A Danger Prone Date
"Okay… I'm assuming Tucker had the same date with Caitlyn, so let's just skip to him getting the new girl." Deadpool said.
"What makes you think it's a new girl?" NeoMark asks.
"Look at the title." Deadpool said.
"He has a point, Neo." BCFW pointed to the title. "I mean, this makes it super obvious, to me at least."
"So, is it Sibella, who it clearly cannot be?" Deadpool asks.
"Wait and see…" NeoMark said.
Before Deadpool could press play, a knock was at the door.
"Hey?" FP11 asked from the other side.
"Come in." NeoMark said as he watched her enter. "Sup?"
"Still upset that my Sora defeated your Princess Daisy?" Deadpool asks.
"No. I just wanted to know who wrote swear words all over the wall… then I remembered which of us is the potty mouth, then I connected the two." FP11 said, rolling her eyes at Deadpool.
"Heh…" Deadpool went with a shrug.
"So… who's next? Phantasma?" FP11 asks.
"Nope. Remember how I replaced Alex from Totally Spies with her friend Sam?" NeoMark asks.
"I'm sure someone wishes it was Clover." Deadpool said.
"Well… I'm using another Scooby-Doo character in her place." NeoMark went.
"So, Sibella?" FP11 asks.
"Nope. They both break the rules I made… so I'm picking someone else." NeoMark said.
"Like I said, doesn't the title make it obvious?" BCFW asks.
"Wait and see." NeoMark said before looking at FP11. "Wanna see who it is?" He asks.
"Sure… I gotta wait for the guys to wash that graffiti off to come." FP11 said.
"Was it that bad?" NeoMark asks.
"I don't really want to say, it'd get us in serious trouble with readers." FP11 responded with a disgusted look on her face.
Everyone looked at Deadpool disapprovingly, who shrugged. That is, except for BCFW, who was trying his best to hold back a smile.
"Play!" He said, pressing on the remote.
Danny logged on and gave Jen his score of 7 out of 10. They may not have much in common but he did enjoy his time with her. Now, it was time to see his next date.
User Name: Lady Daphne
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 102 lb
Home Town: Laguna Beach, California
Physical Description: Tall, slender, long red hair with purple eyes.
Personality: I'm known as a little danger prone, but I'm ultimately a nice person. I'm a very fashionable girl. I'm also smarter than people give me credit for.
Likes and Interests: Mysteries, fashion, chocolate, and mysteries.
Type of person I wish to date: Someone who doesn't mind who I'm friends with, has no trouble with all the travels I do, and is understanding of my interests.
"Hmm… interesting." He said to himself as he saw where they were going.
Morning
With a quick breakfast and small bouquet in his hand, Danny made it to the bus stop where she's to arrive.
"Let's see where this Lady Daphne is…" He said to himself.
As he looked around, he noticed someone walking in his direction.
"Excuse me? Are you waiting for Lady Daphne?" She asks.
Danny took a moment to examine her.
She is a tall, slender red haired girl with purple eyes, wearing a purple dress, headband, pink mantyhose, a green scarf and purple heels. She was also very pretty, something Danny thought quickly.
With a smile, he nodded.
"That depends. Are you looking for D-Fenton?" He asks.
"I am. I'm Daphne Blake." She said.
"Danny Fenton. And these are for you." He said, handing her the flowers.
"Wonderful…" She said, taking the flowers and sniffing them.
As she did, sighing happily from the scent, she took a step back and accidentally knocked over a man's luggage, causing its contents to fall out.
"HEY!" The man she's bothered shouted.
"Umm… oops?" Daphne went nervously.
As he walked off, Danny mentally processed this.
Another Marinette? Don't tell me she's secretly a hot superhero too? He thought in amusement.
"Uh… anyway… Let's go." Daphne said, gesturing to Danny to follow her.
"Wait… that's not Phantasma!" FP said.
BCFW was quiet, sitting with anticipation alongside the others.
