Sonic and the Return of the Wisps.
Author's Note: Once again, writer's block hit, the upcoming Sonic Colours: Rise of the Wisps making me even more motivated, and while I should be continuing on my other stories including a requested one, or maybe I might squeeze it into this story, in the ending maybe, I'm not sure, I just couldn't hold it back anymore, but I will get back to them as best I can. This is set after the events of "Sonic's Space-Time Adventure" and possibly much more light-hearted than my other fics.
So it's a semi-sequel to "Sonic and the Power of the Wisps". So, enjoy!

Chapter 1: Wisps of Surprise!?
Planet Wisp, the world full of beautiful alien greenery, water and clear blue sky with white clouds, wonderful flowers and giant trees that looked like giant flowers with vines hanging from the branches, was the home of colourful, adorable and magical aliens called the Wisps who come in many shapes, personalities and powers, all done by their life-force, the Hyper-Go-On. They were all born and created along with their planet by their 'Mama', giant the Mother Wisp, who had created this world and her children on her own long ago.
Everything was peaceful until three months and three weeks ago, all that changed when the evil human scientist from a world called Mobius where humans and Mobians, highly anthropomorphic animals, live together, came and abducted them and their entire planet close to his own world's orbit along with four others, chaining them to his own Interstellar Amusement Park in his goal to use their powers as fuel for his Mind-Controlling Weapon to enslave all life on Mobius to rule it as it's Emperor.
But like many times he has been foiled in the past, the Universe including Planet Wisp and all of the gentle aliens was saved by the hero of Mobius, Sonic the Hedgehog, a teenage Mobian who, with the aid of his adoptive little brother Miles "Tails" Prower the fox, braved through the dangers for years and by saving the Wisps, they aided him in his quest alongside Yacker who joined him and Tails on their adventure, and with the power of the Wisps and the Chaos Emeralds, everything has been saved and Dr. Eggman, the evil scientist who the aliens call Baldy Nosehair, had met his demise when the Mother Wisp, who had transformed into a Nega-Mother Wisp, had devoured him before she was restored to normal by Sonic who used the Emeralds to transform into Super Sonic.
In gratitude for saving her life and the lives of her children, the Mother Wisp saved his after he passed out and with the aid of the smaller Wisps, returned him to his home world before departing, and a month after that, he and Tails visited their world for the day after the birth of new Wisps who can teleport to many places at their choosing, visiting the ones that they knew of, including Mobius in secret.
Now life was in true peace in all six worlds, despite that Asteroid Coaster had another name, but a terrible tragedy occurred thousands of years before and left barren and wasted.
However...a few certain types of Wisps, still being young, decided to make things a bit more lively...
Life was such a bliss on Planet Wisp, with all of the aliens living out their lives happily and playfully, some eating the strange but delicious fruit, some sliding down the tree trunks and roots, others flying around and a Spike Wisp shooting towards his/her brothers and sisters who dodged and got it's head stuck in a tree, making the other Wisps either wince in sympathy or laugh, many just flying around and playing with their powers. There were even new Wisps since the last time Sonic and Tails had visited two months ago.
Speaking of the two heroic and cute Mobians, the newer Wisps that had seen them for the first time and played with them, and had wanted to keep the blue hedgehog and two-tailed fox forever before being told that it was wrong to force them to stay by their mother, their older brother Yacker, and Sonic who had promised he and Tails would visit as soon as possible, flew up to the Mother Wisp who flew around watching over her children.
"(Mama. When will Sonic and Tails come to visit us again?)" The light-yellow Wisp with the long-tentacle-like hair asked.
"(We wanna see them and play with them.)" The Cobalt Wisp, one that somewhat resembled to the blue hedgehog, stated.
The Mother Wisp gazed at them warmly and gently caressed her beloved infants, saying. "(Now now, darlings. I'm sure Sonic and Tails will come back soon. You need to be patient. It is not easy for them to teleport from their world to ours.)"
"(Awwwww!)" The young Wisps all pouted in disappointment.
One of the newest Wisps born just about a month ago, a gold and cream-white Star-Shaped Wisp with three light-blue eyes, seemed to pout. "(I wanna meet the blue hedgehog hero and play with him! I wanna see him with my own eyes!)
"(Me too, me too! He's gotta be everything Big Brother Yacker says in the stories!)" Said a Hazel-Purple Wisp that looked similar to a Cyan Wisp and a White Wisp, only it had a look like it was wearing a dress, Topaz-yellow single eye, and a circle on top of it's head.
