Mex's Dimensional Adventures
Arc 1, Chapter 3: Supernatural
"This creature," I say, looking at Sam.
"You guys have hunted one before?" I ask, returning my focus to my weapons.
"Yeah, a few times actually," Sam said.
"And what were they called again?" I say.
"Ghouls!" Dean said, jumping into the conversation.
"The head is their weakness, if you can destroy the head, you kill the thing," Castiel said.
"Headshots? Too bad for them, I was on the Crucible leaderboards for headshot accuracy," I say with a chuckle.
The three of them glance at each other in clear confusion before raising an eyebrow at me.
"The Crucible is a training exercise that pits guardian against guardian to the death," I say.
The brothers' eyes go wide for a moment as they look at each other.
"To the death" Doesn't carry that much weight when you're immortal I guess huh?" I say with a smile.
"It was used to sharpen our reflexes and our Light so that when we took it into battle, it was much more effective; Better to die a hundred times to allies than to die a final death to the enemy," I say.
"Wow, I can see the logic in that, but that's-" Sam said.
"Harsh," Dean finished.
Castiel looked at me with a smidge of pity, but I brushed it off.
"It's okay, that training kept me alive for as long as it did, and besides, the children of the city would gather and cheer us on, it became a sport of sorts," I said.
"The children would garner hope from watching how well we fought, and we were rewarded with both experience as well as weapons," I say, picking up my sniper rifle.
"In fact, this rifle was a favourite for snipers in The Crucible and quite a few of my weapons come from it," I say, resetting the bolt.
At this moment, Crowley appears in the room and addresses us.
"Hello fellas," he said, causing the brothers to jump.
"Turns out it's an entire pack of the darn things, twenty-plus of them," he said.
"Care to join us, Crowley?" I say.
"He's joking right?" Crowley said, looking at Castiel.
"Yeah, I figured you were pretty useless," I said, shooting a wink at Dean who cracked a smile.
"I'll have you know! I'm a little busy running hell and I don't-" Crowley said, getting interrupted.
"We going or what?" Dean said, heading for the door with a bag around his shoulder.
"I- you-" Crowley stuttered out as we all walked past him.
"I've never seen anyone leave Crowley so speechless before," Sam said, tossing his bag into the car.
"You're gonna have to teach me how to do that," Dean said.
I smile and climb into the back seat.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
We've been driving for about four hours when Dean pulls the car into a large cemetery parking lot.
"We're here," Dean said, turning off the engine.
"Ghost? Run a scan of our area, hundred clicks round circle," I say, drawing my weapon.
"What's the scan for?" Sam said, opening the rear of the car.
"Any identifiable threats, it pings them on Ghosts H.U.D and I get a heads up if they make a move towards us," I say, checking the rounds of my Ace of Spades.
"Ah, smart," Sam said.
"Negative threats Mex, you're clear to move," Ghost said out loud.
"We so need one of those," Dean said.
Ghost turned to me and gave me a joking stink eye before returning to my "pocket"
"Alright, if Crowley was telling the truth, those things are gonna be spread all over this place," Dean said.
"Yeah, this cemetery is massive, a mile in every direction from the centre," Sam said.
"How do we locate them?" I said, listening in.
"Your nose, they stink of death, keep an eye out for freshly moved dirt as they can dig very well," Dean said.
"Copy that," I said, raising my weapon and picking a direction.
"You still have that communicator I gave you Dean?" I said.
"Yeah, right here," he said, holding it up.
"Nice, Castiel, take this one, and Sam, this one," I say, handing out other comms units.
"They work like walkie-talkies," Dean said.
"What's the range on these?" Sam said.
"With these old satellites? At least around the planet," I say, turning my helmet on.
Sams's mouth hangs open for a moment as he refocuses on the task at hand.
"Impressive technology, something like that is at least fifty years away from the humans of the current age," Castiel said.
"How about the spaceship?" Dean said
"A hundred years," Castiel replied.
"FTL travel?" Sam said.
"Five hundred," Castiel said.
"If you play nice, I might leave you mine," I said with a smirk only Castiel could see.
"Really?" Dean said.
