The Marshall and Superman

Chapter 11 Epilogue

6 MONTHS LATER

"Clark?"

"Yes babe."

"I think it's time to do some remodeling upstairs, don't you?"

"Yeah, what do you have in mind?"

"Well, I'd like 3 bedrooms . . . one a nursery, a sitting area for when we have guests, a 2nd bathroom."

"A nursery! Lana, are you . . ."

"No, no, relax. But I want to stop the pill if it's ok with you?"

"How about in another 6 months? I'd like a little more time with you all to myself. Ok?"

"Ok, I can live with that." Lana cuddles closer to her love.

"Why don't we get a couple of contractors to sit down with us and talk over what we want and what is feasible to do?" Clark suggests.

"Good idea; you are so smart!"

"You married me for my brain, didn't you." Clark smirks.

Lana smiles, "Not exactly."

"What then?"

"A girl has to have a secret or two."

"Really?"

"Yup!"

1 YEAR LATER – RIDING THEIR HORSES

"You've never taken me up to the top of Chandler's windmill babe." Lana suggests.

"Hm, I guess not. Shall we ride over and do that right now?"

"Right now? It is daylight!"

"We can climb sweetheart."

"Oh, ok let's go." Lana excitedly agrees.

They ride to the windmill, tie the horses to a metal strut and climb the ladder. They sit side by side with their arms around each other.

"This view is spectacular, Clark! I should have asked for this long ago."

"We'll come back at night, then we can fly up. The view then, of the stars, Smallville at night is even better!"

"I bet it is!" Lana is amazed.

"Remember my mom will be home this weekend. Can you bake an apple pie for her, please?"

"Since you asked so nicely, sure."

"I'll give you a special reward!" Clark raises an eyebrow.

"Oh, I like that." Lana grins.

"I knew you would. I love you, Lana!"

"I love you too!"

SUNDAY BREAKFAST

"Clark, I hope you won't be angry with me. I got mom a present."

"Why would I be angry?"

"Just keep your cool, ok?"

Clark is puzzled, but nods yes.

Lana hands Martha a small wrapped present. Mom opens it and an elongated plastic stick drops out. She gasps as she turns it over and sees a small + sign. She squeals and says "REALLY? YOU ARE PREGNANT? I'M GOING TO BE A GRANDMA!" She jumps up, goes around the table and hugs Lana, then Clark.

Lana gets up and hugs Clark, whispering in his ear "I hope you aren't mad. I thought it would be a nice surprise for mom." She kisses him on the forehead, then on his lips, deeply.

"It's perfectly ok. When did you find out?"

"Just last evening. Congratulations honey, you are now a daddy, Mister Kent!"

"And you are a mommy! I love you, Lana!"

"I love you, Clark. We better get to work on the nursery, my Superman!"

"I'm on it, my love!"
