The Fast And The Noble
Disclaimer: I do not own Halo or Fast and Furious in any way, shape or form. They belong to their respective owners.
Azai Jin: You're welcome! And glad you're enjoying the story so far. There won't be any interactions between Six and Mia this chapter, but there will between Six and Mia.
Grudgematch: I'm glad, and no doubt. I can see Adam Smasher turning up later, mostly to give Six an enemy rather than David and the Edgerunners. Not sure about the others, we'll see.
marlastiano: You're welcome!
Gwynx: Thanks!
Krieger Techpriest: Just a subtle change that gives them a better life and hopefully fate than they got in the anime. And seriously, somebody needs to stop this damn man!
DeathCrawler: Then I hope this chapter does not disappoint.
Headreviewer: No comment, lol.
Edboy4926: Thanks! Well since there are Cyberpunk 2077 elements, I thought that I would add the Runners into the story, along with some characters from the game later on in the story. And since Six has changed David's life, Gloria probably won't be a EMT in this timeline.
War Sage: Thanks, and maybe. I just thought that I would make a change to Six's personality and since he's had ten years to come to terms with everything that happened and unlike in the Furious Wolf, he never returned to ONI and worked alone again after losing Noble Team.
He's a playa and he doesn't even know it...or maybe he does!
Sixfan29: Thanks. And might do. Thought about doing a Halo x The Orville and since it's a dramedy might have Six's personality be a little lighter...or have it where he's still as stoic as ever, not to mention a lack of social norms.
No doubt.
It's the Noble Team logo/emblem, not really sure how to describe it.
And he definitely more alive than he's ever been...at least since he was a kid on Jericho VII.
Master of the Underground: And yes, Six does own a ship. And we'll see. Letty and Mia will definitely be going into space into the future once they've grown closer to Six, but not for a while.
commanderstarscream123: Not a bad idea about a Mustang, we'll see.
Chapter 7.
The warm morning sunlight filled the master bedroom waking Six from his peaceful slumber. Slowly opening his eyes, he brought his hand up and rubbed the sleep from them before looking over to the bedside table and after focusing his vision saw that it was 06:34.
While he didn't need to be up or even at work for several hours yet, he saw no reason to go back to sleep now that he was awake. Sitting up, the covers fell to his lap revealing the muscular, but scarred body that had been hidden beneath, a permanent reminder of his past. Throwing the covers to one side, he swung his legs over the side of the king-size bed and planted his feet on the soft rug.
Pushing himself up, the dog tags around his neck clinked as they tapped against each other. Rolling his neck, he approached the large window and looked out at Los Angeles that could be seen from his penthouse. Looking out at the city that had been his home for the last decade, he felt a sense of accomplishment at the work that his employees had done to improve L.A. and the lives of the people that lived there.
Homelessness and poverty were at an all-time low thanks to their efforts and the various charity organizations that had been set up to assist with that. That being said, with the good came the bad. While there had certainly been many improvements made, crime had increased in the form of Cyberpsychosis. Not every person that suffered from Cyberpsychosis was violent, but that was typically what the media covered since being a kleptomaniac and/or a compulsive liar didn't draw people in.
Then there were the Cybersquads, a subdivision that was found across numerous Law Enforcement Agencies across the world that acted more like criminals than...
Quickly stopping himself before he started brooding, an old habit that occasionally surfaced from time to time, Six turned and headed across the room and stepped into the master bathroom. Stripping out of his clothes and placing them in the basket, he climbed into the shower. Closing the glass door, he turned the dial to turn on the water that cascaded from the overhead showerhead and washed over him; the cold water initiating the burns and scars across his body.
Feeling the cold water heating up, he pressed his hands against the white marble walls and closed his eyes as the knots unloosened and listened to the sound of the rushing water that filled the bathroom, the vapour steaming up the windows.
As the hot water washed over him, he let his mind wander a little. It had nearly been a week since he had taken Letty and Mia to Nobilis Speedway where they had met everyone, though they had spent quite a bit of time with Maine and the others with him and Letty getting along like a house on fire...much to the chagrin to Mia, mainly because she was butt of their jokes.
But he was glad that they both had the opportunity to unwind. Between Mia studying to become a doctor and nearly being killed by the woman that was suffering with Cyberpsychosis, she deserved to relax and kick her feet up. And not just her, but Letty too. While it was nowhere near as stressful as attending medical school, Letty was dealing with her own problems...a problem that he had inadvertently caused.
