Justice Across Space and Time: Year 2

Chapter 14

Okay this chapter will be the start of a long set of flashbacks. I want to detail more of what happened during the time Justice was gone. As well as giving some details on why the number one from the USA is there with him. I'll just bold when I want Justice to describe what happened, but otherwise it'll read roughly like normal. So, on with the show.

(No POV)

All of the teens were shocked to see not just John, but the strongest woman in the world in the 2-A dorm room. And it was more enjoyable for certain perverts, given Star and Stripe was currently just in a bathrobe.

'Why is it just him?!' a few shouted in their minds while their noses bled. For the returned student though, he was less amused. "Alright Kate you had your fun. Please don't do that," he said while gently moving her arm from around his shoulders. The hero had a laugh before saying, "they made it just too easy. Especially these two girls and Whoa!"

As she was speaking, both Itsuka and Sahiraah pounced on John. First kissing him and then slapping him. "OW! Okay you're clearly back to normal. Or at least your kind of normal. What's going on?!" Itsuka asked while shaking her hand from the pain of striking her….. boyfriend? 'No. Not right now. I'm too mad for that,' she thought as John chuckled.

Izuku shook out of shock to ask the same question. "And um….. It really is an honor ma'am! Can I get an autograph!?" Izuku asked while holding out one of his notebooks to Bates. Who looked at it funny before grumbling and signing the page Izuku had opened.

"I told you it'd be the second thing he asked." John said with another chuckle. After she finished signing, Star sighed and pulled out a twenty from her robe. "Yeah, yeah, you were right," she said while pouting a bit. Of course, pulling that out sent a few others over the edge again. Nosebleeds sending both boys and girls backwards.

John facepalms and takes the moment to remind her to put some clothes on. Sahiraah let out her own angry breath before asking, "what the Hell have you been doing for the last few months?" The brickhouse hero takes a moment to lean back before saying things had become complicated.

"Obviously I had that warning from Asmodeus and the other demons. At the same time, I was worried about what the LOV and Forgotten had stolen from me. Just one of those energies could be devastating. So, I felt I needed to go out and find out more. As well as recovering the energy if I could."

(Flashback four months prior, Justice narration in bold)

"Not long after I hijacked the plane Nezu had arranged for me, I landed in a small south Asian country. I'm used to traveling, so it wasn't hard to blend after I ditched the plane." John adjusted his pack after getting out of the plane. Avoiding the heroes and authorities swarming about the craft. The young man narrowed his eyes at the group before heading into the city itself.

After converting some of his money, he bought some clothes and melded into the crowds. "Gotta get closer to the rougher sides of town. That's the best place to listen in on trouble. Especially if they think I'm nothing but a drifter," he muttered to himself while making his way there.

Once there, he settled into a few patterns to keep track of the local crime groups. Providing some information to shut down some of them and follow the trail he was after. Though it came with having to move to another country. And another. And another. "I found out where some of the canisters that held my energies were. Though it took over a month and hopping between six countries to find one of my old power sources. In the strangest of places."

John looked around Lulka and then up towards the Himalayas. "What could they possibly be trying to do with the energy they stole from me up here?" he asked while making his way to the south base camp of Mt Everest. Shaking his head that the area was still a hotbed for those looking to scale the highest peak in the world. Though there were also those who were willing to shortcut by employing certain quirk users. Which helped John in learning more about his quarry.

"A group who wanted something big brought to the top? Yeah. Two days ago. Not sure what it was about but they had me take up some big box while they climbed along," a large man with clawed hands said. John narrowed his eyes before giving the guy some cash for the info. 'Not what I wanted to hear,' he thought while looking up at the top of the mountain.

The young hero stocked up on supplies and started his climb up Mt Everest. While it would usually take weeks to make the climb, let alone the dangers, John was able to make use of his ki connection to expedite it. Mostly by making large leaps that would take careful maneuvering, enhancing his body to circumvent the exhaustion and low oxygen conditions, and punching into the sides of the glacier walls.

It still took him 10 days to reach the summit. "Okay…. Finally got here and…. shit." John said upon seeing the set up that the apparently villains had built atop the mountain. Let alone the number of others they had killed to keep what they were up to a secret. "I'm no genius like Sahiraah, but even I could make out what some of the equipment would be used for. Namely, the laser emitter. Powered by my gamma energy."

"Gotta keep out of sight until the right moment. I'm not invulnerable right now." John thought aloud while sneaking along the rocks and snow of the peak. There seemed to be a few on lookout duty, but they had expected climbers to make it up the usual way. Since he had come up a different route, they weren't looking for him.

He made his way to the few tents they had set up and found the plans for the laser system. "Okay how cliché can you get? A laser built atop the tallest peak and threatening multiple regions with devastation if they don't comply," he said while looking at the scripts that had been written.

"It won't work right away. But they'll believe when we finish our first attack," a voice said behind John. He grunted before turning around slightly. A large man was behind him with a gun to his back. "Well at least you aren't trying to intimidate me with a quirk." John said while putting his hands up.

The man grumbled and admitted his quirk didn't have that type of capability. "I can just hear really well for about 100 yards. Can't do much more than eavesdrop," he said while directing the young hero out of the tent. Who noted that he really shouldn't have been talking to himself.

At the console area of the laser emitter, was a man who was adjusting the commands and codes. He looked over John with a confused but critical eye. "Who are you? You're not just another climber," the man asked before refocusing on the console. The young hero narrowed his eyes before saying it was complicated.

"About like this whole set up. What are you hoping to achieve here?" he asked while subtly drawing on some ki for his moment. The man looks back before saying they would prove they had true capabilities. "We all have weak quirks and were told we had no use. Even in the fields we chose to focus on. So, we'll show them all with this operation."

