"S-Sonya?" asked Johnny. Sonya looked more angry.

"That's General Blade to you."

"Heh...Sorry, General."

"May I come in? We need to have a chat."

"Okay..."

Johnny let her in. They sat down in the living room.

"So what's with the sudden visit? You could have at least called." said Johnny.

"I wasn't planning on stopping by, but a new development has come up which is very concerning to me and the Special Forces."

"And what would that be?"

"It has come to my attention that you may have put our daughter in grave danger."

"Oh yeah? How so?"

"We obtained security footage from your little encounter in the bar."

"What?"

"That gang that her friend fought. You lead them right to her."

"Whoa whoa whoa, hold on a second. First of all, her friend Frost wanted to celebrate with some drinks due to their achievement, and I was happy to take them, as I thought they deserved it. And second, it's a nice place and I thought those were just some rude punks."

"They wore the symbols of the criminal gang, The Black Dragon. Ever hear of them?"

"No."

"They're dangerous criminals, Johnathan. They're arms dealers, murderers, and a whole lot of other things. We haven't identified those individuals in the footage yet, so nothing's confirmed. Even so, it still bugs me. I'll have to find out more information before we do anything rash."

"Shit..."

"No kidding."

"Look, I'm really sorry about this. I had no idea any of this would happen." explained Johnny.

"Who's this?"

Mileena entered the room, wearing casual clothes. Sonya was shocked by her mouth.

"Wha..."

"Uh...this is Mileena. My girlfriend."

"Oh uh...hello there. You are?" asked Mileena.

"General Sonya Blade."

"Oh...yes, Johnny mentioned you." said Mileena

"She came to warn us that...we may have had a run in with a dangerous gang." explained Johnny.

"What?"

"Yes...Mileena. There's no need to panic just yet. We're still investigating." said Sonya.

"Is...there anything we can do?" asked Mileena.

"Just...be on the lookout and stay out of trouble."

"We'll be fine, right Mileena?" asked Johnny. Mileena nodded in agreement.

"That's right. We can hold our own very well." said Mileena.

Sonya stood up.

"Something just bothers me about all of this."

"It'll be okay, General. You have my word." reassured Johnny.

"Forgive me, Johnathan. Your word hasn't been the most trustworthy."

Johnny sighed.

"I know...but together, I know we can take these punks. I am Johnny Cage, afterall."

Sonya couldn't help but snicker.

"Your boyfriend is one stupid son of a bitch." said Sonya to Mileena, who smiled.

"At times."

"Hey..." said Johnny.

"I swear, if anything happens to Cassie, I'll kill you." said Sonya. Johnny sighed.

"Yeah...I know."

"What's with the attitude?"

"Well, no offense but you haven't exactly been there for Cassie you know. It's a bit jarring when all of a sudden you show up saying you'll kick my ass if something happens."

"I care about our daughter, Johnathan, make no mistake about it. But I also care about humanity."

"I know..."

"Where is Cassie right now?" asked Sonya.

"She's...out with a friend." answered Johnny.

"God damn it, Johnathan!" said Sonya standing up.

"She'll be fine, Sonya. She and her friend can definitely take care of themselves. They're just going to hang out at the ice rink."

Sonya sighed.

"Perhaps you're right...she is very skilled, isn't she?"

"They both are. They'll be fine." said Johnny.

"I'm going to keep an eye on her anyway." said Sonya looking at the door. Johnny lightly sighed. He knew this was the first time Cassie had gone to hang out with a friend in a very long time and wanted it to go right, but he also knew Sonya was just looking out for her.

"Alright. Call us if anything happens." said Johnny.

Sonya stepped over to the front door.

"You may be right that these punks aren't the baddest of the bad..." said Sonya. "But I just don't like it."

Johnny saluted Sonya. She nodded and left. Johnny closed the door.

"Are you sure they'll be okay? She sounded pretty worried." said Mileena.

"This actually...isn't the first time Cassie's been in trouble. She's been in fights before, gets the attention of some big crime group, they all come after us, and Sonya comes back to warn us. Every single time, they've been nothing we couldn't easily handle." explained Johnny.

