Biography:
Nothing is known about Kefka's birth or place of origin. Apocryphal stories have said he was an orphan taken by the forces of Emperor Gestahl and made into Gestahl's court jester. Doctor Cid, Gestahl's chief of Magitek scientists, saw potential in him and made him the first test subject in his project to create magical super warriors. The procedure granted Kefka incredible power but also turned him insane.
Gestahl was amused by Kefka's depravity and made him one of his generals and his court mage. This would be the emperor's eventual downfall, as once he saw Kefka had turned into a menace for him, his subordinate disposed of him and took over his throne. Opposed by a small band of heroes, Kefka succeeded in absorbing the magical power from the Warring Triad, becoming a self-appointed 'god of magic'. He scorched large parts of the world and ruled over the remains for a year, terrorizing everyone.
The same heroes who had fought Kefka before returned and killed him in his tower, freeing the planet. But Kefka had become one with magic so thoroughly, with his demise the Mystery began to fade slowly from the world.
Class Skills:
Territory Creation: A
Caster can easily and quickly set up palaces, towers and fortresses. These are the equivalent of temples from the Era of Gods and heavily fortified, to a point launching assaults on them is a rather difficult feat.
Item Creation: D
Caster has more than enough potential and aptitude to create efficient items, but he fancies himself a destroyer, not a creator. Under necessity, creating weapons is possible but he never would forge healing items or any others intended to help his fellow man. He would rather delegate the craftsmanship tasks to subordinates.
Personal Skills:
Golden Rule: B
Caster controlled his whole world for over a year, having complete access to any riches scattered along the wastelands. Even before his revolt, Caster had the rank of the emperor's right hand man, and so he had plenty of resources to carry out his campaigns. However, he finds the possession of material wealth itself secondary and prefers dominating others through fear and violence over buying their loyalty, which lowers the rank of this skill.
Magitek Knight: EX
Caster is the first and most 'successful' byproduct of the Magitek Knight experiments carried by Cid under Gestahl's orders. This comes to mean that Caster has remarkable control over all basic elements of magic, to a level compared to that of mages from the Age of Gods. His spellwork has the same effects and efficiency as those chanted through High Speed Divinity Words.
New spells can be learned and improved on with frightening velocity. Regardless of his insanity, Caster is brilliant and very intelligent, adapting himself to any form of magic he comes across. Mysteries are easily understood, assimilated and subdued in the most ruthless possible way.
Monstrous Strength: A
Caster's parameters are deceiving and even his Master can get the wrong idea about him by looking at them. This might be an intentional move from Caster so he is underestimated. With his magic, it is easy for him to boost his Strength and Endurance to superhuman levels. Albeit not a monster in the academic sense of the word, his physical transformations have rendered him indistinguishable from one.
Mental Pollution: A++
Communication with the Servant, beyond the formal ties of immediate cooperation in warfare, is all but impossible. Caster is practically guaranteed to betray any Master eventually, being even more difficult to reach emotionally than Mephistopheles or the Joker. Caster does not understand, nor he wants to, the notions of friendship and sincere loyalty. Summoning him is unadvised beyond extreme emergencies call for his skills.
Light of Judgment: A
Despite being evil, Caster has an affinity with the element of light, and indeed he seems to grow stronger when bathed by solar light. In his more powerful phases, he is surrounded by light he casts from above.
The Light of Judgment spell itself is one of Caster's favorites. He used it so often it went on to become its own Personal Skill, separated from the rest of Kefka's spell repertory. Warm rays blast the enemies from above, fast and cleanly, leaving no ashes behind. They can be used to obliterate whole towns in a question of minutes, and the mana consumption is much lower than with a Noble Phantasm.
Noble Phantasm:
Dancing Mad: EX
Target: Self.
Anti-Army. Up to 900 units a time.
Caster's ultimate body transformation. His figure swells and bulks up, his flesh turns purple, and he grows four wings on his back; the two wings above are angelic, those under them have a demonic air to them. This semi divine existence has EX endurance and needs to be killed several times before being finished for good. He casts Light of Judgment constantly and also blasts fire spells of wide range at his pleasure.
Through this stage, he gains the ability to fly around. His flight is not very fast and he cannot reach great heights, however.
Summon: "Greetings, o Brave Hero! Me, the ultimate villain, will work with you now! Isn't that so beautifully ironic? Servant Caster at your service, then. I promise I'll be as loyal as I have always been. But hear this. I only do this because nobody is going to upstage me. Not your enemies, certainly. Everyone is my enemy, so your enemies are my enemies too. That makes sense, right? But once we are done with them... you'll be my enemy too. You will get to fight the greatest of villains, what a fitting end for you! HEE! HEEEE!"
Beginning of Battle:
"I've prepared some suitable entertainment for you!"
"Freaks! Kneel before your emperor!"
"I've been practicing my greeting!"
"You're about to find out that I'm nothing to laugh at!"
"Run, run. Or you'll be well done."
Attack:
"Burn!"
"Hee hee hee! Hee hee! More!"
"Aren't you in pain yet?"
"This is so thrilling!"
"This is lovely...!"
Damage:
"I've got a bad feeling about this..."
"NO! NO!"
"Unfair!"
"I'll kill you, slay you!"
Defeat by Noble Phantasm:
"How could this be!? I'm the God of Magic!"
Victory:
"Uwee-hee-hee!"
"Ahem! There's SAND in my boots!"
"Did I overdo it? Of course I overdid it! What's the fun in destruction if no precious lives are lost?"
"Why do people insist on creating things that will inevitably be destroyed? Why do people cling to life knowing that they must someday die? Knowing that none of it will have meant anything once they do?"
"I will destroy everything... I will create a monument to non-existence!"
"I can't stop laughing!"
Defeat:
"No! Shut up!"
"I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate HATE YOU!"
"The end comes, beyond chaos."
Noble Phantasm Activation:
"They called me mad... and they were right! I've acquired the ultimate power! Observe... Such magnificent power! You're all nothing more than fleas compared to me now! Embrace your destruction... It is the fate of all things!"
Dialogue Samples:
"Hee-hee! Nothing beats the music of hundreds of voices screaming in unison, does it! Uwee-hee-hee!" (When you have Saber Darth Vader).
"Oh, a member of my cult! Your makeup could use some work, but I like your fashion choices! You get to live another day! Hee heee heeee!" (When you have Assassin Joker or Caster Mephistopheles).
"Your very existence offends me... DIE!" (When you have Ruler or Archer Jeanne d'Arc).
"The Impermanence of All Things. What a fascinating doctrine from your homeland! Human lives are so meaningless, you do understand that well. Don't you? Hee, heeee!" (When you have Assassin Shuten Douji).
"You call yourselves Beasts of Mankind, yet you claim to act out of love for mankind? You are a joke! There is nothing to love about mankind!" (When you have Beast Draco).
"Push me around, woman, and you'll learn there's such a thing as too much fire, even for you!" (When you have Avenger Jeanne d'Arc Alter).
"You remind me of the toad I once was. What a pity, then, that you'll never be able to raise like I did!" (When you have Caster Gilles de Rais).
Birthday: "How have you made it so far, I wonder? A creature as stupid as you, I suppose miracles CAN happen sometimes."
Event: "Master. Before we go there, keep this in mind, will you? It should be easy, there's tons of free room there. Read my lips... mercy is for wimps! There's a reason 'oppose' rhymes with 'dispose'... If they get in your way, kill them!"
Holy Grail: "Wishes... Life... Dreams...Hope... Where do they come from? And where are they headed? Such meaningless things... I'll destroy them all!"
