Chapter 1

(Tatooin Shopping Center)

The Sludge Villain had Katsuki Bakugo hostage.

The heroes such as Backdraft and Kamui Woods were putting out fires and rescuing civilians. Fires that Katsuki was starting using his Explosion quirk to try and get out of the Sludge-like body of the villain.

Death Arms and the other heroes like Mt Lady couldn't get close to rescue the boy.

Even Death Arms punches couldn't affect the Sludge Villain.

Various people were standing around and watching this event. The news media, civilians, including a skinny blond-haired man who looked like a walking skeleton and a large bald man wearing a cloak and hood.

It was then that these two men suddenly saw a plain-looking boy with shaggy green hair rush through the crowd, break past the Pro-Heroes, and race over towards the Sludge villain and the captured boy.

(Calling Katsuki a friend would have been ridiculous.)

Izuku Midoriya threw his bag against the Sludge villain, smashing him in the face and distracting him enough while he plunged his hands into the sludge creeps body.

He grabbed Katsuki and began to pull with all his might.

"Deku? What The FUGG! are you doing?" Katsuki shouted, spitting sludge out of his mouth.

"I Don't Know! My Legs, My Body, Reacted On Their Own!" Izuku shouted as he managed to get a grip on Katsuki's arm.

Hit in the face, the Sludge villain's concentration was lost, enabling Izuku to pull the blond boy out of his body.

He two boys landed in front of the Sludge villain as he recovered.

He pulled a couple pencils out of his eyes as he stared at the green-haired kid.

"You again?!" he snarled. "I'll kill you this time!"

Izuku grabbed Katsuki and pulled him to his feet as he ran away from the Sludge Villain. The villain lunged at the pair as the Pro-Heroes finally leapt into action.

"Stop Him!" Slugger shouted.

"Save The Boys!" Death Arms shouted.

Suddenly, a large figure appeared between the boys and the Sludge Villain, causing everyone to pause.

It was All Might!

"Detroit..."

"Oh, no! Not Again!" the Sludge Villain groaned in dismay.

"...SMASH!"

The forceful explosion that was unleashed knocked and splattered the villain across the walls of the shops, while creating a whirlwind that blew nearly everyone off their feet.

Then... it started to rain.

"He changed the weather... with a single punch." Death Arms said in surprise.

The crowd of people just stared in shock at what had happened. All eyes were on All Might.

However, one pair of eyes was standing by and watching someone else. Specifically the young boy with the green hair.

He watched as the reporters conducted interviews with All Might, while the heroes rounded up the Sludge Villain into plastic bags and handed him over to the police.

He watched as the heroes also praised Katsuki for his bravery while admonishing Izuku for his reckless actions.

He was close enough to hear what they were saying and it wasn't very nice.

"You stupid kid! You could have gotten yourself killed!" Death Arms shouted.

"You should not have gotten in our way!" another hero chided the boy.

"Hey, man, you were pretty brave handling that SLudge villain." Slugger praised to Katsuki. "You got real potential as a hero. Hey, when you graduate come by my agency."

Izuku knew why they were doing this. They were praising Katsuki and chastising him, because he was quirkless. Even though Katsuki was panicking the whole time and lighting everything on fire and causing so much damage with his quirk, no one had done anything to save him, and yet they were praising him.

And they were cutting Izuku down with harsh remarks and criticism for actually doing a better job than them.

That was when HE made his move.

"It was reckless and dangerous." Death Arms said.

"You got in our way!" the other hero stated.

"And he did better than you." a large man in the hood and cloak said.

The heroes and the two teens turned to look at the man. He was tall, muscular, bald with tanned skin, black eyes, wearing a black skintight bodysuit with yellow bracers on his wrists and a matching boots, He had a black hood and cloak wrapped around his body. His most distinguishing feature was the yellow lightning bolt on his chest.

"He saved that boy, while you stood around and did nothing. And as for that boys bravery..." the man said as he pointed to Katsuki, "...he was screaming and panicking and throwing explosions all around the place, setting everything on fire with his quirk. And yet you praise him and not the boy who showed you up. I suppose that's typical." he said as he pointed to Izuku. "This boy, without powers, saved the other boy while you were standing around just watching. I mean... what was your plan? Wait for someone else, like All Might, to show up and save them?"

The heroes just stared at the man in shock, wondering who the heck he was.

"And you call yourselves heroes?" he asked.

"Now wait a minute! We had a plan!" the other hero said.

"Yeah. Watch while a teenager was being held hostage and probably could have been smothered to death while you were standing around waiting for someone else to save him." the man remarked.

He then pointed to Izuku.