"No," I said, giggling my head off.
Dean looked at Sam who was smiling and shrugged.
"Worth a try," he said.
"Alright, eyes up, we got Ghouls to put back in the ground," I said, activating my helmet's visor and turning around.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Twenty minutes into the hunt and we are calling out kills over the comms left and right.
"Got two," Sam said.
"Just finished one here," Dean said.
"Just killed two," Castiel said.
"Got five, got lucky, these things are messy huh?" I said.
"Oh yeah, hope that armour of yours can be cleaned," Dean joked.
Distant gunshots.
"Got another two, I think there are more than twenty," Sam said.
"I believe Sam is correct, I think the main hunting party has returned," Castiel said.
"Alright, let's see if we can't corral them to the middle with some bait of some kind," I say.
"Huh? Bait? Are y'all going fishing or somethin?" Applejack said.
"Applejack? Is that you?" I say.
"Darn tootin' sugarcube, is this a bad time?" Applejack replied.
"Uh, kinda," I say, shooting two more ghouls.
"What was that?" Applejack said.
"Uh, nothin much, just helpin out my new friends here with a problem, I'll call y'all back okay?" I say.
"Got three more, they're swarming to the mausoleum, let's meet there," Sam said.
"Who was that? And why does he sound handsome?" Applejack said.
"Hoo whee Sammy! You got a date!" Dean said.
"Gotta go Applejack! Love you! Call later!" I say, disconnecting the connection from the ship.
"Not funny Dean," Sam said.
"You three would make great ponies!" I said with a knowing smirk.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
After rounding up as many as we can to the mausoleum, I meet up with my new friends a short distance away, we peer over a small hill and spot dozens of ghouls patrolling the entrance.
"Alright, let's do this, strike formation," I say, pulling my sniper rifle from my back and loading a magazine.
The three of them look at me with confusion and raised eyebrows.
"Oh, right, um, I'm going to cover you three with my rifle, while you charge in and have some fun," I say, setting my sights.
"Ah, right," Dean said.
"Let's go," Castiel said, leading the charge.
The three of them, moving like angels of death across the field were spotted by the ghouls who began to rush them. Foe after foe began dropping like flies to the advanced weaponry. I barely had to do anything.
Castiel swinging that blade as a veteran, cutting them down like a hot knife through butter, finished off the last one. The brothers catch their breath and Castiel checks them for injuries.
In my scope, I see one left stalking them from the roof of the mausoleum. Sam notices it as it screeches and rears its claws.
I squeeze the trigger of my Beloved and a shot rings out into the cold night air, reverberating through the very chest of Sam and Dean.
The bullet penetrates the ghoul over the lip, and it vaporises into solar heat.
"Holy crap!" Dean said.
"Yeah," Sam said.
Castiel looks back at me and nods, I make my way down.
"We're gonna have to clean the inside of that and make sure there are none that hid away," I say, pointing to the mausoleum.
"No, ghouls can't resist a live meal, if one of them attacks, they all frenzy," Sam said.
"If there are any left, they'd be on the outer edges of the cemetery," Dean said.
"Oh, well, let's say we wrap this up and go pick off any remaining before they hurt somepon- I mean, someone," I say.
"You seem to have gotten used to using that blade Castiel," I say, motioning towards the sword.
"Yeah, I would very much like to keep it," he said, displaying no emotion.
I smile and chuckle and head towards the edges.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
After an hour of checking the perimeter of the cemetery, dodging the local law enforcement who came to check out the gunshot. We killed two more ghouls before declaring the hunt a success. It was two in the morning when we got back to the car.
"You know, you'd make a dam good hunter kid," Dean said, packing the fusion rifle away.
"What are you gonna do now?" Sam said, packing the shotgun away.
My eyes flashed white, and, in my heart, I knew I had succeeded in completing my mission.
"My mission is done, guess I'll go home in the morning, but for now, let's go have that drink," I say, motioning for them to grab hold of my shoulders.
We transmat to the ship and I make my way to the back after asking Ghost to take us back to orbit. I press a button and a small travel bar opens up and unfolds.
