Chapter One Hundred Sixty-Four
Our Little Boy Is Five
A/N – Well another holiday season is over and I hope you found it enjoyable. My intent was to continue to focus on the traditions being built and the anticipations of the future and what it will bring. As you most likely noticed, I spent a lot of time on the Bordens and how as individuals and a family they are growing in maturity and love for each other as well as the people around them. Amy and Ty are the foundation of my story and while I have built it I have included their children and what they are becoming. I was fortunate to have a foundation like that in my life and have completely enjoyed emulating that with the Bordens. Well it is time for JT's 5th party. It astounds me when I realize that during the time frame of this story he was born and is now 5 years old. Although his birthday will control most of the writing I plan to sneak in a couple of more Borden things as well. I have come to the realization that I am almost finished with this part of my story and am excited about my sequel that is starting to be developed. I hope readers continue to enjoy The Borden Family Legacy and are looking forward to my yet unnamed sequel focusing a little more on our young couple in love. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them! Anyway enjoy and don't stop telling me what you think. Mature Content Enjoy!
As Amy and Ty cuddled, the morning was waking up around them. They heard the kids mulling about getting ready for school and finally decided to get up. Ty had promised a big breakfast so he went down to start cooking while Amy checked on how the kids were progressing. It had been a great holiday for all of them but reality had set in and it was back to work and school. Amy went to see Lyndy, who was finally feeling better. She was deciding what to wear as it was cold and remnants of the big snow still remained. After a consult from her mom she picked out what she was wearing and smiled meekly. Amy asked, "Is everything Ok honey?" She smiled and hugged her, "Yea. You know Wyatt was amazing while I was sick and I feel so bad I ruined New Year's Eve. I want to do something to make it up to him." Amy smiled, "Well we are lucky because we have two guys who would do anything for us and I don't think he expects anything. Why don't you guys just go out Friday, maybe dinner and a movie, that is always fun. In fact, why don't you go to the nice Italian restaurant in town, it will be on us. We owe him too since he took such good care of you." Lyndy smiled, "I will ask him this morning on the way to school." Amy then checked on the twins who had just started to get dressed. She smiled noticing that although completely identical, there clothes evolution had taken them in different directions. Annie tended to be more of a dress, skirt and frilly to kind of girl and Addie was defiantly not. She wore a dresses but tended to be more of a jeans and collared shirt kind of girl, actually a lot like her mom. She gave them each a hug and headed to see Maddie, who she knew would be much more dramatic. She took clothes selection to a whole new level and when Amy came in her room she saw a bed full of different clothes combinations. She laughed, "You know Mads, you probably need to do this the night before." She huffed, "Well I did but changed my mind." Amy smiled looking over the options, "Let's see, I like this one, it is not to fancy but nice and these colors are perfect for you." She blushed, "This is Ricky's favorite color on me, he always tells be I look nice in purple." Amy put her arm around her daughter, "Well than I think this one will do and by the way, your dad likes me in blue." She raised her eyes, "Hello mom, like everyone knows that." As she stepped out she saw Wyatt getting ready to knock on Lyndy's door and said good morning. She added, "Thanks for taking care of our little girl, I guess that New Years Eve was kind of a bummer." He smiled warmly, "It was perfect because I was with her, sick or not. I know she was kind of upset so I thought we may make it up and go on a date Friday." Amy laughed, "Well great minds think alike, so you may want to let her ask you, we kind of talked about it." He smiled and looked at her seriously, "You know she loves you a lot Mrs. Borden, I can see it when you guys are together. It is really nice." Amy was a little dumbfounded by his statement, not knowing what to say. She smiled and gave him a big hug, "Well she kind of loves you too." He smiled and tapped on the door as a happy Lyndy opened the door. She looked at the two of them, Are you guys Ok, you look a little flushed." Wyatt laughed, "No we were just talking about JT's party." He walked in and looked back to Amy with relief in his eyes.