The older Wisps, one blue-cube, another Cyan, the third a Spike Wisp, and the two being the Hover Wisp and Drill-Yellow Wisp, all shared a glance as they were among Sonic and Tails' older alien friends.
"(I think we all just made our new brothers and sisters think of Sonic as, what Mobians call, an idol or something.)" The Pink Wisp commented with a deadpanned expression.
"(Yeah, you're right. Let's hope they come back for a visit soon, because this is driving me so crazy, I'm gonna have to ask Jumper-3 to take me to Sweet Mountain and eat all of the ice cream stuff.)" The Cyan Wisp waved it's arm in front of it's face.
Meanwhile, Yacker was hovering around making sure things were in order among his family and friends, panting in exhaustion when some of the newer Wisps were being such a handle more than ever, especially when some of the 'baby' Wisps that were born recently were giving 'Mama' new ideas of how more Wisps should look like.
"(Phew! If this keeps up, Mama's gonna be so exhausted and I'm going to collapse. We could use a bit of a vacation if there weren't so many of the babies around here.)" The curl-headed Wisp sighed, wiping his head.
Little did Yacker know, was that the Jade-Ghost Wisps, along with other Star-Wisps, Jumper Wisps and few other Wisps, Red-Spiky, Hammer, ect., were huddling together whispering among themselves, and if the older little alien had been listening in...it's not good. Not to everyone else, anyway.
"(Aw, this stinks! We've been waiting and waiting and Sonic and Tails still haven't come back for a visit.)" The Red-Spiky Wisp pouted, annoyed and impatient.
"(Maybe it's because they're busy or still haven't found a way to visit us yet.)" The Yellow-Haired Wisp suggested meekly.
"(Or maybe they forgot about us. Those trickers!)" The Hammer-Wisp theorized, which made some of them gasp before began to look either angry, teary or just disappointed.
"(I'm gonna go with Cutie here and say that they're busy or can't get to us yet. Us Jumpers are the only ones who can, but we can't just show ourselves if they're with other Mobians and we don't even know what humans look like. Geez, some of us here haven't seen that ugly bad man Baldy Nosehair.)" One of the Jumper Wisps shrugged.
It was then that one of the Jade-Ghost Wisps grinned mischievously. "(Now that isn't a bad idea. What we gotta do is liven things up in all of the places that we like. This includes seeing Sonic and Tails' planet! We can show ourselves and prove that we can be just as friendly and adorable by playing all over the place!)"
While most of the huddled up Wisps beamed at the idea, the Jumper Wisp and the Yellow-haired Wisp, called Cutie, flinched and gapped in shock as they both exclaimed. "(Are you crazy!? We can't do that!)"
"(Sure we can. We have Jumpers, Star-Beams, and we can easily bring over worlds to Mobius and show everybody they can visit them and we can all be friends! It would be the coolest thing in the entire Universe! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!)" The Jade-Ghost Wisp laughed.
As the Wisps that agreed with him cheered on, the single Jumping Wisp gave them all a dull expression as he deadpanned. "(Now you're starting to sound like Baldy Nosehair in the stories.)"
"(This is a bad idea, Spirit. We could get into trouble with everybody in Sonic's world and Mama and Big Brother Yacker will be so angry.)" Cutie protested.
"(It will be fine. Besides, Mama and Big Bro Yacker wanted to see Sonic and Tails again, and I could tell that they wanted our Mobian heroes to stay here forever too, but decided not to, which is pretty dumb since they belong here with us.)" Spirit, the Jade-Ghost Wisp, said smugly.
"(Are you calling Mama and Yacker dumb!? That's not right!)" The Jumping Wisp exclaimed in shock and anger.
"(What a horrible thing to say!)" Cutie exclaimed, tearing up as she began to cry.
While the other Wisps sweat dropped at this, Spirit made a movement like he was shaking his head, before gesturing at the group who decided to go along with his idea. "(Come on, guys! Let's do what we gotta do! Use our powers to really liven things up!)"
"(YEAH!)" The other Wisps cheered, and before Cutie and the Jumping Wisp could stop them, the other Jumping Wisps teleported themselves and the other excited Wisps to an area where they can start doing their new job, ignoring the two's protests. They shared a horrified glance before deciding to find Yacker and their mother to warn them of the disaster that was about to take place.
But the two were teleporting away to find either one that was the closest, it was too late as Spirit gestured the other three Jumpers and Star-Makers. "(All right! Take it away, bros!)"
