Hadley Kinneth- In Your Hands D6F

I was currently in the front lobby. Does that mean I'm already at the feast? Does it only count after it starts? When does it start?

There was a light rumbling underneath me. Several floor tiles slid aside to reveal tables rising from the gaps. Each table was covered in bags of various sizes. Some had names written on them, but most of them were blank. Guess that's the start…

I walked in between the tables, checking for my own name. I was scared to stick around for more than a few seconds, so when I didn't see one right away, I slid as many bags onto my arms as I could carry and slipped out the side door to either sneak through the library or ride things out from there, depending on how fast other people came.

Shinju Matushita- Heart of Darkness D3F

I really didn't want to go. It wasn't even the feast. It was just I'd felt like crap lately. I was really worried about whatever might have been in those beakers Mist and I broke. I just could not get enough water in me lately. I had an aunt like that and it turned out she was diabetic. What a stupid, anticlimactic thing to put in the arena.

Jessie Cabello- A Night To Remember D2F

Really? I'm one of the first ones here? It sure seemed like it. The tables were still overflowing with bags. I could only see a few missing. Probably a couple of the outlier loners had gotten here first and hadn't wanted to press their luck. Keeping my eye on all the doors, I picked one of the bags and reached inside it. My hands closed on a gun.

Okay then, I thought as I pulled out the handgun. It was an old-style revolver, probably just so I would know how many shots I had without checking and maybe accidentally headshotting myself. I felt an almost manic excitement at the idea of blasting whoever came through the door next to Kingdom Come. Then my better judgment objected. Everyone around would hear the shot. They would know I was here and what exactly this feast was about. So I did the smarter thing and hid behind the front desk, which had a tiny gap I could peek through to see who was coming. I'd wait until the crowd was thick to pick my targets. If I played my cards right I could take out multiple threats in seconds.

Sofia Ferrari-A Night to Remember D6F

I was surprised I even made it this far. I'd thought I'd get found and killed on the way. Instead I made it to the feast, and it was empty. It didn't stop the sudden and very intense sensation when I entered the room, like someone was watching me. I looked around but didn't see anyone. Surely they'd come kill me, right? Just take a bag, I told myself. Once I got to the table, I snatched one bag in either hand.

Someone is definitely watching me! I thought as I ran for the door. It wasn't something anyone could explain. It was just something small, vulnerable people had to make them just slightly less vulnerable. I got out the door and the feeling stopped. It must have been a false alarm- just paranoia, right? Why would anyone let me go? But it had certainly felt like someone was watching me.

Cierra Daline- Back to Normal D2F

I was disappointed to see the room was almost empty. At one table there was the mousy girl from Nine. At another there was the even mousier boy from Four. They both looked up at me like deer in headlights. Neither was much of a trophy, but the boy from Four was closer. He was untrained, if I remembered. No glory in that, then- I'd make it quick.

The boy yanked his hand out of the bag he'd been rummaging in. It came out holding a green egg-looking thing. I realized, in a dreamlike blur, just as he pulled the pin.

Cloey Daleigh- Circle of Life D7F

I fell sideways, catching myself against the wall, at the deafening noise and sudden shift underneath me. Clearly the fight was on, and they weren't messing around. No use trying to put it off… I ran down the hall and rounded the corner to see a gaping hole in the wall. Bits of paint were scattered throughout the lobby.

My stomach turned, ears ringing, as I processed the truth. From the corner of my eye, I saw movement and whipped my head around. It was like the hand grenade had rocketed things into a higher gear. Jason was running up the stairs towards the open wall. Between him and me, there was Elissa. She was already aiming at me.

Wyatt Sparks- Over and Over D3M

I hadn't promised Dominique I'd be back. I'd seen way too many movies. Really I should have let her go. She was way faster than I was. I was a little stronger, though, and to be very brutally honest with myself, I was the smaller target. She was really fast. I was only a little strong.

From what I could make of the maps on the wall, there were a lot of halls leading to the front lobby. I'd picked a smaller one at random. Surely it was all a roll of the dice anyways. I walked past the eerily quiet exam rooms on the way to the lobby. It must have been lucky for whoever had been hiding there. Through the door ahead of me, I could see the battle was already raging. I'd gathered as much from the cannons. Margo was chasing after someone I didn't recognize. Her back was to me, though. Maybe I could sneak in for just a second and then flee.

