Chapter 11: Encounter with the Church
/Okay, so I now know thanks to a comment that there are only 12 king pieces in existence, and 9 were stolen. Since I went into this with the mindset that king pieces are common, and had characters react as such, I hope you all don't mind if I do a bit of continuity changing right? All that I will change is this: king pieces are common, as every peerage has one, however they are all much weaker versions of the original 12 king pieces that were created. How's that sound?\
Sunlight floods into the house of the Demon/Devil hybrid peerage.
Gohan gets up and looks around taking a moment to realize where he is. 'Oh right.' He thought, remembering what has happened.
He gets out of bed and walks downstairs. He finds that everyone else is awake and Colton is cooking breakfast.
Colton noticed Gohan up and proceeded to panic. He immediately used magic on the already cooked food. The food then multiplied all over the counter.
"Gohan. Your food is ready." Colton said.
Colton then finished cooking the rest. "Our food is ready!" He called out.
Colton had decided that if he was gonna keep everyone fed, he'd have to use magic to multiply the food he makes.
Later, everyone was ready for school.
They had gotten to the front gate.
"I'm very nervous." Ravel admitted. "I've never been to a school before."
Koneko then put a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry. Just stick with me, and you'll be fine."
Rias had made sure, thanks to Colton's input, that Ravel would be in Koneko's classes.
"Yeah, it is best that you stick close to Koneko. The majority of the male students here are known to be a bit... what's the word?" Colton said.
"Perverted? Deplorable? Outright disgusting?" Koneko suggested.
"Let's go with that. Anyway, if they try to approach you in a way that makes you uncomfortable, makes sure that Koneko knows so she can knock them out." Colton said.
"I better get going. I do have to get ready to teach." Gohan said as he walked in.
"You ready?" Colton asked Ravel.
"I-I'm not sure." Ravel hesitated.
Colton then placed a hand on Ravel's shoulder. "I'm sure you will be okay. Just stick with Koneko. I'll see you at lunch okay?"
Colton then walked away, as Ravel was blushing.
Koneko noticed the blushing. "You like him don't you?"
Ravel then blushed harder. "N-no!"
"Don't lie."
"Okay. Yes, I like him. But I have to try and get rid of these feelings since he's already with you." Ravel said.
"Tell me. When did you develop feelings for him?" Koneko asked.
"They have slowly built up once I met him. And when he saved me from having to suffer through my brother's actions, that's when they fully developed."
Koneko then nodded. "Alright. I don't mind sharing him."
"Huh?!" Ravel exclaimed.
"He IS royalty. Royalty can have as many lovers as they want. Plus, I trust you." Koneko explained.
Ravel then smiled. She hugged Koneko, Koneko hugged back.
The two then walked into the school.
Later, once school was over for the day, Colton, Koneko, Ravel and Gohan were all heading towards Issei's house as Rias instructed that they'd be meeting there for the day.
Once they got there, they knocked. The door opened and Issei was in the doorway. He let them through.
Once they were inside, they took a short look around.
Later when everyone was gathered, they started the meeting.
It didn't take long for the meeting to steer way off topic, and for Issei's family photo album to be taken out.
Colton and Kiba were both looking through the same album when something caught there eye.
"Hey, Issei." Kiba called.
"Yeah?" Issei asked.
"Can you tell me about this picture?" Kiba asked.
"Oh, sure. That's me and my old neighbor. We used to be close friends. I don't remember their name, but I do know that they moved away when I was young." Issei explained.
"What about the sword in the background?" Colton asked.
"That... I remember them saying something along the lines of it being a family heirloom."
Kiba then got up. "Thanks for the explanation. I just remembered that I had something to do. I'll see you all tomorrow."
Kiba then left.
Colton looked at the picture, looking right at the sword. Gohan and Ravel walk over.
"Something wrong?" Gohan quietly asks.
"The sword in the background. It's a Holy Sword." Colton quietly explained.
"Oh my. That's definitely concerning." Ravel said.