"Oh, what?!" Dean said.
I grab four small glasses and pour some liquid into them.
"This is a favourite from where I come from, originally, not Equestria; It's called Blueberry Plasma," I say, handing a glass to the others and making my way to the cockpit and sitting down and taking a sip.
Sam and Dean sniff it attentively and take a sip.
"Oh wow, holy," Dean said.
"Got some kick," Sam said.
"But it's very nice," Castiel said.
The brothers agree and sip again.
We all share a moment of peace when I look up.
"Dean, I'm gonna need the fusion rifle back as it's too advanced for this time frame but I'm gonna give you a shotgun just like Sam's and y'all can keep em; Perhaps you can use em to win even more battles while I'm not around, eh?" I say.
"W-what? Really?" Sam said.
"Yeah, you guys could do with an advantage for once," I say, taking another sip.
"Wow, that's, really helpful actually," Dean said.
"And you Castiel, you are one with that blade on the battlefield," I say.
"Thank you," Castiel said with a hint of actual emotion.
"I have something for all three of you too," I say.
I hand them a tome titled "A Complete History of The Guardians,"
"If, you know, you ever wanted to learn of our history," I say, handing it to Sam who takes it with hungry eyes.
Castiel thinks for a moment and retrieves a small silver blade and hands it to me.
"Here, this is a smaller version of my blade, just as powerful but more compact," he said.
I accept the blade and study it for a moment, intricate runes engraved onto the blade, reminds me of a buffed-up hunter knife.
"Thank you Castiel, I will remember you whenever I dismember my future foes," I said with a chuckle, sheathing the blade onto my armour.
Sam and Dean chuckle as Castiel cocked a head to the side.
"You know, I'm surprised other angels didn't show up to speak to Mex," Sam said.
"They're probably quaking in their holy boots instead," Dean said.
"I concur, I can hear them talking about Mex, concerned he will make a move on Heaven; They're terrified of him," Castiel said.
"Well, they don't have to be, I'm an ally to any who aligns with the Light," I say.
"Come on, I wanna show you something," I say, and disengage the orbit lock and take the controls.
We spend the remainder of my time there visiting different planets in the solar system like Mercury, Mars etc. Sam taking pictures every few seconds. I warned him he couldn't show those to anyone if he didn't want questions flying and he agreed. He said he was going to only show them to their friend named "Bobby" their stand-in father.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
It's early morning when I transmat down to the room to say one final goodbye and to leave them with a signal device.
"If the fight starts looking bad and you need backup, push and hold this button for five seconds and then yank this pin out and it will send a signal to me wherever I am," I say, handing the signal device to Sam.
"Thanks, kid, we will," Dean said.
"Bobby's gonna love this," Dean said.
"If he doesn't retire our asses cuz he thinks we're crazy," Sam said.
"Fine with me," Dean said with a shrug.
"Hey, were you screwing around when you said that lightning wasn't the most powerful force you wielded?" Sam said to me.
I chuckle and close my eyes, focusing on a single point on my hand, fusing Void, Solar and Arc Light into one and adding Alicorn magic to the mix. In an instant a ball of rainbow energy forms on my hand. It swirls and rushes around my body like a graceful dance, my eyes flash rainbow while the Omni power dances around my body.
The three of them pick their jaws off the floor and struggle to say anything.
"That is a mixture of the Light and Equestrian magic, I call it Omni," I say with a wink and transmat onto my ship.
"Alrighty Ghost, take us into orbit when you're finished plotting our course back home please," I say.
"Copy that, retreating to orbit," Ghost said.
I checked the rear cameras of the ship and Sam, Dean and Castiel had come outside and were waving at the retreating ship. I smiled and went to max thrust, knowing Dean would love the roar of the engine.
"Was it wise to leave them with advanced weaponry Mex?" Ghost said.
"Yes, of course, you heard them, monsters outnumber them? Hundreds to one? Sound familiar? And they don't have Ghosts," I say.
"I suppose you're right; I hope they save more people with them," Ghost said.
I nod my agreement.
"Alright, is Equestria targeted on the drive?" I say.