She knew her last stop would be easy and JT was definitely not worried about what her wore. She came in and he was already dressed and sitting at his desk writing down something. He looked up and smiled at his mom, "Good morning mommy, it's my birthday week!" She laughed giving him a big hug, "Yes it is, are you excited?" He smiled broadly, "You bet, I am making a list of everything we need for the week and my parties. I think there will be 9 kids for the trip to the ropes place, did you send an email to their parents? Also don't forget, I need 4 dozen cupcakes for Friday. Oh and I understand that only Trent and Shawna are coming to the family party right? And I have to figure out when I am calling Grandma Lilly and Grandpa Max, can we do it at the party?" Amy smiled and put her hand on his shoulder, "Sweetie, everything is good and planned out. I have the cupcakes ordered and all of your friends parents have all confirmed they will be there. We can call grandma and grandpa whenever you want to." She smiled as they had just found out that Lilly was flying in to be at the party in person. "So everything is ready to go and you just have to have fun. You know turning 5 is a big deal." He seemed a little distraught after she said that. "Hey what's wrong buddy?" He put his head down. "I don't know but everyone in my class is already five and older than me, it is kind of embarrassing sometimes. Some of the kids make fun of how young I am." Realizing how this bothered him she pulled him into her lap. "Listen to me honey, you are amazing and age has nothing to do with that. You are thoughtful, caring and really smart. Those kids don't really know you but I know that your teachers are very proud of what you have accomplished, as well as dad and I are along with your sisters and Wyatt. GG thinks you are amazing too. You have nothing to be ashamed of, in fact you should be proud of what you have done so far." He got quiet and smiled into her chest, "That's what Grandma said last night when I saw her and GG Lyndy. They knew it had been bothering me and came to see me to make sure I was alright." He laughed, "GG Lyndy told me to tell those mean kids to mind their own business, and she said the next time they say it I should pop them in the kisser," Amy laughed realizing that was something she would say. He continued, "I had to ask her what that meant so she explained it to me. Grandma Marion got mad and told her she shouldn't tell me to hit someone. It was funny watching them argue. They also told me happy birthday and how proud they were of me. It was nice to see them." Amy sat wide eyed listening to him. It was as if they were in the room with him just having a conversation. Even though she understood what was happening, the shear awe of it still took her by surprise sometimes. Her eyes were misty when she heard him ask, "Mommy, are you Ok?" Amy smiled and hugged him. "I am good and your birthday weekend will be epic. I am just so happy that you can talk to grandma and GG. Can you tell them I said hi next time?" He smiled, "I always do." She smiled again and reminded him to hurry down to breakfast and headed down to see how Ty was doing.
Amy was the first one down as she saw her husband busily preparing breakfast for the kids. She walked up to him and smiled, hugging him from behind. He turned and immediately and saw her eyes still misty, "Hey Amy, what's wrong, are you Ok." She smiled and put her head down in his chest, "I am Ok, JT had a pretty detailed meeting with my mom and grandma and was telling me all about it. It was like he was talking to them as if they were in his room. The details and recall is amazing. He talked to them about turning five and how much younger he is than his classmates. You know some kids have been giving him trouble but they soothed him. In fact Grandma Lyndy told him to pop them in the nose and my mom scolded her. It's so hard to remember he is just five years old." She leaned into him as Ty spoke up, "He is an amazing young boy Amy and we should cherish him, for that fact cherish all of them. We are so lucky to have them and I am so lucky to have you." He leaned down to kiss her and it was perfect. Not realizing how long they kissed the girls came bounding down sighing and making puking noises. Maddie screamed, "Mom, dad really, this is not the way I want the new year to begin, watching you to making out." Addie added, I mean we know you love each other and it seems so does everyone else, but can you just cool it at least until we leave for school. Lyndy smiled, enjoying the love they shared as Wyatt and JT came down with JT yelling, "Let's eat!" Breakfast was fun with talk of the second half of the school year and of course JT's birthday. Annie laughed, "So JT, five years old, that is pretty cool." He smiled and looked at his mom, "Yep, it sure is and now through the weekend it is all about me!" Wyatt tickled him, "Whatever, it is always about you." Annie and Addie noticed he seemed a little off and could feel each other's thoughts. Addie spoke to him, "You know this doesn't leave this room but we are all very proud of you. You are an amazing brother and a pretty cool kid. We all agree that you are a keeper." JT smiled broadly and went to hug each of them as Ty spoke up, "Ok, you guys let's eat, the bus will be here soon." Lyndy smiled, "Well no worry, if it is Ok, Wyatt