"(Yes, sir!)" Three Jumpers and three Star-Makers playfully saluted, before combining their powers of Teleport and powerful Wishing ability.
They spun around and around and around in mid-air as their powers spread out across Planet Wisp which caught the attention of the other Wisps including Yacker and the Mother Wisp who all wondered what was going on, the two young Wisps who were attempting to find them gasped in horror, their eyes widening as, along with other Wisps' powers, those who also wanted the same thing, spread out across the planet which then vanished from it's galaxy once more, this time without the cause of Eggman's tractor generator. And not just there, but also the other four planets that had returned to their original place across the Universe.
All to be sent back to the galaxy where Mobius was. Yet due to this, some of the Wisps, including the shocked Yacker and the older Wisps who had been saved by Sonic, all disappeared along with others, including the Mother Wisp who, realizing what happened, attempting to find her children only to be hit by the largest beam and screamed before vanishing and passing out.
This was going to cause some major problems.
Meanwhile, back on Mobius-Three weeks after the events of "Sonic's Space-Time Adventure"...
While things were about to go crazy across the universe once more due to mischievous-rebelling Wisps deciding to make things interesting which would cause huge trouble, Sonic the Hedgehog, now sixteen years old and having celebrated the most eventful and adventurous birthday of his life which resulted in saving Space and Time within the White Space and his friends alongside his Alternate, younger-self, and defeating their now former evil self Scourge the Hedgehog who, in his defeat, atoned and helped to stop the Time Eater and Cormain, destroying both monsters and restoring everything while changing history for the better in Moebius without altering history in Mobius and Alternate-Mobius, was having the time of his life.
He raced through the canyons and desert just outside of Station Square in high-speed while enjoying himself, as happy as he had ever been. The blue hedgehog, with the depature of his alternate-selves as well as the counterparts of Tails and Amy, and Scourge's little brother Red, former enemies Silver, Blaze and Kintobor who was spared from turning evil, was just returning to the city while cheering.
"YAAA-HOOOO! Yeah! Look out, world! Sonic the Hedgehog comin' through!" Sonic exclaimed excitedly, expertly zig-zagging among anything he might crash into but thankfully didn't.
Making it into the city where even more Mobians decided to live while humans enjoyed their company, the sixteen year old raced across the city while passing by people who were going about in their daily lives and excusing himself to make sure he didn't accidentally hurt anybody. The cobalt speedster skid to a stop at the pedestrain lights while waiting for the green walk symbol to flash as cars drove by across the world. Sonic stretched out his arms, feeling so free and in peace more than ever.
"Man, am I the luckiest hedgehog on the planet?" Sonic said to himself, and while he was still adjusting to the be no-more Eggman lifestyle, still feeling somewhat guilty for his enemy's permanent imprisonment, or, as Soloman had mentioned, hopefully resting place in the afterlife since there was no way to come back to Mobius due to having been swallowed up whole by the Nega-Mother Wisp, he enjoyed his life with the best friends and family he could ever ask for.
"You mean the most annoying hedgehog on the planet?" A slightly deep-ish voice deadpanned all of the sudden next to him, prompting Sonic to blink and lower his arms to see Shadow stand there as though he just appeared out of nowhere.
"Hey there, Shadow. How was your mission?" The younger hedgehog greeted with a smirk. Since his birthday party, while the events did cause the Ultimate Lifeform to end up joining after all since declining Rouge's offer, he hasn't seen the black hedgehog for three weeks due to another assignment by GUN two days later.
"In hindsight?" Shadow scoffed as he waited for the signal to across the road. "Frightfully dull and too easy compared to locating Dr. Eggman. Omega is still complaining about not finishing the doctor off himself, it's giving me a migraine."
The blue hedgehog shrugged, "Hey, it's not my fault that Eggman got himself killed. It's been three and a half months already. You'd think big guy would've gotten over it by now, and he's a robot."
"Which is exactly what Rouge said, but you know what he is like. In fact, he still isn't willing to face you yet either." The black hedgehog replied.
"...He's not thinking of using me for target practice, is he?" Sonic asked, a little uneasily.
"You're the fastest thing alive, you would have easily avoided him no matter how hard he tried." Shadow deadpanned.
"Yeah, well, I see him as a friend and I don't wanna be enemies with any of you guys. Been there with you already when we first met and once is more than enough. Not to mention Knuckles when he's easily tricked by Egghead." The teenager pointed out. "Why not just make a Baldy McNosehair dummy for Omega to play with like how that guy made less-than-attractive dummies of me, Tails and Knux?"