"Still...we should be ready for anything."

"You're right...I'll check in with them every so often. I know she'll be fine, but better safe than sorry."

Mileena smiled. They then headed toward the front door.

Later that evening.

Cassie and Frost arrived at an ice-skating club called "Iceberg Center". It was like a family fun center that offered many different amusements, but was known for its ice skating rink. They walked up to the artic themed playland.

"Holy crap..." said Cassie, impressed. Frost smiled.

"Just wait until you see the inside."

The two stepped inside the main rink building, a glowing blue dome. Inside was a huge rink where dozens of people were skating. They stepped up to the skate rental desk.

"It's on me." said Frost. She rented the skates and they put them on. They then stepped over the ice, and Frost stepped on first. Cassie then stepped on, and began to slip.

"Whoa!"

Frost grabbed her hand, causing Cassie to regain her balance.

"Phew. Guess it's been a while."

Frost continued to hold Cassie's hand, and noticed this. She blushed bashfully. Cassie noticed and smiled.

"Come on. Let's have some fun."

"Right."

The two held hands and skated across the rink several times.

Meanwhile...

Near the bathroom, a young man stood by, smoking a cigarette. He wore the insignias of the Black Dragon Gang. Behind him, unknown to him was Sonya Blade, wearing a hoodie and jeans with the hood up. The man continued to stare at Cassie and Frost. Sonya then approached, grabbed him and slammed him into the wall.

"What the hell!? Get off of me!"

Sonya pulled her hood down. The man was terrified.

"Oh shit!"

"Indeed." Sonya said with a smirk. "Cassandra Cage and her friend are off limits, understand?"

"It's too late! The Black Dragon already put a hit on her. They're both worth a lot of money, even more alive!"

"Shit..."

Sonya looked back at Cassie and Frost on the ice. She then looked at the man.

"Too bad for you, bet ya didn't know this was a hangout spot for us. You three ain't comin' out of here alive!"

The man laughed. Sonya punched him, knocking him out. She noticed many other gangsters nearing toward the rink, all holding blunt objects to use as weapons.

"Cassie! Watch out!" she yelled as loud as she could. Cassie and Frost turned to her.

"Mom!?" Cassie asked, shocked. Dozens of gangsters hopped into the rink, and began to run towards them. Sonya took out a pistol and unloaded, shooting several of them down. Several men surrounded her and pushed her up to the wall.

Cassie watched in horror as the mob ran towards her. She was terrified and paralyzed with fear.

FLASHBACK

A crowd of armored monsters run towards Cassie.

END FLASHBACK

"No!"

At the rink, as if instinct Cassie took out two small concealed pistols and fired, shooting down several men. Once she ran out of bullets, she used her guns to pistol whip several of the men, knocking them down.

Frost helped fight back, using the ice on the rink to form spikes that impaled several of the men. She looked over at Cassie who was struggling. Frost then lifted up her arms, causing a massive wave of ice to form, preventing anyone else from easily approaching the rink. Now trapped, Cassie and Frost worked together to fight the group. One by one, they killed each gangster that rushed at them.

Cassie took out her baton and brutally struck down each gangster that approached her, taking their flesh with it.

Frost waved her arm, causing a large piece of ice form into a wave and crush several of the gangsters. She used all the ice to her advantage, turning dozens of pieces into icicles and stabbing many of them to death.

Cassie threw a small metal box onto the ice which transformed itself into a small drone with a gun attached to its head, which shot down several more gangsters. Cassie then clenched her fist until it glowed green. Once the next gangster stepped up to her, Cassie dropped to the ice and punched him in the groin so hard that his head popped off his body with his spinal cord still attached, spilling blood and organs all over the ice.

This action scared the other gangsters, and they began to retreat. Frost made the ice wall crumble to free them. Cassie continue to stand there, breathing heavily as blood dripped down her face as she trembled. Concerned, Frost approached her.

"Hey...Cassie are you hurt?"