is taking all of us to school today. Kind of a first day back treat." They all cheered in happiness but Maddie spoke up, "Just no kissing in front of my school, that would be so embarrassing." Wyatt smiled, "Well I can't promise that you know I am pretty hard to resist." They all laughed as the three girls tackled him with tickles as Lyndy tried to defend him. Amy and Ty watched with JT in her lap. He looked up, "Man you would think they are all five years old, what a bunch of goofs." Amy and Ty smiled holding their hands watching their amazing kids. After making sure they were all secured they stood on the porch watching them leave. The headed back in the house and as soon as they closed the door, Ty went to continue his kiss with his wife. After a few minutes she stepped back breathless, "Ok, that was nice, you seem a little feisty." He laughed, and after kissing her again he whispered, "Well, I have an hour until my first exam and I know you have a little longer so.." She locked the front door and grabbed his hand as they jogged to their room. An hour later they laid next to each other breathless, naked and sweating a little." Amy sighed as she laid on top of him, "Well Dr. Borden, that was fun." He leaned into her and smiled, "Yes it was Mrs. Borden, you are a wildcat." She giggled, "And as you may recall, you are a Darkhorse." They both laughed and kissed again until Ty noticed the time. "Shoot, I have five minutes!" He scurried out of bed, made himself presentable and got dressed with the clothes Amy got for him. He kissed his still naked wife covered only in a sheet one more time struggling to leave. As he left he looked back and saw her go back to bed, snugging up in the comforter a complete vision of beauty. He was definitely in love.
The first day back for the kids was good but Amy and Ty were very busy. It took a bit to get their morning tryst out of their minds but they managed. An occasional glance when they passed, a hug or two and even some quick kisses were keeping them satisfied. They had to go see a client outside of Hudson with Katie, so they decided to grab a quick lunch at Maggie's on the way. The usual crowd was there so they greeted many of the people they knew and laughed when Lou came scurrying over a little frazzled. As she left Katie laughed, "I think that frantic is my mom's middle name, except when she is holding Sienna, then she becomes calm. Was it that way when I was little. I mean you guys were kind of there from the beginning, hey." Amy smiled, "I guess you could say that, from the very beginning. Your mom was so excited about being pregnant and I think she read every book out there. As you know, she can be a bit over the top. But when you were born. Well I never saw so much love in someone's eyes before. Katie, she loved you more than anything." Katie smiled, "Well I know the feeling, Sienna means everything to Clay and I, she is our little girl. You know, I remember when Lyndy was born. The first thing I remember is you holding her sitting in the rocker and you, Ty kneeling next to her with a look I had never seen before. You were completely in love with Amy of course, just as much with the little bundle she was holding. I didn't get it at first but now I realize what that look from both of you meant." She smiled as they got quiet and Amy broke the silence leaning over the table looking directly at her niece, "So, any plans for more kids?" Katie blushed like they had never seen before. Amy gasped, "Oh my god, are you pregnant!" Realizing she may have said it too loud she whispered it again with a little more purpose. Katie smiled, "Well no not yet, but we have been trying for a bit. We want our kids close like you guys." She blushed, "Sienna takes a lot of our alone time away but we have been managing." Amy blushed now poking Ty in the ribs, "Well that is the fun part and you have the four Borden girls to watch her when you need to. They love Sienna and would be happy to watch her for you so you two could go manage." Ty chuckled, "You two are something and I am staying out of this, poor Clay." Amy smacked him, I don't remember you complaining about managing things." Lou came over noticing the happy trio, "Hey guys what's up?" Amy and Ty held their tongues as Katie responded, "I was telling them about some cute things Sienna had done, she is getting so big." Lou smiled, "I see a lot of you in her, she is the cutest for sure. Amy is JT ready for his birthday extravaganza?" Amy laughed, "Well he is and he has made a list and went over it with me this morning, it was so cute." Amy turned a little somber and Ty knew why, pulling her in a bit. "He also said he talked to mom and grandma about his birthday. It also seems some of the kids said he is too young to be in their class and he should be with little kids. He talked to them about that too and Grandma Lyndy told him to bop them in the nose." She laughed, "And mom yelled at her about that. It just surprises me a little every time he talks about them. He acts like it is just a regular conversation and nothing else. I know the team on his case believe that is what he experiences but it stills is pretty amazing. It is such q gift for him." She put her head into Ty's shoulder as Lou whispered, "Sis, it is a gift for all of us." They all laughed as the three of them headed out to see the client just out of town.