"Ah… well… I'll be honest here. When it comes to the Grimwood Girls, Sibella is my favorite. That said… I can't use either of them, since they break my rules of having plenty of screentime. Plus, since it's Scooby-Doo, there's kind of already a character who kind of needs to be here more. That is Daphne Blake." NeoMark said.
"Helps that Daphne's been many a guy's first crush since the 60's." Deadpool said.
"Yeah… about that… while I knew I had to go with Daphne over the Grimwood Girls… that left me a big problem."
"What big problem?" FP11 asks.
"What version of Daphne Blake in animation are we going with?" NeoMark said.
"Wait. I'm out of the loop here. Are there really that many versions of Scooby-Doo?" BCFW asks.
"Well, first off… There's Be Cool's version, whose whole thing is that she's a bit of a crazy goof who tries a new gag every episode. Then there's Mystery Inc since I do like how they look. And then there's… everything else. Y'know how I said I can't make a composite character for this story? This one is kind of an exception. You see, Warner Bros kind of treats… everything else, the 60's cartoon and the sequel cartoons after that, A Pup Named Scooby-Doo to an extent, Zombie Island and its sequels, What's New, pretty much all of the animated movies and even Guess Who… that's all apparently the same character. I know you're going to ask "How is that the same character since it's been decades since then and she was an adult in at least 4 of those movies yet is still a teenager even until now?" The answer is… because Warner Bros knows these characters are more marketable or whatever at younger ages. Still… she's likely still a teenager as of now… so, we can keep her a teenager here."
"I don't get how she could stay 16 since the 1960s. Wouldn't that make her in her 70's now?" FP11 asked.
"True but keep in mind that since she's an animated character, that means we can keep her the same age as long as we want. Look at how long Ash Ketchum was 10, after all." NeoMark said.
"Since Marvel doesn't like to remember Peter's not a teenager anymore, not a surprise…" Deadpool said.
"I think that's on Disney now." BCFW muttered.
"No, it was before their purchase too." NeoMark said.
With Danny and Daphne
The two walked together from the bus stop, where they started talking.
"So, Daphne? I read you're from Laguna Beach. What's it like?" He asks.
"Well, we like to call it Coolsville. It's kind of a nickname we've had for it since the 90's. It's pretty great… even with all the crimes." Daphne said.
"Crimes?" Danny asks.
"Yup, mostly people trying to scam their way to make money. Every one of them had a little gimmick that seemed to cost more money than they'd make. Which is another reason why I'm here." Daphne said.
"Which is…?" Danny asks.
However, Daphne's stomach started to rumble.
"Um… actually… can we stop somewhere for food? I missed breakfast." She said.
Danny blinked before shrugging.
"Sure…"
At a deli
The two walked out, with Daphne eating a breakfast sandwich of eggs, cheese, and sausage.
"What a relief…" She said as she ate the sandwich.
"I find it a little weird that you asked the guy not to put stuff like sauerkraut or pork or relish or anything else that clearly did not belong on it." Danny pointed out.
"Let's just say my friends, Shaggy and Scooby, have odd tastes in food." Daphne explained.
"I see…" Danny said before he began to notice something.
"They tend to tower their sandwiches sky high and vacuum the whole thing like it was nothing. Honestly, sometimes I wonder where they put it." Daphne said before noticing the way Danny was looking at her suddenly. "Uh, something wrong?"
"... I'm sorry, but… Daphne? Have we… met before?" He asks.
"Uh… no?" Daphne responded.
"Sorry, it's just… you sound… oddly familiar." Danny admitted, finding her voice familiar yet her tone seemed much more polite than what he was thinking of.
"Really? How so?" Daphne asks.
"Hmm… y'know? I don't really know where I'm thinking I heard it." Danny said as he scratched his chin.
"Well… while we're here… why not show me around?" Daphne asks.
"Uh… okay." Danny said.
As the two walked, they didn't know a certain ghost was watching from the skies.
"Huh… hello, misplaced aggression. Let's rock!"
30 minutes later
Danny and Daphne were now walking by the museum.
"Liking Amity Park so far?" Danny asks with a smile.