The Ultimate Lifeform smirked, stating. "Actually, I had thought of that since yesterday when Rouge, Omega, Agent Topaz and I investigated one of his abandoned bases to destroy any documents he left behind since his death. And you're right; those lifeless replicas of you, your little brother and the guardian are more fake than you are, Faker."
Sonic just playfully pouted before smirking with his eyes closed and arms closed for a moment. "Yeah, whatever you say, Shads. Whatever you say."
"What about you? What were you doing for the last few weeks?" Shadow questioned.
"Hanging around with everybody, helping Sun and surprisingly Star to settle in living here in Station Square, visiting Chris in Westopolis, bashing away bad robots that some two clowns who called themselves Rough and Tumble, who are more like Twiddle Dumb and Twiddle Dumber somehow controlled, me, Tails, Sun and Knuckles put them in jail, Uncle Chuck, Mom and Dad visiting since yesterday, helping out to stop crime, and just running around. You know, life as a hero which has been easy lately since the whole Time Eater and Cormain stuff that's happened." The hero of Mobius explained casually.
Just as the light turned green and people walked passed them to across, Sonic readied himself to run once again as he gave a two-finger salute to Shadow, "Well, gotta run. I promised to meet up with my folks, unc', bros, Ames and Star at my place for dinner today. See you later, Shadow."
Without waiting for a goodbye, Sonic sped off once most of the people had safely passed, leaving Shadow, who shook his head but held a secret smirk of respect, to skate his way back to HQ himself. While he didn't tell anyone, the Ultimate Lifeform was pleased to see the younger hedgehog much better than he had been ever since the Dark Gaia incident, and much more happier now since the return of his uncle who, as far as Shadow could see, was like a second father to Sonic who he loved deeply. He couldn't help but also feel a little bit jealous as well, but pushed that aside since, unlike Maria who would never return to life, Sir Charles was never proven to be fully dead, just imprisoned unknowingly for ten years.
Half an hour later as the sun had already almost set and the stars shining in the sky with the full moon rising, after Sonic returned to his and Tails' shared home in the Mystic Ruins, he, his adoptive little brother, his now official girlfriend Amy(whom always thought it was official for years, much to his embarrassment, but now that they made it official since the Space-Time adventure, she had stopped glomping him but was still a bit flirty, which he still cringed about but enjoyed her company), newest brother Sun, the orange hedgehog's own girlfriend Staria "Star" Amantha despite the two still trying to hide their relationship, his parents Jules and Bernadette, and newly rescued Uncle Chuck, who had gotten along so well with Tails and had enjoyed the company of all of Sonic's friends/rest of the family, were now seated at the dining room table with a nice home-cooked meal of spaghetti and meatballs in tomato sauce with garlic bread on the side, enjoying the family and friend moment.
"Isn't this lovely? All of us together and not a single thing to worry about." Amy sighed happily.
"You said it, Amy. We should do this more often." Sonic agreed, before taking a bite out of his garlic bread.
"I haven't had such a nice family lunch meal in the longest time, and now it's bigger than ever before." Sir Charles chuckled, feeling at ease since returning home the awkwardness not long after his now oldest nephew's sixteenth birthday, but thanks to Sonic, he already settled in once again and gotten to love Tails and Sun as new nephews as well.
"It is so peaceful now that the family is together. Well, not all of us since the birthday party, but it's still so nice." Bernadette agreed, politely eating her meal as well.
"I still can't believe you've been alive all this time, Chuck. I'm just sorry that I wasn't there to save you and the other people." Jules, still feeling guilty after reuniting with his older brother after ten years, commented.
Uncle Chuck shook his head. "It's alright, Jules. It's all in the past now. Everyone is here once again, thanks to Sonny Boy and his remarkable bravery."
The aforementioned teenage blue hedgehog chuckled sheepishly, scratching the top of his head. "C'mon, Unc'. I can't take all of the credit. If if weren't for everybody else, I would'a been toast by now."
"If I ever go through another crazy adventure involving something that's unusual, it would be too soon." Sun shook his head with a slight smirk.
"Well, at least we don't have to worry about Dr. Eggman or Dr. Starline anymore. Mobius has been in complete peace since they've been gone and I wish it would stay this way." Star said.
"Me too, and I have it's going to be this way from now on." Amy agreed.
The family all chuckled, before Sonic turned to the only fox of the family and asked. "Hey, Tails. How's the new Interstellar ship of yours coming?"