"Kiba seemed to also recognize that it's a Holy Sword." Colton said.
"Hey." Asia spoke up, getting everyone's attention.
"Yes Asia?" Rias asked.
"Should we go see if Kiba is alright?" She asked.
"No." Colton said. "It's best to leave him alone. The thing about guys is that when something comes up that upsets us, during the first day or two, we don't exactly want to be bothered by anyone. I'm sure he'll be fine in a few days, then we can ask what's wrong."
"...Alright." Asia hesitantly said.
Everyone then began to continue talking, but with less enthusiasm as they were worried about Kiba.
Colton, Koneko and his peerage all got home.
As Colton was getting ready to prepare dinner, Koneko and Ravel walked up to him.
"Hey, Colton." Koneko said.
"Yeah?"
"Ravel here wants to tell you something."
Colton then turned to Ravel. "What's up?"
"I- I..." Ravel tried to say, but couldn't find the courage to speak.
Koneko then put an arm on her shoulder. "It's okay. Just tell him."
Ravel then took a deep breath. "I- I love you!" She shouted.
Gohan peaked around the corner with a surprised look, before going back to what he was doing before.
Colton was just silent with shock.
He looked at Koneko who gave him a nod and gestured over to Ravel.
Colton then approached Ravel. "I... I uh... I had no idea you felt that way." He admitted.
"I started to feel this way when you saved me from my brother." Ravel explained.
Koneko then spoke up. "I'm okay with sharing you. She can be in this relationship too."
Colton then started to blush.
Ravel walked up. "May I?"
Colton slowly nodded.
Ravel walked up and pulled him down to her level. She then kissed him on the lips.
Colton was in a moment of shock before kissing back.
"I may not exactly be good at this type of thing, but I will take all of your feelings into consideration." Colton said. "Will you be my second girlfriend?"
Ravel then hugged him tight. Colton was immediately winded by that. "Yes! Yes I will!"
As Colton collapsed and his two girlfriends were helping him get back up, Gohan just watched them in the background. 'Young love.'
Later once everyone had eaten dinner, and were getting ready for bed, Ravel joined Colton and Koneko in their room.
They had fallen asleep with Koneko on his right side, and Ravel on his left.
Gohan took one good look at the sleeping lovers before smiling and heading off to bed.
The next day, everything has gone normally, except for Kiba still acting off.
They all got ready to hunt down a stray.
Everything had gone smoothly, until Kiba was too distracted and didn't follow a command, leading him to almost get injured.
Gohan had taken out the stray before it could do anything else.
Rias then walked over to Kiba and slapped him.
"You disobeyed an order. You could've gotten hurt." Rias said.
"But I didn't." Kiba countered.
Rias then sighed. "I worry about you okay? You, along with everyone else, are like family to me."
"...I understand." Kiba said as he walked away.
Colton then walked up and put a hand on Rias' shoulder. "I'm sure that he'll be back to normal soon."
Colton then walked out with Koneko, Ravel and Gohan in tow.
The next day, Kiba had not shown up to school at all.
Once school was over, Colton was walking to the ORC building.
On his way, he noticed three figures in white cloaks.
"And to what do we owe the pleasure of three members of the church to visit this territory?" Colton asked.
The three of them turn around in surprise. Two of them appeared to be shorter than Colton, by an inch or two, while the other one appeared to be taller than him by a few inches.
"Surprised that I know your members of the church? The cloaks give it away." Colton said.
"Are you a member of the Gremory peerage?" The tallest one asked.
"I am. Now, tell me why you're here." Colton responded.
"We wish to speak to your master." The taller of the other two said.
Colton stayed silent, observing them. "... Very well. Follow me."
Colton led them to the ORC building and walked in, with the three church members following.
Everyone else of the two peerages, besides Kiba, were already gathered there.
"We have guests." Colton said as he walked over to the couch that Koneko and Ravel were sitting on. Colton sat between the two of them. They then moved closer to him, before they both leaned on his shoulders.