"Yes, just awaiting you to engage the drive," Ghost said.
"Alright, I'll ahead and see if anypony is listening in," I say, picking up the receiver.
"Mex to Ponyville come in," I say.
"I repeat, Mex to Ponyville, come in," I say again.
Silence.
"Meh, it is pretty early, I doubt anyone other than Applejack is up at this hour," I say, reaching for the controls of the DHM.
"Here we go!" I say, pulling the lever to engage the drive.
The ship glows bright white again and a jump is engaged, we soon find ourselves flying through the multiverse for a few seconds when we arrive in orbit above Ponyville.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Applejack had just gotten her family awake for the second day of Cider season, a lot of groggy eyes and groaning as they sat down for breakfast. Applejack had served everyone when the talk began.
"Mornin y'all, Cider season continues today, we have more than yesterday but a'hm still worried about our supply," Applejack said.
"Don't worry yer filly head young'un," Granny said.
"They know we try our best," Granny continued.
"Yeah, sides, it don't feel special without Mex," Apple Bloom said.
"Hey now, y'all know he'll be back soon, sure we don't know when but still," Applejack said, finishing off breakfast.
"Ah know, I just can't wait t' here about his adventure!" Apple Bloom said, getting ready to head out.
"Eeyup!" Big Mac said.
Applejack smiled.
"Come on y'all, let's get the cider loaded," she said.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
"Ten minutes till we're open fer business!" Granny Smith said to the loudspeaker.
"Hey, Apples!" Spike said atop Twilight who just arrived.
"Hey, you two! We should have enough for everypony so don't worry about-" Applejack said when a loud *bang* was heard above the town.
Everypony gasped and looked to the sky to see Mex's spaceship re-enter orbit and head for the town.
"Oh my gosh! It's Mex!" Apple Bloom said, quickly waving a hoof.
The ship hovers a few hundred meters from the stand and Mex stumbles out of a transmat.
"Hey hey! I'm home!" I say, hugging Apple Bloom who has appeared from seemingly nowhere.
"Mex! Oh, sweet Celestia!" Applejack said, swooping both Apple Bloom and myself up into a hug.
"Hey, y'all! I missed you so much!" I said, nuzzling Applejack who responded by checking me for injuries.
"Are y'all okay? What happened out there?" Applejack said.
"Oh, leave him be AJ, he's fine, hi sweet pea," Granny said, nuzzling me too.
"Yeah, it was, hectic," I said lowering my head for a moment.
"Ooh! Did I drop into cider season?" I said, rubbing my hooves together.
"Eeyup," Big Mac said, hugging me too.
"Did y'all need some help or-" I said.
"Mex! You're back!" Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo said at the same time, hugging me.
"Sweetie Belle! Scootaloo hi!" I say hugging them both.
"You're not hurt, are you?" Sweetie Belle said, examining me.
"No, I'm fine, if I was hurt Ghost would heal me remember?" I say.
I went around to all present and greeted them in kind, repeating this conversation many times. I ended with Twilight and Spike.
"Hi, Twilight! Hi Spike!" I say, giving them both hugs.
"Mex! Hi! how did your mission go? Actually, wait, I'm sure the princesses would love to hear that too," Twilight said.
"Yes, we would," Celestia said, landing with Luna and Cadance behind us.
"Princesses!" We all say in unison and bow.
"They're really good at that," I remark.
"Greetings Mex, thou hast returned from thy quest?" Luna said.
"I have, and it was a success, would you like a full report?" I say.
"Indeed, if Applejack can spare you," Cadance said.
"Oh, of course, we'll be fine, would y'all like a mug of apple cider? On the house," Applejack said.
The princesses, including Twilight and I got a mug each and walked a short distance away.
"So, how did you go?" Celestia said.
"No problems, at all, an enemy, the Hive somehow infiltrated the other world, and I teamed up with some locals to hunt them down, simple op," I said, taking a drink.
"Oh, wow this cider is good," I said.
"Good, and no problems? No issues arose?" Cadance said.
"Well, there was the time I had to res-" Ghost said before I quickly interrupted.