Like he had told Letty, it hadn't been his intention to cause problems between her and Dominic when he proposed that she go to college to certified; something that he was glad that she was doing. While his plate was already full with everything at the company, he had spent the week setting up the groundwork for the new mechanic program, her place guaranteed, along with several other promising applicants.
Once again, he thought about visiting Dominic in hopes of smoothing things over, but to be perfectly candid the more he heard about him the less he wanted to meet him. There was a good chance that everything had been taken out of context and he was only getting one side of the story, but he doubted it.
Perhaps he was being unfair. He knew next to nothing about him other than what he had been told by Letty and Mia. He might have just been under a lot of stress...still, that hardly excused his actions. While Letty might have acted like it didn't bother her and that she was going to college whether Dominic liked it or not, he could see that she was hurt that her boyfriend didn't support her.
He couldn't speak for the rest of her friends, but at least she had Mia that supported her decision to go to college.
Washing the last of the shampoo from his hair, Six turned the dial and turned the hot water off. Letting the water roll off him, he grabbed his towel and wrapped it around him before stepping out of the shower and walked over to the cabinet. Wiping his hand over the mirror to clear away the fog, he looked at his reflection to see a bit of stubble growing.
Opening the cabinet, he grabbed the razer and shaving foam. Closing the door, he placed both on the basin before turning the hot water and filled it. Leaving the razor in the hot water, he slapped a layer of foam across his scarred features. Waiting for a few minutes to allow the blades to heat up enough, he grabbed his razor and began his morning shave.
Shaven, and his teeth brushed, Six left the bathroom and headed back into the bedroom. Drying himself off as he stepped into the walk-in closet, he picked what suit he was going to wear before throwing the towel into the washbag and got dressed in a simple white shirt, black waistcoat, tie, and pants.
Fastening his tie and rolling the sleeves of his shirt up to his elbows, he made his way through the penthouse, passing the great room and headed into the kitchen. Walking over to the counter, he opened the cupboard and grabbed a mug. Placing it in front coffee machine, he pressed the coffee icon on the touchscreen display and watched as it powered up, the display changing with the message that it was preparing his drink.
Waiting for it to brew, he wandered over to the fridge. Opening it, he pulled out a few ingredients for his breakfast. Cooking being one of the many skills that he had picked up during civilian life; something that he was certain would shock the people that knew the old him...or would, damn time travel.
That and he doubted that the Reaper cooking breakfast would be a comforting sight.
Placing the ingredients on the counter, he walked back over to the coffee machine that had finished brewing his coffee. Picking up the mug, he brought it to his scarred lips with the aroma hitting his nostrils. Taking a generous sip, he savoured the taste of his morning brew before placing it down. Switching the oven on, he grabbed a pan and gave it a playful spin before getting to work on making his breakfast.
On the other side of Los Angeles, an alarm went off in a bedroom waking the two people that were sleeping in the bed. While one was used to it and slowly opened her eyes, the other voiced her displeasure by turning and grumbling into the pillow.
"Sorry." Mia whispered an apology as she leaned over the side of the bed and picked her phone up from the floor. Pulling the charger out, she tapped the screen and turned the alarm off.
"Can't you put that stupid thing on vibrate?"
Pulling the covers off her, Mia climbed out of bed. "I might not hear it."
"Shouldn't even be two seven o'clocks in one day." Letty grumbled into her pillow.
Mia smirked slightly. "You do realize that you're going to have to wake up around this time when you go to college, right?"
"You do realize that you're going to have to wake up around this time when you go to college, right?" Letty repeated mockingly into her pillow, definitely NOT being a morning person. "And who asked you?"
"I'm just saying."
"Yeah, well nobody asked." The Latina mumbled irritably. "And only morons wake up at seven."
"Aren't you awake?"
"Shut up."
Grabbing her clothes, Mia smirked triumphantly. "Enjoy your sleep." Quickly leaving the bedroom, she heard something hit the back of the door, probably one of the pillows, making her smile. Walking down the upstairs hallway, she made her way towards the bathroom to get ready for college.
Stepping into the bathroom, she locked the door before placing her clothes down. Walking over to the bathtub, she pulled the shower curtains around before leaning over and pressed the button for the shower. Hearing a beep, she quickly yanked her arm back just as cold water came pouring out.