Dinner was fun as the kids had all sorts of stories about going back to school. Everyone was laughing and having a great time. Maddie spoke up, "So Lyndy, I hear you are going on a hot date Friday with your honey." Lyndy scoffed, "How did you know that. She laughed, "I have my ways." She lowered her eyebrows trying to figure out how she knew. Ty stepped in, "Madeline, it is none of your business so quit begin so nosey. How is Rickly doing by the way." She gave her dad a stern look as the others laughed and giggled. Amy and Ty loved these interactions as the held hands under the table. After dinner they offered to clean up so the kids could have their study session. They snuck out to see Blaze and Triumph as they had neglected them lately. They walked over in silence when Amy spoke up, "We need to take those guys out for a ride, can you find some time tomorrow?" He smiled back, "Absolutely." They decided to give them a good brush and a nice snack. As always, Ty was amazed at how she bonded with any horse she worked with, especially Blaze. He thought of all the times he watched her with Spartan. Their relationship was one of a kind, as they were always there for each other. She looked over at him and smiled, "What are you thinking about Doc?" He looked at her tentatively, "Don't get upset but I was thinking of you and Spartan. I watched you thousands of times grooming and talking to him. I know I have said this but watching you work with him is what made me fall in love with you. He was a special horse for both of us. All of the memories are so fresh in my mind." He noticed her face getting solemn and went over to her, "Sorry." She leaned up to him and kiss his lips passionately, "It's Ok, Spartan was my first love and I think of him all the time. And he was the reason that we fell in love, so I owe him that too. I'll never forget when we got caught trying to rescue him and we were in the barn. You told me that you would do anything for me and I have to say, you kept your promise." They hurried back into the house seeing that all the kids had already went to their rooms as is was a long day. They made the rounds making sure the birthday boy was good and headed to their room. The fire they lit in the barn was still there as they closed the door and launched into each other's arms. Amy aggressively kissed him and moved down to his neck. Ty moaned and started to unbutton her top gaining access to her bra which along with her shirt were discarded. He leaned down and pulled her nipples into his mouth as Amy leaned her head back and gasped. She frantically pulled his shirt over his head and uncoupled his belt buckled loosening his jeans. He also move his attention to her jeans and within minutes they both they joined their shirts, boxers and panties on the floor. on the floor. Ty glanced at the locked door and picked his giggling wife and headed to their bed. Amy threw the comforter and sheets to the side and pulled him on top of her. He continued to explore her body with his lips and hands bring her to multiple levels of orgasms. She recovered, roughly rolled him over on his back and began her fun, moving smoothly up and down his body, paying special attention to the area that made him moan the loudest. They were complete lovers and were each determined to give each other satisfaction. As she moved up to his lips they kissed and reached a moment in time that was just for them. She raised over him and then lowered herself on his manhood, slowly enveloping it. They moved together again making sure the other was in a complete state of sexual bliss. When they time came they exploded in true lust and sensuality, achieving a mutual climax that tested their ability to keep the moaning at an acceptable level. After a few more minutes, Amy collapsed onto her man, both of them completely satisfied. As they settled, Ty pulled up the covers and fluffy comforter. They cuddled looking at each other as they fell asleep in each other's arms, completely and totally in love.