Frost put her hand on Cassie's shoulder. Cassie jumped back and looked at her.

"Cassie...it's okay. They're gone."

Cassie caught her breath.

"Sorry...yeah I'm okay. I think."

At this time, Sonya made her way into the rink.

"Mom?" asked Cassie. Sonya stepped up to her.

"Cassie! Are you okay?" asked Sonya.

"I'm fine."

Sonya noticed Frost.

"You! This is your fault!" said Sonya.

"What?" asked Frost, confused.

"Mom, what the hell are you talking about?" asked Cassie.

"That woman pissed off the Black Dragon Gang by castrating one of its members, and freezing the hand off of another."

"What? She was just defending us! And how the fuck would you know about that?"

"We obtained surveillance of that fight."

"Of course you did." said Cassie.

"Your friend's a wild card. You should stay away from her before she causes any more trouble with them."

"Shut up! Why the hell would you care anyway?" asked Cassie.

"Of course I care. You're my daughter."

"Oh yeah? Then why are you never around? Why? Because I left the Special Forces?" asked Cassie. Sonya frowned.

"It's...complicated. You know that."

"Whatever. I don't need your help."

"These are dangerous people, Cassie. They won't stop until they kill you." Explained Sonya.

"I think you can see we're doing just fine. We don't need your help."

Sonya sighed.

"You do. You just don't know it yet. Fine, but I'm still going to monitor things." Sonya said turning away. "And Frost...I suggest you keep your distance."

Sonya walked away. Cassie sighed as Frost frowned.

"Don't...listen to her." said Cassie.

"Maybe she's right..." said Frost. "It is all my fault, isn't it?"

"Of course not." said Cassie stepping up to her. "It's these asshole's fault for harassing us."

"Whatever...I think I want to go home." said Frost, upset.

"Yeah...everything's kind of ruined, isn't it? Let's get out of here before any more show up."

"Right."

Cassie took out a remote and pressed a button, causing her drone to turn back into a box, which she picked up and put in her pocket. They stepped off the ice and took their skates off.

"I'm surprised you fought so well in skates." said Frost.

"Yeah...guess I could've used them as a weapon."

As they stepped out, they saw the dozens of bodies of the gangsters that Sonya killed.

"Damn...she really knew what she was doing." said Frost.

"Yeah..." said Cassie.

"Sorry about all this." said Frost.

"No need. It wasn't your fault."

They put their shoes back on. As they continued to walk, they stepped past the manager's office. When they walked past, Cassie noticed the door open. She stopped thinking it was another gangster and they began to walk faster. Cassie caught a glimpse of the man. He certainly wasn't dressed like one of the gangsters but more...elegantly, and wore a top hat. Just as they left Cassie could hear them man yell angrily at the carnage.

They quickly stepped outside.

"I think I want to go home." said Frost.

"Agreed. Let's drop you off."

Just as Cassie took out her phone she received a call from Johnny. She answered.

"Hello?"

"Cassie! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, dad. Just a little encounter with more of those gangsters from the bar. Frost was with me and...mom was there to help I guess. Yeah, I'm coming home right away."

In mere minutes an armored limo drove up and picked the two up. As they were driving, Cassie noticed Frost falling asleep.

"Hey Frost? You want to crash at my place for the night? It's probably safer."

"Sure..."

They all headed back to the mansion. As soon as they reached the entrance, Johnny and Mileena came running out. Cassie and Frost exited the car to greet them.

"There you are! Are you two okay!?" asked Johnny.

"We're fine, dad. We handled them."

"Are you sure?" asked Mileena, concerned.

"Well...maybe a little roughed up." said Cassie. The two did have a couple of scrapes and bruises.

"Why don't we patch you two up inside?" asked Johnny. Cassie and Frost agreed and headed inside.

Later that evening...

Johnny and Mileena were having a discussion in the kitchen while Frost was fast asleep on the couch. The mansion doctors had tended to her wounds.

"Damn...this is bad. I didn't think they were any more than ordinary punks." said Johnny.

"They're serious. We need to be on our guard." said Mileena.