An arrow flew out of the darkness to my left, threading right between my ribs. I coughed as I fell to my knees. Emma appeared in the doorframe, looking down at me. I looked over at Margo inside the room.

"I know, right?" Emma said as she knelt down to grab my collar. I couldn't even move to fend her off- whatever she'd coated the arrow with had already paralyzed me. "One person per alliance." She yanked me into the room behind her. "But I noticed something. It just said 'at the feast'." She waved her hand just in front of the doorway. "It didn't say anything about right outside."

Emma bent down to wipe my blood from the ground. As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I saw Jacquard lying nearby. I guess I should have promised I'd come back.

Ferrari Benz- Into Thin Air D6F

It was chaos. Beautiful, beautiful chaos. Jason and Elissa were brawling on the floor. Wangari was fleeing in a teary, coughing fit after Maxson had pepper-sprayed her. Tyler ran up behind Jason and stuck a chainsaw into the back of his head. Really that one was on Jason- how do you get snuck up on by a chainsaw? Then again, the ear-piercing siren someone had set off in the middle of the room wasn't helping things.

I really, really wanted to join in, but I'd promised Katrina I'd be in and out. I grabbed a bag in both hands and booked. On my way out, an arrow flew past my ear from one of the exam rooms.

Cheater, I jeered, hiking my bag up to protect my head until I got around a corner. Only then did I allow myself to peek inside the bag to prevent death from curiosity.

Aw man… It would have been so much fun. It would have been so much fun to wreak havoc in the feast with a handheld flamethrower.

Arleen Limera- Res D1F

Arrows and spears were flying past me every which way. I promised, though. I promised I'd get Majesty something good.

On one of the tables, something caught my eye, even in all the ruckus. It was my name, marked onto one of the bags. I ran that way, but then I noticed Majesty's name on another bag. That one was better, I was sure. Majesty deserved for me to grab his bag. And then I couldn't stay to grab mine. Someone might get me and then Majesty wouldn't get his prize. So I ran for the hole in the wall.

I didn't even see Lyon before he hit me. Before he literally hit me, with a baseball bat. It cracked against my ribs and I fell flat on my side, but it felt weirdly soft, like a whiffle bat. I didn't know what to make of it, but I got up and ran. Lucky me, I guess.

Jayla Dean- A Night To Remember D3F

It was too much blood. No one could lose that much blood and live. Havelock hadn't had time to finish me off before he had to defend himself from his own attackers, but he didn't need to come back. I couldn't even feel the slash across my chest anymore. I could only feel the warm blood.

My head drooped to the side. I saw Shinju. She was hiding under one of the tables. She was staring at me. I thought it was fear in her eyes, but it was something else. Fear, but also confusion, and something haunted and mesmerized.

She crawled out from under the table toward me. I couldn't imagine what possessed her to leave cover like that. Was she actually going to help me? She drew herself up beside me. Her head jerked a few times. Her mouth cracked open I saw saliva glittering on her teeth. She folded over onto me and bit directly into my wound. I felt her tongue sliding on my flesh, and then slurping piglike noises. Her chest heaved as her fingers gripped into me. Then, mercifully, there wasn't enough blood anymore.

Perfecta Flawless- Killer Vacation D1F

My name stood out bright red on one of the bags. I felt a flash of gratitude for the Capitol. They had their problems, but it was nice of them to bring something just for me. I opened the bag and found a set of body armor. So far I hadn't needed it, but it was nice to be prepared.

The arrow punched into my back as I was unzipping the kevlar vest. I turned around in shock and saw Elissa already aiming at someone else. In the back? Even a Career knew that was dishonest.

I was still looking at Elissa when Lottie tackled me. And two at once? I couldn't win if everyone ganged up on me! They must have known I was too good to beat. This was the only way they had a chance.

Volvo Courvaile- Child's Play D6M

I stared up at the ceiling, unable to put thoughts together. It had been crazy, but at least everything had made sense. Then someone had… unleashed a tornado? I was still trying to put it together. My thoughts were all hazy, like they were water leaking from a cracked bucket. Concentrating, I managed to put together a fuzzy image. It was a woman. She was wearing a red helmet. She was impossibly thick, like she was wearing a dozen coats. And she was running right at me.

