Kakura Town -

Ichigo had been wandering aimlessly through the winter streets when he spotted her: bathed in soft shimmering light cast by snowflakes was a young woman adorned in angelic features; eyes closed, lips curving slightly upward as though in some wonderful dream. Ichigo stood transfixed at her beauty; watching as snowflakes danced and sparkled all around like tiny dancing fairies of the night, when suddenly his curiosity was aroused into action: He felt an urge to approach her immediately.

He hesitated, wanting to get to know her better but sensing something fragile and inaccessible about her demeanor that made it clear if he approached her, she may well feel overwhelmed and unwilling to open to anyone new. By going closer, however, he knew he would only be breaking an intimate moment she was sharing with herself.

But he couldn't resist, taking steps toward her eager to meet her and introduce himself.

Ichigo was taken aback at first when she stopped and turned towards him with eyes wide-eyed and bright. Ichigo was astounded to discover she was stunning - with long locks of dark hair escaping her scarf, and pink cheeks glowing in response to the cold air.

"Who are you?" she inquired gently in a soft voice.

"Hi I'm Ichigo," Ichigo replied hesitantly, still feeling somewhat uncertain of himself.

She took a moment to consider his response before answering: "Hello Ichigo. My name is Sayuri."

She pointed at the sparkling snow around them and inquired of him what his thoughts on this were: "So what do you think?"

Ichigo looked around, focused primarily on Sayuri and smiled happily. "This is amazing; like something out of a dream."

Sayuri's smile broadened, as she nodded her head in approval. "Yes, I was just admiring its beauty - those snowflakes are truly delicate and almost seem alive!

Ichigo looked at her in surprise. It seemed as if she could read his mind; his chest warmed, and he found himself smiling back at her.

Sayuri gestured toward a bench, inviting Ichigo to take a seat before joining him on it himself. They remained there quietly watching snowflakes fall.

Sayuri responded with, "Do you know what my favorite part about snow is?

Ichigo shook his head in anticipation.

Sayuri looked up into the night sky and smiled. "I love how it reminds me of all of life's possibilities - no matter how bleak things may appear to be, something beautiful may still emerge out of them!"

Ichigo smiled. Never had he considered it from this angle.

Sayuri questioned Ichigo with curiosity, asking him what his favorite feature of winter snow was.

Ichigo gazed upon the evening sky for some time, thinking carefully before responding. Just then he felt an unwelcome chill in the air and suddenly saw that snow began falling more heavily than previously expected.

"I love how this incident reminds us of all that life is full of surprises; that no matter what plans we make, we cannot predict what is around the corner." He smiled back at Sayuri.

Sayuri nodded her head in agreement and stood up, adding, "That is true - we never know what lies in store for us."

Are you new to this neighborhood? I've been here a few times before but can't recall ever seeing you before."

She nodded. "Yes, I am new here."

"From where are you coming?" asked Ichigo.

She hesitated for a moment before responding, "I don't remember." She appeared uncertain as she tried to recall something else.

Ichigo felt himself drawn into her mysterious aura; she seemed unaware of her past and he wanted to learn more.

"Why don't you come with me?" Ichigo suggested. "I know several cozy places where we can warm up. Talk, and perhaps this will help spark some memories for you."

He looked into her hopeful eyes, knowing he had made the right choice.

"Yes," she replied. "That would be ideal."

Together, they roamed the quiet streets, enjoying a leisurely walk with wind blowing through their hair and snow crunching underfoot. While talking, topics both large and small were discussed and eventually an understanding between them was formed. Eventually a true friendship began to form between them both.

As they strolled together, Ichigo took note of Sayuri and was struck by her beauty under the moonlight; her bright eyes twinkled, and her skin seemed radiant while her long locks seemed dusted with snowflakes - an instant when he felt time had frozen over for him.

All around them, the night was alive with snowflake beauty and wintery sounds.

He knew right then and there that this momentous occasion marked something truly unique in their lives, feeling as though snow had cast some spell on them and knowing this moment would remain indelible in his memory.

Soon enough, Ichigo looked forward to their walks together, noting how she approached life with wonder and curiosity and felt something special unfold within him.

He had never met anyone like her before and valued their friendship deeply.

As winter progressed, Ichigo and Sayuri became closer. He understood her better and took delight in seeing that she desired being with him. Together they quickly adjusted to school life together - soon becoming inseparable even within their respective groups.

Sometimes when the night was still, they would sit together in silence and simply enjoy being together. He felt connected to her, almost as if she were part of him.

Ichigo mustered up the courage one summer afternoon after walking Sayuri home from school to tell her how he felt about their relationship.

"Sayuri, please wait. I need to speak with you."

"What do you want to talk about?" she asked in a hushed voice.

Ichigo took a deep breath before saying: "I want you to know that I love you.

Sayuri was taken aback, her jaw opening in surprise at what had just transpired.

"What were you saying?" she inquired in a barely audible tone of voice.

Ichigo felt an irritation develop in his throat.

"I love you," he said softly. "I just wanted you to know."

Sayuri's facial features softened as she moved closer to Ichigo.

"Ichigo," she replied slowly, trying to comprehend his words. "I...don't know what else I could possibly say."

Ichigo felt an overwhelming sense of panic rise within him.

"I understand it may be hard for you to hear," he admitted, his voice wavering slightly, "but I want you to understand my feelings.

Sayuri remained quiet, her expression still unclear.

"I...feel the same," she finally admitted in her soft, low voice.

Ichigo felt as though an enormous burden had been lifted off his chest.

"Really?" He whispered hesitantly.

Sayuri nodded her head with an almost imperceptible hint of smile dancing across her lips.

"Yes," she answered with conviction, before continuing her question: "So, what can we do now?" Her voice filled with hopefulness.

Ichigo glanced towards him with amusement.

"I believe we should date," he replied.

She hesitated for a moment before smiling broadly.

On this night, they watched the stars and talked until dawn broke. Ichigo felt deeply at peace; this moment will always remain dear to him.