"They'd be idiots to attack the mansion. It's not like we're sitting ducks or anything. I do have a team of security I trained myself."

"Then we'll be fine as long as we're all here. In the meantime, I can give a call to father and he can look into the situation. For now, we should remain here." suggested Mileena.

"Sounds good."

Mileena headed upstairs into Johnny's office. She took out her cellphone and called her father. After a few rings, he answered.

"Hello? Father, it's me." said Mileena.

"Mileena? What is the meaning of calling at such an hour? Is everything alright?"

"No, actually. Cassandra Cage and Ms. Frost were enjoying a night out, but were attacked by a small army of gangsters from the Black Dragon."

"What!?" Shao Kahn roared. "Are they okay!?"

"They are. They handled them. But right now we are taking shelter at Johnathan's house."

"I will not have them harm my daughter or anyone in my empire! You know what must be done."

"I do, father."

"Very well. Stay safe."

They hung up. Mileena then dialed another number. Kuai Lang picked up.

"Hello, it is I."

"Ms. Kahn."

"I need you tonight. It's for another mission."

"Very well. Who threatens us this time?" asked Kuai Lang.

"We are to go after the Black Dragon gang. Whatever branch they have here, we must wipe it out."

"That will be quite the challenge."

"Together we'll prevail." assured Mileena.

"Very likely. Alright, I will suit up."

They hung up and Mileena left the office. She then went downstairs to meet with Johnny.

"Johnathan. I must go out to take care of this unfinished business."

"I can go with you." said Johnny, concerned. Mileena lightly smiled.

"I'll be fine. Kuai Lang and I will deal with this. You stay here and protect Cassie and Ms. Frost in case anything happens."

"Alright...please be safe."

They hugged, and Mileena left through the front door.

Mileena had the driver drive her to her apartment. When she went inside, Mileena quickly put on her kombat gear, consisting of a one-piece light purple suit, gloves, and boots. She tied her hair up into a bun.

Later that night...

Mileena met Kuai Lang at the Black Dragon hideout.

"Are you ready, Ms Kahn?" asked Kuai Lang.

"For our family." declared Mileena. They stepped up to the warehouse doors. Kuai Lang froze the door completely before shattering it. The two stepped inside.

The gangsters weren't anticipating such a sudden ambush and were startled. Kuai Lang rode in on a wave of ice and began slaughtering gangsters left and right. Mileena began throwing her knives and killing off dozens of gangsters herself. Kuai Lang summoned two ice-axes and slashed down gangster after gangster. Some of them tried shooting at them. Kuai Lang created a wall of ice to protect Mileena.

"Ms Kahn."

"Yes..."

Mileena rolled into a ball holding her knives, and launched herself out of the ice, barrelling through their numbers and slicing them up. Blood and organs flew into the air and landed on the floor in a gory mess. Suddenly, Mileena was knocked down by an extremely fast, unseen force.

"Ms Kahn!" said Kuai Lang in shock. Mileena got up but was hit again several times and knocked hard into the floor. Before she could be hit again, Mileena teleported away.

"Not so fast." said the attacker.

Kuai Lang looked around for a moment and created an ice clone. The attacker ran right into it and froze.

"Kabal." Kuai Lang said as he looked at Kabal's frozen body. Summoning a hammer, he smashed Kabal in the face with it, shattering the ice and sending him across the room. He landed hard on the floor.

"Goddam it..." Kabal said as he stood himself up.

Kabal got into a stance with his hook swords. Mileena took out a pair of sai and got into her stance as Kuai Lang got into his with a pair of ice swords. He then dashed at the pair, engaging in a battle. The two swiftly deflected each strike, with Kuai Lang countering with ice blasts. Mileena managed a slash on Kabal's arm, catching him off guard and allowing Kuai Lang to land a strike with his sword. As Kabal stumbled back, he released a blast of toxic gas from his facemask.

