Hey everyone and Alvarez Tales. I decided to go back to my old roots and try again at an old story.
Chapter 1: How they met
Year July 7 X777
"Igneel where are you!" a young Natsu shouted for his father.
Try as he might it didn't seem like anyone could hear him. He continued to shout for Igneel for at least an hour when he saw a man with black hair wearing royal garbs but Natsu didn't know that. "Hello little one what are you doing here all alone?" the man question the boy.
For some reason Natsu felt like he knew this man, like he could be trusted. "Well I'm looking for my Dad, Igneel, he seems to be missing," Natsu told the man.
The man looked a little confused. "Igneel? Well I know an Igneel. Would you happen to be Natsu?"
"Yeah that me, wait you know Igneel?" Natsu ask him.
The man nod knowing what Igneel did. "Yes, my name is Zeref Dragneel, your older brother," Zeref said.
Natsu in shock ask Zeref many questions like where has he been and why he wasn't he there. Zeref sigh knowing he would have to tell Natsu everything.
They walk and talk until they reach the Kingdom of Alvarez. Here Zeref is called 'Emperor Spriggan' and the people love him. He explain to Natsu that he is a prince here and he has to be respectful. "Now remember Natsu you have to call me Spriggan in front of my people, only my generals know my true identity," Zeref explain.
"Don't worry I got this," Natsu said with a big smile.
Zeref sigh knowing Natsu needs to be properly educated to be a decent prince hopefully. "Is this the little brother you talk about your Majesty," a voice said.
The brothers turn to see a woman and a girl in armor, both of them have red hair. They both bow down to the brothers much to Natsu confusion. Zeref smiled at them. "You may rise. Natsu I would like you to meet one of my generals Irene Belserion and her daughter Erza," Zeref introduce them.
Natsu went up to Erza. "Hey my name is Natsu, its nice to meet you Erza," Natsu said holding out his hand.
Erza is surprise at the Prince's straight forwardness. Zeref sigh while Irene laugh. "Now Erza don't be rude to the prince," Irene said to her daughter.
Erza blush as she shook Natsu's hand. "Hey, want to be friends?" Natsu ask her.
Erza's face became as red as her hair. She never had a friend before, all the grown ups were afraid of Irene who is known as the Scarlet Despair and don't want their children anywhere near Erza. "Um, sure," she responded.
Irene and Zeref smiled at the kids. And so begins a new era for the Kingdom of Alvarez.
April 20th X784
On the port of Hargeon Town, a grown up Natsu and Erza with a blue cat name Happy made their way to town. Over the 7 years they gotten really close and became Alvarez's strongest team. Now they are on a mission from Emperor Spriggan himself, to find and destroy anything related to Zeref.
"Now remember Happy, behave we are representing Alvarez after all," Erza said in a motherly tone.
"Aye sir," the blue cat salute.
She then looked at Natsu who is currently recovering from motion sickness. "Never again will I ride a boat for week again," Natsu said.
Even though Natsu has been training to overcome his weakness but he only go an half-n-hour before getting sick on any form of transportation. "Well your gonna have to when we finish our mission," Erza stated.
Erza and Natsu have gotten really close over the seven years and even raise Happy together when he was born. Now they're like one happy family.
"Damn it brother, why can't he just clean up his own mess," Natsu whined.
Ever since Zeref found Natsu, a lot has change in Alvarez. Natsu knows his a demon and about his brother's curse. While he doesn't understand the details but it seems that Zeref is trying to atone for causing chaos for this country. Still Natsu is irritated that Zeref left him with the task of destroying anything related to Zeref. He is happy to see new places and fight strong wizards, he just wish it was on his terms.
"Don't be like that, you know that the Emperor has other duties back home," Erza said.
Natsu knew that already but he didn't have to like it. He then notice a large group of women surrounding a man. Natsu could tell he was trouble and thought about interfering. But Erza beat him to it.
"Why hello young lady, do you want my autograph too," the man said. Erza just looked at his hand to see a charm ring. "You have there a charm ring, and last time I checked that illegal in this country," Erza said breaking the spell.
Knowing his been caught, grab a blonde girl. He light his hand with fire magic. "OK, I know when I'm caught but I Bora will not go to jail," Bora said.
Erza step back, knowing that if she did anything the hostage would get hurt. The blonde slowly reach for one of the keys on her belt and said "Open, Gate of the White Dog! Nikora!"
A bright light blinded Bora. Seeing an opening, Natsu rush at Bora at high speed, punching him in the face. "That was close," Natsu said.
Some time later the military came to arrest Bora. Turns out Bora runs an illegal slave trade and wanted to move his business to another country. His plan was to lure woman to his 'private party' tonight. Erza, Happy, and Natsu are talking to blonde girl who introduce herself as Lucy.
"Thank you for saving my life back there, how about I treat you some lunch?" Lucy offer the trio.
"Thank you for the offer but my carelessness got you capture, so it's only right that I pay for lunch," Erza said bowing to her.
"What you did was very brave, if you hadn't use your Celestial Spirit to catch him off guard I wouldn't have been able to attack him so the real hero is you," Natsu praise Lucy.
Lucy blush at them, she was not use to such praise. Truth is Lucy was going for one of her gold keys but was too scared to pay attention. Still welcomes it mostly because she's out of money.
At the restaurant, the four talk about what to do next. Natsu, Erza, and Happy told Lucy that they are going join a guild. "Hey how about we all join Fairy Tail," Lucy suggested.
Erza and Happy like that idea but Natsu seem uneasy about it. His brother speaks highly of Fairy Tail and how they treat each other like family. He didn't want to get too close to them because if Alvarez went to war with Fiore, he would have turn against Fairy Tail. "Erza can I talk to you for a moment?" she nodded her head.
20 minutes later they return. Erza had a sour look on her face. "Alright we'll join Fairy Tail, but first lets introduce ourselves, I'm Natsu Dragneel," he said with a big smile.
"I'm Lucy"
"Happy"
They all look at Erza. "Erza Scarlet," she said coldly which sends a shiver down Lucy spine.
Whatever Natsu told Erza seems to have upset her. Lucy hope Erza is alright.
And done. Now this is an old story I had awhile ago and decided to have another crack at. It's still the same plot but a different beginning so I hope you enjoy. I don't own Fairy Tail.