The other peerage members were previously told of the update in the relationship.
The three church members then take off their hoods.
The tallest of them also appears to be the oldest. She has medium length blonde hair tied in a ponytail, and blue eyes.
The one in the middle in terms of height has blue hair with a green streak in it.
The shortest of the three has long orange hair tied in a pair of pigtails.
Once Gohan got a look at the oldest of the three church members, he got a strange feeling in his chest. He could feel that his heart skipped a beat. 'What is this feeling?' He thought to himself.
"Rias Gremory. We have come to talk." The blonde haired woman said.
"May I know your names?" Rias asked. "It's only fair."
"Very well." The blue haired girl said. "My name is Xenovia Quarta."
"I'm Irina Shidou!" The pigtailed girl said enthusiastically.
"My name is Jean Gunnhildr." The woman said.
"For a name that sounds very German, it's interesting that you speak perfect Japanese." Colton observed.
"I'm able to speak fluently in a lot of languages." Jean said.
"Now to why we are here." Xenovia said. "Recently, a few important artifacts of ours were stolen by a group of fallen angels, and intel has lead us to believe that they are currently hiding in this territory."
"May I ask just what these artifacts are?" Rias asked.
"Pieces of Excalibur." Jean said.
Everyone's eyes widened.
"One of the most famous holy swords. Pieces of it are here? This is very concerning." Colton said.
"Indeed." Xenovia agreed.
"So why approach us?" Rias asked.
"All we ask is that you remain neutral to this matter." Irina said.
"Why not ask us for help? I'm sure that with more people, the search could go faster." Ravel suggested.
"As if we'd team up with devils." Xenovia said, narrowing her eyes.
"Well that's racist." Colton mutters.
"Anyway, we ask that you remain nuetral and not join either side." Xenovia continued.
"Are you implying that we would team up with the fallen angels?" Rias asked, narrowing her eyes.
"They are in possession of holy swords, as devils, you are naturally weak to anything holy. Teaming up with the fallen could guarantee the destruction of them." Jean explained.
"We will not team up with the fallen." Colton said. "They are our enemies as well, and due to recent events, we get along with them even less."
"What he said is true. You have our word that we will remain neutral." Rias concluded.
As the three were walking out, Xenovia turned to Asia. "Aren't you Asia Argento?"
"Y-yes." Asia responded.
"Oh yeah! Your that witch who got outcasted for healing a devil." Irina said with a bit too much enthusiasm for a sentence like that.
"Tell me. Do you still have faith?" Xenovia asks.
"C'mon Xenovia, of course she doesn't. I mean, she is a devil now after all." Irina stated.
"A-actually, I do still have faith in God." Asia said as she flinched a little.
"...Then you wouldn't mind if I executed you right here."
Issei was about to get up and shout something, but Colton beat him to it.
"Now that's just not fair." He said. "If anything, you should focus on the bigger target."
"And what would that be?" Xenovia asked.
"Me." Colton answered.
"And why is that?"
Colton then held up a magic sphere filled with demonic energy. "Because I'm the prince of all demons."
The three took a step back.
"I thought that the Demons died out a long time ago!" Exclaimed Xenovia.
"Oh, believe me. We are still thriving. Now I'm sure that you church members view the 'evil demon prince' as a higher threat than a girl who got outcasted for doing what she felt was right." Colton said.
The three church members then draw swords from under their cloaks.
Xenovia and Irina had two of the other pieces of Excalibur.
Jean had a sword that Colton didn't recognize.
The sword had a green blade, and a golden handle. The sides of the handle were designed to look like wings, in a way.
"What sword is that?" Colton asked, pointing at Jean's weapon.
"This is known as the Sword of the God of Freedom: The Skyward Blade. This is a holy sword just like Excalibur." Jean explained.
"Well, it doesn't matter if you have holy swords or not. Now, who am I gonna fight." Colton said with a determined look.
"A fight? I'll join." A familiar voice said.
Everyone turned and saw Kiba in the doorway.