"Y-yeah! Like I said, no problems ha ha..." I say, glaring at Ghost.
"Wait, let him speak, what was the issue?" Celestia said.
I sigh and shrug at Ghost.
"I was going to say we had no problems aside from the time I had to resurrect Mex once, that's all, I'm glad I have confirmation that I can still do it with," Ghost said.
I groan internally as I feel the gaze of four very concerned princesses falls on me.
"Yeah, okay, I died once, those blasted cursed thrall! No pun intended," I say.
"I'm fine, really," I said.
The princesses recovering from their shock.
"Why did you try and hide that from us?" Twilight said.
"Well, I didn't want y'all to worry about me, then blabbermouth over there ruined that..." I said, nudging Ghost with a nuzzle.
Four raised eyebrows later I sigh.
"Okay, I'm sorry, yes, I died once while I was there, no different than last time," I offered.
"You're getting checked out," All four princesses said together.
"Oh, for f-" I thought to myself.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
"Yep, he's totally fine Princesses," Doctor Horse said.
"May I ask what happened?" Nurse Sweetheart said.
"We just wanted Mex to be checked on after perishing in battle and being revived for the first time since he got here," Princess Cadance said.
"What?! He-" Doctor Horse and Nurse Sweetheart said together.
"Nope! You said I'm healthy! Thank you, Doctor and Nurse! Have a great day!" I said with a quick skip.
"W-wait! We need to do many more tests, we-we-we we need-" Doctor Horse stuttered.
"Thank you both, good luck getting him being still for five more seconds," Twilight said with a chuckle.
The princesses follow Mex outside and walk towards Twilight Castle.
"Mex, we need to talk to you about something else, shouldn't take long," Celestia said.
"Oh, okay," I said.
"See, there has been a massive increase of nobles attending court during both the day and night," Celestia said.
"Okay," I say.
"The nobles are all asking my aunty's permission," Cadance said.
"Permission for what?" I say, confused.
"They request your hoof in marriage they do," Luna said.
My eyes go wide, and my jaw hits the floor.
"W-what? Why would they want to marry me?" I said, shocked.
The princesses giggle.
"Mex, something you haven't known until now, is that Equestria has far more mares than stallions, I feel you may have realised that yourself," Twilight said.
"Yeah, I mean, I did notice that," I say.
"For every ten mares, there are only three stallions," Cadance said.
"Whoa, I didn't think the difference was that big," I said.
"Indeed, many mares are already seeking a herd by the time they finish school," Celestia said.
"A herd?" I say.
"A herd is a practice in which a lead mare combines with usually two of her friends and seeks out one stallion to wed with the entire group," Luna said.
"So, like polygamy then?" I say, only to receive four head turns.
"Uh, the practise of having more than one wife or husband," I say.
"More than one stallion to oneself? Tis selfish beyond measure!" Luna said.
Celestia put a hoof on Luna's shoulder and calmed her.
"Yes, that's exactly when a herd agreement is, see, you're not only a colt, but you're also an alicorn, very rich, very famous, very powerful and you're unattached," Celestia said.
"It was only a matter of time before you would be sought after," Cadance said.
"But- but I've explained why I can never be in a relationship, physically, I'm too young and mentally I'm too old and all that," I said.
"Yeah... in Equestria it's really only your physical age that matters, and it surely doesn't matter to those nobles," Twilight said.
"Besides, I think you'll find you're already much younger mentally than when you first arrived, you may have the experience of your older self but, the maturity of a regular colt," Celestia said.
"I-I don't deserve love," I said, a single tear falling from my eye down my cheek.
The princesses gasp in shock, especially Cadance.
"What makes you say that Mex?" Cadance said, lifting my head by putting a hoof under my chin.
"I-I'm a killer, I know they're the enemy, but I have killed so many-" I said, getting stopped.
"In the defence of millions more," Cadance said, hugging me.
"Our niece speaks naught but the truth Mex," Luna said.
"You're a hero Mex," Twilight said, putting a wing around me.
"Everypony deserves to be loved Mex, promise me you won't think that way again?" Cadance said, after making me look her in the eyes.
"O-okay," I say with a smile.