Richard Franklin- Swing Vote D5M

I'd never seen anything like it. The woman was a juggernaut. Lottie was unstoppable. She'd run into the room like a fabric-draped rhino, armored in one of those skull-fracture helmets I'd worn once after a stunt gone wrong. She took an arrow to the leg within seconds and didn't even notice. There was a throwing star still stuck in her shoulder when she picked Anjou up and threw him like a frisbee straight into the glass window of the gift shop. He smacked wetly off the thick glass and slid to the floor, bent in a visibly fatal way.

I almost felt chosen, somehow, when her eyes landed on me next. Maybe I could have gotten away if I'd run immediately. I was frozen in the face of her power. She grabbed me in both arms and lifted me over her head like a trophy. She threw me into the same window. But Lottie didn't know I was a circus performer. I twisted midair, going limp at the right moment and angling myself to sort of roll off the glass and absorb the blow with my midsection. It hurt, but I landed on my side and got up.

"Hah!" I said, pointing triumphantly at her. Then I cleared out. No use tempting fate.

Linden Anderson- Descent into Madness D9M

I was throwing open a bag when movement above me, from all places, caught my eye. I looked up, dodging to the side and throwing my arm over my face. A ceiling tile slid to the side and a hand reached down from the ceiling. It pulled back and the tile slid back into place.

I had to admire it. The hand could only have been Emmeline's, and only she would figure out such a smart way to "attend" the feast without any danger. She wouldn't get any supplies, but I doubted she needed any.

My body jerked backwards at sudden crushing pressure at my throat. I tried to slip a hand under the wire and only managed to get a deep slice across my fingers. The wire ground in deeper until I felt it against the bone. My throat, which had already been giving, popped wetly as the cord cut through something vital. I went from strangling to drowning as blood flooded into my throat. The pressure didn't let up, though, and it wasn't drowning that got me. It was near-decapitation.

Lily White- Into Thin Air D11F

No one seemed to notice me. Arrows and spears were flying everywhere, but it didn't seem like anyone was paying particular attention to me. I certainly wouldn't if I was one of the stronger Tributes.

Maybe it was dumb, but I decided to take a chance. I darted in and snagged a bag off the table, turning to run even while I was grabbing it. I got out the door without anyone even looking at me.

Later, when I was safely tucked away in a room in the reflexology department, I looked inside my bag. It was a flashlight. I was a little disappointed until I read the text on the side. CROWD CONTROL FLASHLIGHT. SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE CAUSES TEMPORARY BLINDNESS. REPEATED OR LENGTHY EXPOSURE WILL CAUSE PERMANENT VISION DAMAGE.

Juniper Triton- Swing Vote D4M

I'd just thrown my triton at Artemis, narrowly missing when she moved unexpectedly. Something told me to check my flank and when I did, my heart stopped. Jessie was standing across the room behind a desk, pointing a gun right at my forehead. I saw her eyes narrow. Then her arms moved to the side. I looked over just as she shot Havelock, who was standing five feet away.

Well that's kind of demoralizing.

Lyon Cartier- The Poseidon Adventure D1M

At the sound of the bullet, everyone froze. The room, absolutely cacophonous a moment ago, went silent, or it would have if the siren hadn't kept shrieking. Then, Castiel turned and walked out of the room. Right away I knew I'd underestimated him. He'd calculated he wasn't the target and used the Careers' paralysis to simply leave, leaving the bags behind to not make himself worthy of shooting. Some of the other outliers followed suit, some even bold enough to grab a bag on the way out.

Jessie looked around the room. Her arms shifted as she turned to point her gun at Elissa. It was a good choice. Elissa used ranged weapons, and that was always a threat. Jessie shot, and missed. The bullet punched a hole in the wall four feet diagonally upward from Elissa. Elissa immediately bolted for the nearest door. Jessie shot again, trying to adjust to the moving target, but the bullet went wide.

Three… I counted.

As though she knew she only had a moment more of advantage, Jessie turned abruptly and shot at Makara, who was far closer to her. The bullet grazed her cheek, spraying blood but not putting her down. She dove under a table and low-crawled toward the door on the other side.

Two bullets left, then. We all waited to see if she'd take the risk. Two bullets had a good chance of putting one of us down. One… not so much.

Jessie slowly advanced to the table and grabbed three bags, keeping the gun trained in our general direction. She backed close to the wall and started to step sideways toward the nearest door. It seemed everyone had decided to let well enough alone, since no one ran at her and she didn't fire again. She disappeared down the hall.