Waiting for the water to heat up, she thought about everything that had happened and why she was currently staying with Letty. It had been nearly a week since Jericho had taken them to Nobilis Speedway which had probably been the most fun that she had in a while...even if it was a dampened a little between Letty and Maine teasing, something that seemed endless.
The teasing aside, it had been a great day. Between getting to know Lucyna, who preferred to go by Lucy, Rebecca, Dorio, Pilar, Kiwi, Maine, and David, the latter who definitely had a crush on Lucy and seemed to look up to Jericho quite a bit, and not just because he was taller. In fact, she could tell that the others did too. While they didn't exactly go into detail about their pasts, from what Dorio had mentioned Jericho had saved them all from their old lives.
Just another hint that Jericho was in fact Titus Noble; how else could Lucy be racing for Noble Industries and Maine and the others being her pit crew, helping them all turn their lives around unless he had the pull to do so...and who else could do that other than Titus Noble?
She had even been allowed to go out on the track with Jericho trusting her enough to give her the keys to his BMW. While she had been worried about damaging or scratching his car, not to mention the others since she had never raced around a track before, she like the others had only ever really drag raced before, circuit racing was an entirely new experience for her, but one that she found herself liking.
As would the others...which they could have done if Dom wasn't being a stubborn asshole. She hated fighting with her brother. He had always been her rock, but his words had really gotten under her skin. Which was why she had decided to stay with Letty for a bit.
(Flashback)
Parking outside the house instead of on the driveway, Mia jumped out of her Nissan and made her way up the steps. It had been around twenty minutes since Jericho had dropped them both off before leaving stating that he had things to do. While she hadn't known him long, he seemed a bit of a workaholic.
Reaching the top of the stairs, she opened the door and headed into the house. Peering into the front room, she found Dom and the watching the television with empty cans and bottles around them.
"You are coming home today then?" Dom voiced, not even looking at her as he brought the bottle of corona to his lips and took a swig.
Hearing his patronizing tone, Mia glowered at him. "Home? I thought this was your home, not mine; you made that very clear yesterday."
"If that's how you feel then what're you doing back here?"
Angry at first, Mia just scoffed at him. "Oh, don't worry, I'm not staying long." Not even waiting for a retort, she went upstairs and into her bedroom. Grabbing a few clothes, mainly the ones that she wore for college, along with a few other bits before throwing them into a bag. Slinging the bag over her shoulder, she left the room and headed back downstairs where she found Jesse waiting at the bottom.
"This is your home."
Before Mia could say anything, Dom interrupted. "Leave it, Jess. She'll be back once she's finished her little tantrum."
"Oh, that's rich coming from you." Mia retorted bitingly. "All you've done the last couple of days is throw a tantrum about Letty wanting to go to college. Crazy thought, but you'd think as her boyfriend that you would be supporting her..."
"And what about her supporting me?"
Dumbfounded, Mia threw Dom a hard look. "Seriously? All she's ever done is support you; and the one time that she wants you to return the favour you make it all about yourself."
"Weren't you leaving?"
Feeling her anger rising at her stupid, pig-headed brother, Mia walked over to the front door. "Careful, Dom. You already ran Jakob off, try not to do it to me too." Not even waiting for his retort or even wanting to hear it right now, she left the house. Slamming the door just so that Dom knew that he had pissed her off, she headed down the steps and walked over to where she had parked her car.
Jumping in, she tossed the bag onto the passenger seat before starting the engine and pulled away, not wanting to be around Dom one second longer until he apologized for being such an asshole over the last couple of days.
(Flashback end.)
Forgetting about her last conversation with Dom, Mia stripped out of her clothes and climbed into the bathtub. Pulling the curtains and making sure they were inside the bath, she rolled her neck as the hot water washed over her, the steam filling the bathroom.
Running her fingers through her long dark brown hair back, her mind wandered. It had been nearly a week and there had been no word from Dom, no nothing. She wasn't even sure why she was surprised. He wouldn't apologize, he never apologized because he thought that he was right, like always. And while the others might have taken it, she wasn't going to stand there and be spoken down too like a child.
She really didn't care what Dom thought. She was keeping the Nissan and Letty was going to college to earn her Associate Degree and become a certified mechanic; something that would be possible now that she had got her GED.