The rest of the week saw the family was in full birthday party prep mode. It was Friday a so Lyndy and Wyatt were ready for their date, Annie and Addie were going to watch Sienna overnight so Clay and Katie could have a night at the Dude Ranch and Maddie was helping her mom and dad get ready with the birthday kids party at the Kid's Activity Center in town. Food was provided but Amy was making a couple of birthday cakes as Ty and Maddie made gift bags for all of the guest. JT was so excited but went to spend some time at Trent And Shawna's house so they could get ready without interruption. Mallory called after dinner and told them he wanted to stay the night and that she would bring him home early morning. Saturday was his actual birthday so Wyatt and Lyndy offered to make his favorite breakfast for everyone to enjoy. Sunday, the immediate and extended family would celebrate his birthday at the Miricle Ranch. JT asked if some of the team from the hospital could attend to so Amy and Ty invited Dr. Flanders and his favorite Nurse Sally as well. He was excited when they agreed to attend. But the biggest surprise would come late Saturday morning just before they were going to leave for the kid's party. JT was looking outside and saw GG's truck coming down the road. He ran out excited to see him and noticed someone in the truck but it didn't look like Mimi. When they got closer he screamed in delight, "Grandma!" Lilly got out the truck as JT almost barreled her over. "I can't believe you are here for my birthday." Tears were in his eyes along with Lilly and the others The reunion was overwhelming as they saw how happy he was. Lilly laughed, "Did you really think I would miss your 5th birthday. Grandpa sends his congrats and wanted to come but our new great grandson was born so he is helping out getting ready for them to come home from the hospital." He smiled and spoke up, "Are you coming to my kids party, that would be awesome." Amy went to say something and Lilly put her hand on his shoulder, "Well I want to if that is Ok with your mom and dad." Amy smiled, "Of course, heck the other girls are coming too so why not." JT laughed, Lyndy and Wyatt aren't, they went on a hot date last night and are spending the day together, it's kind of gross with all the hugging and kissing." She laughed and commented, "Well is your girlfriend coming?" By this time Maddie, Annie and Addie came out due to the commotion and all laughed, Maddie speaking up, "You bet she is grandma." JT blushed and buried himself in her tight hug again. He looked back and said, "Let's go party." Wyatt took her bags in as the group loaded up to go to the party. As they pulled away Lyndy and Wyatt waved goodbye as she looked at her man with love. "Well it seems we are all alone, maybe we could have a party?" He looked around to make sure the coast was clear and drug her into the house. He hoped that they could continue the romance from last night's date. As they headed upstairs hand in hand he looked at his beautiful girlfriend. Their party was about to begin. The kids party was a big success. Lilly sat with Amy as Ty and the girls played with the kids. Lilly smiled, "It looks like my son and your daughters are having as much fun as the kids." Amy smiled, "Yea they sure are, the girls know that JT has been a little overwhelmed with the study so they are determined that this birthday for him is perfect. He has also had some mean kids razzing him about being so young so Ty and I have made sure he is alright." She smiled, "Well I am sure we will talk about it and if it is Ok, I can help." Amy smiled holding her hand, "So, how are you doing?" Lilly looked down, "I am doing Ok, we had a little setback and I was going to talk to you and Ty about it if we could find a moment. It's nothing to serious and nothing we can't handle and we can talk later. Watching my little man have so much fun is just what I need." Amy just smiled and Ty noticed her forlorn look. Amy glanced at him and smiled and he understood that they would need to catch up later.