"Now, about the nobles, just be aware that many ponies may approach you and ask you to be a part of their daughter's herd," Cadance said.
"The choice is yours, but remember, you would not officially be married until both you and the herd members were all sixteen years of age," Celestia said.
"Wait, would ponies stop approaching me if I was already in a herd?" I asked.
"Certs, they would slow, or they would ask to join it," Luna said.
"But slower is better than every second I was outside," I said.
"You said you needed three mares to one stallion for a herd?" I said.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
I step onto the wooden ramp leading up to the Crusader Clubhouse and hear the girls planning out activities. I smile.
I carefully approach the door and quietly open it, the girls are all facing away from the door, perfect!
I casually sit down two ponies' length behind Sweetie Belle and lie down with a hoof supporting my head and listen up.
"So that's the plan until Mex finishes with the Pr-" Apple Bloom said turning around and seeing me.
"Oh! Mex! When did you get back?" Apple Bloom said, causing the others to spin around.
"Um, about ten minutes ago," I said with a smirk.
"What? Why didn't you say- oh, Mex!" Apple Bloom said with a giggle.
"Hey Mex! What did the Princesses want?" Scootaloo said.
"Oh, nothing much, just wanted a report on my first mission across the dimensions; Well, that and to tell me everypony in Equestria wants their daughters to marry me apparently," I said.
"Huh?" They all said at once with a hint of panic in Sweetie's eyes.
"Oh, well apparently colts and stallions are very desirable cuz there's not many of us or something, and they warned me that I'd be accosted many times while out and about, train ticket sales to Ponyville from across Equestria have already tripled," I say.
"But I could slow them if I was already in a herd agreement with three mares or fillies," I said.
"Anyway, what's the plan for today? I know I already got my cutie mark but that doesn't mean I wanna stop hanging out," I say.
"Hold on, don't you want to find your special someponies someday?" Scootaloo asked.
"I mean, yeah, but I think I'm just destined to not have love," I said.
The girls all gasp and glance at each other.
"Oh, please don't tell Princess Cadance I said that heh," I added.
"Did she already tell you off for sayin such things?" Apple Bloom scolded.
"Uh, yeah, kinda," I said.
"Oh! Why don't we just form a herd? Sweetie Belle can lead it!" Scootaloo said, causing the pony in question to change from a white coat to a red coat.
"W-w-w-w-what? B-b-b-b-b-but" She stammered.
"Oh yeah! I mean, I did have that thought but I kinda dismissed it," I said.
"Would you guys be okay with that? I mean, we can always cancel it out before we're all sixteen after we all turn sixteen, we automatically become married so," I said.
All three of them turn different shades of red while looking away from each other.
"Yeah, that- that can work," Scootaloo said.
"Uh huh," Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle nodded together.
"Alright! I think, technically you would all approach my mother and get permission but, seeing as how I don't have any blood family, I suppose Applejack will work!" I say, leading the group towards the house.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
The group of us approach Sweet Apple Acres, the girls out of their stupors are chatting quietly to themselves and frequently looking at me.
We spot Applejack in the field on the way to the door.
"Hey Applejack! You got a sec?" Apple Bloom called out.
"Sure, what can I do yer fer?" She said, trotting over to us.
One explanation later and another round of red cheeks.
"And since I don't have a mother and Apple Bloom is a part of the herd, I figured we'd start with you," I said.
Applejack laughs in her classic country way.
"My own sister bagging a colt like Mex? You bet your apple bushels I'm all fer it," Applejack said giving us both a hug.
"Oh, there's a letter for you on the kitchen table Mex, it came yesterday while you were still on yer mission," Applejack said.
"Thanks! I'll quickly go see what it wants," I say.
The girls follow me inside where I get to the kitchen table pick up the missive in my magic and begin to read it.
"Oh! That's cool! Y'all remember Snappy Scoop? The pony writing my autobiography?" I said.
"Mhm," The girl's nod.
"She's finished! The editor went through it and approved it for publication tomorrow, she wants me to sign some copies at Canterlot tomorrow," I said.
"But you didn't write it," Sweetie Belle said.