"So far so good. This town's a goldmine of mysteries." Daphne said.
"Mysteries? Like how the FDA approved of a sauce that explodes?" Danny asks with a smile.
"I meant the ghosts. It's just like back home. People dress up as monsters and stuff, my friends and I happen to just be in the area and we solve the mysteries." Daphne said.
"Really? The police don't get involved?" Danny asks.
"Nope. They're kind of… not very good at their jobs." Daphne said.
"So you help solve the mysteries?" Danny asks.
"Well… I'm there to help but… uh… well…" Daphne went, looking nervous.
"But what?" Danny asks.
Before Daphne could answer, she tripped on a rock, landing face first into the concrete. She also ended up scaring a nearby alley cat into running away, causing a cyclist to brake hard and fall off. His helmet flew off, hitting a parked car's window and cracking it.
Daphne, getting up, laughed awkwardly as she slowly inched back.
"Let's go this way…" Daphne said, taking Danny by the wrist and pulling him into crossing the street.
Looking back at the owner of the car and the cyclist getting into an argument, Danny looked back to Daphne.
"Uh… Daphne?" Danny asks.
She stopped walking, taking a deep breath.
"Y'see… I'm kind of-"
A loud car horn got their attention. Realizing they're standing in the middle of the crosswalk and that the lights have changed, Danny and Daphne ran as fast as they could to the other side.
Once there, the two gasped for air.
"I'm guessing you're-"
"Danger prone?" Daphne asked sheepishly.
"I was gonna say… kind of unlucky, but I guess danger prone works." Danny said.
"Danger Prone Daphne is kind of what my friends call me… because I tend to walk into traps, fall over stuff, make situations slightly worse, get into all sorts of trouble…" Daphne admitted, looking very embarrassed as she spoke of this.
"I see…" Danny said.
"But today's the day I shake it off! Because I'm about to do something even Velma can't do!" Daphne said.
"Which is…?" Danny asks.
Daphne raised her fist and adopted a serious and confident look on her face.
"To solve the mystery that is… Danny Phantom!" She declared.
Danny froze up.
"Uh… what?" Danny asks.
"My friend Velma thinks all this talk about ghosts must be the work of people attempting some kind of pyramid scheme to buy out the town. So… when I found my next date was here, she asked me to find out for myself. This'll prove to people I'm not danger prone!" Daphne said.
Danny blinked at her words, cleaning an ear out as he just registered what today's date had in store.
She thinks I'm some kind of property scam or something? And she wants to find out if I'm real or not? He thought.
1 hour later
With lunch being now, Danny decided to take Daphne to a place she would like, Cafe de Fleur.
It started out okay as Daphne took a seat that Danny pulled up for her.
"Such a gentleman…" She said with a smile.
As Danny sat down, his mind was racing.
Okay… I'm dating someone who thinks ghosts are just a scam and wants to find Danny Phantom. So, I need to avoid her seeing Danny Phantom for now… He thought as he was making his order.
At the same time, someone was watching the restaurant from afar.
"Now… what's he up to? And how to rock his day?"
"It's Ember, isn't it?" Deadpool asks.
"How'd you guess?" NeoMark said.
"Because you and FP are terrible at hiding who's who, that's why." Deadpool said.
Both authors glared at him in displeasure.
Danny's ghost sense sent off, causing him to become alert.
"Not again... " He quietly muttered.
Daphne noticed his expression.
"Are you okay, Danny?" Daphne asked.
"Uh, well, Daphne… I should step out." Danny lied.
Daphne blinked.
"Uh...why?" Daphne asked .
Before Danny could answer, a piercing sound of a guitar was heard. So loud that everyone in the restaurant covered their ears.
"Guess I can rule out the Box Ghost..." Danny said quickly.
"Everyone outside!" One of the waiters shouted, pointing to the fire exit.
Daphne was about to go, only to look back at Danny.
"Go. I'm slow but I'll be fine." He assured.
With a reluctant nod, Daphne did as Danny said.