Kuai Lang shielded Mileena from the gas with a wall of ice. He then noticed Kabal dashing all over the room to confuse them. Kuai Lang then sprayed some ice onto the floor. Sure enough, Kabal blundered in. His feet were instantly frozen in place, and the momentum swung his body so hard forward that it broke his legs and slammed his head into the hard floor. As Kabal yelled in pain, Mileena teleported several times, stomping on Kabal's back with each one. She finished her combo with a stab to Kabal's back.

"Ms. Kahn. I believe that's the last of them." said Kuai Lang. Mileena nodded in agreement.

"Appears so." she said as she stepped up to Kabal. "We'll let you be our message. Leave my family alone, got it?"

"Ugh...what the hell are you talking about?"

Mileena pointed her sai at him.

"Cassandra Cage and Frost! They are my friends, and work for my father! You attack them, you attack our empire!"

"Shit..." said Kabal. "Kano's going to be pissed."

"Kano. So he was behind this?" asked Kuai Lang.

"He told me to take care of it after our boys wanted retaliation. I thought that blue haired woman was fired."

"No, a temporary demotion, one I regret." Explained Kuai Lang. "All she needed was a little guidance. Now she's where she belongs." said Kuai Lang.

"Crap. And the yellow haired one?"

"She works for us too. You better stay away! Tell your boss!" said Mileena.

"You're too late. Kano's tracking down the yellow haired woman right now. We know where she lives. Won't be long now. Heh heh..."

Mileena and Kuai Lang gasped.

"Shit!" shouted Mileena.

"Heh heh...Kano's going to cut her up real good..."

Kuai Lang shot a small piece of ice at Kabal's mouth, sealing it shut.

"Kuai Lang, we must return to Johnathan's house." said Mileena.

"Right." said Kuai Lang. They quickly left.

Outside, they continued to run to their car only to find it in flames, and surrounded by a large army of gangsters.

"Curses!" yelled Mileena. The odds seemed against them.

"Get away from my daughter!"

Shao Kahn dropped from the sky and onto the ground, startling all the gangsters.

"Father!"

"Mr Kahn!"

Shao Kahn turned to them.

"I'll handle these worms. You check on Mr Cage."

"Yes, father." said Mileena. "Thank you."

"Anytime, sweetie."

Mileena and Kuai Lang ran off. Before the gangsters could go after them, Shao Kahn swiftly rammed himself into the crowd at supernatural speed, killing several and knocking everyone down.

"Who's next?" Shao Kahn asked confidently as he summoned his giant hammer, which appeared in his hands.

Meanwhile...

Back at the mansion, Johnny hung out in his living room by himself. He was hoping Mileena would be okay. Just then he heard a knock on the door.

"Mileena?" he asked, hopeful. He hurried to the door and answered it. Much to his surprise, Sindel was there.

"Oh! Uh, Mrs Kahn!" said Johnny. Sindel gave him a loving smile.

"Oh no need for that. Call me Sindel."

"Right, sorry Sindel. Oh uh, come in!"

Johnny let her in. He closed the door.

"Sorry...I'm a bit on edge right now. Mileena...well you see..."

"It's quite alright, Johnathan. You don't mind Johnathan, do you?"

"Not at all." said Johnny.

"I know all about Mileena's mission. She called her father and I just over an hour ago. And of course he sprung into action to help her. I decided to check on you to make sure you, your daughter and Frost are all okay."

"Yeah...they're finally getting some sleep."

"That's good."

"Look, I appreciate you coming to check up on us, but I don't want to put you in any danger." explained Johnny.

Sindel let out a loud laugh.

"Danger you say?"

Sindel made her Kwan Dao appear out of nowhere, with the blade just inches from Johnny's startled face.

"I can hold my own very well. Just wait until you hear my war cry."

"I stand corrected!" said Johnny with a nervous smile. Sindel giggled and made her Kwan Dao disappear.

"So, aren't you going to show me around?" asked Sindel. "This place is quite marvelous."

"Oh! Of course!" said Johnny. He wanted to make a good impression. "Please, this way."

As they made their way into the living room, Cassie and Frost stepped up to them, dressed in pajamas. Frost had borrowed some of Cassie's.

