The Dungeon underneath Orario was dangerous, it was a common fact that every one knew. Only those that had the blessings from the Gods could hope to traverse it's depths and even fewer could make it down even further than the few couple of floors.

As such those that were not strong enough would stay on the floors above, as that was where the weaker monsters resided and where those with the Gods blessings could grow stronger until they themselves could march into the lower floors and take down even stronger monsters.

At least that was how it should be. Sometimes, life was not fair…

"AAHHHHHHHHHHH"

And it was not fair for Bell Cranel. A mere Level 1 Adventurer who had just merely starting his life as said Adventurer, who was now running for his life.

From a Minotaur.

Often times these monsters would move up the floors, it was a danger that could happen and those that were nowhere near the strength or ability to handle them would be the victims of such events. And at the absence of strong Adventurers to kill, those who were weak would be the victims.

"SAVE MEEEEEE!"

Bell continued to run, one hand holding a dagger that he know would be worthless against the rock hard skin of the Minotaur. In the other he held a golden cup, it was a treasure that he had found while in the dungeons and when he saw it he thought that his luck would change.

It did change, for the worst, as the moment he picked it up the Minotaur appeared around the corner and charged at him.

And so Bell ran, and the Minotaur gave chase

But the young boy could not run forever, and he would either collapse from the uneven footing or he would fall from his own exhaustion. The boy tripped, his panic only growing as he rolled on the ground before his back slammed against the ground.

His world went dark for a moment before her opened his eyes, and saw the Minotaur standing before him. A squeak of fear escaped his throat, watching the monsters stand angrily and hungrily before him.

Bell shut his eyes, holding out his hands in front of him with the vague hope that it would save him.

He desperately, and so desperately wished to be saved.

It was then he felt it, it was as if the world around him exploded with magic and Bell could feel it in his bones. He opened his eyes, and saw the back of a young blonde man wearing gold and black armour, in one hand holding a sword. The man lifted his head, and upon seeing the Minotaur in front of him.

"AHHHH!"

Screamed just as loudly as he did upon seeing it. The moment he did, the monster swung its weapon.

But to Bell's shock, it missed entirely. The attack was so fast that Bell couldn't even register it, but he saw the man duck underneath it. The Minotaur brought its weapon and brought it down, only to miss again.

Bell watched it utter fascination as the man seemed to dance around it, screaming the whole time. None of the swings connected, none of its attacks hit, and all the while he kept screaming the whole time. When the Minotaur, stopped, the man stopped his screaming and instead glared angrily at the monster.

He pointed his blade towards the monster and shouted something he couldn't understand.

Almost immediately afterwards, the monster exploded into red chunks as the around them shook like an earthquake had happened. Bell could only vaguely see the outline of a massively muscular man, blurry and unfocused, before it vanished.

The fascination in Bell's eye turned to awe at the display, his eyes looked into the panicked expression of the man. He seemingly noticed his look and turned to him, panting with wide eyes.

"You," He spoke gravely as he walked towards him "I ask you…"

Bell continued to look at him with awe, even as the blonde grabbed him by the shoulders and started shaking him from side to side.

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG YOU?!" He screamed in his face, the panic in his eyes turned to anger "WHAT KIND OF MASTER SUMMONS A SERVANT WHEN THEY GET ATTACKED?!"

Bell was tossed aside as the man pulled on his blonde hair and started screaming, both towards him and to the world in general "Don't you know how painful it is to die?! I could have been crushed by that monster, you buffoon you absolute moron."

The awe finally vanished as Bell looked at his saviour screaming obscenities around him.

[Scene]

"Do we really have to do this?" Bell asked as he, his Goddess, and the newly summoned Servant, who called himself Jason of the Argonauts, stood before a magical circle that one of Jason's 'friends' had carved into the floor.

At first Bell had been enamoured by the fact that he called himself an Argonaut

"You mean you're THE Argonauts?!"

"Well what can I say, even my legends are here. Indeed, I am an Argonaut! You must've heard of our many stories hahaha!"

"Is it true, that you travelled with so many Heroes and fought many monsters?!"

"Hahaha! Of course, what kind of Hero would I be if I hadn't? I fought many monsters, and every Hero worth their salt joined me!"

"Then you must have also fought and killed the Minotaur and other monsters like that!"

"Yes yes, I indeed killed th- what?"

Only for him to confused when he told him that he wasn't THE Argonaut and was instead the captain of the Argos that carried the crew of the Argonauts.

It was a story that was nothing like he had read before and even Hestia, his Goddess, was sceptical.

"Of course we do," Jason eyes narrowed into a glare "I'm not gonna be on the freakin' frontlines fighting!" He pointed at the spell on the ground "So summon someone else so that I can tell them what to do!"

"Why not just use your friends that you can summon?" Hestia asked, crossing her arms under her chest "They seem more than capable."

He turned to her, the glare vanished as he looked away just as quickly "Well… Goddess Hestia, of the Hearth and Home and Family." Both of them looked slightly surprised at the sudden tone change "They… Don't like me too much, and I feel like if I keep summoning them, they'll just get pissed off."

"Aren't you their captain?" Hestia asked again.

"Yeah," he growled and pouted, like a child "I am." He shook his head "Look, doesn't matter just summon your next Servant, we need someone who can fight better on either the frontlines or at least someone who can stay next to me for support!"

Bell sighed, before he walked to the summon circle. He looked down at the parchment in his hand, where Jason had written the spell, and spoke it.

A moment later the church was glowing brightly as he spoke each verse.

Until finally, the Servant was summoned with a flash of bright white light.

Bell had to tilt his head up a bit as the one he had summoned was taller than he was.

The first thing that came to Bell's mind was 'Pirate' it was as if the sight of the man before him was just synonymous with the name and concept. It didn't help that his attire, the large coat that he seem to hung over his shoulder, seemed to reinforce that image as well.

The newly summoned Servant looked down at Bell, there was a steely look in his eyes that was made much more intimidating by the black beard on his face.

A smile stretched over his face "Du fu fu fu fu…" As he gave a rather deep throaty laugh.

Bell felt that the air was more than a little heavy. The presence of the man before him, seemingly weighing him down as he looked him in the eye.

Before the weight vanished when the man suddenly grinned as his eyes went wide.

"Hellooooo there Master!" One of his hand was grabbed by the larger man and Bell found himself stumbling as the man violent shook his hand "Edward Teach! Or Blackbeard, if you prefer, is at your service, and all the more excited to be at the service of a Light Novel Protagonist!"

Bell blinked as he was finally released from the man's grip, he looked up at him with a "Huh?"

The man looked around, seeing the state of the church with a hum of the throat "As expected, starting at the absolute bottom before you get your OP power-up". Before his eyes landed on the disgusted face of Jason.

"Ugh," The blonde's hand met his face "Of all people, why did you get summoned?!"

"Jason!" A rather mock look of anger appeared on Edward's face "My rival!"

"I'm not you-"

"Of course I'd be summoned here in the world of a Light Novel!" The man threw his arm around Bell, the smaller boy letting out a surprised cry "And best of all, I get to help the protagonist be the best Hero of all time. Who knows, maybe this is one of the stories where the side-character also gets to have his own harem of beauties!"

"Harem?!" Both Bell and Hestia exclaimed in shock.

Teach just grinned with his eyes shut.

Bell couldn't help but shake his head at the appearance of this goofy pirate and at the annoyed look of the captain.