Once the coast was clear, Danny hid under a table and changed forms. Once ghostly, he phased out of the table.
"Not the kind of two timing I was expecting to do..." He said, taking off to find the source of that guitar.
Unknown to him, Daphne saw the ghost boy fly off as she left the restaurant and gasped.
"Jeepers? Is that the ghost kid? I gotta see this for myself..." Daphne went before deciding to start following him. She did look back in the direction of the crowds before shaking her head. "Danny will be fine…"
Danny flew about a block away from the restaurant, seeing Ember as he glared at her.
"This again?!" He exclaimed.
"Miss me, Baby Pop?" Ember quipped.
"Like a skin rash. What are you doing here, Ember?" He demanded as the villainess strummed her guitar.
"Oh, the usual… cause chaos and plot to take over the world. Then I saw you and figured I could toss you around a bit and have a little fun..." She said while smirking.
Danny glared more.
"You seriously need a hobby..." He said, as he sent a blast at her.
Ember used her guitar to deflect it.
"I do have one! It's knocking you out!" Ember said.
She closed the gap between then before swinging her guitar as a melee weapon, which Danny ducked out of the way from.
"Look, let's just kick your butt and send you back to the ghost zone fast, I'm on a date right now..." Danny said.
Hearing this made Ember frown.
"So, finally decided to take a shot with that goth chick? You can do better." She said dismissively.
"What? No. Her name is Daphne and unlike you, she is actually really cool and prettier..." Danny said, wondering why everyone always assumes he and Sam are a thing.
Hearing that irritated Ember more until she got an idea.
So, Babypop thinks he's a chick magnet, huh? Maybe it's time that I tried something new to mess with him? She thought.
Ember grabbed Danny by the collar and yanked him forward.
"What are yo-"
"Pucker up!" Ember said as she pressed her lips against his lips in a forceful manner.
For a brief moment, he froze up. The realization he was being kissed by Ember of all people just hit him as his eyes widened to almost inhuman levels.
To his surprise, he then kissed her back by instinct for a moment, almost automatically. It was as if something hidden within him just came out.
However, he realized what he was doing and pushed her off.
"I can't believe you just did that!" He yelled, wiping his mouth.
Ember just smiled.
"I'm oddly hating you less now..." She said, both mocking and somewhat interested.
That's when a gasp was heard. Turning his head, Danny had seen who it was.
"Oh no…" He muttered.
Daphne saw that and began to jump to conclusions.
"That ghost kid Danny Phantom? And is that Ember McLain, the former Rockstar? Are they a couple? They're partners!" She concluded, not realizing how wrong she is right now.
"What?! Wait, no! You got it wrong!" Danny said with his arms waving.
Seeing how Danny reacted, Ember came to a conclusion.
"So this is her? Hmm…" She said under her breath as she momentarily took a look at Daphne from top to bottom. "She ain't so hot, I've seen more meat on chicken fries than this twig. But, still better fashion sense than that rainbow of sunshine he's into." Her voice dripped with sarcasm over Sam.
"I'm Daphne Blake and I'm gonna crack this mystery! You two are trying to scare everyone to hype up the town's tourism, aren't you?,." Daphne hypothesized out loud.
Ember made a face at that before looking to Danny for the answer.
"She thinks the ghosts here are some kind of hoax to enable someone to buy property or something." Danny responded flatly.
"See if this is a hoax!" Ember said, striking her guitar and unleashing a wave of energy at Daphne.
"JEEPERS!" Daphne screamed as she braced for the worst.
"Daphne?!" Danny shouted as he flew fast.
With quick speeds, he managed to grab her and carry her to safety.
Once she was safe, Daphne opened her eyes and saw herself several feet above the ground.
"I'm… I'm flying?" She asks.
"Yup." Danny said.
Daphne waved her arms above Danny's head.
"No wires? No cables? How ar-"
"Are you okay?" He asked, cutting her off.
While a little shaken, Daphne recovered and nodded.
"Yeah, I'm fine..." She said.
"Hey! Remember me?!" Ember said as she fired from her guitar.