"Ah, Ms Frost. I'm glad to see you're well." said Sindel.

"Oh! Mrs Kahn. What brings you here?"

"Just coming in to check on Mr Cage, Cassandra and you. What exactly happened?"

"Uh...Cassie and I have become friends. We were hanging out and these gangsters attacked us."

"Oh of course. I have heard. Is everyone alright?"

"Yeah...I think so." said Cassie. Sindel stepped up to her.

"I don't think we had the pleasure of meeting." said Sindel as they shook hands. "I am Sindel Kahn, Mileena's mother. She has told me great things about you, Cassie."

Cassie blushed lightly.

"She did?"

"Oh yes. She says you are quite the skilled fighter. I'd like to see your skills some day."

"Uh...sure maybe."

DING DONG! The doorbell rang. Johnny answered the door to see Kano, dressed in a nice suit and wearing glasses with one of the lenses completely blacked out.

"Hello, mate. Kano's the name."

"Uh...hello, there."

"May I come in?"

"Uh...well sir, this isn't a very good time." explained Johnny.

"Oh I'd just be a bit. I have a very interesting proposition for you."

"Oh great. Another one? Look sir-"

"This has been a big misunderstanding, Mr. Cage. I'm the head of the Black Dragon. It has come to my attention that my men attacked you, your daughter and friend."

"So you're the head of that group! Sonya warned me about you." said Johnny.

"Oh come now. I simply wish to parley with you. There's no need for us to scrap."

"That's where you're wrong." said Sindel walking up to him.

"Aw shit. Sindel Kahn?" asked Kano, confused. "Are my boys living under a rock?"

"Seems like it. Begone. You're outnumbered. Leave my friends alone or you'll die."

"You're trying to drive me out of town? Like hell if you think I'm going down without a fight."

ZAP! Kano shot a laser out of his covered eye. Sindel narrowly dodged it as it hit a wall. Kano shot a bunch more as the group dodged each one.

"That's it? I might as well take over this palace as my new base of operations!"

"Fuck you!" said Cassie launching herself at Kano. She threw several punches, all of which Kano avoided. He then rolled into a ball and launched himself at Cassie, knocking her down.

"Cassie!" yelled Frost. She shot several icicles at Kano, with one hitting him in the shoulder.

"Ow! Fucking hell..." said Kano as he pulled it out while shattering it in his hand. He took out a knife and began to duel with Frost, who summoned an ice knife of her own. They dueled for a few moments before Kano knocked her away.

Johnny launched himself at Kano with a flash kick, knocking him to the wall. He landed several punches to Kano and ended his combo with a punch to his groin.

"Gah! You slimy bastard!"

"Speak for yourself!" said Johnny as he grabbed Kano and tossed him away towards Sindel.

BAM! Sindel stabbed her Kwan Dao into Kano's foot. Kano screamed in pain. Sindel then let out a loud SCREECH. The blast riddled Kano's face with wind, and launched him all the way crashing through the window. Kano slowly stepped himself up, and he noticed his foot was ripped open and bleeding profusely. He was then surrounded by several of Johnny's guards.

"Okay, okay. I get ya." said Kano. "I'll let myself out. I'll call off the fucking bounty."

BAM! Kano threw a smoke bomb, and disappeared once the smoke faded.

"Oh dear. My apologies about the window." said Sindel.

"It's alright." said Johnny. "I'm just glad everyone is okay."

Cassie was sitting on the floor. Frost helped her up.

"Are you okay, Cassie?" she asked. Cassie groaned.

"I think so. That asshole packed a punch. I just wish I could've kept up."

"According to my records, you once fought during your time in the special forces." said Sindel. "You've seen many battles, Cassie. You have the strengths and skills to be a great warrior."

"Don't get me wrong, I love a good fight, but those battlefields out there...that isn't for me. I had to endure a lot during my time, and I understand it was for the good of humanity...and while what I was taught probably saved me tonight...I hate that kind of scene."

Frost frowned and felt bad for Cassie. She wanted to step up to Cassie and comfort her in a big hug, but was too shy. Johnny also stared at her sadly.