"This boy showed courage and initiative and actually saved his classmate while you stood around doing nothing. Yet, you cut him down for doing what you could not, and praise this other boy for courage when he was clearly scared out of his mind?" the man said.

"I-I wasn't scared! And he didn't save me!" Katsuki shouted at the man, while pointing at Izuku.

"Really? Then who was it that pulled you out of the Sludge villain's body? Them? All Might? Or was it him?" the man asked. "You should be praising him for doing what you could not."

"Yeah, well, he's quirkless! So..."

"Oh, so just because he doesn't have power, he is admonished for his courage while the boy with the quirk, who panicked and lashed out with his quirk, burning most of the area around us, is praised for his bravery? Unbelievable."

He then approached Izuku, who could almost compare the man's physique to that of All Might.

"My name is Black Adam, and I deem you worthy of my power. What is your name?"

"I-Izuku. Midoriya Izuku." the green-haired boy replied.

"Well, Izuku Midoriya, I have an offer for you. Come with me." he said as he grabbed Izuku around his waist and lifted him up.

"Hey! Wait a minute!" Slugger souted.

"You can't just...!" Death Arms shouted.

"What are you doing?" Izuku asked.

Before anyone, especially All Might, could do anything, the large bald man leapt into the air... and flew away at incredible speed.

"What... the?" Death Arms gasped.

"What happened? Where's the boy?" All Might asked.

"He... that other guy. He just grabbed the kid and took off." Slugger said.

"He flew out of here like a shot! I..." Death Arms said.

"Who did? Did he say what his name was?" All Might asked.

"He... said his name was... Black Adam." Death Arms replied.

"Black... Adam?" All Might gasped. "OH, NO!"

With that All Might left the area in a hurry.

Within several seconds, the pair were on the outskirts of the city. Black Adam landed in a large wooden area and set a heavy-breathing and flustered Izuku Midoriya down.

"What... How... Where Are... Why...?" Izuku gasped.

So many questions were racing through his mind.

"Slow down and start over. I know you must have questions." Black Adam said.

"I... what do you want with me?" he asked.

"I wish... to give you... my powers." Adam said slowly.

"P-P-Powers? Me? But why?"

"Because I believe you are worthy of them."

"Them? You have more than one quirk? How is that possible? And who are you?"

"The power I possess is not a quirk. And yes, I have more than one." the man said.

"But how can I receive your powers? It's impossible to transfer a quirk to another person, isn't it?"

"If it was in fact a quirk. But no. It isn't a quirk. It is the power of the Gods. Magic."

"Magic? But... I don't understand." Izuku said, trying to comprehend what he was being told.

"And it would take too long for me to explain properly and you to understand." he said as he knelt in front of the boy who was still sitting on the ground. "My son, Hurut, was once bestowed with incredible power. The powers of the Egyptian Gods. The Stamina of Shu - which is virtually unlimited. The swiftness of Horus - enabling me to fly at fantastic speeds. The strength of Amon - making me one of the strongest people on the planet. The wisdom of Zehuti - enabling me to know and understand many things, including other languages. The power of Aten - from which my magic lightning is derived. And the courage of Mehen - which enables me to face anyone no matter who they are."

Izuku listened intently as the man, Black Adam, laid all this out. He really wanted to whip out his notebook and write this all down.

"He gave me his powers to save my life. But his own life was cut short by his enemies. Since then I have tried to honor his sacrifice, but it has been many, many years, and... I wish to retire. I can only do this, by passing on my powers."

"Pass them on? To me? But how?" Izuku asked.

"Say this with me. S-H-A-Z-A-M." he spelled out.

"S-H-A-Z-A-M." he repeated. "Sha-zam?" Izuku said, putting the letters together.

"It is the name of the wizard responsible for my powers. Take my hands and say the name with me. And they will be transferred to you." he said, holding his hands out to the boy.

Izuku still couldn't believe he was hearing all this.

"You are worthy of my powers, Izuku Midoriya. I saw your courage when you leapt in to save that other boy, when all others stood by and did nothing. Say the name with me and inherit them all."

Izuku looked at the man he didn't know, yet for obvious reasons he would jump at the chance to have a quirk. Any quirk.

Was this a trick? A Scam? What did this man get by giving a quirkless boy like him all of his powers?

His body acting without thought, Izuku took his hands, which felt a little odd to him, all the while his mind racing at all the possibilities.

He would get powers? Magic powers? That weren't a quirk? And was he truly worthy?

"SHAZAM/SHAZAM!" they said in unison.

A flash of lightning covered the area and when Izuku looked again, the large man in black was gone, replaced by a much skinnier man who was wearing a white skirt and sandals. The man collapsed to his knees, his body sagging as if being dragged down by the Earth itself.

However, when Izuku looked down at himself, he was the most changed.

