Chapter 18: Plucking a Chicken

The day of the rating game arrived, and I'm feeling pretty whelmed. I've got three solid plans that don't really require much teamwork as I'm handed one of the communications devices, I look around at Rias' peerage. I could've probably pushed Kiba further. I've managed even less with Akeno. I never felt that we were close enough for me to push for her to accept her lightning. I just know that I would get too angry at her stubbornness and probably irreparably damage our relationship. It just infuriates me that she is single-handedly capable of saving Rias with her holy lightning but just refuses to. Koneko… she's honestly someone who would require a decent amount of time and my undisturbed attention to help. A lot of her problems are built off of assumptions, misinterpretations, and outright lies. Yet probably the easiest to deal with overall.

"I'm… to be honest, Rias…" I look her in the eye. "It'll probably be best just to let me handle this." I shrug. This earned me a raised brow from her.

"Really? You intend to wipe out an entire peerage by yourself?" She raises an incredulous brow.

"If I am honest… yes." I laugh. "Don't get me wrong, they're tough… but compared to me, they're mortals comparing themselves to a god." I released my full aura as the room's shadows grew, and the temperature dropped massively. "If it were just me… I might be in trouble." I say, walking towards the entrance to leave the copy of the occult research club. "But I'm never alone." As I set foot outside, the spectral fire spread from my footsteps as my little damned army slowly came into existence, seeming to fade into existence, stepping out of the fire. "Serve youR MASTER! KILL THEM ALL!" Echoed my order with a good ol' Talion stile wraith-enhanced call to action and everything.

A wordless roar came from my forces as the charge began. My giants rendered the nearby buildings to rubble and began hurling large chunks of masonry to break Raiser's peerage into smaller groups to be swarmed. My liches, summoning their forces, began directing them broken up into groups spread between knights and skeletons. My knights formed an arrowhead, leading the horde toward the flaming chicken.

"Hundreds of soldiers that don't feel pain no matter how weak… against sixteen. It takes nothing for me to raise the fallen again." I let out a shallow laugh. "That's two." I said. As the announcement was released, two of Riser's pawns had retired. "Hmmm, let the knights through to me if they push it." I shrug as I draw my sword and dagger. A few minutes later, with two more pawns and a bishop retiring later, Siris breaks into the clearing. She's obviously tired and worse for wear.

"Four of Raiser's pawns and one of his bishops have retired."

"Hah… Heh… Finally… If I can stop you, these monsters will all disappear, right?" She pants out, readying her zweihander. 'Well… she's a little confused, but her heart's in the right place.' I can only think with a bit of a tilt of my head.

"Well, you're not wrong. But that implies you're strong enough to kill me." I say, taking my stance. My attempts at banter were met with hostility, however. She lunges at knight speeds, dropping a dex booster. I meet her head-on, clashing without her being able to land a hit. Locking her sword with my own, my dagger hand flashes forward under her left arm, only for it to fall limp at her side. She tried to keep fighting, but soon after her arm was immobilized, she was removed from the game in light particles. Stretching a bit, I sigh. 'Fighting's actually getting pretty fun.' I chuckle.

"Hmm, I can't help but feel something was left out in our contract." Came Rias' voice, more curious than accusatory. As if to prove her point.

"Raiser's Queens has been retired." Was announced.

"Alright… I'll admit… I might have sold myself… a little short." I sigh, looking back to the redhead. "But to be fair… you want me in your peerage even more now, don't you?" I say with a raised brow.

"I… well… yes." She sighs that last bit out. "Still, I'm not sure how to feel about this revelation. You've always been able to do this. When you showed us those two before, I thought that was it… maybe a few more. But I never expected anything like this. Now I'm not even sure if I'm strong enough to add you to my peerage with all of my remaining peaces" She says, gesturing to the giants playing keep-up with one of Riser's Rooks.

"Alright, to be fair, I did not tell them to do that." I say, facepalming at the unusual and honestly quite rude behavior.

"Riser's Rook and two pawns have retired." There came yet another announcement from Grafia.

"Well… just you know what." I wave over one of my liches. "You're one of the Death Knight commanders pull back your forces to protect Rias." As soon as the order was given, twenty knights were dispelled from the front and resummoned here. "Protect her with your un-lives." I order, moving towards the fighting. "Hmm, that's half of his peerage down; the rest engaged and… no, he's still standing on that rooftop, huh." Was my very eloquent response to seeing him standing on top of the same roof he did in the anime. "That's an impressive amount of foolhardiness. He doesn't even look startled by the massive army of corpses ripping apart his peerage." Shrugging I shoot into the melee to see if I can't grind out a little more experience before taking down the king.