The family headed home with a very tired JT in the back seat leaning into his grandma. The decided that when they got back a nap was in order so as they pulled up, Wyatt and Lyndy met them and he picked up a tired little boy and took him to his room, Lilly right behind them. Lyndy asked how the party was and Amy spoke up, "It was a lot of fun but I think your dad and these three had more fun than the kids. What did you guys do?" Lyndy turned a little pink, "Oh nothing, we just hung out with the horses and went down to the rehoming center for a bit." Ellory was heading over to talk to Amy, "How was the party." Amy filled her in and then she looked at Lyndy, "Hey I haven't seen you around lately, hanging out with that boyfriend of yours a lot?" The three girls giggled and Amy looked at her daughter. "I thought you said you guys hung out at the rehoming center today?" Ellory ran off knowing she may have spoken up to much as Maddie blurted, "Lyndy is busted, were you guys making out all afternoon?" Addie and Annie laughed as well as Addie added to the fire, "Well, well, well several hours alone with your boyfriend and no one seemed to see you, interesting." Ty and Wyatt walked up on the uncomfortable interaction as he spoke up, "You three unload the stuff from the car and leave your sister alone." Wyatt went to Lyndy blushing along with her. Lyndy went to speak and her dad interrupted, "We know having time alone is tough with this group so we are glad you could." Let's go inside and warm up and start thinking about dinner." After their nap, the sleepy couple joined the family for dinner. The party goers weren't that hungry so they ate light and just sat around as a family. Lilly smiled as JT sat in her lap. She was deciding when to share her news. Ty could tell she wanted to speak so he asked, "So mom how are you and Max doing and how about the new baby." She smiled, "We are really good and that baby is the cutest, you should see Max, he is on top of the world with his first great grandson. He is a bit of a baby hog." JT laughed, "Does he change diapers too, that is gross." She laughed, "You bet he does, he is all in." She hesitated and continued as the family put their entire attention to her, "Well there is some news about my health. I have already talked to my little buddy and your mom already but at my last checkup we found that some of the cancer had resurfaced. Now before you panic, it is in an area that we are not too worried about, but the doctors have recommended we go after it aggressively. So, after I get back we are going to go at it, so I may be a little out of pocket for a while." The family sat quietly when Amy finally spoke up, "Lilly we are here for you, whatever you guys need. Maybe you should have stayed home, I am sure JT would have been Ok with that." JT chuckled, "Mom, I told her that and she told me she couldn't miss it. Grandma, I am so happy you are here and I know you will be Ok." He hugged her tightly as the others took turns as well. Ty held on a little longer as his eyes misted a bit. Lilly scoffed, "Now you guys stop, everything will be Ok. I have too much in my life to live for and I am not going to miss it. I mean we have graduations, birthday parties and maybe a wedding down the road." Lyndy and Wyatt blushed at her comment and Maddie blurted out. "You right about that grandma, these two seemed to disappear today while we were at the party. No one knew where they were. Kind of fishy I think." After some laughter, a stern look from Amy and an apology from Maddie the family went off to get ready for bed. Amy and Ty had made their rounds as Wyatt and Lyndy spent a little more time talking. He pulled her in for a hug as she whispered, "I can't believe my family, it was so embarrassing. But I don't care, this afternoon was amazing. I still feel all warm inside about it." She looked down and blushed, "Wyatt, I love you and I love how gentle and caring you are when we are together making.." She hesitated and he smiled, "I know what you mean Lynny. I never believed I could have someone so amazing in my life. You are my heart and soul. Are you Ok, I mean I know we take all the precautions and stuff." She smiled, "Yes, I never miss my pill and you use protection. I mean we need to be since Grandma says we will be married soon. Wyatt, being with you is perfect." He gave her a deep kiss and figured he better get back to his room and not press their luck. She smiled warmly, "I love you Wyatt Miller."