Kiba was staring at the Pieces of Excalibur.
"Who are you?" Xenovia asked.
"Your senior." Kiba responded.
Kiba then drew his sword. He pointed it at Xenovia.
"I'll fight you. And I'll make sure to destroy that sword." Kiba said.
"So which one will I fight? You or you?" Colton asked, pointing at Jean and Irina.
"I'll fight!" Irina said.
"No, Irina." Jean interrupted. "He's a member of the Demon Royal Family. That's too high of ranking for you to be able to handle. I'll fight."
Issei then got up. "I'll fight her then!"
"Issei. That's going to be a strong no." Colton said with a deadpan look.
"Why not!?" Issei complained.
"We all know that if we let you, your just going to use that reverse Clothes Beam technique of yours and disintegrate her clothes. I'm still mad about that." Colton explained.
Irina immediately put her arms around herself, blushing in embarrassment. "No thank you!" She said.
Issei then sat down, dejected.
Everyone then walked outside.
The fighters get ready and get into open space.
Xenovia and Jean throw off their cloaks to reveal battle attire.
While Kiba and Xenovia have their fight, Colton focuses on his fight against Jean.
Jean rushes forward and attempts to stab Colton.
Colton dodged with speed that Jean was not expecting.
Colton then fired a Ki blast at Jean.
Jean used her sword to deflect the attack.
Colton then got an idea. He jumped up and used Ki to fly.
Everyone who wasn't aware of Ki looked in shock, Even Xenovia and Kiba.
Colton then spread his devil wings and surrounded them with Ki.
Colton flapped his wings, sending out two large Ki waves.
Jean jumped back to avoid them.
Colton moved very fast and appeared behind Jean.
He then fired a magic infused Ki blast at Jean's back, sending her forward.
'His magic seems off. Those attacks didn't seem like magic, and he's moving faster than I thought.' Jean thought to herself.
Jean then charged in and her sword began to glow.
She swung the sword early and a lot of wind erupted from the blade.
The wind caused Colton to be knocked off balance.
Jean them took that opportunity to try and aim for a vital area.
Colton noticed this and immediately put up a Ki barrier.
Jean's sword struck the barrier, sending Colton flying back.
Colton dropped the barrier, showing he's unharmed.
"What!? How did you not get hit!? The holy properties of the Skyward Blade should cut through any unholy magic." Jean exclaimed.
"That's because I wasn't using magic." Colton said.
Gohan then had a proud look. 'I taught him well.'
This information shocked everyone except Gohan, Koneko and Ravel.
"If you didn't use magic then how!?" Jean asked.
"Life energy. Also known as Ki." Colton explained.
Colton then decided to use the technique that Gohan taught him. The technique that was taught to Gohan by his father, who was taught by his master.
Colton brought his hands together in a cupping motion, bringing them to his waist.
"Ka!" Colton began.
A blue ball of Ki started to form in his hands.
"Me!" Colton continued as the ball began to gather more power.
"Ha! Me!" Colton said as the ball was close to full power.
Jean decided to rush in to try and stop what Colton was doing.
Colton then brought his hands forward. "Ha!"
The blue ball then turned into a blue energy beam.
The beam flew right at Jean, causing her to have to go on the defensive.
The blast consumed her as she gave out a cry of pain.
Colton then directed his hand upwards as the blast then flies up as well. The blast flies up into the upper atmosphere.
The smoke that resulted from the blast cleared and revealed Jean on her knee, exhausted and covered in bruises.
Jean tried to get up, but she couldn't find the energy.
Kiba and Xenovia took the opportunity to finish up their fight.
The clash resulted in Kiba taking a lot of damage and losing.
Xenovia was about to go for a final attack when Colton fired a one handed Ki beam at her without looking.
She noticed the attack and jumped out of the way as it curved up and flew into the atmosphere.
"He's already lost." Colton said.
Xenovia then lowered her weapon as Colton lowered his hand.
Asia took that moment to run over to Kiba to heal him.
Colton then walked over to Jean.