"It's going pretty well, actually. With a few quick adjustments, and the Chaos Emeralds as a power source, we'll be flying and visiting Planet Wisp in no time at all." Tails explained. "You're gonna be totally surprised when you see it tomorrow."
"I must admit, when I was helping Sonny Tails here, I was very surprised with his mechanical wizardary skills." Sir Charles remarked, feeling proud of his new youngest nephew and that Sonic had adopted him into the family.
"That's Tails for ya. Always working his magic." The sixteen year old hedgehog said proudly.
The nine year old fox cub blushed in embarrassment by the compliment from his big brother and newly rescued uncle. "Well, I had help from you guys."
Sonic just responded by gently ruffling him on the head, making his little brother giggle and the rest of his family and friends to chuckle and smile at the adorable moment. "Tails, you did most of the work and you deserve major credit. How could anybody not love you? And not just your way past cool skills, but that great big heart of yours."
"Thanks, Sonic." Tails smiled fondly at his older brother.
"Aw, Sonic. That was so sweet of you." The thirteen year old pink hedgehog said happily, going over to her boyfriend and kissed him on the cheek, making the blue hedgehog turn slightly pink on the muzzle.
"Well, I-" Sonic barely got the chance to respond to his new girlfriend when all of the sudden there was some kind of strange whooshing sound coming from outside.
When he and his family and friends looked up to see what it was, light was shining and blinking outside from the windows, confusing the seven hedgehogs and the two-tailed fox as they wondered what was happening.
"What's that?" Star asked, shocked.
"Now what?" Sun asked, as he suddenly felt that something was wrong.
"Let's go take a look." Sonic suggested, quickly standing up and raced outside while leaving behind a trail of blue blur, almost knocking everything down.
"Wait up, Sonic!" Tails cried out as he, Amy, Sun, Star, and even Sir, Charles, Jules and Bernadette hurried to follow the hero of Mobius.
The sixteen year old raced out of the house to investigate to see what was going on and stopped in the middle of the clearing and gazed at the sky. He gasped in shock and confusion when he saw multiple shooting stars raining down from the sky along with some kind of starry light-show of strange portals in the distance of the planet opening up in space, five in total as though something was about to emerge from them.
"What's going on?" Sonic wondered, bewildered.
He wasn't the only one noticing the strange phenomenon as all across the planet, everyone saw this starry event and most, remembering previous times of invasions, well okay, only one which was the Black Arms attack lead by Black Doom and that shook everyone in Mobius to the core over that memory as well as the non-alien attack of the Hybrians lead by Dr. Starline, began to panic and most ran inside their homes or just random buildings for shelter. Even the rest of Sonic's friends noticed this as well and were just as confused...
Well, almost all of them, because the Chaotix were fast asleep and didn't hear or see what the commotion was about since they were inside their Chaotix Agency building.
But Knuckles certainly did as, while sleeping at the bottom of the stairs of the altar on Angel Island and snoring, until the light show startled him awake. The red echidna gasped and jolted upright when he saw what was happening, his mouth gaped open as he saw the shooting-stars across the sky and the strange portals which formed into strangely familiar sphere-shaped planet-sized objects.
"What now?" The Guardian of the Master Emerald muttered, shocked.
Even Shadow and the rest of Team Dark noticed this and frowned in concern. The black hedgehog had his arms folded to his chest, wondering what was happening.
Back in the Mystic Ruins, the rest of Sonic's family caught up to him as they all watched, with Bernadette asking worriedly. "What is happening?"
"What's this?" Jules wondered in disbelief.
They all gasped as the portals disappeared, leaving behind five familiar planets floating around Mobius, which Sonic, Tails and Amy recognized, their eyes widening in disbelief as they recognized them.
"No way!" Sonic cried out, unable to believe what just happened.
"It can't be!" Tails exclaimed.
"Why are all of those planets back?" Amy asked.
"Wait, you mean those planets are the ones you guys talked about?" Sun asked his brothers and friend, as the trio nodded.
"Look!" Star exclaimed, pointing upward, causing the four other Mobians to look back up towards the sky.
To everyone's horror, a couple of shooting stars was aiming straight towards them in high speed.
"Look out!" Jules shouted, as he shoved Sir Charles and Bernadette to the ground while Sonic and Sun both did the same with Tails, Amy and Star.
"Duck!" The teenage hero exclaimed, throwing himself over his best friend and girlfriend, everyone's hearts racing as they braced themselves for impact, wondering what was going to happen while Sonic thought that someone horrible was bringing these worlds back and causing such a new dangerous problem, but not certain who or why.
