Lesson 5-A: Satan

Cats

Kagome had always and would always be an animal lover. Growing up she had Buyo, and over the many years of her life she had various pets ranging from cats to dogs and everything in between, including those of the demon and angelic variations, yet as she opened the door to her apartment she couldn't help the small whine that escaped her pink lips.

"Satan...I swear to God..." When she had left this morning for her part time job she knew for a fact that she only had two cats. One was a black and white one, a year or so old and the other was a full black elder cat that he had brought with him when he had showed up a month ago...so why in the hell were there three new kittens, as well as two adolescence ones lounging on her couch which also held a reading Satan.

He arched a fine brow at her over his book, amused at her choice of words...if only she knew of his ties to said God. Though he mused he had never told her and honestly since he was born of Lucifer's hatred for said God that would make God his grandfather and that was an odd thought to process so he instead decided to not waste anymore time thinking about it.

"What?" He didn't even bother to hold her gaze as he let the word fall from his lips, his eyes returning to the sentence he had been reading before his little human had returned home from her pointless job. He didn't know why she worked, she had enough money saved up from her long life and while he often made her pay for his stays when he was in the human realm he always made sure her finances were okay before he returned to his home in the Devildom.

Feeling a headache start to bloom she kicked off her tennis shoes, her feet aching, as she made her way to stand by her overly plush couch to glare down at him, her hands on her hips. "Don't you 'what' me...why do we now have seven cats...hmmm...when I left we had two...two!" She stressed the number.

He merely grunted and flipped the page of his book. "Seven felt like a better number?" He didn't even try to make a better excuse and it made her eyebrow twitch.

"How...ugh you know once you go back to the Devildom I'm going to be stuck with all of them!" She was not the kind of person to just kick them out once the one who brought them home left, she would keep them until they wished to leave or time stole them from her. It was who she was and it was a part of her that endeared her to him, not that he would ever tell her that.

"I'll send child support." She snorted at him as she flopped onto the couch next to him, getting a few glares from the older cats as the kittens curious about her began to climb over her, scenting her and demanding her love and attention. "Not the point you jerk..." She gave a small smile as he let out a grunt at being called a jerk.

"Kagome they're just furry babies...didn't you break into the Devildom for the soul of a human child...hm? Almost cost me my job and station as a demon lord...hmm..." She deadpanned at him as he threw that in her face again yet merely bit her lip, she knew bickering with him would get her nowhere instead she busied herself with playing with the kittens, using the ends of hair to tease them with. "Yeah, yeah...no more Satan I'm serious unless you're planning on staying to help me with them until the end no more!" She missed the way his eyes seemed to light up at the idea before quickly returning back to his book.

That wasn't such a bad idea...he wondered how mad it would make Lucifer if he disappeared for ten or twelve years, to a demon that was nothing...it would be a nice break. He would ponder the idea more later, for now he wanted to finish his book and enjoy the sound of mewing kittens and Kagome's bell like laughter.