Jean noticed and braced for an attack.
Colton stopped and held out a hand.
Jean looked at it confused.
"What? I'm not going to hurt you." Colton said.
"But, your the Demon Prince." Jean said.
"So?" Colton asked.
"..." Jean then accepted the hand as Colton helped her up.
"I think your problem is that the church has taught you that both demons and devils are inherently evil. That, however, is not true." Colton explained.
Colton then turned to leave. He then stopped and looked at the 3 church members.
"We may have agreed to stay neutral, but that doesn't mean we can't extend our hospitality. The three of you can stay at my place for the time being."
The three church members then look at each other, seeming to have a silent conversation. They all nod and began to walk towards Colton.
"Thank you for your hospitality." Jean said.
"Your welcome. Oh and before I forget. Ravel! Can you heal her please?"
"Okay!" Ravel said as she ran over.
Ravel then extended her hands as a light green fire flew out of her and to Jean.
All of Jean's wounds were healed.
Koneko and Gohan then also walked over.
Everyone then started to walk away.
On their way, Gohan took a look at Jean for a moment, getting that same feeling from before. He quickly looked away.
Jean ended up glancing in Gohan's direction.
She takes a good look at him while he's not looking.
Her face heats up as she looks away.
They all get to the house and walk inside.
The three members of the church look around the place.
"This looks... relatively normal for the home of the Demon Prince." Xenovia commented.
"It's so that I can blend in with the mortal realm. Anyway, I'm going to go cook dinner." Colton said as he walked to the kitchen.
The three church members explore the house as Koneko, Ravel and Gohan all sit down in the living room and began to relax.
Around 20 minutes later, Colton called for dinner.
"Alright. I got two tables worth of food here. Gohan, make sure to eat slow this time since we have guests." Colton called.
Everyone gathered at the table. They all sit down as Colton brings out plates of food for all of them. He then goes back and comes out with a large stack of plates, placing it in front of Gohan.
The three church members looked at the stack in surprise.
Gohan was about to grab a few plates.
"Oh, no you don't!" Colton scolded. "We have guests."
Gohan then only one plate and grabbed his silverware.
"Jeez. I get that your Saiyan cells make it hard for you to control yourself when it comes to food. But, c'mon."
"Sorry." Gohan said, rubbing the back of his head.
The three church members look on in confusion, before they could ask what he meant, Colton spoke up. "Don't worry, the foods not poisoned or anything. Eat up."
Everyone else began to eat, leading the three church members to slowly start to eat as well.
They take a few bites and realize how good the food was.
"This is... heavenly!" Xenovia said after a few moments.
"This is so good!" Irina exclaimed.
Jean said nothing as she silently ate with an amazed expression.
She saw that she was being looked at before clearing her throat and wiping her mouth with a napkin. "The food is satisfactory."
Everyone could see that she enjoyed the food more than what she was trying to let on, causing Gohan to laugh a little at the situation.
Jean immediately blushed in response to Gohan's reaction. 'Wait... why am I blushing?' She asked herself.
She then covered up her face with the napkin.
"Looks like you all enjoy my food." Colton observed.
"How do you make it so good!?" Irina asked.
"Practice." Colton answered.
Colton could see that Gohan was having trouble using a knife, due to him only having one hand.
Gohan then put down the knife and surrounded his hand with Ki.
He then lightly chopped through the food, cutting it perfectly.
Colton then rolled his eyes before using his static ability.
Once the static cleared, all of Gohan's food was all cut up.
Gohan gave him a look of appreciation.
Once they were all done eating, much to the disappointment of the three church members, since they found the food delicious, everyone was getting ready for bed.
The three church members all had their own rooms, and each individually got ready for bed.
Colton settled down in bed with his two girlfriends at his sides.
'Things are getting serious. Holy sword pieces here, in Kuoh. If those pieces are combined, let alone all pieces, then it might spell the end of us. As the Prince of all Demons, it's my duty to make sure those swords are never united, even if it means breaking them.'