The others might not have cared but she did and was happy that Letty was finally doing something with her life other than wasting it street racing. Yeah, she enjoyed it and all but there was a time when you had to start thinking about the future. They were all in their twenties now, she really didn't want to be in her forties and still be going to the meet-ups and doing street racing to pay the bills.
Burying those thoughts away, Mia worked on getting showered and ready for college.
It was several hours later when Letty pulled up outside of the garage. It was probably gonna be a waste of fuckin' time, but she was at least gonna make the effort. Climbing out of her car, she heard power tools coming from within the building.
Stepping inside the garage, she stood by the entrance and watched as Dom and the others worked on a client's car. While she still wanted to go to college, seeing them all like this, she wished that things could go back to how they were before with the five of them just fucking around as they worked on whatever car came in; and when the day was over they would go home, have a cold one, order takeout, and watch a movie or playing on the game console for the night.
"Well, look who it is." Even if the tone was playful, Letty could hear the awkwardness in Leon's tone as everyone stopped what they were doing to look at her, though her eyes were focused solely on Dom.
"Hey." Letty greeted back with tight smile. "Thought that I would let you know that I passed my GED." She told them, but again her eyes were on Dom and while she didn't let it show, it hurt when all she got was a silent stare. "Well don't all congratulate me at once."
Looking away, Dom returned to what he was doing a few moments ago. "We're trying to work."
"...Need any help?"
"We've got it covered."
While the others looked between the two, Letty just sighed and shook her head. "Whatever." Not even saying goodbye, she turned and left the garage. Getting back into her car, she angrily put it in reverse and back up onto the street.
"What the hell was that Dom?" Leon asked perplexed as Letty left, burning rubber as she reversed back onto the street; and while he couldn't see her, he heard her pull away.
"What?"
"What do you mean, what?" Leon retorted heatedly. "You and Letty haven't spoken in nearly two weeks..."
"And who's fault is that?"
Leon looked at Vince. "His." He answered, gesturing to Dom who looked up from the engine. "She wants to go to college, what's the big deal?"
Unyielding, Vince continued. "She's walking out on us, that's what."
"Right, so Mia gets to go to college, but Letty can't?" Leon shot back as Dom and Jesse remained silent.
"That's different."
"Why, because this Jericho convinced her too?"
Just the mention of his name, Vince scowled. "She never cared about going to college until meeting that asshole."
"Is he an asshole because he convinced Letty to go to college, or because Mia likes him?" Leon wondered rhetorically and when Vince scowled slightly, he just scoffed mockingly. "Yeah, that's what I thought, you big baby."
"You changed your mind quickly." Vince hurled back with a glare. "Last week you were against her going to college."
"Yeah, well last week our family wasn't failing apart...not that anyone here seems to care." Leon commented scathingly. "Mia hasn't been home in nearly a week, and who knows when Letty is gonna come back. She went out of her way to come here, and you just go and blow her off." He finished; the last part directed at Dom. "What the hell happened to putting family first?"
Dom gave Leon a hard look. "Everything I do is for our family, if you can't see that..."
"All I see is that you've drove Letty and Mia away and you don't seem to care." Leon argued back. "Our family is falling apart...
His hard look never wavering, Dom cut Leon off. "Then perhaps you should be telling them that. For ten years I have worked my ass off every day to provide for us and all I ask is that you guys support me instead of going behind my back." He finished sharply. He had told Letty that they were fine as they were and instead of trusting him, she just went behind his back and did whatever the hell she wanted thinking that she knew best.
Driving through Los Angeles, Letty gripped the wheel angrily. She was pissed, royally pissed off. She knew that it would've been a waste of time going, but she thought that they would've said something...instead she was basically told to go and fuck off.
It was times like this that she really wished that Mia wasn't at college so that she could have someone to rant too. The whole point of getting her GED and going to college was to get certified in hopes of getting more customers...but now? Yeah, fuck the lot of them. She had known Jesse and Leon for over ten years, befriending them along with Jakob and Mia long before actually meeting Dom, and even they had given her the cold shoulder.
She had expected Vince to be a little brownnoser, but Jesse and Leon? Guess they were only family when Dom okayed it. It wasn't even about loyalty or about taking sides, it was the fact that they were all giving her the cold shoulder and acting like she was betraying them when all she was trying to do was help.
Spotting an empty parking space, she quickly pulled into it. Climbing out of the car, she locked it and stepped onto the sidewalk and made her towards Doug and Joan's that was a few blocks away. She would have found somewhere closer but knew from experience that she'd be lucky to find anywhere closer, especially around this time.