"Yeah, my face was fairly flat upon hearing that too. Not that I didn't get what they were talking about, but it still doesn't help in the larger scheme. Luckily though, he didn't recognize me."

John saw his moment as the laser was charging up and preparing to be bounced from a handful of satellites that the scientist had hijacked. As it was readying to fire, the young hero took a page out of Itsuka's book and made ki blades along his arms. Cutting the ropes holding him and slicing a gun that was at his back. Mostly.

'Did more slashing smash attack than a real slash. But it works,' he thought before knocking around a number of the villains with his fists. Then blasting some of the supports and tents away with his Gaia Waves and Storm Fist attacks.

"What?! How are you doing this?!" the lead villain asked before adjusting his glasses. And firing a weak beam of energy from his eyes. Though it was amplified by his glasses, it was still outclassed by John charging up a strong Storm Fist. Knocking the man flat and back to his console.

A few other villains try to jump the hero while the leader drags himself to start the firing sequence. "Shit! What are you thinking?!" John asked while Rampage Straight punching a small dog quirk user away. "Even if I can't attack everywhere, I can still hit some locations! Namely the source of modern Hero Society!"

John's eyes widened before he was tackled to the ground. Not only could he guess, but the readout made it clear. The first target was UA High School. The young man takes a breath and causes a ki burst to push his aggressors away.

'Damn. No choice. This is gonna suck,' he thought while looking at the power source of the laser. The energy field that was stolen from him and contained in a large power cell. John ran at the cell while building up his power. Even as other villains tried to intercept him, he knocked them away as he charged up his best Rampage Straight.

Though it ended up impacting on a woman with a shield quirk. She started to celebrate as she saw the energy dissipate from John's hand. Only to see him winding up for a new attack. That being his Cross Cut kicks that sliced into the shielding of the power cell. As it started to explode, John grabbed the woman and threw her away. While taking the full brunt of the power.

"No! That's pure nuclear energy! It'll take us all out!" the leader shouted in fear as the explosion happened and the energy started to flow outward. His men running to avoid the backlash of the power involved. They were all shocked though when the power seemed to reverse and flow back into the energy cell.

Or more accurately, John was pulling as much of the power to him as he could. Straining to pull it to him. 'Haven't had to do something like this for a long time! Damn I'm rusty!' he thought while charging himself up with nuclear energy. Once he does though, he can already feel the effects.

His coat and shirt were torn away, and his pants were somewhat in tatters, but it didn't matter. John Svoboda was standing tall. His eyes glowing white as he turned towards the villains. This shocked his foes and more of them started to run as they now recognized who he was.

"Why the Hell is the winner of the UA Sports Festival here?! And what was that power before?!" the leader said while subtly looking at his laser. Noting that it's still got enough power to fire. It just needed to fire the primed shot.

Justice took a breath before saying, "that power wasn't one I was born with or one that awakened later. That was something I trained to become capable of. The power of ki." He was focusing as best he could on the situation in front of him as his senses were being super enhanced by his power. 'Lucky we're far enough from civilization. Still gotta be careful though.'

The villain was impressed and wondered if he could learn the same skills. "Would you have the capacity to learn? The capability to look beyond what you've been told all your life?" Justice asked while making his way towards the villain's voice. While he was saying he could try, he then noted that it wouldn't matter soon.

"In the next few seconds, your school will be gone. So perhaps you could teach the others then. Goodbye!" the leader says before firing his eye beams and pushing himself backwards. And right off the edge of the mountain.

Justice doesn't have enough clarity to try and save the man, and now he realizes more of what was going on. Finally calming his mind enough to sense the energy that was about to be fired from the laser.

He unleashes a shockwave punch to redirect the beam, but it's too late. The laser fires right before being impacted. "Itsuka! Sahiraah! Izuku. No. I won't let them!" John says before leaping with as much strength as he can muster. Venting and then flying with all his current speed to get ahead of the beam.

All the while, being bombarded by the ambient energies in the upper atmosphere. Finally reaching the point of the energy blast as it was reaching the top of the Thermosphere and into the Exosphere. John started screaming in pain from both the energy of the weapon, as well as the forces bombarding him. But he managed to absorb the power and save UA from the villainous group's attack.

Now though he was dealing with the less filtered radiation as well as his senses being uber empowered as he was floating above the planet. "Have to…. Get to ground…. Level. Before I go…. Insane again!" John muttered out while trying to focus on any place to land and keep from killing anyone. Finally cursing and just doing towards the planet as fast as he could.

His body burned as he hurtled towards the ground, but the bombarding by the various energies beyond the planet were no longer assaulting him. John finally finished his decent and impacted on the ground.

But that wasn't the only thing he impacted he would find out a few seconds later. As John was catching his breath, he suddenly heard the clicking of multiple gun safeties coming being switched. He could smell the burning of metal, gas, and some munitions nearby. And could feel numerous bodies around him.

One though stood out. She stalked toward the crater John had made and called out to him. "So how the hell did some naked kid end up crashing into our base like it was nothing?" she said while cracking her knuckles and looking down at the young hero.

Star and Stripe introduce herself before asking John to identify himself. Once he did, most of the soldiers stood down. "One of the first quirkless or rather true metas who are attending classes as heroes. What the Hell are you doing here?" she asked while being surprised.

"Obviously, my story from the top of the world was pretty insane. But she was willing to believe it after some of the spy satellites were checked and they saw the wreckage of my fight. I didn't exactly have my papers anymore, but they were able to confirm things. And that all led to more challenges for later. Buckle up. There's more story to tell."

So I hope this wasn't too jarring for people. I wanted it to be like a lightly narrated flashback compared to one where it's just me writing the scenes in bold to signify it's a different time. Please review and if you don't like this style I won't continue it. But if you do but it needs some work, maybe leave some suggestions.