As Danny avoided the projectiles she launched, the danger prone redhead began to realize something.
"So, this...isn't a scam?" Daphne asked somewhat weakly.
Before Danny could respond, Ember let her hair burn brighter as it grew. Before Ember could attack, Danny raised a hand and blasted her in the abdominal region, knocking her into a tree that she broke through before hitting a flagpole.
"Does that look like a scam to you?" Danny snarked.
"No..." Daphne said.
Danny then landed on the ground, gently putting Daphne down.
"Ms. Blake, I'm going to have to ask you to take cover." He said.
As he did that, Daphne looked him in the eye and felt her face become flushed.
"S-Sure…" She said with a small smile before realizing what his intent was. "Wait, you're going to fight your girlfriend?" She asks, slowly realizing how wrong she's been.
"Not my girlfriend… and I'm a superhero. I'm not some dork wearing a mask trying to buy someone's house, drum up tourism or whatever you think this is." Danny said as he flew off.
As he did, Daphne felt a sense of Deja vu.
"This is that summer with the Chest of Demons all over again…" She said under her breath.
"Wait, wasn't she an adult when that short series came out?" FP11 asks.
"Again, WB considers everything outside of those distinct shows and movies I mentioned canon." NeoMark said.
"In other words, you mashed things together in a neat little routine, adding in elements from all over the franchise that best suited your needs." BCFW explained.
"I refer you to what I just said to her." NeoMark responded.
With a swing of his leg, Danny kicked Ember's guitar in half.
"Let's see you rock without that!" Danny said with a smile.
To his surprise, Ember just shrugged.
"Eh, I guess the fun is over now. Gotta admit, I had more fun with you than I thought. I'm actually getting into you now..." Ember said, surprising Danny.
"Uh, what?" He went.
"Don't get the wrong idea, you still get on my nerves and I am still peeved when you ruin my plans...but I never said you weren't cute...and not a bad kisser either..." She said.
"Uh...wow...this is unexpected...flattering...yet unwanted..." Danny said, feeling conflicted before he noticed Ember frowned at him. "Remember, you tried to kill me, my friends and take over the world...multiple times. That's not exactly the story I want to tell my kids on how I met their mother."
"True...but it's still not discouraging me..." Ember shrugged.
"Can you go now? Before I grab the Thermos." Danny warned her.
"Fine, fine…" Ember said as her ponytail began to circle her. "Catch you on my next comeback tour."
With a laugh, she disappeared, leaving a conflicted Danny to groan before deciding to go back to his date.
5 minutes later
Danny, back in his human form, was looking for his blind date.
I hope that Daphne isn't too shaken up. Or that she thinks I'm a coward... He thought.
"Danny..." Daphne was heard.
Danny turned his head, relieved when he saw Daphne running to him.
"Daphne! You're okay? What happened?" He asked, playing dumb.
"You won't believe this..." Daphne said
"I'm sure I won't…" Danny said with a knowing smile.
As Daphne explained, Danny noticed that she seemed to be getting more excited.
"That ghost kid is actually real. I found another real ghost..." She said happily.
"Another?" Danny asks.
"Long story… but the point is… there's no mystery. Your town is actually haunted." She said excitedly before her stomach grumbled. "Oh right, we didn't get to eat…" She said with an embarrassed look on her face.
"So… back to the café?" Danny asks as Daphne nodded.
After lunch
Danny and Daphne continued their date, both talking about their lives.
"So, you're the son of ghost hunters? Like, people who film ghosts?" Daphne asks.
"No… they shoot ghosts with lasers." Danny said.
"Golly. That reminds me of this two person group with their cat that stole our look. A shame we're minors, we'd be able to sue them…" Daphne said.
"The Groovy Gang? I was wondering where that look came from." Danny said.
"Blame Fred. He bought our van, the Mystery Machine, from someone who had it painted in the 60's and Fred thinks it's a great look." Daphne said.
"I'm sure I will if I meet him…" Danny said jokingly.
As they walked and talked, Daphne couldn't help but notice something.