Making her way down the busy streets of L.A. that were overcrowded as always, she reached the diner within five minutes. Opening the door, she stepped inside and looked around to see that just like last time business was booming.
"Hello, darling." Joan greeted warmly once again making Letty feel welcomed as she came walking out from behind the counter with a tray of food. "Find a seat and I'll be with you in a minute. You'll find Jericho in his usual spot."
Glancing over at where Joan was gesturing, Letty spotted Gigantor sitting in one of the booths at the back. "Alright. Thanks." She nodded before making her way through the diner. Approaching his booth, she saw that he was reading a newspaper. Seriously, who the fuck read a newspaper in this day and age when you had tablets and phones that you could use.
"And here was me thinking I was going to enjoy today." Jericho remarked as he brought his mug to his scarred lips and looked at Letty, his blue eyes dancing playfully as she sat down opposite him.
"Sucks to be you then." Letty smirked back playfully, her bad mood fading a little.
Placing the mug back on the table, Jericho smiled amused. "So, what do I owe the..." He paused, trying to find the right word.
"Pleasure?"
"Sure. Let's go with that." Jericho told her getting another smirk from Letty. "And alone again?"
"You see anyone else, Gigantor?"
"Plenty of people, but none with you. Not that I can imagine why, not with that winning personality of yours." Jericho quipped.
Leaning back in the booth, Letty smirked and gave him the bird. "Jokes aside...
"Who said I was joking?"
Pretending she hadn't heard the smartass, Letty continued. "I passed my GED."
"Did you?" Jericho asked with a serious look, the playfulness in his voice fading.
"Yep."
"Well then," Slipping his hand into his back waistcoat, Letty watched as Jericho whipped out a white envelope. "This is for you."
Accepting the envelope, Letty opened it and pulled out letter inside. "Dear Leticia Lucia Ortiz." She read quietly, silently grimacing at full name being used. "We're happy to inform you that your place at the Culver City College (CCC) has been confirmed for the March 1st, 2004." While the starting date shocked her considering it was less than a few weeks away, there was another date that took her by surprise.
"Wait. This was signed on Monday." Letty stated looking at the date, then down at the bottom of the letter to see the signature of Titus Noble. "You didn't even know that I was going to pass my GED."
"Yes, I did."
While she tried to fight it, Letty found herself smiling at someone other than Mia believing in her. Before anything else could be said they both heard footsteps approaching and looked to see Joan walking over to them and stopped at their booth. "It's lovely to see you again, Letty. How have you been? Good week?"
"Shit." Letty wanted to say but managed to restrain herself. "It's been alright." She answered with a shrug. "Yourself?
"Mustn't grumble." Joan smiled back as she pulled out a notepad and pen from her apron. "Now then, what can I get you?"
Briefly glancing at the menu, Letty already knew what she wanted. "Are the burger and fries still on?"
"Of course."
"Then I'll get that...and a milkshake; strawberry." Letty voiced eagerly, craving the latter especially.
Grabbing the newspaper and folding it up, Jericho looked at Joan. "I'll get the same...minus the milkshake. You know, since I'm not a child." He finished earning a glare from the Latina opposite him.
"Now, now." Joan chastised as she writ down their order. "There nothing wrong with having a milkshake."
"Thank you."
"Manners? I don't think you had it in you."
If Joan hadn't been there Letty would have flipped him off or told him to go fuck himself, but since she was. "I'm full of surprises."
"You're full of something."
While Letty fought back a smirk, Joan placed her notepad and pen away. "I'll be back once your food is done." She told them before leaving the two alone. Once she was gone and out of earshot, Jericho returned his attention back to Letty.
"I'm going to take shot in the dark and guess that things haven't been alright at home."
"Didn't realize you were a shrink too."
"And I didn't realize that you were so defensive." Jericho shot back jokingly earning the middle finger from Letty. "And since you're not here with your little posse..."
Knowing that she was being mocked, Letty promptly corrected him. "Team. We're a team...at least I thought we were." She muttered the final part under her breath as her eyes lingered on the letter that was still in her hands.
"Things haven't gotten better at all?"
"Nope." Letty said popping the P. "Literally just came from the garage where I was basically told to go fuck myself." She revealed to Gigantor who said nothing at first, those his eyes softened slightly.