Things were winding down now, it's basically just him and his sister. My troops managed to stomp the peerage members even with their allotted phoenix tears in one case literally via bone giant. Don't get me wrong, it's not been easy, but I never allowed it to be anything other than a battle of attrition. Once, there was an attempt to break through the line to strike at me while I was resting and the other liches. But that soon taught them the results of being hit with necromantic magic. This is what led to the enemy numbers dropping to two as the charge was blunted by enfeeblement and many other lovely curses. Looking over the carnage I watch as Riser's sister… whoms name escapes me get surrounded by my skeletons and receive the Anck-Su-Namun treatment. "Heh, ironic considering my home world's egyptian theme." Making my way towards Raiser he meets me with an uninterested half-glare. Sending a mental command to my liches to surround him.

"So you've finally decided to approach Raiser?" He flashes a wide grin before gathering flames around himself. "You'll come to regret interfering with Raiser's plans." He says reeling back to throw what would no doubt be a wall of fire at me. Rolling my eyes I flex my magic suddenly standing in front of me are my deathknight inner circle. The stronger more upgraded ones I control personally each one armed with a towershield brings forewards every ounce of their chilling presence into blocking the flames. The sound of highpressure steam followed as vision was obstructed.

"Raiser's Bishop has been retired."

"Looks like his sister couldn't take it anymore." I mumble to myself. Taking in a deep breath, I look around the school's been pulled apart. "Honestly, Raiser, I should be thanking you."

"Really?" Came his return. "Then Raiser thinks you should come out from behind you monsters human." The hate in his voice dropping the word human like a slur.

"Oh, not for a good fight or anything like that," I chuckle at his challenge. "Just how often does a guy get to rend their school down to the bedrock." I keep up the laughing as I wait for my liches to get into position. "As for stepping right into your attack… how about this… let's see how the Phenix clan's regeneration stacks up to my magic? Sound interesting, you let me hit you once I let you hit me?" I say grinning. 'There's no way he would be that stupid right?' I think to my self. 'Right?"

"Ha, very well, let's see how powerful you magic is human it must be something." Raiser was so tickled by the idea he didn't even say his own name. 'The smug dick… far be it from me to underestimate him.' I think to myself giving one of my knights to order to jump in front of it if he attacks me. Stepping out I find myself noticeably not broiled. I look across to my opponent, say what you will, he's kept his cool.

"I'll give you this Phenix… you've got nerves of steel, unfounded or no." I chuckle meeting his cocky grin with one of my own.

"Raiser will allow this praise, you've done well… for a human." He can't seem to help but diminish my achievement.

"Well then, I'll use the spell I feel most appropriate." I say gathering the max of my remaining mana.

"Raiser bids you do your worst." Raiser sneers.

"[Sever Soul]" A pale white light shoots from my hand striking Raiser in the chest. Palming the soul flask from my inventory when the spell lands, two things happen, one Raiser's body drops like like a puppet with it's strings cut, and two a shadowy glowing white outline of him stands there. Holding out the jar I remove the cork pushing the last dregs of my mana into activating the bottle drawing in Raiser's soul.

"Raiser is… no longer able to fight, Rias wins." Came the somewhat confused announcement of Grayfia.

"And there was much rejoice." I chuckle to myself looking at the drooling mess on the ground. I dismissed my army, I'm surrounded with the light of teleportation magic as they dissipate into green fire.

((Authors note: When I checked my word count I found that before this message I was at 1666 words, a perfect close to the world of boobie devils.))

When I regained awareness of the world around me I was in a simple stone room.

"Of course Aris." I nod. "Send it."

Once again things go dark, when I come to, I'm impressed, a densely packed city surrounds me. It's a combination of sandstone and durasteel. Skyscrapers and a starport in the distance. All those little bits of infrastructure I wanted in place. The city grew the way I had planned it.

({[Aaaand we are back in the Star Wars. It's been a long update coming, but I got it out. I'll try not to world hop for a while, but sometimes shit happens all depends on how the story flows man. Anyway thanks for the read, Live long and prosper.]})