Huh? Danny kinda reminds me a bit of Phantom. Same hair, smile and tone... She thought, though she quickly figured that it was just a coincidence.
After another 2 hours, Danny had walked with Daphne the entire time, showing her almost everything the town has to offer when it comes to hauntings.
All the while, Daphne listened to him speak of all ghost related activity with a smile.
"And this is where that giant plant ghost made his takeover of Amity Park." Danny said, gesturing to where he defeated Undergrowth.
"Golly… the only real mystery is how are you all still in one piece." She commented. It was then Danny snickered. "Something wrong?"
"It's just… "Golly"? "Jeepers"?" He asks while momentarily mimicking her voice. "You talk like someone from the 60's."
"It's sort of a thing my family has kind of… inherited. Plus, where I come from, 60's nostalgia is a thing." Daphne admitted.
"I see…" Danny said.
Should have guessed from her outfit. He thought with a smile.
The two continued talking until Daphne noticed the time.
"Darn, it's almost time for me to go. Walk me to the bus stop?" Daphne asks.
"Sure thing." Danny said.
As they walked, Danny continued to speak with Daphne.
"It was fun meeting you, Daphne. The only real mystery is why haven't we met sooner." Danny said.
"Funny. So, maybe you and your parents can join us on a mystery someday? I mean, regardless of whether or not we pick each other." Daphne said.
"Bad idea. I mentioned how… trigger happy they are. The fake ghost could become a real ghost…" Danny said.
"Hmm… fair point." Daphne admitted.
"Yeah, don't wanna run you out of a job you don't get paid for." Danny joked, earning a laugh from Daphne.
"I gotta say… even though you're younger, I think you're a swell guy." She said.
"Really?" Danny asks.
It was then that Daphne quickly kissed Danny on the cheek.
"I sure do." She said.
"Uh...oh...wow...thanks." Danny admitted with a blush.
"Still, I think you'd be an interesting consultant for us if we ever see a real ghost. I know I've seen a few before, so it'd be nice to have someone else to speak with about them." Daphne said.
"Sure, but why me?" Danny asked.
"Well, not like I can ask Danny Phantom." Daphne said as she pondered. "Though, I think he'd make Velma lose her mind."
"What's this? Interested in another Danny?" Danny asks with a smile.
"Heh. Well, he is cute, but I don't think I could be someone he likes." Daphne said.
"Don't sell yourself short. You're really pretty and nice." Danny said.
"And danger prone. I almost got toasted by a real ghost, after all." Daphne reminded him.
"I'm pretty sure that's just the excuse he needs to spend time with you." Danny jokingly said.
"Cute." Daphne said with a smile.
The two arrived at the bus stop, where Daphne's ride arrived.
"Next bus to home?" Danny asks.
"Looks like." Daphne said before hugging Danny. "Thanks again. If you're ever in my area, look me up."
"Got it." Danny said as he hugged her back before she let go.
"Bye!" Daphne went as she ran for it, only to trip on a piece of cement that was crooked and ended up falling onto the ground.
"Ooh…" Danny went as he flinched, making a hissing sound.
Daphne got up and dusted herself before laughing nervously.
"Danger prone… heh… bye." She said before going back to getting to her bus.
Danny laughed to himself as Daphne waved before entering.
As the bus left, Danny turned and started to walk home.
"I should probably choose her just so she doesn't get into any more danger. Though, I'd probably be overkill. We might solve mysteries and take on ghosts, the problem is my ghosts aren't dorks in masks. And while Tucker eats like her friends, I don't have a talking dog. I know a dog who can grow in size but he can't talk." He looked up for a moment. "Although, I guess Wulf is like a talking dog."
As he looked back and smiled at where Daphne's bus went, Danny found a spot to morph to fly home.
Just wish I knew why her voice sounded familiar...
Okay, with thanks to BeConFuzzled Writer and Flower Princess11, this chapter's over.

Wow, I have a pretty good idea which characters from Milo Murphy's Law and Xiaolin Showdown people want.