Jericho sighed softly. "I'm sorry about all this. The last thing...
"Don't be." Letty immediately silenced him. "Besides, it's not just me." Seeing his confusion, she elaborated. "Mia's been staying at mine since Sunday."
"She's moved out?"
"Not exactly. She's just doesn't want to be around Dom until she gets an apology...which we both know is never gonna happen. Dom doesn't apologize. He just waits for things to blow over then acts like it never happened. Although it's never gotten this bad before." Letty admitted quietly; and it really hadn't. She had been with Dom four years now and yeah, they had their disagreements like any couples but it had never gotten so bad that she had gone back home.
Hell, it had been so long since she had gone back to her place that there cobwebs everywhere, and she had spent the first day cleaning the place...and housework was a look that didn't suit her. She stupidly thought that seeing how pissed she was that Dom would eventually come round to apologise and tell her to come home, but nothing. He hadn't even sent the others.
In fact, today was the first time in a week and a half that they had been in the same room together let alone spoken and he just blew her off, all but telling her to fuck off because he was acting like a little...
"And the others?"
Pulled from her thoughts, Letty looked up at Gigantor who even sitting down towered over her. "What?"
"You've mentioned several times how Dominic disagrees with your decision to go to college. I know Mia supports you, what about the rest?"
"They're on Dom's side, sees it as me walking out on them." Letty informed him, her mood souring as she voiced that. "I expected it from Vince, he's always been a little brownnoser when it comes to Dom, but Jesse and Leon? I practically grew up with them along with Jacob and Mia. Jacob is..."
"Mia's brother. Yes, I know." Jericho answered mysterious earning a raised brow from the Latina opposite him. "Look," He paused, considering his words carefully. "Perhaps they're good people and the college offer has just taken them by surprise...but it's been nearly two weeks. They should have gotten over it by now." He told her, and when he saw her contemplating his words, he continued. "It sounds like they're the ones with the problem, not you.
Letty shocked herself when she didn't jump to their defence like she normally would.
"From what I can tell Mia has been nothing but encouraging from the very beginning, supporting your decision to go to college and even going as far as to help you study for your GED. If she can do it, why can't they?" Jericho asked Letty rhetorically.
Once more Letty remained silent as she mulled his words over before finally finding her voice. "I dunno." She muttered shrugging her shoulders. "Guess we're not as tight as I thought." She added under her breath. "Nor are me and Dom." She finished the last part in her head. Ride or Die. Those words used to mean something, it meant that they had each other's back, that they would ride to the ends of the earth for one another...but she guessed that they were just that, words.
She knew that it sounded stupid, not to mention fuckin' corny as shit but they were Dom and Letty. He was her soul mate...at least, she thought he was. Recently he was like a completely different person to the man that she loved. Yeah, their lives had always revolved around street racing and the garage, but she thought that he of all people would have supported her like she constantly did him.
But over the last week and a half she felt more like his lackies than girlfriend, like she was just a fuckin' object, a trophy that he had won. Like he didn't respect her, not just as his girlfriend but as a person. The sudden thought of him asserting authority and acting like he owned her just pissed her off.
"Of course I could be wrong." Jericho suddenly remarked, once again pulling Letty from her thoughts. "But even if I'm not at least you still have Mia. And I'm sure with that winning personality of yours you'll be making friends at college in no time."
The Latina smirked at his playful remark. Before anything else could be said footsteps approached. Looking over her shoulder, she sat up straighter in the booth as Joan carried over the tray of mouth-watering food; but most importantly her strawberry milkshake that somehow looked ever better than the first.
"Two burger and fries," Joan said placing the food down in front of them. "and one strawberry milkshake." She continued placing the pink beverage in front of Letty who struggled not to lick her lips. "Enjoy." Finishing and leaving them to their food, she turned and walked away.
Once again going for the milkshake first, Letty moaned as she sucked the straw and tasted the sweet strawberry milkshake that tasted ever better than she remembered. Either not noticing or not caring about the looks she got, she placed the glass down before pulling her plate to her. Grabbing the burger, she brought it up to her lips before taking a generous bite, happily savouring the taste of her food with every mouthful.
After they had finished and paid for their meals along with deserts for both Letty and Mia, Six left the diner with Letty who was holding the two boxes that stored the deserts that she had picked out for her and Mia.
