After Jason promised that， I sigh with relief . I stand beside the window so still. Jason stands up too. I look back at him. He is so small but so stable .
"Why do you care about anyone who knows my divergence ." Jason frowns
"Jason， people are dying because of divergence . My instructor mark already dead before I was elected as an instructor ." I shake my head ."I don't want anything like this to happen again especially to my initiates . He dead because of protecting me and I will do the same thing if possible for my initiates ."
"You are the best instructor that I think dauntless ever had ." Jason says quietly.
"Well thank you for your kindness and now we are going to have dinner ." I push the door opens ."Come and after dinner ， Joshua will bring you guys to the dorm for changing."
He follows me out the room. I walk beside him toward cafeteria . Alexander passes us
"Why is he so late for dinner Delia?" Alexander looks at me so long.
"He went through a lot Alex . He needs to rest so I brought him to my office . If you are unhappy， please be angry with me ." I smile at him
"Fine go now . No more next time ." Alexander rolls his eyes ."We should keep as far distance as possible from initiates."
I nod at him and keep walking with Jason. When we reach the cafeteria ， I stop there
"You go in first." I point at him.
"Why?" Jason is confused
"Closer with me will do nothing good for you." I say coldly
Jason gives in and walks into the cafeteria . After a minute ， I walk in and pretend that I don't know him. I sit beside Jason's seat and starts to make my own hamburger.
After I finished it， I see that he is confusing with the foods. Dauntless and abnegation eat so different foods so no wander why he doesn't know how to eat.
"Put the red sauce and meats between two breads ." I point at the bowl."It's an hamburger."
"You haven't eaten any hamburger before?" Jackson is shocked ."What did you guys eat at home then?"
"Stiff eating plain food." I smirk
Jason looks at me for a long time . I stop looking at his direction
"What rank do you have during your initiation Delia?" Jason asks me
"First." I shrug
"Why aren't you a leader but Joshua is ?" Jason raises his eye brow
He is talking too much. I arch my eye brows .
"I think that I just have trouble with Candor but now I have a stiff too?" I laugh
"It maybe because you are so approachable ." Jason says
"Be careful Jason." I warn him
A soldier comes to me and talks something in my ears. I know that Alexander is going to give a speech . I stand up so does the lieutenant Jimmy . The cups are hitting the table now and Alexander is on the ledge
"Stand up initiates ." He claps his hand
The new initiates stand up and I am staring at Alexander or Joshua who stands beside him.
"You have chosen a warrior faction . Your duty is to protect the citizens in this city. We believe in the ordinary act of bravery ， in the courage to stand up those people who can't stand up for themselves . Respect that and do us the proud ." Alexander shouts and then turns away from the ledge
"Yes!"people start shouting and celebrating
I sneak out the room and feel the air is choking me . I walk upstair to the tattoo store . I want to get new tattoos on my arms . I already have one arm cover in more ink that bare skin .
I knock on the door and a man opens the door for me
"Hey Delia . Wanting a new tattoo?" Jefferson giggles ."Come in and have a seat."
I sit down beside his table . I bite my own lips
"I want to get five factions tattoos on my spine behind my back ." I say
"That is a good idea . I like that ， five factions symbol." Jefferson raises his eyebrows ."I will draw something and do it for you ."
He walks to the back of the room and I am waiting. I hear laughter coming from behind me . I turn around and see Jason and Maria coming with bunch of others
"So quickly that you have made friends ." I say
"Yeah ， they are good people . What are you doing then ?" Jason says something to his friends and comes toward me
"Here is a tattoo store . What do you think ." I roll my eyes
Jefferson comes out and beckons to me . I ignore Jason's question and go in with him
"New initiates ?" Jefferson asks
"Yeah ， he is from abnegation so quiet curious for that." I laugh
"Maybe that is the reason why he leaves ." Jefferson shakes his head ."Too curious for stiff ."
I shrug. I can't tell him the truth behind his choice .
"Yeah maybe but I don't really know the real reasons."I lie
I sit on the chair with my face down and lift my cloth to reveal my spine . Jefferson starts tattooing my spine . I close my eyes for while and when I wake up, Jason is there
"Are you following me wherever I go?" I blink my eyes
"Yes, you told me that your instructor was dead and I want make sure that my instructor doesn't get killed ." Jason folds his arms
"You are such an adorable boy." I shake my head . "I am in leadership boy."
Jason looks angry. I don't know what did I say that was wrong
"I am not a little boy Delia . I am 12."He lifts his chin up
"Well , I am 13 now ." I smirk at him
"Fine , I just want to make sure ." Jason stops for a while . "That you are physically and mentally stable . After I lost my mother , I just can't be more unstable than anything."
I know that luca's wife dead so many years ago . I hold my hand out.
"Jason you have me now . I may be one of your family member in the future as a elder sister ." I sigh
"No more than that?" Jason says
"I have a clear line between me and my initiate Jason. No more than that." I smile at him.
He takes his hand back and walks away.
"He is a poor kid ." Jefferson finally speaks . "Well , you are doing a risky thing."
"He did more risky than that by telling his secret which killed mark." I laugh
"Oh did he ? You are a trustworthy person so that's okay." Jefferson says
I don't think that Jason ever knew me before so that was a random act
"He never know me before Jefferson." I sit up after he is done tattooing my back
I stand up and look into the mirror . It is good . Dauntless at the top and rest are below it.
"Thank you Jefferson . You did a good job." I wave at him
I walk out of the store . Jason is sitting above the chasm . Everyone have leave for their bed time
"It is almost curfew ." I watch the clock. 30minutes before 11
"I know Delia ." Jason is kicking his leg
I sit beside him. He is a poor boy who lost his mother and was physically abused by his father
" I know that you saw that thing coming right?" Jason laughs sadly. "I know what you saw in my fear."
"I will keep as a secret."I nod at him
"Delia , did you ever love a person before?" Jason grabs my arm
I shake my head . I don't even know who are my parent
"I only raised up by my grandma . I don't even know who are my parent. I didn't love anyone ." I twitch my fingers together
"Maybe when I become dauntless, can you see me as a different person?" Jason blinks his tears
"Jason , you once my initiate will always be my initiate no matter how the status changed ." I stand up. "You should go back to the dorm now and be brave Jason."
I walk away and toward my own room. I cry in my hand . Mark , why are you leaving me alone . I need my instructor back. I need him. Then I see a shadow passed quickly but didn't see who is it
"Mark is that you?" I chase after the shadow
The man is wearing fully black and his head is covered up . I run faster and I follows him to the roof. He disappears across the track . When I want to go cross it, someone grabs me .
"Let me go." I scream
"You are a fool of chasing after that." Alexander stops me right there . "I know that you missed him Delia."
"I need him. I may not love him but I need my instructor back" I cry
Alexander hugs me . I embrace him . He is like a father to me .
"I know Delia . I don't know how to explain this ." Alexander sighs . "Mark isn't dead yet."
"What is that?" I am shocked . "They found his body."
"Delia, the thing is getting more complicated . I watch the camera and it didn't showed the person who jumped was him. I didn't know how they found the body." Alexander narrows his eyes . "I think that erudite must have planned something. I believed that they will find factionless to wage a war ."
Factionless have more population than us . If we want to protect abnegation, then we have no enough army.
"I know Alex . I am worried that too." I lower my head "we will find a way."
"Jessica is pregnant ."Alexander sighs "I was too hurry."
"What hell is that? Did Joshua knows already?" I am surprised
Jessica is having his baby and now we may go to a war.
"Are we going to wage a war with erudite ?" I ask
"Maybe , very likely."