He was as tall and muscular as the man himself had been, his outfit changed from a black school uniform into a skintight dark green outfit with a yellow lightning bolt on his chest and a white cape around his neck. He had gold arm bracers on his wrists and goldish boots on his feet.

He looked to be in similar stature to All Might, his green hair still covering his head.

"It is... done." the man said as he fell to his side, unable to sit up any more.

"Sir? SIR!"

Suddenly, a heavy object landed just a few feet from them. Izuku looked over and saw All Might standing in the middle of a large crater.

"I found you! What happened?" he asked as he raced over to the pair.

He looked between the man lying on the ground and the muscular young man who was kneeling before him.

"Teth-Adam? What did you... did you give your powers to Young Midoriya?" All Might asked.

"Yes. I have judged him to be worthy of the power of the Gods." the man said weakly. "Train him well, All Might. My time is done. After all these centuries, I go to meet my family in the afterlife." he said with a smile as his body suddenly went limp.

"What just happened?" Izuku asked the Number One Pro-Hero.

All Might was silent for several seconds, feeling a deep sense of loss, on more than one level.

"Teth-Adam had judged you worthy to inherit his powers, and so it is done. And now it falls to me to educate you on your new abilities."

All Might picked up the body of the man called Teth-Adam and stood up.

"We need to give this man a proper burial. I'll need your help." he said.

Izuku just nodded.

Once the body of Teth-Adam was buried, in an isolated and peaceful looking place in the forest, the pair returned to Musutafu. They arrived back in Izuku's neighborhood just as All Might quickly deflated and was back to his skinny almost skeletal form.

"All Might... what... what is going on? Who was that man? What did he do to me? He kept saying I was worthy and told me why, but... am I really? He said he gave me the powers of the Gods. But which Gods? I've never heard of Shu, or Amon or Zehuti! Did you know him?" Izuku fired off question after question.

"There is a lot to explain. But first and foremost let me some-up all of this. The man that you met and who gave you his powers, was named Teth-Adam, and he's been alive for over 5000 years." Toshinori said.

"He... what?"

"Yes. Over 5000 years ago he was given incredible magical powers by his son, Hurut, who was originally chosen as the Champion of the people of Kahndaq, which was located near Egypt. Hurut was given these powers by the Council of Wizards, who deemed him worthy to wield the power of the Egyptian gods. But Hurut gave his powers to his dying father, Teth-Adam, to save his life when he and his wife were attacked by assassins of a ruthless king named Ahk-Not. Enraged by this, Teth-Adam used his powers to lash out at the people who killed his son and oppressed his people. Because of this, the Council of Wizards deemed Teth-Adam unworthy and imprisoned him in a tomb in Kahndaq and for five thousand years he laid there. Essentially asleep. Until he was released from his tomb by the oppressed people of Kahndaq who needed a hero."

Izuku listened intently as All Might talked.

"After a lot of fighting and soul-searching Teth-Adam decided to become the hero his son had been. He became Black Adam, protector of Kahndaq. He was around when the first Quirks of man came to be. I met him years ago, fought against him and with him. He became a trusted friend afterwards. And now... he has passed his legacy on to you."

Izuku wasn't sure how to take that. He felt honored and humbled at the same time.

He looked at his hands and clenched his fists.

"He said... I was worthy... to inherit his power." Izuku said. "I... I didn't even know him. And he didn't know me."

"No. But that's beside the point. You are worthy, Young Midoriya. In fact, I would have given you my power as well, but that is neither here nor there."

Izuku looked up at the man, shocked.

"You... your power? Really? You... you can give away your quirk?"

"Yes. But I'll explain that another day. Adam simply beat me to it. That being said, I need to help train you in how to use these powers of yours."

"Uh... okay. But... now?"

"No. First... I think we need to go and take you home. We need to talk to your parents, and..."

"Actually, it's just my mom."

"Okay, your mother then."

"Uh... this way." he said and started leading All Might to his apartment. "Wait! How am I going to explain this to mom? I mean... I don't look like myself."

"Oh, that's easy. Just say the word 'Shazam' and you'll transform back."

"Shazam."

KA-BOOM!

Izuku gasped and looked at himself. He was his own quirkless self once again, back in his school uniform and he even had his school backpack.

"I'm... I'm back to myself?"

"Yes. And completely powerless." All Might said. "This is important for you to understand because in this state you can be killed. And very easily."

Izuku gulped at hearing that.

"I'm sorry if that frightens you, but it is a very real possibility that heroes have to deal with. Especially you. But I will explain all that later. So, for now, let's get you home." he said. "Uh... where do you live again?"

"Uh... this is my apartment building." Izuku said with a laugh, realizing they were standing on the roof of his apartment building.