It was the day of JT's family birthday. His kids party was a huge success and made even better since Grandma Lilly showed up unexpectedly. The Miracle Ranch was abuzz with activity. Even though limited to family and close famliy friends the group was still rather large. Ty, Caleb, Rusty and Wyatt decided to set up the smaller tent that attached to the enclosed porch to use for food and some tables for seating. The food was coming from Maggie's and the drinks were all cooled and ready. A birthday chair had been set up next to the present table. As usual Maddie would be noting all the gifts and who they were from. The girls and Wyatt were completely focused on making sure everything was perfect for their little brother. JT was with Lilly and Amy as they video called Max so he could wish him happy birthday. When the screen came up they were happy to see him holding his new great grandchild, with a big smiled on his face. Amy smiled warmly, "What a cute baby and JT, look at the proud GG." He laughed, "Yes I am over the moon but more importantly, JT Happy Birthday. I am so excited for you. Is Grandma behaving?" JT laughed, "She has been a good girl. Thanks grandpa." They said their goodbyes and JT went back to the party prep. Amy helped Lilly up and walked with her, "So, how are you feeling today?" Lilly smiled understanding her concern, "Amy I am tired but good. I'll be honest, we were a little scared when we got the diagnosis but with the plan we should be Ok." Amy smiled as she continued, "And I know I have to talk to Ty and I promise I will. As prep continued, a few noticed two black SUVs coming down the drive. Amy and Ty knew the reason as several men in dark suits stepped out of the first vehicle and went to open the back door of the second. Haley bounced out followed my Maryanne and Justin Trudeau, Amy screamed and ran toward her friend joining in a big hug. Everyone saw the commotion and headed toward the two vehicles. Haley went to hug her man and the Trudeaus were happily greeted by the rest of the family. Ty spoke first, "What are you guys doing here?' Justin laughed, "Fine greeting Dr. Borden. If you must know we were visiting our daughter for the weekend and we heard there was a party, so we had to come. We here it is someone's birthday." JT jumped into his arms and laughed, "It's mine silly." Maryanne laughed and others joined, "Well my husband has been called a lot of things but I think that is the first time silly was used." Everyone laughed as Justin went to help Ty and Maryanne went with Amy. Both of them made a special trip to great Lilly and hug her. Lilly was overwhelmed that they were so thoughtful smiling the whole time. Maddie stepped over, "Don't worry grandma they are pretty normal for royalty." Everyone laughed as they had everything ready to go as several trucks showed up with the Heartland group. As they unloaded, with help from some of the family Maryanne rushed over, "Ok, let me see these babies." Katie walked over with a tentative Sienna but she soon was in her arms laughing and giggling. Steven brought over Matthew and Maryanne gushed, "Amy and Ty these are the cutest kids ever, I may steal them and take them home with me." Georgie laughed, "well you still will have to breastfeed this one." Everyone laughed again as they all got settled.
All the partygoers had arrived and JT was being a great host greeting and talking with everyone. He always had Trent and Shawna by his side as he walked through the crowd. The Heartland elder group and Lilly watched him as he greeted and spoke to everyone there. They were really impressed when he brought Dr. Flanders and Nurse Sally with their spouses to meet them. He took his time to introduce them to all of them, explaining who they were and what they did. Amy watched and leaned into her husband's warm chest, "Look at him, he is so amazing and strong. He is so much like you." Ty whispered, "He is like us and the kids, he is definitely a Borden." The party easy going well. The Borden kids decided to not invite any of their friends so the focus could be on JT. Maddie, Annie and Addie along with the Walsh girls offered to take care of all of the little kids so the parents could enjoy their time, which the parents really appreciated, except for Sienna and Matthew who were being held by all of the other mothers. They had the porch and tents set up for the kids with games and a place to draw. They also had easy access to the snow outside and the barn. They took them out there and then had them clean off on the porch before they came in the house. Some of the adults checked in periodically and saw the five teens had everything in check. Food was laid out around 1pm and everyone ate at their leisure. Maddie made sure everyone knew that cake and ice cream would be served around 3 or so and then presents after that. Lyndy and Wyatt were hanging with Haley, Katie, Clay and Rusty. Georgie, Steven had graduated to the parents section with Amy, Ty and the rest of them. The main talk was Mallory's pregnancy