"Thanks for lunch again, Gigantor." Letty told him once they were out of the diner. "And for, you know, getting me into college." She finished awkwardly. Still unsure how he had managed to get her into college so quickly, it was nice to have someone believe in her enough that they stuck their neck out on the line.
Seeing that she was about to leave, Six stopped her. "Where are you going?"
"Home." Letty replied before smirking up at him. "Why? Missing me already?"
"I just want to spend the day with my best pal." Six quipped dryly making her smirk grow. "But in all seriousness, I do believe that I said that if you were serious about college that I would buy you a car that you can afford to run."
Letty suddenly remembered his words on Sunday. "You were serious? I thought that you were..." She stopped mid-conversation when a silver 996 GT3 Porsche stopped in the middle of the road and watched as Gigantor walked towards it. She suddenly became confused when he opened the door to reveal that there was nobody driving the car.
"What the..."
Rolling down the window, Six looked over at where Letty was standing. "You getting in or not?" He asked and watched as she shook off her stupor and walked around the Porsche and climbed in. Shutting the door, she placed the boxes on her lap only to be pulled back as he took off, leaving behind the people that were staring.
"Alright, how the hell did this thing just turn up without a driver?" Letty asked once she sat back up after being yanked back.
"By calling it."
"And what, it answered?" Letty voiced sarcastically earning a side-eye from Gigantor. "Alright. How does it work?"
Concentrating on the road, Six decided to entertain her. "In each of my vehicles I have built and installed simplistic artificial intelligences that by using an app on my phone allows me to select whatever car or bike I want and have them drive to my location."
"...You built an Artificial Intelligence?"
"Several."
"Bullshit."
"You doubt your own eyes?"
Letty narrowed her eyes slightly. "...You are Titus Noble." She stated rather than asked. The people at Nobilis Speedway calling him Boss was one thing, as was the fact that he knew everyone's name and how he had been the one that had given Maine and the others a better life, but the fact that he had apparently built several A.I's and how casually he had thrown it out there.
"...when it's convenient, Leticia."
Torn between widening her eyes and narrowing them, Letty settled on the latter. "Don't call me Leticia." She warned him icily. Nobody called her Letica, not even Dom...when they were talking that was.
"Oh, sorry. I'm guessing that you don't like that name?"
"No, I don..." Letty's voiced trailed off and glared fiercely at him. "You're mocking me."
"You're good."
Biting the inside of her cheek, Letty fought back a smile. "So why all the cloak and dagger bullshit?"
"I never said I wasn't Titus Noble." Six countered smoothly. "I said that Boss was just a nickname, which it is."
Glaring at him for a moment, Letty begrudgingly agreed with him before moving the conversation along. "Guess it makes sense how you managed to get me into college so quickly...and how you can afford to splash out on all this shit." She murmured to the multibillionaire. Mia was gonna have a field day when she found out that Gigantor was none other than Titus Noble, as would Jesse...but she really didn't want to talk to him either.
"Hmmm. I've spent the week setting up the course so that you can go to college."
Taken aback, Letty looked at him. "It's a brand-new course?" She asked quietly.
"It is."
"Why not just put me on a course that already going."
"Because that would not be fair on you or the other students; you having to catch up, and them having to wait for you." Six informed her turning onto another road. "This way you get to go to college, earn a degree and become certified. And don't worry, they'll be other students going so you won't be alone."
Her heart racing a little at the revelation, Letty quickly played it off. "Who said I was worried?"
"Whatever you say, Leticia."
Letty responded by glaring at him. "So, where the hell are we going Gigantor?"
"You forget already, Leticia?"
Knowing that he was just saying her full name to piss her off, Letty decided to let it go. "No, but I left my car back there." She said thumbing over her shoulder.
"We'll be back for it in a bit." Six told her as he focused on the road. "For the time being let's work on finding you a car for college, one that you'll be able to afford to run."
And cut! And here is the next chapter of The Fast And Noble. I hoped you all enjoyed it even if not much happened again other than really the conclusion of last chapter and the small fight that Dom and Mia had, one that had far-reaching consequences that resulted in Mia moving out for a bit.
Not to mention that the revelation that Six is in fact Titus Noble.
It's still up for debate what Letty's new car is gonna be. But again, let me know what car you'd like Letty to have. Also, if everything goes to plan with this story like I'm hoping it does then the plot for The Fast And Furious will start in a few chapters.
Not much else to say other than let me know what you all thought.