Fortunately, the shooting stars didn't crash land into them or even at all. Because once the lights reached where the family was, each of them across the planet in different areas and even across the five worlds that were teleported back into the Mobius solar system, with people also bracing themselves and hidden, the stars faded as the spheres of energy vanished and revealed familiar adorable creatures. Three that appeared all of the sudden, Yacker, Cutie, and the Cobalt Jumping Wisp, all moaning and squeaking at the wild ride they unexpectedly endured.
Hearing the high-pitched squeeling moans, Sonic, Tails, Amy, Sun, Star, Jules, Bernadette and Sir Charles all hesitantly looked up while standing and found, to their surprise and confusion, were the familiar aliens whose eyes were rolling in daze with stars circling their heads.
"Yacker!?" Sonic, Tails and Amy exclaimed in shock, recognizing the cutest little alien ever.
"That's the good alien you guys talked about?" Sun asked, surprised that these aliens, weird looking, are actually cuter than he thought.
Sonic hurried over just as Yacker and the other two aliens nearly fell and gently caught them in his arms, cradling them as he asked. "What happened? You guys look like you just had a wild ride or somethin'."
Tails and Amy hurried over as the former gently checked their heads carefully before saying. "They seem to be okay. Just probably dizzy from the crazy and out of control teleport or whatever just happened."
"The poor things look so dazed. How did this happen?" Amy asked, worriedly, just as Sun, Star, and the adult hedgehogs walked over for a closer look.
"Oooh, they're all so cute." Star cooed happily, yet concerned for their well being as well.
"They're as adorable as a button." Bernadette remarked softly.
"But, how did they get here?" Sun asked, baffled.
"The only way to find out is to get them inside so they can get some rest. I got a feeling something crazy happened." Sonic decided, gently cradling the three aliens in his arms, just as they began to recover and looked up, even though Yacker was the first to regain his senses.
"%$$...#$% #%$^ ...(Oooooh...My head...)" Yacker moaned, placing a tentacle-hand to his head, before shaking it and found that he and his younger brother and sister were in the warm, strong but thin and gentle arms, looking up to see the familiar face of a blue hedgehog who's emerald green eyes were gazing at the three of them in concern.
Sonic smiled softly, feeling relieved that his and Tails' favorite Wisp was alright. "Hi, Yacker. Long time no see."
Surprised to see the teenage hero of Mobius and somehow realizing that he was on Mobius, the cute curl-headed Wisp beamed happily and nuzzled his head into the blue hedgehog's chest while Cutie and Jumper, beginning to recover as well and then saw that they were in the safe arms of their hero they have heard of and met two months ago, squealed in surprise and then copied their older brother's gesture, making the cobalt teenager laugh as he carefully hugged them back, with Tails joining in.
"Aw, we missed ya' guys too." Sonic happily said.
"It's so good to see you guys again!" Tails added, giggling while everyone else, Amy being the only one not fully surprised, all smiled at the heart-warming reunion.
"Extraordinary. The Wisps are more adorable and friendly than I thought." Uncle Chuck stated as this was the first time he was seeing the gentle little aliens, as it was for Jules and Bernadette.
"I'm starting to really think they're much like Chao, only alien." Jules agreed.
As Sonic and Tails were reunited with Yacker and the two Wisps they met once during their second visit to the aliens' home world, the five of them then stopped as the Wisps floated up from the blue hedgehog's arms.
"What brings you guys here? I wasn't expecting to see you 'til at least in a couple of days." Sonic asked, shrugging in slight confusion.
Yacker, Cutie and the Jumping Wisp shared glances as the latter two felt relieved to hear this, knowing that the cute female light-yellow Wisp had been right even as the curl-headed Wisp gazed at his younger siblings while asking them what happened.
"Judging by the looks, I'd say not even Yacker knows what just happened either." Amy remarked, making Sonic fold his arms in concern.
"I think we should continue this inside since my Miles Electric is in my lab." Tails suggested.
The blue hedgehog nodded in agreement. "Yeah, good idea. Plus these two little guys, or the little blue guy and little girl look pretty spooked."
"More like they know something happened and feel bad." Sun corrected as he and Star approached, and true to his word, both Cutie and Jumper looked guilt-ridden while Yacker looked shocked when he heard from them what just happened, before the white Wisp facepalmed himself and shook his head.
"Uh-oh...I think you're right, Sun." Sonic muttered worriedly, seeing that the former Werehog had a point.