By then, the only people left were me, Malcolm, Joseph and Artemis. We looked sheepishly at each other.

"Grab as many bags as we can and each take a different exit?" Artemis suggested. There was a round of shrugs and agreement. No one wanted the uncertain victory of a few kills when we weighed it against the danger and the possible long-term benefit of the bags.

"No one opens the bags until they're out. If anyone does, everyone else attacks," Malcolm said.

"Fair," Joseph said. I was a little surprised, but it went off without a hitch.

92nd place: Cierra Daline: Blown up by Soren

I did say the feast would have unusual prizes. There's far more to come, though I didn't have time to show everyone at the feast onscreen. In a Res Games, there are always some people who are doing really well then get hit with an unavoidable death. This time Cierra's number came up. I'd say she didn't disappoint Pray, though. You can't really punch a grenade.

91st place: Jacquard Crock- Shot by Emma

Jacquard actually got shot before Cierra got blown up, bit he died more slowly of blood loss instead of instant pulverization. Once I got the idea for Emma it was logistically unlikely she'd only kill one person, so I used Jacquard. Bummer he gets shafted, since his concept is so important, but I know Ferrari is more entertaining to Silver.

90th place: Cloe Daleigh- shot by Elissa

Cloe was a bit of a dark horse. She was strong and did well in her first Games, so she was definitely a contender. Had Elissa looked behind her she probably would have shot Jason as the bigger target, but that's the way the dice roll. It's unfortunate we didn't see more of her, though. She had a lot to give.

89th place: Wyatt Sparks

Here's the tough one. We were rooting for him! We were ALL rooting for him! But it kinda made sense he'd go. It's a very dangerous feast with a lot of huge players, and he's just Wyatt. A nice, funny guy, but not the kind that can survive this. I do wonder the legality of the marriage. Does Dominique inherit all his stuff?

88th place: Jason Lenn- Chainsawed by Tyler

I didn't write Jason down to kill. I just started the chaos in Ferrari's POV and it fit. I knew no one would miss him so why not get the first chainsaw kill in Games history? His was a worthy sacrifice.

87th place: Jayla Dean- honestly it was really Lyon who killed her

I was hoping I'd think of something cool to do with Jayla. She seems to just kind of be there in Games, despite her huge personality. I definitely want her next Res Games. She only died here because I needed more kills, not because I don't like her.

86th place: Perfecta Flawless- Shot by Elissa

Lottie's tackle didn't help, but Elissa's was the fatal wound. Perfecta was a Mary Sue, so we all knew she wasn't going to win. RIP Perfecta who could only be killed by two Careers because she's twice as good as everyone else.

85th place: Volvo Courvaile- Fatally bodyslammed by Lottie

Fear not, Lottie WILL feel the effects of those wounds. She's just not feeling them at this moment. Volvo just happened to be standing in her path. She bore him no ill will. This is another one of those deaths that really wasn't the Tribute's fault. Sometimes you happen to be in front of a rhino.

84th place: Anjou Corriente- thrown into a window by Lottie

RIP Anjou, who will be missed by almost no one. That's why I felt safe killing him so unceremoniously. We shall fondly remember that he did try somewhat to improve and was not as horrible as he once was. That's more than some people can say.

83rd place: Linden Anderson- Garroted by Malcolm

Probably most people were rooting for Linden to triumphantly get revenge on Vulpes. I thought about it, then decided to go the cynical way. I usually don't, so Linden can count himself as unique. He DID stop Vulpes from getting the bounty, since Vulpes wasn't hunting Jay while he thought Linden was.

82nd place: Havelock Grimm- shot by Jessie

And here's the heavy hitter death. Once Jessie had a gun, the choice changed from who I wanted to go next to who Jessie would think was the biggest threat. It's harder than people think to aim a handgun so he's the only one she got, but she did get this one. Bummer of a way to go for such an icon, but he'll be back, I'm sure.

THE BIG REVEAL: That mist that Shinju was exposed to? Well, well, well, doesn't fate just hate someone who tries to run away. She's a vampire. Some of you probably knew, since I always put references in my story. Robert Neville is not a conventional Capitolite name, but if you googled it, it's the main character of I Am Legend. The movie was a zombie movie, but if you checked out the book (a widely acclaimed classic that's far more philosophical than the movie) it was originally vampires.