"Cassie...I had no idea." said Johnny.

"I apologize. I shouldn't have brought it up." said Sindel. "I am more than happy to have you work for us."

"It's okay, Ms. Kahn. I'm happy to work with you as well."

DING DONG!

The doorbell startled them all.

"Hello? Johnny, are you there?"

"Mileena!" Johnny said, excited. He quickly answered the door. Mileena and Kuai Lang were there, covered in blood and bruises.

"I'm sorry, I came here as fast as I co-"

Johnny hugged her. She hugged back.

"Did you do what you needed to do?" he asked.

"Yes...we won. Wait...mother? What are you doing here?"

"Oh...well you see, the leader of the Black Dragon snuck over here. We warded him off. It looks like they're leaving us alone for now."

"Oh thank heavens." Said Mileena, relieved. "Is everyone else okay?"

Everyone nodded.

"Are you alright, Cassie?"

"I'm...fine, Mileena. I just took a bit of a beating."

Just then Shao Kahn stepped up behind Kuai Lang, covered in blood.

"Thank goodness everyone's alright." he said.

"Mr. Kahn?" asked Johnny, surprised.

"You shouldn't have to have any more encounters with the Black Dragon, Mr Cage." explained Shao Kahn. "They'd be fools to keep attacking us."

"Why don't we get some rest?" asked Sindel. "Cassie, Mileena, Frost, you can have tomorrow off. You need some time to heal."

The three of them nodded.

"A splendid idea." agreed Shao Kahn. "I think it's time we all turn in for the evening."

They said their goodbyes and left with Kuai Lang.

That night at the mansion Cassie and Frost went back to sleep, Johnny and Mileena were talking in the bedroom.

"I have to admit Mileena...I was terrified something bad would happen to you."

"I've done many missions such as this one." she said putting her arms around him. "You have nothing to worry about."

"I know but...if anything were to happen to you...I just..."

"It is alright, Johnathan. I understand how you feel."

They cuddled each other as they went to sleep.

The next morning at Earthrealm construction...

Kitana Kahn sat in her office as the CFO of Earthrealm construction. She went through her notes as later she would be having a very important and surely stressful meeting with the board members. She was a beautiful young woman wearing a dark blue suit and her black hair was tied into a bun.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

The loud knock on her office door startled her.

"Come in!"

In came Liu Kang, CIO of Earthrealm construction. He was a handsome, muscular young man wearing a dashing dark red suit.

"Hello Ms Kahn, is this a bad time?" he asked. Kitana gave him a friendly smile.

"Not at all, Liu Kang. In fact, I'm glad you're here." she explained. "And you know there's no need for formalities. We've known each other since we were children."

"R-Right." said Liu Kang as he smiled bashfully. "Look how much we've grown."

"Indeed. Do come in, I wanted to have a talk with you."

Liu Kang nodded and stepped up to Kitana's desk, sitting down in a chair in front of it.

"What troubles you?" he asked. He had known she had been stressed all week.

"It's this meeting. I just wish it to go well. We're on our way to be the number one construction company around, one where we can build the infrastructure of entire cities."

"No one can manage budgets like you can." said Liu Kang. "If we expand our company, I'm sure you'll be able to use our resources to make it happen."

"I know...I just hope our board members think so as well."

"Of course they will. That's why Mr Raiden promoted you to CFO."

"You're right. Perhaps the stress is just getting to me."

"I think I have just the thing to cheer you up. How would you like me to make your favorite tea at lunch?"

"That would be lovely." Kitana said, smiling. Having tea with Liu Kang was one of her favorite things. Liu Kang smiled and nodded.

"Then I'll see you at lunch, Kitana."

Liu Kang left the office. Kitana sat back in her chair. RING! Her phone rang. She answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hello Ms Kahn. You have some visitors here to see you. It appears Johnny Cage is here-"

"Johnny Cage? The actor?" she asked, surprised. "Why on earth would he be here?"

"I'm not sure...but he's also here with...your sister."

Kitana's eyes widened.

"Send them in."