and how she was doing. And of course the elder group added Lilly, Dr. Flanders and Nurse Sally. The Trudeaus went back and forth with Maryanne generally going where baby Matthew was. Tim joked with Justin, "Your wife sure likes that baby, I bet Haley will have one for her soon, Her and Rusty seem to be pretty close." Justin laughed, "Well he is a fantastic young man, but let's hope they wait to get married and stuff." Lilly laughed, "Well this is not the best place for that, it is full of babies and a pregnant lady. She needs to stay clear." They all laughed as they looked over the festivities. Amy and Ty spent most of their time with their group of parents but did find the time to interact with the elder group as well as the teens, who were handing the little ones. The party was in full swing and everyone was enjoying the food and chance to meet up with family. Ty spent a little time with Jack having a beer and he spoke up, "Jack, I have to say JT is really having a lot of fun and is just a great son. Amy and I appreciate your influence as he has always looked up to you and you have always been there for him." Ty got a little quiet, "You did the same for me when I came here and I will always remember that. You were the father I never had." Jack put his hand on his shoulder as Amy watched them from her seat. "Ty, you are and will always be my son and make sure you are always there for JT. He is our legacy and will carry on our values and traditions, passing them on to his children. You and Amy have done an amazing job with my great grandchildren and I couldn't be more proud. And by the way, I am really glad I didn't sever a limb or two on you." He smiled and hugged his adopted son tightly. Amy teared up watching the two most important men in her life sharing a moment, she loved them both so much.
JT sat proudly in his seat as Annie and Addie brought his gifts to him and Maddie sat next to him taking dubious notes. He received a lot of games and toys. GG and Max gave him his own set of waders, a little big but that could last him for a few years. Lilly and Lisa got him a framed picture of the three of them that was taken at Christmas, that he loved. Lilly joked, "You need more walls for all the pictures you have." The Webers and Millers gave him a new set of tack for Blue Boy and Tim, Casey, Lou and Scott got him a jumping saddle as he hoped to begin to learn in the spring. Shawna's gift was special. It was a picture of the two of them on the porch sitting next to each other. She giggled and shyly whispered to him, "I like your goofy smile. I have one in my room too." Mallory and Amy were sitting next to each other and smiled holding each other's hands. Mallory looked over at Doug, who was a bit teary eyed and whispered to Amy, "He is such a marshmallow." His sisters and Wyatt gave him personal gifts that were special between them only. He smiled and went to give each of them a kiss on the cheek, even Wyatt. Amy and Ty had to take everyone outside to show him the gift they got him. He loved riding on the ATV's and Gators they had on the farm but only as a rider. Wyatt and Lyndy rolled out a mini ATV that had a license plate that read Jackson Tyler Borden. JT's mouth flew open and he screamed with joy. Before running to his new ATV, he ran to his parents for the biggest hug ever. Everyone laughed and applauded, wiping a few tears as well. They knew he was having a tough go and this present meant a lot to him. As he jumped on it Amy spoke up, "Now little man, no driving until Wyatt or your dad give you some lessons and also you are limited to the property and maybe Heartland. No driving to Hudson or Calgary." He looked over to Shawna as she continued, "And no back seat riders until we see you are safe and understand the rules of the road." He smiled understanding, "But mom, you always have said you love being the girl on the back of the bike." Amy blushed as Ty stepped in, "In time son, you have to be patient. It took a while for mom to join me." Everyone laughed as they let him start it and take a short trip around the yard with Wyatt's help. He was the happiest boy in the world. After cake and ice cream the crowd began to dissipate as the next day was school and work for everyone. JT spent a little extra time with Lilly as she was flying back to Colorado in the morning and was staying at Heartland for the night. The kids settled in for bed and Amy and Ty spent a little more time with each of them. They thanked the girls and Wyatt for all of their help and then stayed with JT for a bit to talk about his weekend. After a kiss goodnight they headed off to bed. They laid next to each other quietly, both with memories of a great day with their kids and family. Amy held him closely and whispered, "Good day for sure." He smiled and whispered, "Yes it was, the kids are awesome and I think JT liked his ATV." They laid a while longer quietly enjoying the closeness. After I love yous they fell asleep in each other's arms as content and happy as they had ever been.
