Harry and Holly didn't meet their younger cousins until dinner. The American Potters had a massive number of children and many branches. Some of the children were of varying ages and were either in the manors, the teenagers were attending Ilvermorny, or they were attending the other major American magical school, Salems, while others were attending the American magical equivalent of primary schools.

Miranda took them to what she called their new bedrooms, and the moment the two siblings saw them they were stunned. They had had a room back in Privet Drive, a tiny, pokey little bedroom that Dudley had used to store his old, disused junk, but these rooms were bigger and grander than them combined. They had massive beds, desks and bookshelves and they had ensuite bathrooms.

"These…are our rooms?" Harry asked.

"They're huge!" Holly added.

Miranda looked down at the children. "Don't you like them?" She asked, almost hurt.

"No, it's not that, it's just we're not used to such large rooms," Harry quickly said.

"Will we be allowed to sleep with each other?" Holly asked innocently.

Miranda choked up. She hadn't known the two children shared a bed, but she guessed it made sense. "Of course you can, honey," she said to the little girl. "You can both decorate these rooms however you want. They're yours now."

Harry looked down at Holly and shared a smile. They had both planned on eventually getting a place when they'd earned more than enough to live on, and they could get rooms of their own, but it had never occurred to either of them when they had decided to move to the MACUSA after they'd confronted their biological parents they'd get their own rooms.

"Thank you," Harry replied.

"Yes, thank you," Holly hesitantly twisted her hands.

Miranda frowned. "What's wrong, Holly?"

Holly looked up shyly, glancing between her and Harry, who seemed just as curious to know what was wrong. "I-Is it okay if we hug you? I hug Harry all the time, but the Dursleys always shouted at us when we did."

Miranda gasped, feeling her heart shatter into little bits when she heard that question, conjuring in her head Harry and Holly sharing a desperate hug, only for shapeless, formless, filthy No-Maj's shooting at them to stop. "Of course you can, you don't have to ask."

Holly smiled, and she hesitantly wrapped her arms around Miranda's waist. Miranda smiled and hugged her new adopted daughter gently. She opened her arms. "You can join in, too, Harry."

Harry stepped forward hesitantly and he wrapped his arms around her. Miranda held both children, wishing she had the time and the energy to pay a little visit to the Dursleys and kill them. She had always been neutral about No-Maj's, but right now she wanted to kill them all and fuck the consequences. What kind of people would do that to children?

But she had never before been so disgusted by members of her own distant family. What the hell had convinced Lily and James to just suddenly turn their backs on their own children like that, it was just so sick and disgusting. But what made it worse was they had tried to justify themselves by believing Harry and Holly were safe. Safe? Where in the name of Isolt Sayre, did they come up with that stupid belief? Surely they knew if they had bothered to check on their children they would find they were anything but safe.

Miranda was not sure how to help Harry and Holly, but right now they had all the time in the world. "Listen, tonight, all of the kids will be coming for dinner. Are you okay with that?"

When they had heard Harry and Holly were leaving Britain, the decision was made to have a welcome to the MACUSA party to make them feel more at home after taking into account what happened to them, but now Miranda was not sure if it was a good idea, but it was too late to stop it from happening. Marcus, Helena, Robert, Matt, Sarah, Penelope, Nyota, and Krystal were all attending Ilvermorny and Salems, and Isaac and Jasper had needed to ask permission for them to come to the dinner.

Miranda only hoped Harry and Holly were not overwhelmed.

Holly perked up, "Will there be kids there?"

Holly's desperation broke Miranda and Harry's hearts. "Of course, sweetie," Miranda said.

Harry bit his lip as he struggled to hold in his jealousy. He had no right to feel jealous of his new aunt. For such a long time he had been the only one whom Holly could depend on, but now he had these strangers and he had to fight the urge to throw them away, especially after seeing how easily Miranda had wormed her way into Holly's heart.

Neither Harry nor Holly had much in wizarding clothes, but they'd bought a few outfits from Diagon Alley before their confrontation with their parents. They weren't sure if their American family would fully expect them to wear such clothes or if they expected them to wear muggle-NO, No Maj clothes, they had to remember that this was a different country.

In the end, they decided to dress in their No-Maj clothes, with Holly wearing her cat shirt, and Harry just wearing a simple dark green shirt and jeans, and he just hoped for the best.

Fortunately, Miranda, Isaac and Jasper smiled and welcomed them in and they met their younger cousins for the first time in their lives, and very quickly both Harry and Holly discovered while dark hair was typical of the Potter family, there were others. Jasper had a wife, named Kathryn, who was an older blonde-haired woman. They had several children and even a granddaughter, who was as blonde as her grandmother. Her name was Lorelei Potter, and she was the same age as Holly, roughly. Very quickly, Lorelei and Holly hit it off and they soon began playing games together, with a host of other children; there were a few blondes, dark-haired boys and girls of various shades, and there was even a girl of North American Indian descent, called Rhea, and there was a child who was either Chinese or Japanese; very soon Harry had picked out their parents.

"Hi," Harry turned and he found himself looking at a boy and a girl with dark skin, and blonde hair bangs mixing with black.

"Hi," Harry replied. "I'm Harry."

"We know. I'm Scott, this is Clara," the boy introduced.

"Nice to meet you," Harry was unsure how to speak to them. After he had spent so long trying to keep away from Dudley, the last thing he'd expected was to meet a cousin who was actually nice. He had believed he would sooner see pigs sprouting helicopter rotors, or sitting on broomsticks perfectly before that happened.

Dinner was an amazing affair for the two siblings because they had never had a dinner as equals. Harry had been forced to terrorise the Dursleys until they finally accepted the fact Harry and Holly were magical and abuse would not be tolerated. But here it was different. The Americans welcomed Harry and Holly warmly.

Holly, being younger and more sheltered than Harry, was overjoyed at finally being accepted by kids her age. Harry was the opposite. He had been humiliated as a child by Dudley and his friends, and more than a few other kids. He had realised he should never trust anybody, but seeing his sister and hearing her sweet laughter, seeing her smile… a part of him was jealous but at the same time he was sad, angry at the childhoods Lily and James had denied them for so long. It took a while, but eventually, Harry's distance from the others fell away, and he began interacting with the others but he was still guarded here and there.

He wasn't completely opening himself up like Holly was, but he kept an eye on the others while he spoke to everyone, asking questions such as when he spoke to Helena and Penelope. Helena belonged to a branch of the family where the girls attended Salems traditionally. Penelope attended Ilvermorny. Both of them answered some of Harry's questions, like what the schools were like, what the Houses were like, and so on, but he also asked what their families were like, only for them to introduce them.