Whatever did happen, it must be serious and he hoped that nothing horrible was going on.
Once the eight Mobians and three Wisps retreated back into the house, Tails quickly went into his lab and returned with his translator, as Yacker, Cutie and Jumper explained just happened, and the seven hedgehogs and fox cub sat in the living room to hear the story.
"What did they say, Tails?" Star asked, curiously.
"Hmm...Yacker says, "Everything's been peaceful for the last couple of months since the last visit. Mama even brought up more kids with new kinds of powers in the last few weeks, including Wisps, called the Star-Beams which have the power to anything they want, create beams of light, to heal wounds faster than the rest of the Wisps could, and can even grant wishes, certain simple wishes"." Tails translated.
"Star-Beams?" Amy asked, surprised.
"That sounds pretty cool. Though I'm getting things are becoming more lively lately, huh?" Sonic remarked, and Yacker nodded before continuing to explain, which Tails translated.
"He says, "Yes, everything's been so busy, I'm worried that Mama might exhaust herself and I've been pretty tired too that we both deserve a vacation, but can't since we have to watch over the newer Wisps. Problem is, it's the Time of Birth, which she has to do every few months once every fifteen years. Except today, something happened with some of the new Wisps and it's involved with Spirit"."
"Spirit?" The blue hedgehog blinked.
Cutie and the Jumping Wisps then spoke, looking quite guilt-ridden as they explained in Wisp language on what was going on, which made the nine year old fox sweat drop worriedly.
"Uh...these two little ones know. They said, "Spirit is one of the Jade-Ghost Wisps and the most rebellious Wisp out of all of us. Today the three of us and some others including other Star-Makers and Jumping Wisps were talking about how you two guys didn't visit us sooner, and we both knew that you couldn't since you guys were busy. But they all wanted to see you and even wanted to explore the worlds and meet new people"."
That made the family gasp softly, and Sonic lowered his gaze a little with slight guilt, before saying to the two. "I'm sorry. Didn't mean to make you guys wait for so long. We were having a bit of trouble trying to visit and we have been busy. Tails and I did want to come to visit you, I swear."
Yacker and the other two Wisps shook their heads while the former hovered over and gently patted Sonic on the head to reassure him that it wasn't his fault, and he smiled sadly at him, while Cutie and Jumper continued to explain what happened.
""So Spirit got this really crazy idea to 'liven things up' in all of the planets we've visited including Mobius, to show the universe that we can all live together. With the help of the Jumping Wisps and Star-Beams Wisps, Spirit thought it would be easy and fun, and wanted you two guys to stay with us forever, saying that Mama and big brother Yacker were dumb to let you both go"." Tails translated, gasping in shock as did the rest of his family, and even Yacker flinched in disbelief.
"What!?" Sonic exclaimed. "Spirit just called your brother Yacker and your Mom dumb!? What kind of a brother is he?"
"What a horrible thing to say to your mother!" Bernadette exclaimed, shocked and in disapproval. Her husand, brother-in-law, her sons and two of the boys' girlfriends were all in agreement.
Cutie nodded and babbled once more.
"This little gal agrees with Mom, saying, "That's what I said, after Speed said it wasn't right!"." Tails translated, and the Jumping Wisp, named Speed, nodded to confirm it, still angered over what Spirit just said.
The two Wisps then continued explaining and concluded on what just happened which made sense now that Yacker thought about it, as did Tails who continued, "They say that, "But Spirit didn't listen and instead he and the other Wisps who liked his idea flew away and used their powers from the other Jumping Wisps and Star-Beams to combine them and like how our family did in taking the worlds back to where they came from before Baldy Nosehair came to cause trouble, they brought all of us here and spread out some of us across the planets including Mobius, because the next thing we know, we found ourselves here and found all of you. Or you guys found us"."
"Oh man...Wisp or not, I'm starting to worry that Spirit is acting kinda like Eggman and he's been gone for three and a half months already." Sonic groaned, rubbing the back of his neck. While he was relieved that there weren't anybody else causing this mess, the fact that some of the Wisps missed him and Tails so much that they decided to take it into their own little cute tentacles to 'liven things up'.
Speed nodded in agreement, which Tails translated, "He says, "I already told him that he was acting like Baldy Nosehair in the stories"."
"Well, there is always one rebelling member of every family that drive everybody else on edge." Jules pointed out, shrugging. "But even then, I wasn't that bad when I was a kid."
"Dad, compared to Eggman's twice as evil Ro-butt-nik brother who killed their own father years ago, what you did was totally harmless." His son pointed out, placing a finger to his forehead.
