Next one and next one , finally the last one is done . Dauntless born and choose erudite . The first ever dauntless transfer. I clinch my fist to stop myself from erupt into anger . I can't be angry right now . I have to calm down
"So now all of you have made you choice so now it is time to embrace your new life ." I bowl my head . "The ceremony is finished ."
I walk off the stage . I see that Jason walker's hand is still bleeding. I take out the bandage and hand to him
"Wrap it around your hand . It will stop the bleeding from too much ." I nod at him
"Thank you ambassador ." He smiles at me
"How do you know my position?" I giggle
He is quiet interesting. The first abnegation boy who I ever felt interesting for .
"We all heard the announcement of a new ambassador elected in dauntless ." Jason shrugs
"It wasn't elected . I chose this and they offered it." I leave him alone . "Now all the dauntless run with me ."
I push the door opens and they all followed me . A year ago , I followed my instructor mark down the stair and now I am leading them. I run with exhaustion but don't stop
I can't show any weakness because an ambasssdor of dauntless should be unstoppable . We finally make out of the building after 5 minutes .
"So keep it up. If you can't make to the compound initiates, then you will become Factionless ."I shout . "No exception."
I climb the railing easily and get on the track . I stand there and watch my watch.
"So are you only coming alone ?" A girl from erudite talks to me , her name is Jenny.
"Yeah I am the one who has to run the choosing ceremony" I say coldly.
"You are too pretty for dauntless ." Jenny laughs
Jason stares at me . I am wandering why is he so focused
"And you are too smart for erudite ." Jason mocks
"What about you stuff?" Jenny smirks
"It is not the time for mocking." I feel annoyed . "Time for the running spree."
I start running because I see the train comes toward us . I jog slowly until I can reach a car handle . I swirl myself in . Jason is running fast but he can't grab the handle .
When it is the last second , I hold him into the car without anyone notice it.
"The only time that I will help you so next time be smart." I walk away from him
I find Alexander and Joshua stand with Jessica
"Thank you Delia . I and Alexander decide to marry but after this year's initiates going through . I know that Alex is going through so many stuffs."Jessica hugs me
"Congrats , I will attend if you invite me ." I hug her back
"Of course I will invite you. Without you, we can never possibly together ." Alexander shakes his head
I stand with Joshua . Looking at Alexander and Jessica kisses each other let me think about mark.
"You and mark ever done that?" Joshua asks me
"Never Joshua . I and mark are only friends ." I exclaim.
"I am sorry but you don't need to act so dramatic ." Joshua sighs
We arrive at dauntless headquarter so late . I jump off the train and land with my two feet. I have to enter first because I am the one who is going to welcome initiates .
There are more transfers than dauntless born this year so I have a lot of jobs to do .
"So my name is Joshua Pushkin and I am one of your leader of the dauntless. If you want to enter as dauntless, here is the way in." He stops for a minute. "If you don't have the gut to jump, then you don't belong to dauntless."
"What is at the button of it." Someone asks and I guess that is Jason walker's
"Who knows? You will find out or not." Joshua laughs so loud
Everyone are silent. I look at my feet waiting for the first initiates to come down the railing .
I hear a screaming sound but it sounds steady. I wrap my arms around the net and pull it with me . Jason walker the first jumper . I grab his arm and drag him down
"What is your name?" I ask . "You can choose a new one ."
"Jason." Jason walker announces proudly
"The first jumper Jason !" I shout. "Welcome to dauntless ."
I let him stand and looking for the next one . Until everyone are gone , we have to split the team
"The dauntless born are with Jeremy and transfers will stuck with me ." I chuckle. "Too bad ."
"Come with me now ." Jeremy beckons to them
Dauntless born pass quickly and now only me and nine of the transfers are left.
"My name is Delia . I am an ambassador for dauntless and I also volunteer to be your instructor during the rest of initiation. Joshua will watch your training together with me ." I clap my hands . "Come with me ."
I lead them into the compound and toward the chasm. Here is where my instructor killed himself
"This is called chasm." I clear my throat. "Every year there are daredevils who jump off the ledge . There are clear lines between idiocy and bravery. This has happened before and will happen again. You have been warned ."
"This is incredible ." A boy screams
I turn around . That boy is from Candor and I hate Candor as much as I hate erudite .
"What's your name boy?" I walk toward him.
"Alex ." Alex shivers
"Well Alex , if I love candor's mouth, then I will probably choose them." I put my hand on his shoulder and squeeze it. "Closer with me you have to learn how to keep your mouth shut."
Alex nods at me . I look at him for any other minute and turn away. I bring them to the pit . It is the central life of the world here.
"Here is the pit. It is the central life of the dauntless ." I smile at them. "Before we go go dinner , we will do something different."
I lead them upstair toward the glass building. Where I finished my fear landscape and also where I will watch their fear landscape today.
I open the door and light comes up. It was given by erudite as a high advanced technology .
"In order to understand you better , we will see your worst fears." Joshua steps up toward them
"How is that possible?" Jason finally opens his mouth
I take out a syringe in my pocket. They all staring at it
"The syringe contains the transmitters and it will send your fears into the computers. We will be able to watch it from there ."
"How about someone who have more fears than other." Jenny snorts
"I suggest that you focused on how to go through it instead of how many do you have . I also considered those who pry on the weak one coward ." I smirk at her
I am reminding that she was mocking and bullying Jason
"Who wants to come first. Should we split into order who jump first?" I ask
"Me ." Jason raises his hand
I beckon to him to follow me . We enter the room. I walk to the tray and he stands beside the door
"Are you scary of me ?" I take out the syringe
"I am naturally afraid of needles." Jason shivers
"It will be over very soon. Just either calm down your heartbeat or facing your fears more directly." I shrug. "It isn't that horrible ."
I wait for him to come to me and I insert the needle into his neck.
"You are so little so I will only use half dose of it." I put him on the chair
I put electrodes on my forehead and press the button
"Be brave Jason."
He is gone . I watch he goes through each of his fears . The third one scared me that his father Lucas was beating him to death. Erudite accused him of physical punishment and now it reveals to me that it is true .
Jason screams and wakes ups. Only three fears and it broke the record .
"I will help you to rest." I wrap his arm around my neck and hold him up
I walk him outside of the room and Joshua looks for us
"He is in too much pain Joshua and you should watch the rest of them. I will bring him to my office for rest." I nod at him
"Sure, the dinner will be ready in 20minutes." Joshua sighs. "You need to be there when my father makes the speech ."
"I will." I nod at him
I walk Jason to my office . I put him on my couch and lock the door
"Are you okay?" I sit down
"Yes I am fine . It is just so hard for me to go through it." Jason lowers his head
"You don't need to see this for a while." I smile at him
He lifts his head . His eyes are watering.
"I don't think that I can make it through initiation." Jason shakes his head
"I believe in you Jason. Looks at me ." I grab his face. "I want to tell you that you have my word."
"Delia, I mean instructor . Can I ask you a question?" Jason bites his lips
He is cute but he is very careful with the words that he is speaking
"Yes you can call me Delia anyway." I giggle
"What is divergent?" His face is pale
"Jason, on my god why are you asking me this? You can't say that word to anyone." I cover up his mouth. "No matter how much you trust that person."
Jason is shocked . I shake my head . Why I am sorry worried for him.
"My instructor mark . He was killed because he is divergent. Jason no matter where I am , I always want my initiates all be safe . Promise me that you will never tell anyone that secret." I grab his shoulder
"I promise . However where are you going Delia?" He looks at me . "No one care about me more than you."
"There will be people."