"Yeah, I don't know why but apparently they want me to be there, I also wanna grab a copy of it for Twilight cuz she wants to read it," I say.
"Anyway! Back to the task at hoof!" I say, rushing towards Carousel Boutique.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Walking inside the building, we look around and cannot see Rarity.
"Rarity? Are you here?" Sweetie Belle said.
"Coming Sweetie!" Rarity said in a different room.
Rarity came trotting into the room while floating a rack of newly finished dresses behind her and looked at us.
"Oh my! The Cutie Mark Crusaders! What can I do for you four?" Rarity said.
"Sweetie Belle wants to marry Mex and she's here to ask for permission," Scootaloo said with a wide smirk aimed at Sweetie who stared at her in red-faced shock.
"Actually, I was hoping we could start a new herd agreement but since I don't have a mother well, I thought I could ask the sisters of my potential new herd-mates," I said.
"Ooooohhhh!" Rarity squealed while trotting on the spot.
"So, is that a, yes?" Apple Bloom said.
*More squealing* crescendoing even higher.
"Rarity?" Sweetie Belle said, stepping a little closer.
*More squealing* crescendoing even higher and jumping on the spot.
"Yes! Of course, it's a yes!" Rarity said, delighted.
"Oh, you simply must allow me to make the wedding clothes, when is it? Will I have time?" Rarity said running back and forth.
"Uh, Rarity? We're not getting married, not for like five years anyway," Sweetie started. "If he wants to," she said loud enough only for her to hear.
"It's still time for celebration!" Rarity said, clearly joining Rainbow Dash on cloud nine.

We make our way to Rainbow Dash's home in the clouds but find her soaring through the skies clearing clouds.
"Rainbow Dash! Down here!" Scootaloo said, waving a hoof.
"Hey, Scoot! Hey Crusaders! What's up?" Rainbow said, landing next to Sweetie Belle.
"Would you give your blessing to us forming a herd?" Scootaloo said, cutting straight to the point.
"W-what? Where did this come from?" Rainbow said with a smile.
"It was Sweetie Belles's idea to help Mex keep the ponies asking for his hand in marriage at bay," Scootaloo said.
"Uh-huh, I'm sure that's all it was," Rainbow Dash said staring at Sweetie Belle with a giant smile and winking.
"Is that a, yes?" I say.
Rainbow Dash giggled and laughed and nodded.
"Yeah, of course, it's a yes, I always knew you four would end up together," Rainbow said, again, winking directly at Sweetie Belle.
"Alright, it's settled! Let's go make it official at the town square!" Scootaloo said with a beaming smile.
"Lead the way Scoots!" I say.

After filing the required notices to Mayor Mare, our photograph was taken for the newspaper and the news reporters all raced back to their cities with the juicy news.
"I just wanna thank y'all again, now I can say I'm already part of a herd and not be lying," I said with a quick group hug.
"Y-yeah, no problem, Mex," Sweetie Belle said in a half-dreamy state.
"Alright, I've gotta head to Canterlot tomorrow for the signing, I'm gonna head home and get some early shut-eye, good night herd mates," I said with a wide smile and a bow, causing the girls to laugh.
"Bye Mex! See you after you get home, darling!" Apple Bloom said which caused even more laughter.
I head to my newly constructed house a small walk from the farmhouse and still on the Apple's property. My limited things have already been moved and lie in the middle of the room in a box. I head upstairs and crawl into bed, ready to tackle tomorrow's day with my head held high and a smile on my face, huh, imagine this old guardian settling down with a family.
"Hey Mex? Doesn't this mean you're technically engaged now?" Ghost said, appearing next to me.

Author's Notes:
Well! Another chapter is done! Mex is engaged?! So, I know this may confuse some, but I had a reader request that Mex get into a relationship and forget about the whole "Older on the inside" thing as in the real world, over time age regression would kick in and Mex would become his age. I think enough time has passed for that to happen.
So yeah! I look forward to delving into something I've never written about before... relationships... yay... I'll see y'all in the next Arc! Focusing back on Equestria before Mex's next mission calls. Cya!