"I think anybody who were bad to their own siblings were all harmless compared to what Julius did. But that besides the point." The two-tailed fox said. "If Spirit and the aliens who are with him caused all of this, they're only just going to cause a lot of panic across Mobius and I'm worried what would the government would do if they mistake the Wisps for like with Black Arms."
Sonic and the others gasped softly in realization, before the hero of Mobius unconsciously rubbed his right arm in the fear of what could happen. "You're right, and if Shadow and Rouge didn't tell GUN what happened when they reported how Eggman died, the Wisps are in big danger despite that a lot of people here are friendly. But...if there those like Narasu who hated Mobians, Eggman or that creep Starline, it's gonna be really awful."
He sighed as another realization formed in his mind, his heart sinking and seeping in pain of the guilt that began to rise, memories of how all of this happened formed in his mind.
Sighing before shaking his head to stop himself from falling into that guilt trip again, he nodded as he said. "I guess we'll have to find the Wisps and bring them back home to their world before everybody here gets the wrong idea."
"It's going to be easy, Sonny Boy. These Wisps could be everywhere by now." Sir Charles cautioned.
"I don't care." Sonic responded, his eyes narrowing in determination to set things right. "I've been around the world putting it back together with Tails, Sun and Chip, and I've been to other planets saving them from Eggman's generators. I won't let anybody get hurt or end up going through a misunderstanding."
He turned to Yacker, Cutie and Speed while standing up and said to them with a smirk. "Don'tcha worry, guys. I'll help in finding your friends and family like I did before and we'll make sure there won't be any problems. I promise!"
"Me too, and you're gonna need transport and translating to help." Tails added.
"An adventure to save the Wisps and the worlds to help every realize how cute and kind they are. Can anything be more romantic?" Amy said dreamily, her hands clasped together.
"Well, if you guys are going, then count me in." Sun decided with a smirk. "Been meaning to have another adventure with you anyway."
"I wouldn't miss an adventure like this!" Star said excitedly.
"We'll stay here and see if we can't help in calming everybody in Station Square down." Jules decided, adding. "If Ferrell is still around, Charles and I will join up with him on our own."
"I agree. It's been years since you and I have been on our own adventures." Charles chuckled.
"I may not be as young as I used to be, but you boys will need someone to keep an eye on two you. I'm worried about all of my babies including our future daughters-in-law, but I have a feeling the children will be just fine." Bernadette giggled, making everyone somewhat in embarrassed.
"Mom!" Sonic, Tails and Sun all exclaimed, as they, Amy, Star, Jules and Uncle Chuck blushed heavily.
"Bernie!" The male adult hedgehog scolded.
"Sorry, dears." The female adult hedgehog giggled.
Yacker, Cutie and Speed, seeing how the Mobians were much like themselves and their family, and that Sonic's mother, who was also the mother of Tails and Sun through adoption, was similar to their Mama, all hovered and flew around the hero of Mobius as they wanted to join in on the adventure.
"They say they want to come too to help their brothers, sisters and friends to understand and stop them from getting into trouble." Tails explained through translation.
"Great! Then it's settled. We're going to save everyone before there's big trouble! Mobius and Space, here we come again!" Sonic declared, after the embarrassment wore off and he pointed up to the ceiling. Everyone around him cheered.
"It's best we get started in the morning since it is getting late." Jules advised.
"Your father's right. We should rest for the night." Uncle Chuck agreed.
Everyone else nodded in agreement, even as Cutie looked worried while Speed and Yacker tried to comfort her. Amy noticed this before approaching them and said softly. "Don't worry, sweetie. Everything will be okay."
The pink hedgehog gently patted the female Wisp who gazed at her, then shyly beamed at her and nuzzled on her muzzle, making the thirteen year old giggle. "Oh, you're so cute!"
With that thought in mind, and Sonic and Tails allowing the Wisps to sleep with them for the night, everyone went to bed to begin their new quest in the morning, knowing that it was going to be tricky.
But they also knew that they had to do it, for the sake of all worlds and everyone in them.
A/N: Unlike my other stories which are based on other Sonic media, with the previous stories of this universe being adaptions of Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colours, Sonic and the Black Knight(the Sonic's Camelot Adventure Arc in "Sonic in Between"), Sonic 06(a better version of the game), and Sonic Generations(which I still need to finish, sorry), this story is an original sequel with some elements of the other Sonic media slipped in here and there.
The next chapter will see Sonic's group begin their quest.
