus on Ojiro, use Shadow punch!" Erik commanded as he dodged an enlarged strike from Itsuka.

Golett hesitated at the sight of his trainer being under attack, but did as he was told after blocking another attack from Ojiro, with a groan, the shadow energy formed around his fist again and launched it at Ojiro who tried to block only for it to vanish as it struck him, not damaging him at all. Erik would have gawked at this in shock, if he was not doing his best fight Itsuka, he thanked Kaji and Baburu for their fight training as he managed to handle his own against his orange haired friend, Erik knew that with her Quirk, she would easily sweep the floor with him and win the practice match, but it also gave him a distinct advantage as he stayed close to her. It was a gamble that paid off as Erik kept Itsuka on the defensive with each punch thrown, staying in her personal space, so she could not use her Quirk as much, but he knew that he had to keep the pressure constant as he kept thrown attack after attack, otherwise, Itsuka would find a flaw and force him out of her space.

"Not bad, Erik, you've trained well, but I can see what you're trying to do!" Itsuka stated before she blocked one of his punches with one arm and quickly stuck her hand between them and activating her Quirk, her hand grew into a gigantic size and Erik was sent back, giving her some distance. Erik was about to order Golett to switch opponents when he heard a small ding, he knew what that meant and his curiosity grew immense as he turned around and froze in awe.

Time slowed down as he stared and saw, there standing in his shadow was a Pokémon that he had never seen before, it was smaller than Erik and looked like a short person, the wispy horns on his head curled and resembled a helmet, these wisps formed a shadowy collar around its neck and bumps on its arms that mimicked Erik's fighting stance, it's red and orange eyes stared back at him in clear shock and surprise when it realised that Erik could see him, the boy felt his heart beat as he stared at this Pokémon, he could sense power radiating from it, it kept his body frozen and drown out everything else.

That included the giant hand of his friend/rival who had not noticed her friend was not paying attention, the blow sent Erik flying off his feet and snatched everyone's attention, his two Pokémon cried out in shock and rushed to his side as he shook off the unexpected blow, Itsuka and Ojiro quickly joined them and checked to see if Erik was okay, he sheepishly tried to reassure them that he was okay when a pair of footsteps came toward them and the three students looked up at the intimidating sight of their teachers.

"So, care to explain what happened?" Kaji asked with a sharp smile that terrified the youths.

After a heavy scolding for being reckless during their practice bout, both from Itsuka not being careful using her Quirk and Erik leaving himself so open during a fight, the two teachers then asked Erik and Rotom if they managed to find any clue on what was giving them the sense of being watched while they trained and Erik was excited to tell them the news and turned to Rotom for details, but to his surprise, his faithful Pokémon looked ashamed with himself as he told him he could not help.

"What's wrong, Rotom?" Erik asked as he patted his friend who looked distraught.

"Nzzt, I managed to take a picture and scan the Pokémon, but I couldnzzt find any information on it, that has never happen before, zzt!" The Poképhone wept as he showed Erik the incomplete entry, it showed an image of the strange Pokémon, but there was no information about what it was, where it was from, all Rotom could get was its height and weight.

"It's okay Rotom, maybe it's a rare Pokémon, like you told me once, a legendary Pokémon?" Erik said gently as he tried his best to comfort the upset Pokémon, it seemed like his words had an effect as Rotom suddenly straightened up.

"Nzzt! User Erik, You are right while I have data on most Pokémon, for Legendaries, I can only go off stories about them, but my data would have filled in the dex, if that was the case for this Pokémon…aha! Zzt!" Rotom perked up as it processed the information and determined what was likely the case.

"Nzzt! It must fall under a Mythical Pokémon!" Rotom declared as he got excited at this bit of news, Erik was glad that Rotom was not as down as he was before, but he was confused at this news.

"A mythical Pokémon?" He asked aloud, sharing a confused look with everyone present.

"Nzzt! They are Pokémon so rare and reclusive that almost no one has ever heard of them, an example would be Mew, who is believed to be the origin of all Pokémon, sightings are so rare, many question its existence!" Rotom explained happily as he showed Erik an image of a stone tablet with a Pokémon carved on it. It was like a cat with a long tail, but he was more excited and intrigued by the fact that he was face to face with something so rare.

Thus came the end of another day in Erik's life as he and his friend left the gym, Itsuka insisted on buying him a treat to make up for the accident, but Erik waved the offer away and said it was water under the bridge, but he did remember to ask Ojiro about the fight with Golett, who was now resting in his Pokéball after making sure Erik was alright, when Ojiro told him what happened, Erik could feel his pulse quickening, he came up with a theory and if it was true then his journey to be a hero was going to be even harder. Then again, he was ready to take on the next challenge, to achieve his dreams and to join his friends, he would face any task that came his way, especially with his Pokémon by his side.
